Upon check in, both of our room keys did not work. The front desk was very attentive and tried to be helpful, however it took 3 visits to the front desk to get working keys (which still took multiple attempts to work). The property has wifi, however it did not reach our room so we couldn’t use wifi our entire stay unless in the hallway or in lobby. Staff was friendly but these were inconveniences for us.

Key cards barely worked. Sometimes you'd slide in twice, sometimes 20 times before it worked. Nicole was fine but the other staff member seemed indifferent. Asked for 4 coffee things and he seemed put out by this.

The building desperately needs new carpeting in the rooms, and the magnetic strip room door locks worked occasionally. The staff was friendly and very helpful despite the building needing a significant capital investment.

The elevator was broken. Being on the 3rd floor that wasnt a huge issue, however the room cards were very tempermental and so multiple trips up and down the stairs were required to get in the room. The beds are rock hard, and my room did not have a shower curtain. The random bleach splattered carpets were a little disconcerning as well. On the positive side, the room has huge and there were views from every window. The breakfast offered was not continental (like the website says), and is offered in the lobby. However, eating and drinking is not allowed in the lobby, so our options were to eat outside in the cold, or back up to our room on the 3rd floor (remember no elevator). Overall, it wasnt my worst experience, but far from the best.

We would stay there again it was comfortable and quiet. Only problem is the key card is very difficult to use and this was our second set. Front desk Staff affected by electronics. Took his 5 to 10 each time. Just frustrating. all good other than that

We arrived to a full power failure, which was scheduled but were not informed til the day of arrival. Small breakfast buffet but food was not hot. Door to our room was not working properly so a struggle everytime. Realize new owners but they have a lot if work ahead if them.

Like a lot of the reviews for this place have stated, the keycard system needs an upgrade and the rooms too. Nice enough hotel and a convenient location to stop for the night though. I would stay again.

The carpets in the pet friendly room we were given were filthy, with what I believe were excrement, urine, and possibly vomit stains and probably should have been ereplaced 2 or 3 years ago.

Over priced for what is received. We were located on the bottom floor next to outside walkway where everyone could see into our suite... no one-way blinds provided. Sofa was cat clawed. Hole in wall by entrance. Bathroom cabinet was falling apart. Holes in sheets. Very noisy from front end staff playing music loud at night through to morning. Connecting door that I assume went to reception, it was deadbolt locked, but no way to lock it on our side, so whomever on the other side of the door had access to our suite. Very overpriced for quality!

The hotel was in a perfect location for me. Everything was clean and in decent condition. Except for the carpets. The carpet were so unbelievably dirty. It was surprising because the rest of the place was super clean. I don't know if all the rooms are like this or just mine, but I was definitely not comfortable touching the carpet.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the condition of the room assigned to us during our recent stay at your establishment. Regrettably, the room was not prepared to an acceptable standard upon our arrival. Specifically, I observed the following issues: 1. The bathroom soap provided was already 3/4 used, indicating that it had not been replenished or replaced prior to our occupancy. 2. Dust was visibly falling from the ceiling fan while the bathroom was in use, which raises concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of the room. 3. The mattress appeared to be excessively worn, to the point where it is arguably beyond its useful life and should be considered for disposal. 4. Additionally, there was a significant amount of used Kleenex behind the bed, further underscoring the lack of thorough cleaning. These conditions were far from what we expected, and as a result, we did not enjoy our stay. I trust that you will address these concerns promptly to prevent future guests from experiencing similar issues.

The hotel seemed clean on arrival. When looking around the bed, I found socks and food that were not ours, so the cleaning could be better. The continental breakfast was very basic. The first day we did not get what we asked for as far as fruit and the second day we were told they ran out of muffins so it wasn’t much of a breakfast. There was also a food charge on our bill that I didn’t notice until after we had left that I’m unclear what we were charged for as we only had the supposedly included breakfast. I will say, there was a very helpful staff member on in the evenings and she had great suggestions of places to visit in the area and on other areas of the Island.

If I could, I would not stay again. Carpets were so dirty, couldn’t take your shoes off. Horrible bedding: mattress pad was too short and torn, so it was always bungled under the sheet, cheep sheets. No housekeeping even ones for 3 nights, garbage was not taken out even ones. For brown bag breakfast got 1/8 of an apple, one bite slice of small muffin and a sandwich with a spoon of something in the middle(didn’t eat it). All that for $221 per night. Staff was friendly.

1st room was dirty(handicap room) rusty water leaking from fridge onto floor, tub stained, bath bench had brown marks on the seat? Not suitable to have a 2 year old in. 2nd room ( managers suit) my bare feet were black within 2 minutes of walking on the floors, couch was ripped up and cat hair all over and in the hide-a-bed. TV in living room didn’t work and there was a bad odour (we had to open both windows to air it out. I felt bad for the one girl working the front desk, no one’s keys worked and when she finally got one working there was a trick to it, either bend the keycard when pulling it out of the door or try it upside down? A bit of a joke, unfortunately no other places available but cancelled my return travel reservation. I will stay elsewhere until they can bring basic standards up a bit.

Overall real nice spot....but internet very spotty and poor signal quality. Also as someone who stayed at literally hundreds of hotels during my work career this was the first place that was stringent, non negotiable about no check in prior to 3pm.....and nowhere to leave luggage secure until that time...

Within an hour of arriving, we decided to stay an extra night. The receptionist advised I book a second night on expedia and come back in the morning to confirm the extra night with the day staff. I did so and was told I needed to first move out of the room and move to a different room because the rate for the new room differed from my previous room. I suggested it would be easier for me to pay the difference. She said that was impossible but assured me our new room would be ready by that afternoon. This type of inflexibility and refusal to meet my seemingly simple request reflects very badly on the service level offered at this property. Moreover, not once was there an apology. Needless to say, we will not book here ever again, nor recommend it to friends.

Mediocre expirience. The fireplace in the suite didnt work. The fan in the bathroom didnt work. The front door sometimes worked. When i went to checkout, the front desk person wasnt there, waited for about 30 minutes, still nobody. The house keeping staff searched the building for the front desk person, they ended up having to call the owner to find them. I ended up having to leave without checking out because i didnt have time to wait for the person at the front desk to show up to their job.

We very much appreciated the service provided by Leah at the front desk. She went out of her way to introduce us to the amenities for visitors, available in the area.

Friendly and helpful staff. Also, we had to leave at 5:30 am to catch the ferry to Prince Rupert, so they supplied an excellent bagged breakfast/lunch to take with us.

Due to weather our boat out of the harbor had to turn back. Luckily the hotel had several openings. However, we walked in about 2:15 and the front desk told us check in was at 3pm. Several of us were absolutely soaked from the storm. I find it unlikely that housekeeping cleaned the 4 rooms while we waited. It would have been good customer service to try to check us in early (only 45 min) if the rooms were available. Instead we we sat soaked in the lobby. We also asked for the WiFi password and were told. That information is in your room.

Overall, the property was good. It was a way from town, but still walkable.. about 15-20 min. The staff/management were really accommodating and friendly and nice. Breakfast from 6-9am is in the next building. It was OK. There was scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, yogurt, juice, coffee. Go there early if you want it to be hotter ours was not really hot. One downfall was there was not enough plugs in the room and we were on the main floor. The fridge did not work at first but the owner came and looked at it right away and got it going. Our lookout was to the parking lot. We asked to be moved. We were put on the third floor great view overlooking the marina. Our room was right off the elevator and there were more plugs in that room!😁 there is coffee tea, and hot chocolate in the main area.

The room was spacious and clean. Updated bathroom was nice. The breakfast was pre bagged and basic. It might be better to put the breakfast items out for people to choose what they want. There would be less waste this way.

Lovely view but no balconies. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The pub that is part of the hotel had the worst food I’ve ever eaten! This town is a fishing town and the fish and chips were inedible. The included breakfast was so bad that we decided to go elsewhere and pay for breakfast.

Great view over the harbour. Close to town. We had one complaint and the manager bent over backwards to accommodate us. Full breakfast was good and if you have to leave early, they give you an option of a bagged breakfast. Overall l recommend this establishment.

We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel because it was convenient and other choices in town were limited. The dinner was acceptable but limited to mostly Asian food. I ordered the Japanese fried chicken which came with a small amount of salad greens and I had to pay $3 extra for rice. The free breakfast was terrible. I'm not sure if the sausage was thoroughly cooked, potato was overly fried in oil that tasted like the oil they used to fry fish for last nights dinner. There were a lot of Asian condiments but no Asian guests so why not try to cater to your clientele.

The restraunt was closed. Breakfast was an apple container of yogurt HB egg no salt or pepper and a drink box. the matress was the box spring. very uncomfortable would not recommend this place

Checked in late after a long ferry, the front desk clerk had our paperwork and room key ready so it was fast and easy. The beds are hard and could use updating but the room was clean and quiet. There were so many hidden taxes at the end of the stay even though I paid the taxes already. The manager was yelling at his customers in the lobby. All he kept saying was to call Expedia for all of your questions.. never renting from that place again. The hotel lacked character, it was so cold and gloomy just like the manager.
