Strange checkin process, reception is at the Hub not in the Hotel, I may have missed communication on this but a lot of walking about just to check in Car chargers need bettering, current type have no instructions and no staff (5 of them) knew how they worked or more importantly released the cable!

Great family resort with beautiful gardens. We had a room overlooking a lovely garden that is great when you have pets and a small patio area to sunbathe. Breakfast was great and restaurant food ok. The Exeter Inn a few mins walk away is pet friendly and food is excellent. Indoor pool area was lovely and not very busy. Great fitness room as well.

Amazing place with lots to do. Pool was disappointing as it was quite cold and the changing rooms were in a terrible state and unclean. Food was fantastic, service was slow but the waiter/waitress were so very friendly. Room was lovely and clean

The room was fantastic. But could do with a few bits of maintenance. (Towel holders could do with being reattached. That sort of thing). Lovely old building, but the room was lovely and modern, with great features. Nice grounds and great views. Nice swimming pool. But the changing room was really cold. Pumping cold air in there wasn’t ideal. The only part that let it down was breakfast. We were greeted by a lady who looked like she didn’t want to be at work. She took us to a table set for 2. We were a party of 2 adults and a child. Then seemed put out that she had to do another setting. 2 of the party are gluten free and the woman was told this. The toast came out fine, but the breakfast came out with sausages containing gluten. We were asked how we would like our eggs. We asked for hard yolks or flipped. They came out runny. One of the younger girls came and took the breakfast away, removed the sausage but the eggs had only been “flipped” on the plate and not cooked any more. Eggs not cooked right isn’t too bad but to give someone something that that allergic too is poor. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy. The 2 younger staff members seemed much more helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again but would give breakfast a miss.

The property and grounds are amazing, largely unchanged over 20 years and it is still a nice place for a short break, pretty relaxing in a beautiful setting. Decent value in terms of price overall but - a big BUT too - if you expect great overall quality and luxury, it has changed a lot in terms of cleanliness standards and service compared to previous years. Friendly service but lacking in terms of quality, speed and consistency across various service areas like Hub, Breakfast, Bar and Restaurant. The pool area and rooms are tired and need refreshing. Restaurant food was nice, breakfast less so, and chaotic. The range of easy access activities for adults and kids is decent but again, seems to lack a bit of quality. Would return, but with different expectations, and would recommend too, but reservedly so.

Lovely grounds surrounding the hotel, however the stay was let down in several areas. Website photos were misleading when booking so we ended up in a ‘hotel room’ in an annex nowhere near the Manor House which we thought we’d be staying in. The service in the restaurant was poor, we had to ask to be served and still had not received our drinks 35 minutes after being shown to our table, food ended up arriving before our drinks. The swimming pool was nice, however the changing rooms were not, the floor was not clean at all, and they were too small for the size of the pool, the cubicles had no hooks, no seat, and not enough room to move around, it made getting changed difficult and not worth the effort for a swim. We also found the activities that the hotel offers were very expensive. On the positive side there was lots of parking available, lovely views and a good range of tv channels in the room.

Great all round experience, shower wasnt great, tried to book a massage but they didnt have staff. Food was lovely breakfast and dinner, sauna and steam room was great and a well equipped gym. The hub was good lots of reasonably priced foods and nibbles

We arrived in the dark after a trip to Rosemoor Glow and there was very little signposting that we could see to reception and then to our room when we eventually hit checked in. Meal in the restaurant was excellent although service if drinks was slow and mains came literally as soon as last mouthful of starter taken and plates hadn’t been cleared. Lovely peaceful sleep and to wake up the next morning to see the place in dayslight was beautiful. Breakfast was average - service good . Went to use the jacuzzi but wasn’t working which was most disappointing as pool too cold to swim in. The massage I booked was incredible so thank you .

Overall, we had a good stay at the Mole Resort. 3.5 stars ⭐️ There was a lot of activities to do, inside and out. The leisure facilities were a little outdated, however they were usable. The Jacuzzi was cold and the sauna was very small. Our room was great, as was the Manor. We stayed in the Manor Snug. Unfortunately the bed and pillows were very hard which meant we didn’t sleep the best. The food was amazing for us both, no complaints from us. We ate dinner and breakfast there. The servers were very attentive and friendly.

A very peaceful location. In a remote part of Devon. Lodges were first class, lots of activities for kids to do. Hot tub was a great extra on our balcony. Spotlessly clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Took a little while to navigate the lanes when going off site. Perfect break if you bring plenty of good food and wine and stay on site. Very good pub up the road serving tasty local produce too.

Extremely clean. Staff are very helpful and easily contaed via Whatsapp. Lots of activities available. The pub and restaurant served fantastic food. Really delicious and good quality. No drinking water in the room. Two small bottles of water provided but this isn't enough so we were dehydrated and got a headache. Balcony was green and slimy. It needed a good pressure wash and so was unusable. This was a bit disappointing as it was a lovely day and i fancied sitting out with a coffee.

Lovely hotel. Clean and tidy. Food at the hotel was good. Only negative was that I dropped my earring on the floor pulled the bed out and found loads of bugs, made me itch once I found out I had slept next to them. Just hope none have come home with me.

Having not stayed here since it became the Mole Resort (stupid name), we were very disappointed with how the hotel is now—an afterthought and clearly not a priority. This hotel used to be great, with great quality service, rooms, and food. However, this venue is now short-staffed in every department, food quality is average, and the rooms are not clean. The check-in was a joke as despite staying in the hotel, we had to walk around the complex to find the check at the bar at the Hub, which is poorly signposted and does not even mention hotel reception. In the main house, you have to walk down the station to the cellar bar each time you want a drink as no staff are around upstairs and join the large queue as again there is not enough staff. The restaurant service is very slow, and shorts and flip-flops are now okay for guests. The loft suite is now above the patio of the cellar bar and is very noisy, with people drinking outside. It was a very disappointing stay, and we will not stay again.

It was a first return since It ceased to be high Bullen. I last stayed here 12 years before. Much had changed and mostly for the better. The staff were very helpful and the service was perfect everywhere. We stayed one evening and left very early in the morning. I needed the wi-fi for urgent work and it was great. We had a drink in the bar and a meal in the restaurant. The meal was a disappointment. We both chose the lobster and plaice ravioli as it sounded delightful. It looked very pretty when it arrived but the white blob in the middle could have been anything. There was no hint of any lobster or fish flavour as it had been covered in a citrus sauce that was so strong that it smothered everything else. Indeed the sauce was so strong that it could not be eaten with the bread (which surprisingly we had to ask for) My wife had the braised beef which she thought was delicious and would have been perfect if it had been a bit hotter. I had the sirloin steak which I asked for "rare". Unfortunately it was overcooked and arrived as medium - with only a hint of pink The chips were excellent We were one of only 2 tables in the restaurant so the chef was not under pressure and small mistakes ruined our meal. It was a first return since It ceased to be high Bullen. I last stayed here 12 years before. Much had changed and mostly for the better. The staff were very helpful and the service was perfect everywhere. We stayed one evening and left very early in the morning. I needed the wi-fi for urgent work and it was great. We had a drink in the bar and a meal in the restaurant. The meal was a disappointment. We both chose the lobster and plaice ravioli as it sounded delightful. It looked very pretty when it arrived but the white blob in the middle could have been anything. There was no hint of any lobster or fish flavour as it had been covered in a citrus sauce that was so strong that it smothered everything else. Indeed the sauce was so strong that it could not be eaten with the bread (which surprisingly we had to ask for) My wife had the braised beef which she thought was delicious and would have been perfect if it had been a bit hotter. I had the sirloin steak which I asked for "rare". Unfortunately it was overcooked and arrived as medium - with only a hint of pink The chips were excellent We were one of only 2 tables in the restaurant so the chef was not under pressure and small mistakes ruined our meal. I did however understand why there were only 2 tables occupied in the restaurant and would not return.

The stay was incredibly relaxing and the room amazing. Sadly our safe remained broken the entire time. Shelby and Brendan were superb teachers for archery and axe throwing- we had so much fun! Highly recommend a visit

Had a junior suite in the manor house, very spacious & bay windows. Easy parking. Bed base just slats, bit hard. Bathroom bit tired, floor wonky, no night light had to put big bright light on if went to loo in the night.

Overall, we had a good stay at the Mole Resort. 3.5 stars ⭐️ There was a lot of activities to do, inside and out. The leisure facilities were a little outdated, however they were usable. The Jacuzzi was cold and the sauna was very small. Our room was great, as was the Manor. We stayed in the Manor Snug. Unfortunately the bed and pillows were very hard which meant we didn’t sleep the best. The food was amazing for us both, no complaints from us. We ate dinner and breakfast there. The servers were very attentive and friendly.

Having not stayed here since it became the Mole Resort (stupid name), we were very disappointed with how the hotel is now—an afterthought and clearly not a priority. This hotel used to be great, with great quality service, rooms, and food. However, this venue is now short-staffed in every department, food quality is average, and the rooms are not clean. The check-in was a joke as despite staying in the hotel, we had to walk around the complex to find the check at the bar at the Hub, which is poorly signposted and does not even mention hotel reception. In the main house, you have to walk down the station to the cellar bar each time you want a drink as no staff are around upstairs and join the large queue as again there is not enough staff. The restaurant service is very slow, and shorts and flip-flops are now okay for guests. The loft suite is now above the patio of the cellar bar and is very noisy, with people drinking outside. It was a very disappointing stay, and we will not stay again.

Stayed for 2 nights with my 10 year old daughter and nearly 80 year old mother and both felt catered for and had a lot of fun. The food was excellent, however waiting staff in the evening were a little slow. The activities and facilities are vast. We were fortunate to have Liam as our Activity lead and he was absolutely brilliant. Patient, funny, spoke to each age group with the right level of explanations and despite no one knowing each other in each class, by the end we were all championing each other... that was down to him, so thank you.

We had excellent customer service from reception upon arrival after a muddle up with our booking by Expedia. They sorted everything out for us on our behalf. In the restaurant, Ollie was very helpful, even though it was only his 5th day! He had a very pleasant manner and gave no indication that it was only his first week.

Beautiful place with lovely restaurant staff. However, communication with the resort was very poor—I emailed them multiple times and never received a response. Additionally, their method of charging my bank card was incredibly bizarre, resulting in a double charge and unnecessary complications.

The property and grounds are amazing, largely unchanged over 20 years and it is still a nice place for a short break, pretty relaxing in a beautiful setting. Decent value in terms of price overall but - a big BUT too - if you expect great overall quality and luxury, it has changed a lot in terms of cleanliness standards and service compared to previous years. Friendly service but lacking in terms of quality, speed and consistency across various service areas like Hub, Breakfast, Bar and Restaurant. The pool area and rooms are tired and need refreshing. Restaurant food was nice, breakfast less so, and chaotic. The range of easy access activities for adults and kids is decent but again, seems to lack a bit of quality. Would return, but with different expectations, and would recommend too, but reservedly so.

Wow, we had a 3 bedroom lodge with hot tub, and it was absolutely perfect 👌 Clean, spacious and beautiful views. Staff were very helpful, had to call as the boiler went off, they arrived promptly and fixed in 2mins. Shout out Will, great quiz and funny bingo night. Would come back in a heartbeat 💯

The attentiveness and willingness of staff was outstanding. The food cannot be recommended highly enough. The refurbishment and restoration of the site (used to be High Bullen Golf Club) is very impressive. My only comment would be for improved lighting and telephones in the rooms. We stayed in two Superior Estate Rooms and were also shown around the lodges which are self catering options, absolutely superb! Thank you to Alex, Roxy and Josh for making our stay so grest

Lovely grounds surrounding the hotel, however the stay was let down in several areas. Website photos were misleading when booking so we ended up in a ‘hotel room’ in an annex nowhere near the Manor House which we thought we’d be staying in. The service in the restaurant was poor, we had to ask to be served and still had not received our drinks 35 minutes after being shown to our table, food ended up arriving before our drinks. The swimming pool was nice, however the changing rooms were not, the floor was not clean at all, and they were too small for the size of the pool, the cubicles had no hooks, no seat, and not enough room to move around, it made getting changed difficult and not worth the effort for a swim. We also found the activities that the hotel offers were very expensive. On the positive side there was lots of parking available, lovely views and a good range of tv channels in the room.

In almost every aspect our holiday at the Mole Resort was outstanding. The setting is magnificent, the grounds beautiful and well kept. Both the breakfast and dinner were of significant high standard. The breakfast especially was the best we’ve ever experienced both in the UK and in Europe. In one noteable aspect we believe the hotel was lacking. Finding the location was difficult for us and the reception staff did nothing to help us in any tangible manner. It was only after we wandered up and down dale did one of them give us the post codes which directed us to the resort. On leaving the reception we’re brusque and did not even ask us if we had enjoyed our stay.

Stayed with friend with disability. The Manor House is totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. No lift and many steps and stairs to negotiate. Bar area does not have enough comfortable seating, so not an area to stay and relax. The restaurant is only accessed by stairs or steps down, and the toilets are on another level.

Great family resort with beautiful gardens. We had a room overlooking a lovely garden that is great when you have pets and a small patio area to sunbathe. Breakfast was great and restaurant food ok. The Exeter Inn a few mins walk away is pet friendly and food is excellent. Indoor pool area was lovely and not very busy. Great fitness room as well.

We and our dog had a nice visit to Highbullen. Annoyingly the room we had booked with a dog friendly filter was not in fact dog friendly and so we ended up in a different room type some walk from the main building. The room and food were good but there were relatively minor things that could be done to make the hotel much better - slightly less pumping music over breakfast, nicer changing rooms at the gym and spa, decent lighting for the walk at night between main house and our room, and some TLC of the snooker table.

A very peaceful location. In a remote part of Devon. Lodges were first class, lots of activities for kids to do. Hot tub was a great extra on our balcony. Spotlessly clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Took a little while to navigate the lanes when going off site. Perfect break if you bring plenty of good food and wine and stay on site. Very good pub up the road serving tasty local produce too.

Amazing place with lots to do. Pool was disappointing as it was quite cold and the changing rooms were in a terrible state and unclean. Food was fantastic, service was slow but the waiter/waitress were so very friendly. Room was lovely and clean

The room was fantastic. But could do with a few bits of maintenance. (Towel holders could do with being reattached. That sort of thing). Lovely old building, but the room was lovely and modern, with great features. Nice grounds and great views. Nice swimming pool. But the changing room was really cold. Pumping cold air in there wasn’t ideal. The only part that let it down was breakfast. We were greeted by a lady who looked like she didn’t want to be at work. She took us to a table set for 2. We were a party of 2 adults and a child. Then seemed put out that she had to do another setting. 2 of the party are gluten free and the woman was told this. The toast came out fine, but the breakfast came out with sausages containing gluten. We were asked how we would like our eggs. We asked for hard yolks or flipped. They came out runny. One of the younger girls came and took the breakfast away, removed the sausage but the eggs had only been “flipped” on the plate and not cooked any more. Eggs not cooked right isn’t too bad but to give someone something that that allergic too is poor. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy. The 2 younger staff members seemed much more helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again but would give breakfast a miss.

Decent value in terms of price overall but - a big BUT too - if you expect great overall quality and luxury, it has changed a lot in terms of cleanliness standards and service compared to previous years. Friendly service but lacking in terms of quality, speed and consistency across various service areas like Hub, Breakfast, Bar and Restaurant. The pool area and rooms are tired and need refreshing. Restaurant food was nice, breakfast less so, and chaotic. The range of easy access activities for adults and kids is decent but again, seems to lack a bit of quality. Would return, but with different expectations, and would recommend too, but reservedly so.

Fantastic room, very clean, great bathroom, all very nice and quite new, only issue was extractor in bathroom didn't work. Ate in restaurant at night, brilliant food, not cheap but well worth the money. Breakfast was also really good. Will be back if in the area.

A fantastic last minute weekend getaway! So many activities for everyone. The grounds are stunning, the staff super friendly and the hot tup at the property was a major plus! Only criticism was the breakfast was a little chaotic (perhaps we arrived at the wrong time) but we were made to wait a while for a table and the selection of cereals / Savory / milk was very sparse ! The dinner was good, but my wife did receive marmite butter when we clearly stated she was coeliac! We will be back with friends and family!!

Overall, we had a good stay at the Mole Resort. 3.5 stars ⭐️ There was a lot of activities to do, inside and out. The leisure facilities were a little outdated, however they were usable. The Jacuzzi was cold and the sauna was very small. Our room was great, as was the Manor. We stayed in the Manor Snug. Unfortunately the bed and pillows were very hard which meant we didn’t sleep the best. The food was amazing for us both, no complaints from us. We ate dinner and breakfast there. The servers were very attentive and friendly.

We had a wonderful break. Everything was superb, clean and nicely decorated. Staff were really welcoming. We ate at the restaurant two nights and the food was delicious. Couldn’t fault it. We will defiantly return.

We stopped at The Mole Meadow lodges while attending a wedding close by. It met and exceeded our expectations. Would certainly go back. We had a meal in The Cellar for approximately 27 people, was a little disorganised, would have been better if we would have been allowed to pre order food in advance. I would say that was the only thing I can criticise, but this may have been hampered as there seemed to be a good percentage of new staff. This did not spoil our stay. As I said earlier we would definitely go back.

Had no hot water on 2 days of our 3 days stay. Servicing of room not carried out as towels were not changed each day, beds were not made up and coffee and tea were not replenished until we phoned reception. The room bin was not emptied during our stay. We paid £472.50 for 3 nights stay.
