Lovely cottage, which provided perfect accommodation for us and our two spaniels. Comfy beds, with quality linen. Kitchen had been re-fitted since we stayed last year. Set in the heart of Exmoor, this was a great base to explore the region. When we visit the area, we always (8 times) book this cottage.

This is a truly magical spot. Really quiet and relaxing. The welcome pack was brilliant. Our dogs loved the gardens, as did we. I ordered food for our stay and this made the holiday complete as I could truly relax for our whole time here. Will be back as soon as we can....

We have just come back from a stay in Cascade Cottage. We cannot rate Cascade Cottage highly enough. It was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack of home made cake, bread, butter, jam, eggs etc was a wonderful gesture. Even the little extras of a lovely handwash in each bathroom and washing up liquid etc all supplied. There were also dog towels available too. Penny and Simon are excellent hosts and have thought of just about everything. Would highly recommend.

Love the cottage, great welcome of cake, fresh bread, eggs etc. Works so well for just the two of us and equally as well when some of the family come too. Ideally situated, plenty of parking and pretty much everything you need in this cosy cottage. Only suggestion would be as we had a toddler with us this time too, a fire guard would be helpful.

The property is well situated for exploring Exmoor, both on foot and by car. A short walk takes you to Exford where there are 2 pubs and a teashop(the hub for star gazing nights on a Thursday). There is also a fantastic playground on the green. We were welcomed with home baked bread, spreads and a delicious cake. The cottage has everything, even towels for our dog. There was milk and butter in the fridge and plenty of tea and coffee. The garden is gorgeous and was so relaxing sitting in the sunshine listening to the gurgling stream.
The property is well situated for exploring Exmoor, both on foot and by car. A short walk takes you to Exford where there are 2 pubs and a teashop(the hub for star gazing nights on a Thursday). There is also a fantastic playground on the green. We were welcomed with home baked bread, spreads and a delicious cake. The cottage has everything, even towels for our dog. There was milk and butter in the fridge and plenty of tea and coffee. The garden is gorgeous and was so relaxing sitting in the sunshine listening to the gurgling stream.

Apart from a milk top up we didn't need a thing for everyday drinks and snacks.\r Good facilities for dogs and their owners.\r Central Exmoor location makes planning trips easy with good B road access if you don't relish twisty high hedge lanes.\r The village has two good pub/hotels within a 10 minute walk although the Post office/General Stores is currently closed, hopefully only temporarily (June 2019).

On arrival the cottage was beautifully clean and very well presented, with the added bonus of a delicious cake, homemade jams the most gorgeous butter, milk and eggs... all really most appreciated. The cottage is very homely, and if you are looking for somewhere to simply relax that is quite but very accessible to the village (1/2 mile walk) then we would recommend. The village has a really good local shop, with local produce and there are two very good pubs - but book in advance for the evening meal! We used the cottage as a base for days out which for a week was perfect. The kitchen is the centre of the cottage and worked well for us as we all tended to sit in the kitchen rather than the lounge which we hardly used. In cooler months however we could see how the lounge with the log fire would be great. We loved Cascade Cottage-so well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches and the fresh cake and bread on arrival were simply delicious. The grounds provided a fabulous area for our 6 year old and 2 dogs. The location is wonderful with an easy walk into Exford and it’s a lovely village-looking forward to our next visit already!

On arriving at the cottage…..a lovely cake was sitting there to greet us….so tea and cake sitting in the sun on our first afternoon. What more could you ask for. The cottage was lovely and clean, with everything in in that you could ask for. it was like being at home but better. Thank you for such a lovely holiday. Cascade cottage is very special.

The perfect country cottage. Clean and very well equipped. Steep steps to bedrooms which may prove difficult for some guests, but to be expected in a cottage. Lovely gardens and two pubs in walking distance. Delicious cake and homemade bread, some fresh eggs, butter and milk which were much appreciated. Well organised for COVID. Lovely comfy bed, crisp sheets and fluffy towels. A perfect place for our wedding anniversary. Will recommend to friends.

Cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped and the homemade cake, bread and jam in the welcome pack were delicious The new covid-19 procedures are straightforward and gave us confidence that our stay would be 'safe' Great to see the village shop has re-opened , it is well stocked and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Idyllic location surrounding by streams and waterfall. Very close to village. Cottage was exceedingly well equipped. It was lovely to be treated to a huge home baked cake, fresh bread, eggs, jams, milk and butte on our arrival. Beds were very comfortable, bath towels soft and bed linen fresh. Perfect.

Cascade Cottage was a warm and comfortable cottage that was equipped to a very high standard. The owners had provided a welcome package including a beautiful cake that made a great start to a great holliday! I would fully recommend this cottage, and I hope to return in the future.

Lovely cottage in a lovely area. Amazing homemade cake, bread, and jam on arrival. The cottage was equipped with everything you might need. The third bedroom which is accessed through 2nd bedroom is ideal for children. Very nice, would highly recommend.

We have been to Cascade cottage many times, it is a delight to come back time after time and still love it so much, from the scrumptious cake,bread, and preserves, to the comfortably beds and fabulous location. Exmoor walks are to die for from coast to moor there is no better place in England (that's my opinion). Thank you Simon and Penny for allowing us to share a place in paradise!!!

Very high standard of decoration and facilities, all very well appointed. Quiet and peaceful, walks from the door for the dog. Food, service and atmosphere in The Crown in Exford very good. Exford is an excellent location for exploring. Hosts very helpful.

Apart from a milk top up we didn't need a thing for everyday drinks and snacks.\r Good facilities for dogs and their owners.\r Central Exmoor location makes planning trips easy with good B road access if you don't relish twisty high hedge lanes.\r The village has two good pub/hotels within a 10 minute walk although the Post office/General Stores is currently closed, hopefully only temporarily (June 2019).

We really enjoyed our stay at Cascade Cottage. On arrival the cottage was beautifully clean and very well presented, with the added bonus of a delicious cake, homemade jams the most gorgeous butter, milk and eggs... all really most appreciated. The cottage is very homely, and if you are looking for somewhere to simply relax that is quite but very accessible to the village (1/2 mile walk) then we would recommend. The village has a really good local shop, with local produce and there are two very good pubs - but book in advance for the evening meal! We used the cottage as a base for days out which for a week was perfect. The kitchen is the centre of the cottage and worked well for us as we all tended to sit in the kitchen rather than the lounge which we hardly used. In cooler months however we could see how the lounge with the log fire would be great. We had a small dog and the cottage worked well as there is small gravelled area in the front of the cottage and a little bridge (gated) over the stream to the lawn / patio area. We would stay again at Cascade Cottage.

We loved Cascade Cottage-so well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches and the fresh cake and bread on arrival were simply delicious. The grounds provided a fabulous area for our 6 year old and 2 dogs. The location is wonderful with an easy walk into Exford and it’s a lovely village-looking forward to our next visit already!

Idyllic location surrounding by streams and waterfall. Very close to village. Cottage was exceedingly well equipped. It was lovely to be treated to a huge home baked cake, fresh bread, eggs, jams, milk and butte on our arrival. Beds were very comfortable, bath towels soft and bed linen fresh. Perfect.

The property is well situated for exploring Exmoor, both on foot and by car. A short walk takes you to Exford where there are 2 pubs and a teashop(the hub for star gazing nights on a Thursday). There is also a fantastic playground on the green. We were welcomed with home baked bread, spreads and a delicious cake. The cottage has everything, even towels for our dog. Cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped and the homemade cake, bread and jam in the welcome pack were delicious The new covid-19 procedures are straightforward and gave us confidence that our stay would be 'safe' Great to see the village shop has re-opened , it is well stocked and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
