Very comfortable. Free Laundry facilities on site. Close to the harbour, many different restaurants, pick up points for tours, and attractions. Loved that it had a standing oscillating fan. (Nice touch) complimentary tea and instant coffee. Fully stocked kitchen items, electric water kettle. Was a little noisy on weekends due to area bars but not bad. Added surprise tv had netflix and paramont included. The bath area needs a shelf or table in the bath to hold items but it was a lovely place.

The elevator broke while there and because there’s no physical human within the building at a desk, I had to call the alarm/emergency line through the elevator itself. Called the phone number and it gives tons of options but never allows you to talk to anybody. Waiting over an hour in a boiling hot elevator for well over an hour waiting for a technician (not their fault). Wrote an email about my concerns and did not receive a reply about that. Simply “you were stuck in an elevator?”. Checking in was HELL as you need confirmation number and that wasn’t provided to me.

Great location,close to stores,attractions,boardwalk and public transport. Well furbished , the staff is very professionnel. Free access to washer and dryer greatly appeciated. Nice city view and the water view will probably disappear with the construction is finish. At this time of the year a carpet in the entrance of the apparement would be very usefull for wet boots. Also a wardrobe rail and hangers should be added in the entrance closet.

Excellent location. Extremely clean. Home away from home, fully stocked kitchen, basically a 2bdrm 1bath apartment of new construction. The loud music mentioned by others is an issue, but tolerable. The second bedroom, small and overlooking a dank alley, is dark and quiet, great for sleeping. No space to stop the car and unload luggage, it’s a bus lane, unlike what the hotel suggested. Beware that check-in time is 4pm, not the usual 3pm.

Hotel was pretty easy to enter and was nice to be able to store luggage after checkout. Checkout is right at 11am, housekeepers were knocking on the door when we were packing up at 10:55. We stayed on the back side of the building and the pub below was heard until 2am so if you’re a light sleeper this probably isn’t the place for you.

It took over an hour to make the reservation and to do online checkin because had to get hotel reservation number from hotels.com live person. Stayed two nights. Toilet backed up first night & no one there to fix it. No onsite parking. Had to pay for municipal parking. Could not figure out how to get live tv channels. Only streaming channels.

Location was perfect for the purpose of our trip. Room didnt just look clean, it felt clean. Just remember theres no front desk or any attendants, watch your emails for check in info and do echeck in a day in advance to get your door codes. 16:00 check in is a little late but they have luggage storage you can take advantage of so you can drop your stuff off and enjoy downtown Halifax. They have no parking but there is a garage just down around the corner.

There is no parking associated with the hotel. However there are multiple lots within a few minutes walk. The air conditioning unit is portable and has a noise level equivalent to a window unit. Nicely equipped unit. Clean and comfy. TV is set up with Roku. Hotel is ideally located. Close to sights and restaurants.

Very pleasantly suprised with the property...the photos don't do it justice. Were able to leave our bags while we went to the theatre which was very useful. Slight hiccough with the code to get up to our room, but followed thr reset instructions and everything worked fine. We parked at the closest parkade, Metro parking at Blowers, arrived 1pm Sat and left around 9.30 Sun and it was only $17.50! Think it may be more expensive during the week.

This is the cutest and quaintest hotel within walking distance of the Halifax waterfront. I have travelled a fair amount, and this is by far the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Fantastic job to the cleaner! I loved everything about it and plan to stay on my next visit to Halifax.

Our room was not very clean, some of the dishes in the cupboard were clearly dirty, and there were dried up orange peels on the floor behind the garbage can. It gave the feeling of not having been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. We stayed there 7 nights, and even though we saw the cleaning staff, they never once checked in with us, or asked if we needed anything, even though they were cleaning rooms right beside ours. Also, there were many guests who were talking on their phones, or to each other in the hallways at all hours of the night very loudly, probably half of them were intoxicated. Zero consideration for others, and due to no staff in the hotel, there is zero consequences for these people. Very disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

The room was very clean. Perfect location downtown. Safe. Nice modern decor overall. Easy check-in process, no headaches. Be aware your around bars, it gets loud on the weekends if you like the windows open. Amenities are great.

Not a fan of the self check in process and how no one is on site to assist you. There is no flooring on the main floor of the room I was assigned. The upstairs was much more put together and 'comfortable'. The drain in the shower is not sloped so the water just sits on the floor. I noticed there is mold along the baseboard in the bedroom that I am assuming is from the pooled water in the shower as these rooms are next to each other. Overall an average stay

Overall great stay. Kitchen is absolutly well organised, electros, pots&pans, ustensils very complete and efficient. Cleanliness of the studio was impeccable and bed very confortable. TV and Netflix perfect. Suggestions :1) add hooks to hang coat at entrance 2) add light under kitchen cabinets for better confort 3) double-Check the AC efficiency 4) add pole or hooks in bathroom 5) repaint black inside wall in pastel, would be cooler/nicer. Our stay was great. The suite was like a modern apartment. Clean, roomy, and fully equipped. Location is very convenient. Self check in system was simple and smooth with advanced emails and text reminders. Our suite had no outside view. No biggie for us as we just needed a nice, clean, cool, and cost effective place to stay for a night.

I was surprised as to how much space this hotel suite has to offer! I stayed in ph suite which is the and there was a staircase to the 7th floor! The full size kitchen was amazing. The only odd thing was that the shower was on the lower lever with a sink but not toilet. Upstairs where the bedroom and den are, there are 2 sinks and only 1 with a toilet for the entire suite. I travelled alone, so I can’t complain, but if you are travelling with a larger group, this probably won’t work for you. The check-in process was uneventful. Check-out equally simple. There are bars in the area, so don’t exit to be very quiet at night. They left us ear plugs to help in case you needed them.

My only issue was the portable a/c fan unit. It was REALLY loud and the quiet settings didn't work. My choice was deal with loud or be a bit too warm. Otherwise, the room and the hotel were excellent!

Here's the good: The location to the waterfront is great, about a 10 to 15-minute walk. The suite was very clean. The self-check-in was convenient. Here is the bad: Pretty sure the queen bed isn't a real queen, it was very small. There is no parking. Here is the worst: It is extremely noisy! Not sure how it is for the 3rd floor and below, but our suite was on the 4th, directly across from the rooftop bar that Cameo partners with. And when I say right across, I mean I could look out our living room window and virtually lip-read the conversations happening out there. And it would have to be lip-reading, as the music is blaring far too loud for anyone to actually hear anything....till 2:30 in the morning. Along with the noisy neighbours outside the building, you'll enjoy the noisy ones in the building too with the thin walls and ceiling. All in all, if you're in Halifax to take in the nightlife and want to be in the action or can sleep through a full-blown concert less than 10 feet from you, it's perfect. If you are a light sleeper or have children with you, you may want to consider elsewhere.

Downtown location which was good and bad - no parking at all and luggage was a challenge - close to the sights of the harbour - bed wasn't comfortable for some reason - the suite itself was very kool and the furnishing looked brand new and an excellent kitchen set-up - the A/C was a portable unit and was not efficient at all in keeping the suite cool - it wasn't even hot outside - the was construction all around and inside the property - someone was moving furniture above us at all hours of the night and kept us awake most of the 2nd night - they offered 10 per cent off our next stay - no thanks - will never happen

We checked a few days in advance as recommended and received the codes to get in. When we got here the codes did not work. After 10 minutes we tried calling the number it says to call but no one answered and then we had to check in again Our hands were full, there were several people in the lobby waiting to get in. It was awkward and not cool that no one answered. We are highly techie people so def not user error.

A terrible hotel stay. The worst customer service. Actually no customer service since no one works there and if you are lucky to reach someone after 4 pm by text message since they have no phone or person the answer was always not their problem and blamed others. Never solved the problem or even tried. The prime issue is the terrible check in process. You must have a special code to even check in and hotel.Com did not provide it. Without it you cannot check in and the hotel sms person refuses to help. Finally after 90 minutes of reaching out to hotel Com I finally got it and then have to go through hotel's extensive portal by giving personal info credit card and even a photo. Finally they email you a code to get into the front door and your room. I travel extensively and globally and this was the worst check in process I ever experienced. So DON'T stay here!! If you must make sure to have all the confirmation info in hand before leaving home so does not take hours to get in. BTW I helped two other stranded parties who could not get in figure how to navigate this terrible process. Buyer beware!

I was initially sceptical about online, contactless check in, however, the process was entirely seamless. This model allows you to stay in very popular areas for a lesser cost (and who doesn’t love that?) Our suite was more than we could have needed. We would stay here again.

Cameo was perfect for us! Clean, modern, well-equipped - but most important was the location! Right in the heart of downtown Halifax, we had dozens of restaurants, museums, and shops to choose from, all within a short distance. Didn’t even use our car in town - there was so much to see and do in a short radius. We especially recommend the Citadel and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The Immigration Museum at Pier 21 was also worth the small admission fee. We were warned that there could be noise due to the Cameo's location on a main thoroughfare, but we had no problem. I also want to mention the closet - ours had many shelves as well as hanging space, and made it easy to unpack and not live out of a suitcase the three days we were there. Highly recommend the Cameo. (If you haven’t stayed in a hotel without a front desk, all of the instructions for checking in and all the door codes can be a bit daunting. But we followed the instructions, and everything went smoothly.)

We had an amazing stay in Halifax. The Cameo hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The suite is modern and clean and has everything you need. The only downfall that may affect some people is the hotel backs onto Argyle St and The Pint bar is basically connected to the back of the hotel so you will hear the thumping of the music till 2am or so. This didn’t affect my sleep and the hotel provides ear plugs beside the bed which was nice. I feel this is the price you pay for being right downtown so we were ok with this. Also, there is no parking available able by the hotel, we parked in the parkade down the road which only came to $45 for 2 days and 2 nights of parking. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Cameo and would recommend.

It was VERY loud. There must have been a local nightclub in close proximity to the hotel. It was very hard to fall asleep. I would not stay here again. We were traveling to get away and relax, catch up on sleep as we have young children at home… that did not happen. Besides the noise, everything was very clean and accommodating.

It is very well situated. You have to avoid the rooms that are not facing Barrington Street. Those rooms that are facing the backyard are directly situated above a roof terrace pub with loud music and loud customers. They might as well be in your room. Even the earplugs that are offered in the bedroom are not sufficient.

If you want to be in the heart of everything that is happening in downtown Halifax, this is the place to stay. But beware - it's noisy because of its location. The property does provide fans which do help to drown out the noise and that was enough to do the trick.

No coffee maker, the microwave barely worked (it was bent and wouldn't close), the "duvet" was just two sheets folded over each other, parking was a nightmare. It was a great location, but it might be worth paying a little more for a place with parking and the ability to make coffee.

Loved the 1 bedroom suite I was in. Definitely request a room that doesn't look out to a brick wall! (Which I had the following two nights). Fantastic location and being downtown there is the usual amount of noise- but worth it! Easy check in. Just needs a coffee maker :) Highly recommend

Location was great, it was an easy walk to lots of restaurants, bars, and activities. The room itself was comfortable, including the beds. Missed having a coffee maker (even a French press would have been great) as instant coffee is pretty bad. Since it’s a self service hotel, it’s used for parties, so keep in mind it can be loud into the early hours of the morning. I wouldn’t recommend here if you have kids or you are a light sleeper. It was great for us, since we could have a group over before we all headed out for the evening. I’d definitely stay here again.

A tad confusing with respect to entry codes. They didn’t work without having to electronically re-checkin once at the hotel. Frustrating as online check in is the whole point of the place. No coffee maker. Instant coffee only. Otherwise good value for the price. Right downtown, close to everything.

Great location. No place to be dropped off nor picked up except blocking traffic. A coffee maker wouldve been nice instead of a can of instant coffee. Beds were great. I can see how location would be loud in warmer weather as there was a rooftop patio right outside our window.

It appeared a bit sketchy from the outside especially because we arrived at night but quickly learned it was a nice area and a very lovely unit. A Keurig machine would have made it even greater!!
