Oceans Beach Resort & Suites

Arrived early and our room was available. We were able to check in. Turned AC down because room had direct sun so it was too warm for us. After we enjoyed some time outside and went back, room was still too warm for our liking. Unfortunately hotel service did not have a fan but they very graciously offered us a different room. Once we turned the air down to our liking everything was perfect. This is a great little mom and pop hotel. The owners were very friendly, the one house keeper we spoke with was super nice and the older lady who worked in the front office was also super nice. We would definitely use this hotel again It is an older motel, but the grounds are amazing. One short block from the beach, a few short blocks from the pier and dining. The pool water felt amazing. Lots of island feel to the outside. The only thing missing was some island music playing and a bar. Remedy that yourself by bringing a small speaker for music and purchasing alcohol before you arrive and you are all set.

We enjoyed our stay at Oceans Beach Resort! We looked at a lot of hotels in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding area and this was one of the few that offered free parking! The location is great, just a block from stores/restaurants and the BEST ice cream place, and then maybe a 10 minute walk to the pier and more stores/restaurants. The staff was friendly. The rooms are slightly dated but they look just as pictured. The room was clean and housekeeping visited daily. The beach is far less busy in this location than near the pier. We would definitely tag here again!

We stayed two nights on a spur-of-the-moment decided weekend getaway, king bed, easy access to beach, and convenient free parking. Staff was nice and accessible, with offers for maid service (which we declined) and quick responses when we asked for a fresh set of towels. Photos and ads for this motel are deceiving, as you need a giraffe's neck or a seat on second-story roof for an actual ocean view. Quaint, old, no amenities except ice machine. Mildew on shower curtain rod and rusty tracks, and soap bar that was provided was coarse, weak, and unable to make much suds. Old curtains. Very uncomfortable bed with squeaky springs and tiny pillows for a king. Coffee maker in room was outdated, and I don't think they make the Panasonic TV anymore that was in our room. Pool area and outdoor huts are O.K. for sitting and sunning, though a couple of pool lounge chairs were broken. Also, only one of the two outdoor showers worked to remove sand returning from the beach -- and water in the pool needed skimming to remove leaves and twigs, etc. All in all, premises are across a street from a pretty ocean and well-maintained beach, and it's within walking distance to restaurants-bars. Prices charged and paid for what guests actually receive are way too high and out of whack. It served our purpose, but if we ever return to Pompano Beach -- a great getaway town -- we'll likely stay overnight elsewhere.

We live 20 minutes away and wanted to be close and convenient to the Annal Drone Show. I read other reviews, but several months ago, everything was awesome. We’re Floridian’s and need a heated pool 😂 I would go back, those Hilton’s and Marriott’s are double the price. It worked out PERFECT!

The window was directly next to a huge construction sight in progress with scaffolding as the view. The pool is not heated as it was very cold with dirt and leaves on the bottom. The grounds were nicely kept but the rooms were defiantly dated.

Friendly hardworking staff! Great spacious room. Felt safe. Excellent location to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Beautifully manicured grounds. Saw many geckos and iguanas! Was bummed on the last day that the pool was closed for the day. My 7-year-old was bummed.

The place was great. The property was well maintained and clean. Close to the beach and friendly. I would go back there is a heart beat. Not fancy but we loved sitting our side in the courtyard and enjoying the swimming pool and out door area. Very pretty and quiet. The staff was great. We are thinking about going next year and if we do we want to stay there. The pictures are just what they look like

I didn't like it Very dirty it smelled bad

Liked the common areas, seemed well kept. Room did not feel like it was cleaned thoroughly. Even at a cooling 69 degrees the a/c made the room feel weirdly stuffy, humid and sticky. My husband, babies (1 & 2) and I all woke up sick the next morning. My kids had a whooping cough, kids who rarely get sick, and we only went to the beach and spent the rest of the day and night in the hotel.

Great visit. Walking distance to everything and very close and convenient to the beach. The room was cleaned everyday and we enjoyed the pool. Nothing fancy but perfect for an affordable, fun and convenient trip to Florida!

Very dirty

I was told if I had a view to the pool which I didn't. There were bugs in the room. The service was below average sometimes no one came to the room for service.

Florence at the front desk was very friendly and helpful making check-in a breeze! Pool and courtyard area very comfortable and clean. Room A/C under-performing. Dark furnishings made the room feel dark and "dingey" and overhead light fixture quit working which made it more difficult to see the area where the TV was. Location very convenient. Easy walk to pier and restaurants.

We left. Room was dated and unhealthy looking stains on the refrigerator and truly just not an overall nice facility. Also it’s not on the beach. There is another property behind it and you can’t see the water

This is an older property without any frills. Very old fashioned inside, a quilt that looks from the 60s. The bedding and bathroom were clean, so I could overlook the outdated decor and just sleep for the night. The front door to the room seemed a little less than secure. The front desk lady was nice and I enjoyed her positive energy. This is a price friendly hotel for the area, and you can walk to the beach. But definately NO NO frills at all.

The price was high to the place, the a/c was noisy but apart of that is nice, love the area, clean, receptionist was very kind, hope to comeback on the future.

This is no 5 star resort, it’s more like a motel, but it was fine for what we needed. We had to plan a last minute trip for a family of 4 due to a death in the family. Check in process was quick and parking is very convenient. Rooms and grounds were kept very clean. We stayed 5 nights. Only had our room not cleaned one day. Not sure why but it was fine. The private beach access was fantastic and location to nice restaurants was great. Negatives-we stayed in the junior suite and the layout was weird. King bed is in the front room with the kitchen. 2 queen beds in the back room with the AC and bathroom. You can not close the bedroom door or the front room will get zero AC. You have to go into the second bedroom to use the bathroom. So if you need privacy, this isn’t your place. Our kids are heavy sleepers so it worked fine for us. The blackout curtains don’t cover the top of the windows so between the very bright, no AC front room, sleeping was a bit tough. The pool is kind of blah, but since the beach is right there we didn’t use it anyway. Overall our stay was pleasant. It was a clean and friendly place. Has a retro vibe which we didn’t mind. Our kids of course thought it was great.

They “upgraded” us to a suite upon arrival. Walk into room, with a kitchen stove that had no burners, a TV in the bedroom that did not work and a toilet when flushed would take a significant time to refill the tank to flush again. Thankfully we were there one night just to sleep.

About what you’d expect from an older beach style hotel stay. AC was Loud!

noisy but who cares? if you don't need A/C don't turn it on, room neighbors. and hotel staff as well, don't let running A/C all day in my room while I'm out!

The owner or manager is watching your every move via cameras. Had the employee knock on our door at midnight because we forgot a box of closed potato chips bags on the table under the tiki hut.. asked to change to another room for 2 beds since i had 2 extra people and was willing to pay the difference but they wanted to charge $746 more.. constantly walking around and checking what we were doing. Never staying there again. We had 7 rooms

We had to be moved from our original room because the lock broke on the door. The new room was spacious and clean. The resort is older but the staff were great and very helpful. It’s in a great location for walking to the beach (1 min away) and restaurants (5 min walk).

Property around the facility was beautiful!! Nice pool! Just a walk across the street to the beach!!! But I feel like as a guest we were treated as an inconvenience by the management and staff!!! The rooms were ok but dated and musty!!!

It is located in a very nice location, and the staff, specifically Florents at the front desk, is so professional, welcoming and make you feel so comfortable filling out every request or questions that we can have.

We arrived at this location way after our time for check in due to our flight being delayed. Once I arrived with my uber driver the open sign was on but no one was in the office. I had received a call from the office at around 9pm asking for my ETA I said I’m not sure because of the delays and waiting on my uber. But hopefully I should arrive around 1am. Once arrived at 1:50 I called the number the girl called me from and rang the bell at the location several times. The next day I called the hotel to ask for a refund. They DECLINED and told me I didn’t call the number on the door. I did not see the number on the window. I called the number she had called me from previously. Thank goodness my uber driver did not leave my location and I was nervous because the area looked a little sketchy and it smell was terrible!! The office mgr was not nice!!! Lesson learnt ladies. When traveling by yourself or your children stay in a well known hotel with 24 hour service. I give all the credit to my uber driver for not leaving me and my son alone.

They wouldn't let my family visit while i was in town for a day. They wanted to charge $12 per person to visit.

First this is not the beach front resort, it is a motel. The photo here deceived me, the white house in the front of beach is private property. The door which allows access to beach was locked, no to access beach one has to walk around.

Decor is not attractive but the bed was comfortable and room and shower immaculate! This property is right along the walkway down to the Pompano Fishing Pier!

Overnight stay for Birthday, excellent location, across from beach, walk to restaurants, nice and clean for an older property, a little overpriced, but it was high season!

Highly recommended, beach access path less than 5 steps from the back of the property.
