Absolutely wonderful place…would highly recommend. Everything as seen on the photos and in the description. Stayed in the 4 bedroom cottage, all with their own bathroom and ate is as celebrating a big birthday for one of the family. Staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough! Thank you!

Lovely quiet location and old gentile building. The gardens are lovely and breakfast was very good. Only downside for me and l did not check on booking, is there is no restaurant or bar area. For visitors who are travelling no issue buy as a business person meant food in my room. For a little while l was the only person in the property which made me feel like king of the castle, but l did check all the doors to ensure they were looked !
Lovely quiet location and old gentile building. The gardens are lovely and breakfast was very good. Only downside for me and l did not check on booking, is there is no restaurant or bar area. For visitors who are travelling no issue buy as a business person meant food in my room. For a little while l was the only person in the property which made me feel like king of the castle, but l did check all the doors to ensure they were looked !

Room was really great for the price we paid! Location is great, and the grounds are beautiful with horses and sheep. The room itself is really lovely, with lots of extras including massive towels and lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and a 24/7 area to top this up. The breakfast was really great too for a continental breakfast with loads of options. The staff were really friendly too and could not have been more welcoming. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will be returning!

Stayed here several times whilst my partner attends hospital appointments. We are treated like old friends, very welcomed and the owner really did go above and beyond for us after our most recent stay. We had a special request and ahe did not hesitate to assist. This place is home from home, a stunning location and property

Although not typically offered, Lawrence can provide a mighty, first-rate cooked breakfast if booked in advance. Mere Brook is a lovely place to stay. The house and grounds are beautiful and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self service but everything was fresh and well stocked. We travelled in for a football match and very easy to get into Liverpool. Probably better than going in via the M62. Will definitely book again and highly recommended.

Initially I had concerns as my tv/wifi didn't work, but I was upgraded (for free) to a better room with both tv/wifi working fine. The place is nice, a little hard to find maybe, but for me the difference is the people, they just make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

Fantastic staff - warm and welcoming, friendly and helpful. Wonderful comfy bed and powerful shower. Beautiful house with fantastic original features and surrounded by pretty garden for guests to enjoy. Delicious breakfast, home made biscuits and cakes. A little traffic noise when in the garden, but you could not hear traffic at all when inside the house. We loved the traditional decor and furnishings and although this is just my personal taste, I would have preferred this theme to be consistent rather than an eclectic mix of old/modern. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back.

Really beautiful place to stay showers are brilliant and bed is really comfortable would 100% stay again. Just as a caution be careful if coming in the evening time as some of the roads are pitch black at night and are a little wavy. But hotel itself is amazing

Second time for us to stay here. This time was disappointing as no one there to welcome us on arrival. Choice at breakfast also disappointing to anyone not wanting a cooked breakfast. Would not be going back.

Room was really great for the price we paid! Location is great, and the grounds are beautiful with horses and sheep. The room itself is really lovely, with lots of extras including massive towels and lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and a 24/7 area to top this up. The breakfast was really great too for a continental breakfast with loads of options. The staff were really friendly too and could not have been more welcoming. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will be returning!

Beautiful, historic home off a narrow country lane nicely converted to a B&B / guesthouse. Old charm with modern conveniences, pleasant grounds and plenty of on-site parking. Close to shopping center and other necessary conveniences, yet set in a quiet rural environment. Rooms are bright, clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Although not typically offered, Lawrence can provide a mighty, first-rate cooked breakfast if booked in advance. Smart kitchen facilities are available for early risers with coffee, tea, breads, cereals and juice, etc. Super staff! Our 3-day stay was delightful! We would certainly stay at Mere Brook House again.

Second time for us to stay here. This time was disappointing as no one there to welcome us on arrival. Choice at breakfast also disappointing to anyone not wanting a cooked breakfast. Would not be going back.

Lovely room and excellent communication for arrival etc. The reason I can’t give 5 stars is because of the poor breakfast offering. With the exception of the yogurt pots and fruit (which was grapes and a few blueberries) everything else was ultra processed (bread, cereal). Usually I’d have porridge. There was prepackaged chocolate porridge which gives you a sense of the rest. The coffee machine was one of those that you get at a petrol station - which you don’t expect these days in a good b&b. So we drove to get a decent coffee. If you’re in New Brighton’Sea Shanty’ does excellent coffee but get there early to grab a table. We will stay again but I’d bring breakfast.

Mere Brook is a lovely place to stay. The house and grounds are beautiful and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self service but everything was fresh and well stocked. We travelled in for a football match and very easy to get into Liverpool. Probably better than going in via the M62. Will definitely book again and highly recommended.

Fantastic staff - warm and welcoming, friendly and helpful. Wonderful comfy bed and powerful shower. Beautiful house with fantastic original features and surrounded by pretty garden for guests to enjoy. Delicious breakfast, home made biscuits and cakes. A little traffic noise when in the garden, but you could not hear traffic at all when inside the house. We loved the traditional decor and furnishings and although this is just my personal taste, I would have preferred this theme to be consistent rather than an eclectic mix of old/modern. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back.

Lovely quiet location and old gentile building. The gardens are lovely and breakfast was very good. Only downside for me and l did not check on booking, is there is no restaurant or bar area. For visitors who are travelling no issue buy as a business person meant food in my room. For a little while l was the only person in the property which made me feel like king of the castle, but l did check all the doors to ensure they were looked !

The property is superb and the place was spotless surrounded by beautiful countryside. The only issue was the breakfast, obviously there were no staff to serve at breakfast so it was a bit every man for himself, the food and drink is all laid out the night before so first up is best dressed. By the time we got down, 9.00 am there was no fruit or yoghurt left and a tiny bit of butter to go with the stale bread and pastries. I think a lot of people are basically pigs at a buffet and very rarely think of other people. Couldn’t fault the hotel but maybe a different way of serving up breakfast.
