The Baltic Hotel

Room was spotless however it was too hot- no air con , just a fan which was insufficient . Also, I am 5ft 2. The lighting was so poor in the room I couldn’t put my make up on or do my hair, the bathroom light was a little better however I had to stand on the toilet to see in the mirror - and obviously not able to plug a hairdryer in ! Ok hotel , as long as you are over 5ft 7!

Staff were excellent and can’t fault. Lift not working yet stuck us up on 5th floor with kids. Hotel was not busy so would have been good to

We checked in to our 4th floor room and discovered that this hotel has no air conditioning and the windows do not open more than about two inches. We were given fans, one of which was broken and made a very loud rattling noise. It was 29C/85F in our room. The carpet was dirty and the shower had a huge spider in it. The blinds also had a remote control which was missing. The WiFi was so slow we couldn’t even find another hotel online because it kept timing out. We left and walked to another hotel and ate the cost. We did not stay.

Absolutely stunning hotel, fantastic location, friendly staff and incredible breakfast. No wonder its so highly reviewed we were really impressed. Personal preference but the bed was very soft, but we still had a fantastic stay. Super handy to be able to park right outside the hotel for free too!

Hotel offered good location within walking distance to city centre, late open bar however room was a little tired and cleanliness fell below expectations due to dust and body hair on sofa.

Easy to find, free overnight parking outside, easy check in and comfortable modern room.

This is a cool, comfortable, modern hotel. The features like electric blinds, matt black bathroom wear and Marshall Amp fridges give a relaxed, considered vibe. The bed was super comfy and love the idea of just phoning the main number for reception instead of the dated hotel phones. Breakfast was served late even on weekdays (the mushroom on toast was unreal!!) and the attached bar made some great cocktails. Only negatives were tiny tiny shower with nowhere to put toiletries, and sink that couldn’t adjust the temperature, meaning brushing teeth with warm water! Also, tea and coffee in room would have been more in keeping if fresh milk was provided, as well as a biscuit or something :) but I loved it and will definitely stay again!

I had high hopes, given the ratings, but a got the impression that a lot of money was put into it a few years ago, but that they had drastically cut costs since. The front desk staff were generally pleasant and friendly, and the decor was well done, although walls were scuffed. The space is in a fun, hip part of Liverpool with great dining nearby. However, my room wasn’t made up until I asked, and when I did, the cleaning felt rushed, with a half made bed. My first room had a broken toilet seat, and the front desk “upgraded” me to a room with a sofa bed, but the space was divided in a way that felt claustrophobic. Arrived home after a night out, and realized the toilet seat in the second room they was broken toilet. Told the front desk twice, said they’d fix it, but never did, and never updated me. Approached them a third time, was told that the toilet seats are detachable. I’ve never seen that, but why didn’t the first two people tell me? Breakfast was well priced, but the woman serving me spoke so softly I couldn’t hear her. When I needed something, I had to walk to the front desk area, where she was seated on the couch, on her phone. Food just ok, with minimal veggies or fruit. Liverpool was in the midst of a heat wave, and there was no a/c. They provided a fan, but it barely helped, so being in the room was unpleasant, and sleep was difficult. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Property was nice, staff were friendly. No elevator working therefore lots of stair cases whilst staying on the upper floors. Breakfast was poor, most items were cold.

Stayed for 3 nights midweek. They gave me and wife a free room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were incredibly friendly, room was awesome with a dedicated lounge area, two TVs and a great shower. Bed was super comfy too. The attached pub/bar (The Duck & Swagger) was a great place for a drink or two, sport on the big screen most of the time. Breakfast was also brilliant and just a fifteen minute walk to the city centre. Highly recommend.

Really friendly staff and great location. Rooms were quiet and clean. Hotel is quite basic, with dim lighting throughout. One drawback was that the beds are very soft, and a king is 2 mattresses together so there's a gap in the middle!

Hands down the best room I’ve ever stayed in. What a VIBE!! Completely clean top to bottom, towels so soft, linen crisp, a record player and records to play, clean soft carpet, gorgeous features throughout. The customer service was epic as well, couldn’t ask for better.

The location was convenient. Staff was wonderful. The room was big. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable. But it smelled. Not sure what it was - dirty carpet, bathtub mold, something rank. Definitely needs a good scrub and maybe some updates.

Nice looking rooms. Cleaning not great. Bin bags left all over our room, bed half made and abandoned. Breakfast was amazing but service varied massively. Great latte from some staff. One with no idea, made the worst coffee I’ve ever drunk so avoided ordering when he was working. Some staff amazingly friendly and helpful none female on the desk rude and aggravated that we asked for a taxi and that at another point our key wouldn’t work. Great location- a ten minute walk to the centre. Nice and quiet.

Quirky, cool, darkish, friendly, warm, clean

All the staff at the Baltic were fabulous. Service was perfect we even had a breakfast there. The room cleanliness was just perfect. I cannot fault this hotel. Keep up the good work. See you again.

The reason for my average review was the lack of quality sleep. Mainly due the noises from outside of hotel ( understand this can\'t be controlled by the hotel) and the temperature within the room. The heat woke me up several times because it was just too hot and I couldn\'t see a way of controlling it within the room. Another reason for the mark down on review was the lighting. Although I appreciate ambiance, I\'d also like to see what I\'m doing. not very friendly for women who want to put makeup on, as it\'s difficult to see. And why do hotels not think about things like having an electrical outlet near a mirror. Ended up resorting to take the mirror off the wall in order for the wife to "see" when straightening her hair.

Room was nice and clean but sink in main room instead of bathroom not ideal. Down side was bed was too soft and it was a bit small, the walls are thin so can hear people coming down the corridor. Location is ok if you don’t mind a walk into the centre. Staff really nice

Nice location rooms are good but the beds are terrible the mattress was so soft it was non existent as soon as you sat on the bed you felt like you were sitting on the head wooden board

This was a last minute replacement for a failed VRBO but was a highlight of the trip. A great vibe with very friendly staff. Easy walking distance to city centre and restaurants. Highly recommend.

Asked receptionist for bus directions to Anfield. She told us to take the #27 bus. The #27 does not take you to Anfield. We had to get off the bus and literally run for approximately 30 minutes and JUST made it to the start of the game but her misinformation made us miss the singing of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Very disappointing for me and my son.

Absolutely unbelievable! I'll keep this brief, but the rooms were lovely and spacious with everything anyone would need. But the staff!!!! They were absolutely amazing!! They went above and beyond to accommodate us! We arrived at about 10 when check in was at 3 and they let us get ready for a wedding in a spare room in another on of their hotels. They then proceeded to let us keep our stuff with them until the check in time, and they left everything in our rooms for us. Lastly my missus got a massive craving for a hot chocolate at 11:30 at night. So she decided to call reception to see if they had anything. They said unfortunately they didn't have any (which makes perfect sense at that sort of hour) and then to our surprise, 15 minutes later we get greeted at the door with 2 of the loveliest hot chocolates we've ever had. They have been incredibly helpful and so so welcoming, warm and friendly. And this is the short version!! Couldn't recommend them enough!!!

To access the room we had few steps and with a little baby this was not ideal. I asked the reception if it was possible to have a different room and they provided a free room upgrade, with a smile. The room was spacious and clean, with a really cool vibe. Breakfast is available a la carte with plenty of choices.

The hotel you could not fault although if you want a quiet hotel this isn’t for you. It’s in china town so a lot going on at night and if hot windows will need to be open which could then become noisy in the early hours We had to move rooms due to an event taking place more or less next to our room but the staff moved us without question .

This is a great independent hotel in Liverpool. Large, comfortable rooms, great staff and a location in the centre of town

Was ok, no minibar items there, no room service, no food being served apart from breakfast but it’s not a b&b? I have stayed here before and it was better. Hope it’s not on the decline as the rooms are funky!

Comfortable hotel in excellent location for the ACC - a 10 min walk away. What could be improved - unfortunately breakfast wasn’t available until 8am, which was too late for me as I had to be at the ACC by 8am. That’s unusually late for a hotel. It looked like they used to start at 7.30 according to their literature, so a shame it changed to later. Towels were changed every day, which is also unusual for a hotel these days, with no option to not get them changed and help save the planet.
