Beautifully furnished and comfortable condo nestled in a jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Sparkling clean infinity pool, full kitchen, BBQ pit on back patio, excellent service from host and staff. The 5k maintained rock road to get there from main hwy is a bit of a rough drive but well worth it. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and we have stayed at many wonderful places- but none as amazing as CanaVida. Only stayed 2 nights- wish we had stayed 2 weeks!

Hotels dot com screwed up the reservation, but Jessica at the property did everything she could and made sure I️ have accommodations for my trip. She’s there to help and does a great job at that. The road going to the site is dirt, but that’s expected in CR. The pool at the smaller condos is amazing. Infinity, with fantastic views and the right depth to hang out and enjoy life. Definitely going back there the next time I’m in Uvita!!

Fabulous location and (mostly) fabulous villa, lovingly decorated with fun, little holiday decorations . What a view! The indoor kitchen and living areas were adequately supplied with everything we needed to live comfortably. We also really enjoyed the outdoor living areas - - the pool setting, comfy chairs, covered porch area with a really nice grill and - -bonus - - outdoor grassy play area complete with a trampoline!!! While the Quetzal villa was delightful, it did have a couple issues that we noticed and reported to management. They were immediately responsive but were unable to resolve the issues while we were there. (1. sewer gas smell in bathrooms - - we solved by covering sink and shower drain pipes and 2. AC in Master BR made clicking sound which they said is normal and we eventually got used to it.). We would definitely stay here again - - and will probably ask for this unit if we make it back to Canavida in the future.

Our stay at the villa was excellent. The villa was very spacious with large, comfortable rooms. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the pool was well-maintained and beautifully lit even at night. Communication with the hosts was excellent! What an excellent property! The family that runs it is dedicated to making sure all guests (including kids) have a great vacation. The property is fairly new, and the owners are always improving it. Behind the condos is a grassy area with a trampoline and badminton—perfect for kids or your inner child. Our six-year-old loved the pool and trampoline. At dawn and dusk, the property comes alive with the wildlife you come to Costa Rica to see. Have your binoculars ready by the pool deck for the show—and don’t miss the sunsets and starry skies. The condos were clean and well-equipped for cooking. The propane grills had everything we needed to grill out. It’s about 5KM/3Mi up the mountain, a 20-minute drive. We visited in March 2025 and used a driver (Caleb—highly recommend) to get up and down. It’s around 10Mil or $20 each way, worth it for the incredible views. I’ve traveled the world and this place will forever stand out. I’m already planning to stay for a month or two in the future. The team was excellent—very communicative and helpful—and even arranged everything with our driver Caleb, who was amazing and always available, including early morning pickups.

Positives: - The view is very nice - the grounds are greener than on the pics - the house is quite large and rooms have good bathrooms, but villa 8 second bedroom is separate, weird! - the furnishing is nice wood, well styled - aircons work Not so goods: - long dirt gravel road 6km, also a positive, as we had a 4x4, so be sure to have a high clearance or 4x4. - no washing machine available - tiles throughout seem nice but when wet are extremely slippery! They put some strips down outside, but you must wear footwear…! - kitchen is good size, but not well equipped, so basically not really for cooking majorly, thus missing utensils or cheap versions. - dining chairs are too low - place smelled like dog first few days, floor needs better cleaning! Good coms/fixes: - shower at first didn’t work properly, but they came fast and fixed. Generally we enjoyed the place only to an extent, that it was nice architecture with a view a lot of animals around, quite private, large dining deck and cool at night, but the location is high in hills and therefore much cooler, wetter and in clouds, so hardly touched the pool and when wanting outdoors we went to the valley for sunshine. We stayed in the Tucan villa, the pool was perfect and the covered deck was great on warm rainy days. The staff was super friendly and easy to connect with through What’sApp. Uvita beach is a short drive away, lots of good restaurants nearby. We stayed 12 nights and didn’t want to leave! We used the laundry service, which was fast and a great price. The resort also arranged a massage for us and they came right to our room - it was also fantastic! The location is far enough from the busy town of Dominical and Uvita yet close enough to go into for shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The property was beautiful! The condo was comfortable, clean, modern and had everything we needed. The water was safe to drink, hot showers, BBQ. We used the laundry service it was quick and a good price. We seen monkeys, Toucans, parrots, and Morpho butterflies from the beautiful pool and lounge area. The customer service was amazing and everyone was very happy and friendly. They arrange a wonderful message for us and the therapists came to our room (it was SO GOOD!) the location is far enough away from the busy Dominical town, yet close enough for a visit and some shopping. Short drive to many beautiful beaches, gas stations, restaurants, waterfalls and shopping. Great communication from booking to check out. Jessica and her team did not disappoint!! Highly recommend CanaVida.

The property consists of approximately 10 individually designed villas. So, I can only comment on our villa. Almost new, could do with wardrobes or at least more shelving. Access road is 6km along a very uneven dirt track, steep in parts. Managed with a smallish 4x2 SUV, but you would def be better off with a 4x4. Beautiful views, birds and the sunsets were gorgeous.

We drove from Ojochal side and the Google map link took us through the right road side. We eventually did get there. We stayed in Toucan (3 bedroom). The communication was on point. The road is indeed unpaved and it takes us about 15 min. We did have a 4x4 but didn’t really need to use the function only when it rained. We did notice the adjoining bedrooms, we can hear each other’s conversation. We were 2 couples and had to decide which rooms would give us more privacy. The place was real nice and cool. There’s AC in all the bedrooms and living room. The kitchen has most of what you’ll need to cook a meal. We couldn’t get the AC on and it was immediately addressed. We had to play with the shower to get the right temperature. It’s either very hot water or cold. We didn’t get a chance to address this. We’d stay here again. We felt safe and comfortable.

Beautiful location on the mountain but it is up a dirt road approx 15 minutes from the main paved road. The place was clean, sizable, and had all the amenities needed. The pool outside had gorgeous views. This place really makes you feel like you are in nature and we saw many birds (toucans, parrots, guan and turkey vultures). We heard the monkeys late in the evening and at night but never did lay eyes on them. From our table outside we could see the boats chasing the whales while we ate breakfast. We could see the whales spout/blow and even could see the tails as they eventually dove deep. It was a peaceful place.

This property never communicated with me or sent over any information regarding my stay. There is literally no way to communicate with anyone there. We ended up driving 15 minutes up a dirt road to try and find the property hoping a manager would be there and there was nobody there. I have tried contacting the property through expedia, through their website and calling the “number”. Absolutely no communication. I got charged almost 300 dollars and I fully expect this to be refunded promptly.

We stayed for 8 nights in the Caracara house. It had everything we needed and had a great stay! Alberto and all the staff were helpful, friendly and amazing. The views were breath taking. We stayed in June 2025, during the rainy season and were so thankful we rented a 4wheel drive vehicle. We explored a lot and had a blast!

An INCREDIBLE time at Canavida. The area is stunning. The team that runs the resort is fabulous. We stayed at Casa Oropendola. The view of the Pacific was INCREDIBLE. As was the wildlife. The whale tail beach (and national park) is just down the hill and it's amazing. Playa Hermosa is also great (and has lifeguards). Loved the local waterfalls too (just a short drive away). I suggest renting a 4x4. It will make the drive easier. Lots of options for groceries at the bottom of the hill. We stayed for 6 nights and could have happily stayed even longer. FYI, Uvita is used to tourists so you can get around with little/no Spanish.

Great villa. All new and well maintained. Stunning location, close to the jungle and overlooking the pacific. House has all facilities. Be mindful there is a 15 min or so gravel road to the main road / village

Absolutely epic view. Incredible accommodations and very friendly staff. We had a very short stay and wish we could have been there longer. Highly recommend. The only challenge is the treacherous drive up/down the mountain. It is not paved and very rocky. You’ll need a 4x4 vehicle.

It seemed a very nice villa on top of the hills with a view. We were happy when we first arrived, though after 20 mins the electricity shut off, for 2,5 hours, in dark with kids, the team did respond real fast and the tech came by to fix the emergency light that didn’t work. Positives: - The view is very nice - the grounds are greener than on the pics - the house is quite large and rooms have good bathrooms, but villa 8 second bedroom is separate, weird! - the furnishing is nice wood, well styled - aircons work Not so goods: - long dirt gravel road 6km, also a positive, as we had a 4x4, so be sure to have a high clearance or 4x4. - no washing machine available - tiles throughout seem nice but when wet are extremely slippery! They put some strips down outside, but you must wear footwear…! - kitchen is good size, but not well equipped, so basically not really for cooking majorly, thus missing utensils or cheap versions. - dining chairs are too low - place smelled like dog first few days, floor needs better cleaning! Good coms/fixes: - shower at first didn’t work properly, but they came fast and fixed. Generally we enjoyed the place only to an extent, that it was nice architecture with a view a lot of animals around, quite private, large dining deck and cool at night, but the location is high in hills and therefore much cooler, wetter and in clouds, so hardly touched the pool and when wanting outdoors we went to the valley for sunshine. We stayed a week. Enjoy

We loved Canavida! If you want the hustle and bustle of a city, this place isn't for you. But if you want to be in the middle of nature with spectacular views, this place is heaven. It is well equipped with everything you need, and is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Just make sure to bring in whatever groceries you need before you start the drive up the long dirt road. The road was fine, but we were glad we had a 4x4 with high clearance. We could have driven without it, but it was easy with it.

Absolutely amazing location with stunning views. The property is new, well maintained, clean and has everything to need for your stay. We stayed in the Tucan villa, the pool was perfect and the covered deck was great on warm rainy days. The staff was super friendly and easy to connect with through What’sApp. Uvita beach is a short drive away, lots of good restaurants nearby. We stayed 12 nights and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely come back here if in Costa Rica again.

Las villas son hermosas, las vistas impresionantes! Nos encantó. Lo único que quisiera resaltar es que si os quedáis en villa oropendola, tener mucho cuidado si tenéis niños chicos. Para llegar a las villas también es un poco complicado. Es necesario tener vehículo todo terreno. Aparte de eso, todo estuvo genial. Muchas gracias!

Maison bien équipée avec une vue splendide. Explications fournies par la propriétaire pour atteindre la maison très claires. Par contre route d'accès cahotique sans 4x4 et longue (5km). Une fois qu'on a atteint la maison, on n'a pas très envie de ressortir dîner.

Beautifully furnished and comfortable condo nestled in a jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Sparkling clean infinity pool, full kitchen, BBQ pit on back patio, excellent service from host and staff. The 5k maintained rock road to get there from main hwy is a bit of a rough drive but well worth it. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and we have stayed at many wonderful places- but none as amazing as CanaVida. Only stayed 2 nights- wish we had stayed 2 weeks!

Canavida is an amazing place and we’re really happy we found it. It’s brand new and the owners are slowly building the place out so we were lucky to be one of the first people to stay here. From the start, David had great communication and was super accommodating when our trip was delayed. He also kindly upgraded us to a larger villa and the property was amazing. The living and dining room was spacious and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need to cook (the sushi and sake set was also a big plus). Having AC in the main rooms was a big plus as it does get hot when the sun enters the property. The best part was definitely the view and the pool - it was a fantastic place to watch the sunset every day. David and Jonathane were helpful throughout our stay, answering any questions we had promptly. They also have great local connections and were able to hook us up with tours and a surf school. The property is about a 10-15 minute drive up a dirt road from the main shops and restaurants of Uvita. We were there in the dry seasons and had no problem doing it in our SUV in 2WD but if it was wet 4WD would probably be needed. David also offered to have someone go down to Uvita for us if we needed something picked up and didn’t want to drive into town. Overall we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend Canavida to anyone looking for a place to stay in Uvita!

Our stay at the villa was excellent. The villa was very spacious with large, comfortable rooms. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the pool was well-maintained and beautifully lit even at night. Communication with the hosts was excellent! One drawback – the villa is located on a slope, which on the one hand offers a stunning view of the sunset and the ocean, but on the other hand can be a bit unsafe for small children. ⸻

What an excellent property! The family that runs it is dedicated to making sure all guests (including kids) have a great vacation. The property is fairly new, and the owners are always improving it. Behind the condos is a grassy area with a trampoline and badminton—perfect for kids or your inner child. Our six-year-old loved the pool and trampoline. At dawn and dusk, the property comes alive with the wildlife you come to Costa Rica to see. Have your binoculars ready by the pool deck for the show—and don’t miss the sunsets and starry skies. The condos were clean and well-equipped for cooking. The propane grills had everything we needed to grill out. It’s about 5KM/3Mi up the mountain, a 20-minute drive. We visited in March 2025 and used a driver (Caleb—highly recommend) to get up and down. It’s around 10Mil or $20 each way, worth it for the incredible views. I’ve traveled the world and this place will forever stand out. I’m already planning to stay for a month or two in the future. The team was excellent—very communicative and helpful—and even arranged everything with our driver Caleb, who was amazing and always available, including early morning pickups.

Wow what a view! This place is next level and has a fully stocked kitchen. I recommend bringing food to make as the closest store is quite the trek. We will be back!

The hotel is super clean, mattresses are comfortable and kitchen is fully equipped. View is just breathtaking, you can enjoy sunset from pool. Owner and staff are friendly and responsive, feels like home. Just only one thing to be aware of is gravel road to the property that takes about 15 minutes

The property was beautiful! The condo was comfortable, clean, modern and had everything we needed. The water was safe to drink, hot showers, BBQ. We used the laundry service it was quick and a good price. We seen monkeys, Toucans, parrots, and Morpho butterflies from the beautiful pool and lounge area. The customer service was amazing and everyone was very happy and friendly. They arrange a wonderful message for us and the therapists came to our room (it was SO GOOD!) the location is far enough away from the busy Dominical town, yet close enough for a visit and some shopping. Short drive to many beautiful beaches, gas stations, restaurants, waterfalls and shopping. Great communication from booking to check out. Jessica and her team did not disappoint!! Highly recommend CanaVida.

We drove from Ojochal side and the Google map link took us through the right road side. We eventually did get there. We stayed in Toucan (3 bedroom). The communication was on point. The road is indeed unpaved and it takes us about 15 min. We did have a 4x4 but didn’t really need to use the function only when it rained. We did notice the adjoining bedrooms, we can hear each other’s conversation. We were 2 couples and had to decide which rooms would give us more privacy. The place was real nice and cool. There’s AC in all the bedrooms and living room. The kitchen has most of what you’ll need to cook a meal. We couldn’t get the AC on and it was immediately addressed. We had to play with the shower to get the right temperature. It’s either very hot water or cold. We didn’t get a chance to address this. We’d stay here again. We felt safe and comfortable.
