Círculo Mexicano, a Member of Design Hotels

Hotel is in a fantastic location... however, even the taxi driver couldn't get to it and drove in circles till we offered to walk the last bit. The hotel itself is inside a lovely old building just off the main palace square. You have to walk through a couple of shops and a restaurant into the dark depths of the building to find the reception... the lighting is so dim it feels like you are walking into a black hole which is disconcerting. The loos just off the main hallway are even darker if that's even possible and you literally can't see the door to get out once inside (the communal bathrooms!). Our room had an inner window overlooking an atrium which seemed to look down on someone else's patio below. The wooden shutter in the shower faces the public walkway, so be careful when showering you're not on full display to the world! The bed is very comfortable if a little on the short side - my 6'1" husband's feet stuck out beyond the bottom of the bed. There's a tricksy step down from the bed ready to catch you out on a nocturnal loo visit. The loo btw is in a cupboard! Music from somewhere in the building boomed into our room late into the night, so don't plan on a restful sleep. We were rudely wakened by some building work clanging next to our room at 0740. I understand the need to conserve energy, but the lighting really needs to be improved, it's way too dim. Nice enough roof top, no loungers though and food/drinks bit pricey. Sounds a bit whingy, but it is a nice place.

Círculo is a revelation. Beautifully designed bedrooms, friendly staff and a thoughtful space. The roof top is well thought out. The bar could be more lively - it was empty most of the time and smoking is not permitted. But overall wonderful stay.

Me encantó el diseño del hotel. El ascensor es muy lindo, hay un olor muy agradable. La vista desde el rooftop es wow. Lo que no me gustó es que no hay reposeras para tomar sol. Solo hay sillas y mesas para comer o tomar unos tragos entre amigos. Me hubiese gustado que la piscina esté temperada, al ser mayo es entendible que no hay tanto sol, sin embargo nadar era algo difícil para el cuerpo, por lo que se sentía helada. Por otro lado el agua que venden en la habitación no es simple de abrir, necesitas un abre botellas. No había ninguno en la habitación, por lo que tuve que llamar para que me lleven uno. Sinceramente, esto fue lo que más me molesto. Se demoraron demasiado en llevarlo. Para ser exactos, era de noche. Para finalizar, lo que más me gusto fue la onda boutique chic.

Círculo Mexicano is a wonderful and fantastic place to stay in the historical center of Mexico City. The opportunity to walk around anywhere within 20 to 30 minutes brings you to so many fantastic restaurants, bars, and hidden little gems. It is a unique place, a boutique hotel with around 20 rooms so you don’t feel crowded, at least when I was there. I loved the rooftop pool, the sauna in the morning to use, and the bonus free shots of tequila upon arrival are pretty sweet! Daily free breakfast to me the order was delicious, as well as the coffee. I’m pretty sure coffee everywhere in Mexico is delicious as I travel here often. Special shout out to some of the amazing stuff upstairs including Mauro, Angel, Kevin, Francisco, and the office staff were friendly and professional as well… The views from the rooftop were pretty incredible. Don’t hesitate to book this place, when I return to CDMX I will strongly consider returning to this hotel

This is a lovely hotel with a stunning rooftop. On the rooftop there is a cold water pool which is wonderfully refreshing, a restaurant-bar, and gorgeous views of the historic centre. The room was really nicely decorated with brushed concrete and pastel cream colors. The windows of this room give onto an internal courtyard - not a big deal… for privacy you can close them. Minor suggestions: a little more little in the bathroom (mirror) and a dimmed light at the foot of the platform on which rests the bed (because it’s quite dangerous to navigate that in the dark)

best hotel in Mexico City by far. The location can’t be beat and the view from the rooftop is unreal. service is excellent and we spend most of our time between the rooftop sauna and jacuzzi. The design and layout is stunning, you are lucky if you have the opportunity to stay here.

Room was big, modern and clean. The hotel was In a great location and had 24 hour security guard. Would recommend and stay again.

Property needs to improve their maintenance and better seal the ceiling. Too many water leaks creating a hazard around the hallways.

Jug of water left in the room for consumption was poisoned/contaminated with what I can only assume to be a floor cleaner liquid or room odoriser oil. Only noticed once I downed a glass of it, which caused nausea and stomach problems at 10pm before our long haul return flight at 8am the next day. When contacted, lady at reception couldn’t care less, offered no apology or remedy. And when called numerous times to ask for clean water, she simply ignored (in fact she was playing on her phone while the phone was ringing as seen by my partner). Clean hotel and nice views of cathedral, but awful and appalling service from staff, plus intentional contamination of water in the room.

IN BOTH ROOMS THE BASIN WAS CRACKED. The deluxe room had more cracks and dirty.

This hotel was probably one of the nicest hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at. Incredible facilities, cleanliness, and the staff were so kind and helpful. The surrounding area was not my favourite as there were lots of people and many big box shops vs. smaller local boutiques. Despite this, it was worth it to see the historic area and buildings that are famous to Mexico City. The building design and the room with all of the finishings were stunning and minimal but especially comfortable, providing an oasis in the middle of a fairly busy district. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Rooms are like greenhouses. They have an interior patio with glass ceiling which makes the room extremely hot. The lack of operating windows makes this hot condition even worse. Their air conditioning equipment is not sufficient to cool down the rooms. Even hotel staff admitted this was a recurring problem. It’s not pleasing to pay this much to wake up soaking in sweat.

The room was amazing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee shop and restaurant in the hotel made everything very convenient.

Rooms were architecturally interesting as is the entire hotel - roomy and great beds & shower. The breakfast which was included was delicious with a gorgeous setting in the rooftop across from the cathedral- with jacuzzi, sauna, small pool and deck and bar. And the rooms were QUIET. The staff was lovely. Right near the Historic Centro. Great oasis in the middle of all the history. Unique layout.

The room was nice, but our room was connected to the room below via a vertical shaft (presumably for light) so that we could see into and hear the room below. We found this aspect to be unacceptable. Beyond the lack of privacy and noise, the bed was comfortable, the staff were incredibly helpful, and the roof and breakfast each morning were a highlight.

Esta padrísimo el lugar y el concepto pero para nada son insonorizadas las habitaciones, de hecho nos tuvimos que cambiar de habitación (de la 202 a la 209) porque no pudimos dormir por el ruido del cuarto de maquinas o ya no supe que era. Cuando nos cambiaron de habitación si mejoró mucho lo del ruido, aunque se escuchaba demasiado la tos de otro huésped, así como el timbre de la puerta. La habitación no incluía ni pantuflas ni batas (lo cual decía que venía incluido). Comimos unos churritos de la habitación (el precio no venía en la carta, se nos hizo fácil) y nos los cobraron en $290 (se me hizo demasiado).

I, wouldn’t bother making reservations here staff is not helpful and don’t care to help in any way, shape or form. The property looks nice in pictures and videos, but what makes it a better experience are the staff in any establishment, like any other business. The quality of the business is a reflection of its staff. There’s probably better options in and around the area. I would definitely stay away from círculo Mexicano

Nice hotel with a very friendly staff. I ended up being ill during my stay and they allowed me to extend my checkout until 2pm.

Beautiful property right in the heart of the historic center. Couldn’t be more centrally located.

Noisy and streets were closed off so getting luggage to and from taxi/uber was not great

Loved the hotel, staff and amazing location. Just be aware the hotel is across the street from an historic cathedral that is closed to taxis/ubers so you need to walk a couple of blocks to get picked up or dropped off. But the location is totally worth it!

The breakfast was a great highlight, we found ourselves to be excited for what pastry selection we were going to be offered each day as they were one of the best we’ve had. Also, inside the hotel there is absolutely no issues with the noise from outside, at least in the room we were in, but the rooftop and as soon as you exit the hotel means that you entering a busy and touristy area.
