## Mittelharth Youth Hostel
**2 Rue Pasteur – Colmar**
Mittelharth Youth Hostel is above all a place for sharing and conviviality. We promote open-mindedness, respect and kindness.
It is also shared accommodation where a few rules are necessary so that everyone can fully enjoy their stay. The smooth running of the hostel and the atmosphere within it depend above all on the respect everyone shows towards others, the premises and the equipment.
Pets are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs.
The Youth Hostel accepts no responsibility in the event of theft.
**Please note: our establishment is under 24/7 video surveillance.**
## SAFETY
Access to the rooms is strictly reserved for guests staying at the hostel.
Minors must be accompanied by adults.
It is forbidden to consume alcohol or smoke inside the building, including at room windows.
The use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited within the hostel, whether in the rooms, common areas or around the premises.
Any person who poses a risk to the safety of others or to the building will be asked to leave the establishment, and the relevant authorities may be notified.
## RULES FOR COMMUNAL LIVING
Guests must behave courteously and respectfully towards hostel staff and other guests.
Any act of verbal or physical violence, as well as any behaviour or comments of a sexual, racist, sexist, antisemitic, homophobic or discriminatory nature, is strictly prohibited.
Day and night, doors must be held when closing in order to prevent them from slamming.
Between **10:00 PM and 7:00 AM**, noise is not permitted in the corridors or dormitories.
You may talk, read or play quietly in the TV room.
Group leaders are responsible for the behaviour of the members of their group, particularly any minors entrusted to their care. Under no circumstances may they transfer this responsibility to hostel staff.
## UPON ARRIVAL
Reception at the Youth Hostel is open:
* Monday to Saturday: from **3:00 PM to 11:00 PM**;
* Sundays and public holidays: from **3:00 PM to 11:00 PM**, with the possibility of paying on site only between **9:00 PM and 11:00 PM**.
Please note that between **8:00 PM and 11:00 PM**, only guests who have completed their booking and payment online may access the establishment.
If you notice any problem in your room, please report it to reception as soon as you arrive.
Upon arrival, each guest will be asked to provide valid identification and payment for their stay if it has not already been paid online.
Accepted payment methods are: **bank card, cash and holiday vouchers (Chèques-Vacances).**
You will then be provided with:
* the key to your room;
* your bed linen;
**Please note: for groups with a reservation, bed linen will already have been placed in the dormitories;**
* the Wi-Fi code;
* the entrance door code.
Guests who have booked breakfast will receive **one ticket per person, per day**.
For any changes to your stay — early departure, extension of stay, change of dormitory, etc. — please contact the hostel reception **no later than 8:00 PM on the day before the requested change**.
Reception is open from **7:00 AM to 11:00 AM** and from **3:00 PM to 11:00 PM** (from **3:00 PM on Sundays and public holidays**).
To use the bicycle storage room, please ask at reception for access.
Toiletries and linen may also be available for hire if required.
## DURING YOUR STAY
We kindly ask you not to damage the furniture or alter the layout of the rooms. The guests staying after you will appreciate it!
The hostel doors are closed from **9:00 PM**.
Between **9:00 PM and 11:00 PM**, you may use the intercom to contact the night supervisor.
After **9:00 PM**, you must use the entrance door code.
### Rooms
Rooms are available from **3:00 PM** and must be vacated by **10:00 AM** at the latest each day.
The hostel is closed to guests between **11:00 AM and 3:00 PM**. During this period, guests are required to leave the building to allow the premises to be cleaned.
A communal area is available free of charge for luggage storage.
Rooms are single-gender. However, groups may request to share the same room.
From **10:00 PM onwards**, it is essential to respect the sleep of the other guests in your room.
Cooking and eating in the rooms are prohibited.
It is also forbidden to plug in high-powered electrical appliances such as hot plates, kettles, etc.
### Common Areas
On the **2nd floor**, a TV room and vending machines offering drinks, food and hygiene products are available from **3:00 PM to 10:00 AM**.
Recycling bins are available in the common areas.
A fully equipped kitchen is available on the 2nd floor from **3:00 PM to 10:00 AM**.
A refrigerator is available for storing perishable food, subject to the rules of use displayed in the kitchen.
All users are required to clean and put away the utensils they have used and leave the area clean after use.
For safety reasons, **the oven and hot plates are automatically switched off from 11:00 PM.**
### Showers and Toilets
The sanitary facilities are accessible from **3:00 PM to 10:00 AM**.
Please leave the showers and toilets in the same clean condition in which you found them upon arrival.
### Dining Room
Breakfast is served every day from **7:30 AM to 9:30 AM**.
Only guests holding a breakfast ticket may access breakfast service.
Groups may privately book the dining room, subject to the applicable rates, to hold a meeting or organise a catered meal.
## UPON DEPARTURE
Rooms must be vacated by **11:00 AM at the latest**.
Please leave your room in the same condition in which you found it upon arrival.
Please:
* fold the blankets on the bed;
* place the sheets in the bins provided for this purpose.
The room key must be returned to reception before your departure.
If no staff member is present, you may leave it in the designated key box at reception.
Any personal belongings left behind will only be sent to you upon request and **at your own expense**.
