The Outpost

This was our first time staying at a micro hotel. The rooms were clean and efficient. The common spaces were well equipped with entertainment and snacks. It’s perfect if you need an inexpensive room for the night near the airport

Its a little hotel, very neat and clean and modern, all inside a large brick building. There was no staff around, but the check in by codes, went without a hitch, they texted excellent instructions. Nice lobby with overstuffed chairs. the rooms have sinks and long counter, but the toilets are is down the hall a few doors. there is also a kitchen with frigs and microwaves.

Hotel is very clean, modern, located near airport. The issue is getting to the inside of the hotel. They use OpenKey app to get you in, which is not even compatible with some Android devices. If this is the case you have to make arrangements ahead of time to get to your room.

The Outpost in Belgrade Montana is a wonderful place to stay. My check in was a bit rocky but it's not a common occurrence and they compensated for it. The lobby door is code activated providing secure but easy guest access. In the main lobby you find the front desk and a cozy living room type common area with comfortable furniture, a television and complimentary tea and coffee. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Mine had a very nice queen bed with warm blankets and also had a television. The Outpost is a little different from what you might be used to as each room does not have separate climate controls or a bathroom. However, there are plenty of bathrooms (6 or 7?) and at least 4 of them have showers and one is super accessible for those who have trouble getting around with a shower chair you can use. Instead of having a tiny refrigerator and microwave in each room there is a common kitchen area complete with full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave and stove. To the left of the kitchen you'll find the lounge area which is very similar to the lobby common area. To the right and a little further down the hall you will find the laundry area equipped with 2 washers and 2 dryers, a bin for dirty hotel linens and a convenient countertop for folding laundry. The washers and dryers are coin operated but reasonably priced. Also, there are vending machines in the lounge for drinks and light snacks with multiple payment options. My experience here was great and I will stay again.

Overall a perfect stay to be close to the airport. Great eating options that were easy to walk to and very easy parking. Room was small but clean and the separate bath was a better experience than I anticipated. Only complaint was sound from other guests. Would be nice if rooms had a fan to drown some noise and add circulation.

they mentioned they had shuttle service available, but that was not true. When we called to get picked up, they said we had to reserve ahead, and it would cost an additional $20.00. That is very deceiving.

A very convinent place for a short stay. Staff was very friendly. They do not serve breakfast any more though so the information on Expedia is not up to date.

My friend and I booked this on our travels through Montana. We booked it quite quickly and missed that it was a micro-hotel. While we were a little shocked when we got into our room to realize there was no bathroom, we were very happy with how clean the room was and how comfy the bed was. Overall we were happy with our stay at the outpost, and felt very safe. The coffee bar was also lovely in the morning before heading out.

Quick and easy stay at the Outpost before my early morning flight out of Bozeman. A bed is all I needed for the night and it was a comfortable one. Lawrence was an incredible host on staff. He even personally took me to the airport at 4:30am when the shuttle didn't show up. He is amazing! Thank you so much to him.

Ok, this "Micro Hotel" experience is interesting. There is a code key to get into the lobby, that's good, given it's right on the street. However, the "One Key" smart phone entry to your room is cumbersome and totally unnecessary. One must download the ap, and have wifi, location and bluetooth enabled for it to work and its operation is slower than a card key. They also have lock boxes (you get a code via text) which I didn't try, but might be better. There's no staff on site to speak of. Breakfast bar is lean and bathroom is down the hall. Poor insulation means you can hear other guests' doors opening and closing in the middle of the night. Fortunately I just needed a place to sleep before an early flight in the morning and the price was a little better than any other stay's close to the airport. Cab companies in the area seem "flaky" in the area and difficult to schedule and the Outpost was of no help in finding that transportation. So if you are totally connected and really independent and just need a place to sleep, its OK for that.

Rooms are very no frills but beds are comfy, everything is impeccably clean, there are great seating areas where you can relax, and there are lots of good restaurants within a short distance. Be aware that they keep it very cool (65-67 degrees) so plan accordingly.

Floor of my room was dirty, smudges of dirt on sheets and bed and generally loud. Was not a pleasant experience

I really enjoyed my stay at The Outpost and plan to return the next time I’m in the area. Great location with plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The hotel is unique due to sharing bathrooms and showers but they are very nice individual shower units that are conveniently placed through the facility. I highly recommend you give this place a try if you want an affordable place to stay 6 minutes from the Bozeman Airport.

Clean and comfortable. Some good restaurants right on the block. A bit noisy when people are talking in the hall, but that was minimal.

LOUD. The price point and cleanliness are great but sadly the doors are incredibly noisy. You can hear every door in the establishment when any of them opens and shuts. The bathroom is communal so you can hear people open and shut the door to the bathroom continuously. If sleep is a priority for you choose another motel. There was also a drunken individual singing loudly throughout the establishment. It required a text to the on-duty staff to resolve it which thankfully was addressed promptly. Even though check out was at 11am, we ended up leaving at 4am because we couldn’t sleep due to the noise. I’m sure the manager/owner is lovely but the establishment is simply too loud.

People should note there are no desks/work stations in the rooms. My coworker and I solved this by going to the back lobby and setting up my laptop there. Guest Wifi was hinky but the manager troubleshot that (via text).

Was great but walls are very thin

Room was extremely hot. No apparent way to cool down. TV was a mystery. Used the end lounge for writing/reporting; it was a business trip. Price was right.

I appreciated the ease of checking in. The lamp in my room did not work. The property is clean just noisy. Heard a man coughing and a TV playing most of the night. I could hear other guests talking down the hall. It would be helpful to have instructions on how the monitor works in the room to watch television. The room I stayed in had no exterior windows.

Property was clean and easy access. Didn’t like that there were no windows and you could hear everything. Needs better sound proofing.

This is a hotel for travelers who just need a REALLY soft bed to sleep and go. Rooms are set up like a nice hotel but hotel setup is like a dorm. Very functional for travelers, truck drivers and people on the go. Sleep and go but with a good night sleep. Way above some brand name hotels for sure. Very clean. Will stay again.

For the money this place was awesome! Beds are stupid comfy for sure, big thick pillows, clean room. Yes, there is communal showers and bathrooms, but they are private. Its not like your taking showers with all the other guest like some people say lol Location is perfect a couple doors down is a nice pub and restaurant, also close to the airport. If your high Maintenace don't come here, I never spoke to staff in person, everything I needed was there. Highly recommended this little place.

I booked it on here and showed up and called the person that worked there and she said all of the room were booked so I had to get an Uber back to the airport and sleep there it was the worst experience I will never book anything on this website again

Great communication from hotel and information provided for transpo, local info etc, rate was fair for the room provided and was an awesome option for our needs.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! We arrived around 12:30am after 7h flight. The room was clean, but no windows. The walls between rooms were really thin and TV noise from the room next to us was EXTREMELY loud. Someone banged the wall to let the person know about noise and caused more noise. There was no one at the front desk, so I texted multiple times to the number which I received check in details from. There was no response at all. Noise stopped around 6:10 when we left the hotel with almost no sleep. Since then, I didn’t receive any text or email about this. We understand the person in charge might be sleeping, but what if this was emergency!? Lastly, I wonder if no window rooms are allowed as hotel rooms from evacuation standpoint.

I don't often write these reviews, but I thought that "The Outpost" and Amarillis deserved an Excellent review. Be prepared for minimalist (but excellent) accommodations. The Outpost is a building in downtown Belgrade (next to the airport) that was renovated in 2019. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The Outpost is designed to be economical with single rooms and shared bathrooms. There are also three General areas - Entry lounge, Lounge, Kitchen. Amarillis was great!! She sent me a text before my arrival with instructions on the code to get into the hotel and how to retrieve the keys to the room. The room was small, but well outfitted with a sink, hangers and drawers. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were fine. I never had to wait. I recommend The Outpost to anyone that wants economy, a clean hotel and great service. I had the added bonus of attending a Belgrade, MT street festival that was just around the corner.

When I arrived at 9:15 pm there was no one working at the hotel. Had to call to get instructions to retrieve key for entry from a lock box. Apparently it is 100% unstaffed in evenings and overnight. Room was tiny. All guest rooms share a common bathroom and a common shower down the hall. Walls so thin could easily hear phone conversation in room across hall with doors closed. Manager (by phone) refused to cancel reservation with refund. Please update info on Hotels.com site to reflect that bathrooms/showers/staff are not included.

No instructions were provided to checkin and we were stranded in the middle of the night. We had to book another accommodation after a long flight. Nobody received our call or anything.

No one is manning the desk. People walk in at all hours talking loudly or playing music. Walls are very thin. Rooms & bathrooms were clean, let me check-in 4 hours early!

I had a great overnight stay at this property. Very clean and inviting space. Amarilis was so accomodating, she called to tell me I left my personalized water bottle behind and has agrred to ship it to me going above and beyond!

The Outpost was a great place to stay for our early am flight from Bozeman. It was 4 mins to the airport. We came in late, used the code to get into the building and then to get our room keys and we were in. We didn’t see any staff since we came in late and left very early. The room was clean with nice beds and plenty of space. It was nice to have a sink and we were right next door to the bathroom. It wa sa great deal for a quick stay.

Easy check-in, nice clean rooms, comfy bed. Perfect when you just need a safe comfy place to sleep for a night... or two. No private in-room toilet/shower, but there are multiple single private ones in hallways. Much like dorms/hostels. Also super close to BZN airport.

I love staying at the Outpost. I usually stay at least three or four times a summer and it’s always clean and comfortable. There are train tracks across the parking lot, but the rooms have ear plugs for that purpose. I’ll continue to stay here because you just can’t beat the price.

The Outpost was the most convenient stay for us since we live out of town and had a very early flight out of Bozeman. The rooms were efficient, comfort, and very nicely decorated. East walking distance to a variety of restaurants.

This hotel is styled like a hostel. It is much cheaper than staying in Bozeman. We stayed for one night while passing through. Provides a light breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very easy to communicate with. For the price, it is a decent stay. If you want more expensive amenities then pay more and stay in Bozeman.

Reasonable price for modest, clean, well appointed accommodation. Right downtown so walkable to restaurants. I would recommend it, but be aware the rooms are not en-suite. Bathrooms down the hall but safe and very clean.

I liked the simplicity and cleanliness of the rooms, the softness of the beds and friendly staff that you can talk to. It’s generally quiet and decently air conditioned. Plus, there are microwaves and a fridge in the kitchen, and several bathrooms, which is separated from the rooms themselves. And good strong coffee in the morning.

The Outpost was just as described...a room worth bathroom and shower showbiz the hall. It was self check in but directions were communicated to me very well and it was very easy and convenient. My room was perfect, nothing fancy but the bed was very comfortable, there was a tv to watch, and it was very clean. There was a bathrobe to use, clean towels and a sink in my room.. it was everything i needed. The price was right and it was very quiet. I will definitely recommend and visit again. It was also right downtown, so we walked to dinner with several options and there was a casino just down the block also.

Loved having 2 shower robes in room! Location allowed us to walk to dinner ( at the famous Mint Bar!) All guests respected Quiet Hours.
