The Abbey Inn & Spa

Nice spacious, clean room. But had no bath. Staff sent confusing messages changing appointments at spa and restaurant a few times due to weather they said. Main Elevator with carpet had strange smell. Otherwise hotel facility was nice. Have to walk to gym in basement of a nearby apartment building, which is a bit of an inconvenience. Nd front desk lady did not explain where gym was. So we walked around. Building inside trying to find it for a bit. There was no sign for it. View is nice except for billowing smoke from across river coming from some sort of facility. People cleaning up snow kept me up for a bit, which was unfortunate. Overall nice place but not perfect!

Liked everything about it but would have liked access to an onsite fitness facility and steam room / sauna access

The hotel is beautiful both the interior and exterior. If you’re looking for a relaxing and intimate setting this is the place for you. Spa staff and treatments were excellent. Special environment for adults.

The property charged me nearly $400 over my bill and when I called to inquire barely offered an apology. It seems their system charged me the difference between the rate I had prepaid on hotels.com and their public rate. I wonder how many other people this happens to as it seemed to be an automatic system. I called the property ahead of time to ensure access to the sauna and was assured it was ok. Upon arrival the spa told me the spa area is for those receiving a service only. This seems odd because of the $40 resort fee. When I inquired what this fee referred to I was given a list like "high speed internet" and "the gym" which are standard at most hotels without an additional fee. Overall its a nice place but one that does not seem to have concepts of hospitality in its policies and systems.

This place is amazing. The site is heavenly, with views of the Hudson and a pool and trails. I wish the restaurant/ bar were open later. But really, the place was perfect.

Broken lights in the rooms, broken button to summon the elevator, the employees were pleasant but not overly nice. The restaurant was fine, but nothing special. For the price this hotel should have done better.

The Abbey was a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary. The rooms are just as stunning as the views. The staff is amazingly accommodating. The food in their in house restaurant was delicious. On top of all that the facility was spotless!

We had a great stay at this property! The hotel is beautiful, with stunning grounds and a breathtaking view. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff were not only professional but also genuinely kind and helpful throughout our visit. The only downside was the lack of soundproofing—we could occasionally hear noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway. That said, it didn’t take away too much from an otherwise relaxing and enjoyable experience. Would definitely return!

I had been to the abbey during a snowstorm 2 years ago and when thinking of a nice retreat away from the city I remembered this hotel. 2 years ago, it was bustling with spa goers, the restaurants were opened and guests had access to a gym and indoor whirlpool to unwind after a day of hiking nearby trails. There were even rocking chairs in the porch with a great refreshment hour. Fast forward, all these touches are missing! Sadly, they replaced the rockers with high top tables, restaurants don’t have daily breakfast, and there isn’t a whirlpool available to the guests. The restaurant changed significantly also- I remember coming with a friend and raving about the food- candied fig and prosciutto salad, bone marrow, and sticky toffee pudding with crème anglaise. The food was just okay. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful and then you make your way through the carpeted hallway to the single elevator that smelled like rotting garbage. Definitely not what you would expect at this price point. The elevator had different smears on the walls and the carpet was filthy. Checked into my room and the benches in front of the bed had visible stains on it. I am a very clean person and thankfully I brought my own cleaning supplies, and when I cleaned the toilet seat the Lysol wipe was dirty. Unfortunately, the area is a sleepy town and not as walkable as other Hudson River towns. There were very limited places to shop or dine at and further added to the disappointment.

First time stay. Beautiful property and hotel. Couple Swedish massage was A+ Great and friendly staff. Did not try the restaurant, but looked amazing. Extremely clean room and public spaces. Highly recommended and will return.

What a beautiful place! This place blends perfectly an old small castle like exterior with a beautiful modern interior! I love my room! I especially the bathroom, & Large TV which you can cast on to! The sunset views from the pregola in front of the hotel are incredible, I just wish they had another area somewhere with another pregola and another four seats.

The property is even more beautiful than the pictures show. The staff were all very pleasant. In particular, Erin was very helpful with some Expedia reservation issues. Our room was spacious with a nice sitting area and beautiful view of the river.

The services are poor and bizarre—no breakfast on a Tuesday, for example! And the staff seem demoralized and not interested in problem serving (with the exception of the bar tender who was a delight and very kind). Maybe they’re having staffing issues? Feels more like dreadful management

The Abbey Hotel & Spa was a beautiful hotel in the mountains. It was quiet, clean & comfortable. The entire hotel staff was very friendly & accommodating. The Appropos restaurant was top notch. We would definitely make plans to return again.

Beautiful property. Gorgeous renovation with attention to every detail. Room view of Hudson River and sunset. Had brunch, dinner and breakfast and enjoyed them all. Easy hikes in woods on property, seeing fall foliage. Did not use spa - prices high. Proximity to Bear Mountain and Hudson River towns. Wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday with a one night stay.

Great place to stay one hour away from Manhattan. Friendly staff and very clean environment

The Inn is a historical and gorgeous building in an incredible setting on a hilltop with amazing views. When outside you feel as though you are in a European village. The interior is filled with lovely artwork, photography and sculptures. The furnishings are nice but not impressive, particularly the guest bedrooms. The restaurant was pretty but I was expecting more from the quality and taste of the food, especially given the fact that the hotel boasts mention in the Michelin Guide. All in all an exceptional stay.

Beautiful property. We had a wonderful couples massage & greatly enjoyed our room. The mattress & pillows were so comfortable, which is hard to find. Most significantly, the restaurant was a 10/10. I highly recommend the steak and pasta dishes for dinner. Breakfast was also amazing. A romantic & special property. We will be back.

Hotel is beautiful, but very limited things to do. Just one restaurant with very slow service! Food was good, but service was disappointing! Also, it was freezing in the restaurant, They could have done something for the heat I guess. It is not a cheap hotel at all!
