I always love to stay at this property. This is probably my 10th time in this Holiday Inn Express. It is an easy walk to the airport. Nice gym. Really good breakfast. The staff is always friendly and the place is impeccably clean.

Very clean and modern building and excellent location right next to Dumdum (Kolkata) airport annex Excellent food options, specially if you add the half track (breakfast and dinner) option to your reservation. They upgraded us to their high end restaurant for dinner buffets Breakfast buffet has adequate for us. It is lot better than state-side hotels of the same chain, but breakfast buffet in better hotels in India always tend to be elaborate- 5star by US standards We chose the location specifically as our inbound blight came at an ungodly hours of 3am and the old fashioned (but excellent) guest house I planned to stay did not have 24 hour checkin.. so this hotel acted as a gap accommodation One caution to let them know beforehand to send a big enough car or suv for your pickup, and getting to the manager (to send the driver for pickup) could be challenging in the wee hours. They do not believe in writing down your flight number to track the arrival time (and send the driver on their own when your flight arrives) I need to add/mention the excellent security arrangements of manned gated entrance (the gatekeepers check the trunc of every inbound car) and every piece of inbound luggage or package gets crated (TSA style) before they let it inside. Elevators are card activated - another security measure.

I enjoyed my stay there and it’s an awesome location and also enjoyed the bar. As it’s a 5star hotel I was expecting better house keeping like providing iron, body lotion, slippers etc.

This is a perfect place to stay if you have a long lay over. I was picked up at the airport late at night and they took me back in the morning. Everything was high quality. They even had breakfast for us and four bottles of water. I would recommend this place.

Quasiment le seul hotel qui permet de venir à pied à l’aéroport. Il faut tout de meme parcourir plus de 900 metres dans des conditions pas terrible. Sinon le prix de la navette est relativement chere pour le pays : 7 euros. La chambre est très bien pensée. Dommage qu’il n’y ai pas de early breakfast.

We only spent a few hours on a stopover. Staff were very attentive & offered a bag breakfast. Airport transfer back to terminal was great but I did not receive any response to a message via hotels.com requesting a transfer on arrival.

Poor Communication by hotel staff. The room I booked included a meal and I enquired about this during check in. The receptionist told me it could be either a lunch or a dinner and to speak to the restaurant staff about it. After checking into the room, we went to the restaurant for lunch and explained that our room included a meal and asked what we could order. Our waitress replied that we could order anything and gave us the a la carte menu. The food was applied to our room bill. When we went to check out (at 00:30am) we were informed by staff on the desk that we would need to pay for the meal we had received as the free meal only applied to the buffet. I explained that we had asked 2 staff members regarding this and had been given the wrong information and issued the wrong menu but we were still expected to pay for our meal. As we were rushing to leave for the airport (desk staff were well aware of this as they had arranged the transfer) I paid the bill but feel scammed by it. In addition, out room smelled of damp but I did not mention this as we were only there for a 10 hour layover. There were used cotton buds under the bed from a previoujs guest.

I booked this hotel as it was near the airport and i had an early morning flight. I was only in the hotel for 7 hours. The room was dirty (there were crumbs all of the table and hair in the bathroom). I was glad i was not staying the night. The food was okay but not memorable.

I walked with my luggage from the Kolkata airport to the Holiday Inn Express (no ATMs)...about 800 yards/meters in 90-degree heat. Bellhops were friendly and courteous when I arrived, front desk not so much. Maybe the sweat pouring off my head unnerved them. Since I arrived from an early flight I had to pay Rs1000+ early check-in fee, which, though i had mentioned my early arrival in previous communication, they failed to mention the fee. Room was comfortable, first room smelled of smoke so they readily gave me a room that didn’t. Comfortable bed, nice rain shower, good supply of hot water, no A/C issues. Room cleaner was uncharacteristically helpful and friendly when my room key card wasn't working. Overall, however, a pretty good experience and i would stay again if in transit because of the conveniently located hotel.

Staff was unfriendly, bordering on rude. They should be positive and friendly to the customer. They gave me a tiny room across from the elevator. Very loud. The shower head was broken. Just not a good experience. I should reiterate that the welcoming staff was not welcoming They were surprisingly uncordial.

I used to be a regular visitor at this property. Lately the service quality has gone down considerably. Given the nature of the property (express hotel), amenities are fine, but staff needs to be trained to uphold the standards of the brand. I found that lacking. I would not recommend this to my friends and family. There are other brands that have much better service at similar price points.

Service is terrible. The room didn’t have all the amenities and upon asking it took hours before anyone provided it. The room with 2 occupants had one towel and the other upon multiple requests came 3 hours later. 3 items ordered at Lunch at the restaurant, after 45 min was informed that one dish is not available and replacement was ordered. After another 45 min food was still not delivered. Disappointed that this low levels of service was delivered by IHG group! Overall the worst experience and would never stay here again nor recommend to anyone to stay here.

The room stunk with smell of chemical. When I reported they said they have no other room available. They said the smell of chemical coming out of the carpet that they have sprayed with chemicals. We stayed out of the room most of the time. We were at the front desk and requested to make a local call since I did not have the local sim card. They told me to go back to my room and make the charge call. When at the desk there were many people hanging out with cell phones could have helped us make the important call. Left and right side of the hotel entrance was full of filth. The hotel management did not care how right outside the hotel looks. The breakfast bar did not have enough healthy choice. The menu was tired and boring. I paid about 180 dollars per night for a room for two two nights. They hiked up the price since there was a marriage day for locals. Overall the hotel lacked leadership and employees did not take pride in their job. I will not return to this hotel and most likely stay at the taj at the city center two location.

I appreciate the close proximity to the Kolkata airport. Easy enough to walk to it in about 10-15 minutes if you dont mind sweating a lot! The queen bed is very comfortable and I love the buffet breakfast, mostly Indian and delicious!

Property was ill-maintained, services are really bad. There is a saying, too many cooks spoil the broth - this place is exactly the same. Pricy, bad or no service. And seems nobody cares! ;) Good property at a prime location, good rooms and room service is good, restaurants and breakfast are bad, food is bad, restaurant service is bad and pricy.
