Quality Inn - Storm Lake

The staff was friendly, sheets were clean, bedding looked newish, and showers had good pressure. The rooms had an odor in them that was a bit much when you first walked in. The big problem was that you could break in to most of the rooms on the first floor in about 2 seconds due to the door jams being off. I showed the management team and they moved me to another room which was the exact same way. The third room finally was a bit more secure. Definitely a problem that needs to be addressed.

Cards to enter the building and room kept failing. It caused me to get a new card several times.

Check in was easy. Pool isn’t available, but it hasn’t been for some time, so that wasn’t a surprise. This is a great hotel for value. Room was clean, shower was good. Bed and pillows were good. It isn’t a fancy hotel, but worked great for us.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was fun for my grandkids.

Hotel has no elevator. When we walked into our room, the room was filled with dust.

Took half hour to check in then went to room and it was not cleaned trash all over beds not made. Took abother half hour to switch rooms. Pool was closed waffle maker broke juice machine not working. No fruit or yogurt

The building was outdated. Breakfast sausage was not good and there was no fruit, muffin was old and dry. Pool closed . General feeling of being a sketchy environment.

The back door didn’t latch shut. The air conditioner in the room sucked, the breakfast wasn’t great. I didn’t see a high chair for my toddler so I held her but the dining room was small anyway so I was glad to not take up more space then necessary. Just inconvenient for me. There wasn’t an elevator that I knew of so that also sucked to carry up luggage, a baby and a pack and play.

The check in was okay. The hallway and side entryway had an odd smell. The side entrance door was broken. The pool area could have been better kept. There were no towels in the pool area and there were several dead bugs on the bottom of the pool. The water was extremely cold. Breakfast was pretty good and nice assortment to choose from. Inside the room was okay. It was mostly clean. The bathtub looked like it had just been rinsed out and not actually cleaned for probably several weeks. There was built up dirt (not soap scum etc) on the bottom and around the sides of the tub. The rest of the room was clean. There was a large hole in the bathroom door that had been very poorly patched. There are very large spots of peeling enamel or paint peeling off the bathtub. The beds were nice but extremely tall. I know it sounds very odd but I am 5 ft 4 and my husband had to help me onto the bed. The matress came just below my belly button and i cant help but wonder how everyone else gets into bed. I am honestly not a hard person to please. Overall the stay was not horrible. It was tolerable. The only reason I book through expedia is because I earn points and travel more than the average person. If I had paid the normal rate of 135.00 for the room I would have asked for some type of compensation. I feel like at more than a hundred per night the hotel should be more than tolerable. We topically stay with family but wanted a place to swim so I am pretty disappointed.

Very clean and organized

Our doorhandle to our room was broken. Our hotel room smelled musty and smoky. The bathroom bathtub shower was filthy. On Sunday morning we go down to eat breakfast at seven and there was no hot food. The back door to get into the building didn’t even lock. And the front desk gave another family our key to our room and they came in to our room.

Everything was good, the only thing I wasn’t happy about was that the room smelled like cigarette smoke, the rest was just amazing, the breakfast bar was so nice, lots of food and the coffee was great.

Parking was easy. Breakfast was Ok, OJ was empty. Mattress in one bed was very uncomfortable. Room was clean.

Real nice place very friendly people. The only downfall the room did not have any local TV channels, and you had to subscribe to one of the streaming services to get a show to come on the television.

Its was ok but the bed was hard to sleep on

The 1st room we were put in the smoke alarm was beeping, right when we walked in the room so they switch our rooms to the one next to it because their maintenance person was not there to change the battery. The 2nd room, wasn’t the cleanest. It seemed like it could have been vacuumed more and some hair on the floor in the bathroom, but all in all it was fine. It is an older hotel that could use some work. Our bed was super comfy so that was a bonus! But our room was next to the entry doors and steps so all night long it sounded like what I thought was kids running around in the room above ours, but I think it was just people coming in and out of the building all night long? I don’t really know. Also since we were right next to the door, outside our window was a bright light, there were black out curtains, but the light was like a hallow around the outskirts of the curtain, so made it seem like it was light outside all night long, so that made it hard to sleep. Breakfast, yup nope not good. Not anything to write home about at all. Our daughter starts college here in the fall for 4 years, so we will be staying in hotels in Storm Lake when we come visit. Will we stay here again? We will check out other hotels in the area when we come the next times.

Good value for the money. Hotel is older and shows its age in some ways. But it was clean and had what I needed.

Comfortable beds and cold a/c

Overall I would stay here again. The staff was very helpful and helpful The rooms big lock was broken but we just used a chair in front of the door, the room was clean. Walls are thin so if you have noisy people next door like we did could make for a long night.

We have stayed here twice in the last month for a funeral. Both time were great. The staff was so kind and made sure we had anything we needed

There was a lot of remodeling of rooms being done but it was still amazingly quite. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Clean rooms. We arrived early (1:50) and was told if we checked in it would cost us an early check in fee. We could check in at 2:30 without this fee attached to our bill. We decided to sit in the lobby and read until 2:30. Bryon our desk clerk took it upon himself to call the manager and got the okay to check in early without the added fee. Bryon was a very happy, kind, courteous and helpful person. Wish all clerks could have his demeanor.

Hotel employee coming into room at 1:30 a.m. No idea why. No coffee, no cups, no plates, little food for breakfast. No shampoo in bottle. Took long time to check in due to computer or staff issues - unsure of cause. Printer didn't work at checkout. So unprepared to provide routine services such as the breakfast. Understaffed??

Aside from the rude assistant manager telling us our room needed to be cleaned up during breakfast ( we had two babies that had gotten some cookies on the floor), I questioned how she would know what the room looked like unless going in with a do not disturb sign on the door . My pregnant daughter was also scolded by staff for going back to the breakfast a second time. The breakfast its self was not the best ( juice and coffee were both watered down severely) as well as limited choices and poor taste. I went to the front desk to get some towels ( which was absent of personnel quite a bit during the day), there was some sort of loud phone call going on between the assistant manager and another female - a significant amount of obscene language was used to describe guests as well as upper management - very unprofessional. Night shift staff on the other hand was extremely pleasant and helpful... Despite that, We will never stay or recommend this location again

great lady at the desk when checing in fogot her name. had to cancel one night's stay because of a flight change, she made it very easy with no problem. akso met Dlyin who was very polite and made us very comfortable at breakfast.

We stayed there 2 nights. 1st night was ok, the 2nd day, the housekeeping threw a bag away that had my medication and others items in it that was on the dresser, thta night the people staying next to us slamming doors and running up and down the stairs the entire night. Around 6 in the morning someone tried to get into our room 2 different times. The only thing stopped them from getting into our room was the lock inside the door. I dont know if the set their keys to be able to unlock other rooms. I called the front desk and complained multiple times they did nothing. I will never stay there again.

Great room for the rate. Easy to get to, and to get around. :)

It close to shopping

Location & rates were Ok. The room was clean and bedding was super clean. THESE are important for us. Room was a bit small and breakfast room also a bit small (could rearrange tables to address this??). I recommend the place for short stays and budget concious people. The breakfast is a plus, otherwise you would be spending an additional $10-$15/person somewhere else.

Nice room conveniently located

Not many options in Storm Lake but to be honest the only plus the hotel had was it was close to everything. The stuff was nice and helpful and the free breakfast is good other than that there’s not much there.

Front desk manage was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was terrible.
