We were originally camping at sunset state beach, but a storm rolled in that blew our tent over and this hotel was the closest! The hotel overall was great. However, there were a few areas that definitely needed improving. The elevators were awful and it took forever for them to arrive at your floor. It made me a bit nervous because the permit inside expired in 2022. Yikes! The room was huge! They are in desperate need of new pillows, it was like sleeping with your head on a rock. When we were packing up, we noticed someone’s dirty socks in the top shelf of our closet. That’s was disgusting. Other than that, their breakfast is an 11/10, and the service was immaculate.

The hotel needs many maintenance adjustments and the carpets are dirty in the rooms. Some rooms in our group were missing chairs, my control for the blinds did not work, drainage issues with the tub, and usb ports broken. The emergency phone in the swimming area did not work and one of the elevators jumped up before moving. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff was very attentive and accommodating to requests that were reasonable. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was one of the best with lots of options. 24 hours coffee/tea/hot water/hot chocolate. Bottled water was available at the front desk - no cost. They made up sack "breakfasts" for people who needed to grab a bite while running out the door. Pool and pool area was well kept and very inviting. Starbucks was across the hotel parking lot and a Firehouse Sub deli is soon to open there. A gas station was right next door to the hotel. Will definitely recommend this to others.

The worker who checked me in at the front desk was awesome. The complimentary breakfast was great. Unfortunately the pool wasn't open but that's ok. My room was excellent and the fitness center was as well. I loved that this hotel had charging stations for the car.

There was no Continental breakfast. It was a full blown, hearty, American breakfast that included waffles, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, potatoes, any type of bread, yogurt, and fresh fruit. I was impressed. The suite was roomy and comfortable. Parking was super easy. Free bottled, coffee, tea, or cocoa available 24/7. Indoor heated pool. I loved my stay.

Great experience! Friendly staff, hassle free check in/checkout, and housekeeping request. Breakfast is more than coffee and toast. Definitely recommend… One downfall is that the gym opens late…8am… my husband works out before going to work and couldn’t do that.

Friendly staff, excellent free breakfast, only part I wasn’t thrilled with was lack of handicap parking. They had tons of EV plug-in’s that took up most of the parking spaces and later at night parking only available in the back of the hotel and you have to walk all the way around the building to get into the hotel front entrance.

Our tv had issue's upon checkin, had to have someone come fix it, then still had issues with it working. Ants in room. No one came our 2nd day to refresh the room or clean trash or give new towels which didn't help with the ants. Found trash on the floor in the room when we checked in as well.

The bathroom was not clean with hair everywhere, shower, floor, sink, counter. The shower was dirty with pee spot on the floor. The pillow was dirty. The bed was uncomfortable. This place was not at Hampton’s usual standards. I asked the manager to call me back since i had to check out, he never did!!! The answer i got from the clerk was they could not do anything for me since i used a third party. No refund, no points, nothing… Why use à third party then??? I took pictures but too disgusting to share!!!

The lobby of the hotel looks really good. The hallways and room was not very clean. We found several hairs on the floor and the air conditioning unit was really dusty. The TV did not work properly and they could not get it to work. The Breakfast was good though. Overall it was a fine place to stay...just disappointed in the cleanliness.

Carpets were badly stained. Breakfast was average. There are not many places nearby to get food. Way overpriced and not a good value. There are plenty of better hotels in nearby towns. We needed this hotel as a stopover on a longer driving trip, would not stay again since i didn't think it was worth the price charged.

Spacious lovely room. Facility very pleasant. Very comfortable bed. A wonderful surprise—no bad smells, including no strong chemical perfume coverup smell we’ve come to associate with most hotels. Carpeting in room could use some cleaning. Breakfast is usual cheap hotel fare. Staff wonderful.

Staff was friendly. Room was spacious and quiet. Quality bed but too firm for me. Starbucks and 2 gas stations w minimarts next door. Close to beach and market, restaurants. Pool is tiny and opens at 9am. No way to swim in it and filled w kids splashing around in the evening-family friendly but not for swimmers. Light switches in room all had night lights so it’s never dark. Entry and bath lights randomly turned on during every night. Breakfast is included and the usual. The wines they sell r terrible. I paid a little extra over comparable places for the benefit of an indoor pool so that was a waste of money for me. Not a bad place and great for families and those taking advantage of breakfast. I won’t b back.

Our stay was excellent! The staff were super friendly and accommodating, I was able to check-in early with ease and they accommodated my room preferences. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a nice view of the local agriculture fields. The room was a perfect temperature—you can set your own thermostat. The sensor lights were perfect for navigating the room late night. A big, spacious shower with shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers and crisp white towels. There was plenty of space for the pups to run outside. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with hot and cold options and lots of nice, clean tables for lounging. We will definitely be back!

The beds were comfy and the was quiet overall. Weird motion detector lightswitch in the entry lit up the room when we went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and my cell phone reception did not work inside, had to go to the parking lot. Room 219

We stayed for 3 nights and after the 2nd night we asked for our room to be cleaned 2 times. When we returned after 5 our room was not cleaned! counter girl said we don't have housekeeping at night. No apology and the next morning I wanted to talk to manager, none were on site and still no apology. Food was not good either

I booked this stay and at my arrival the front desk person told me they were overbooked. At the time of my arrival. And they do not have a room for me and my family. This is unacceptable and I should have been notified when it was overbooked. I would like a FULL REFUND.

The staff were amazing! They were so friendly and if we needed anything they were right there for us. The breakfast was good and the wifi was fast! 100% recommend. It was nice staying somewhere we were made to feel welcomed. The staff works very hard and their customer service is top tier!

got issue when checking in. The front desk could not see my reservation initially. I told her I've booked through Hotel/com and have requested and got approved to change my original reservation from 9/19 to 9/18. She stated Expedia/Hotel accepted my change request but did not informed the hotel. I told her Expedia could not change my reservation unless they got confirmation from Hampton. She then spent quite some time on the computer, and finally assigned a room for me. Her comment: ".. Expedia is not a good booking agent and it got a lot of complaint from customers...." I only have one complaint despite the hurdle when checked in. I stayed on the 2nd floor. I could hear the loud sound whenever my top neighbor on the 3rd floor walked in their room. Sound insulation is bad.

Checking in was the worse experience ive ever had. System was being maintenance and for some reason my reservation wasn't pre-assigned like everyone else. I waited from 10:45pm to 11:30pm for the staff to go manually find rooms. We were tired and frustrated.

My husband and I enjoyed this location so much! The breakfast tasted great, pets are allowed, the room was clean, Starbucks & gas station right in front, and the pool was heated! Right next to the highway so was able to get to Santa Cruz in 30 minutes. Had ordered Cassidy’s Pizza since it was the only pizza place that would deliver there and it was so good! The ONLY issue I would say about the place is that the back of the hotel is supposed to be where the pets can go walk and use the restroom, but it’s not in great condition. There was broken glass, trash, and snake holes. My dog can go anywhere to the restroom, but she did not want to get anywhere near that area so I would have to just keep walking in circles around the hotel. Overall had a blast and definitely plan to come back one day.

Back doors should be accessible with room key at all hours. I did not feel safe as single woman walking around the building alone at night. The are is isolated and dark.

I didn't have any information on when breakfast started or ended. Nothing posted or given on itinerary. I didn't know if they were cleaning up or not. I had garbage but didn't know where to take it. No information on hours of the the pool. Breakfast was not good.The eggs are powder and the oatmeal was runny etc...the quality was not was not what I expected.

Very nice hotel, nice staff. The only negative was the breakfast. Breakfast started at 7am, we were in dining hall about 7:15am. Cold food eggs, sausage, potatoes. Everything else was good.

Great stay Breakfast needs some help. Needs actual people that run a “kitchen” for meal service not just the custodial engineer or front desk to restock items as needed forms that were out of stock Just spend a little bit more that has someone that makes it their priority to serve the guests Otherwise great place to stay

Very clean hotel. Check in was very efficient. Nice warm breakfast included with varying items. 24 hour coffee bar and ample parking. Gas station amenities nearby with more food options coming. 10 minutes drive to a beautiful beach. Definitely would recommend and looking forward to another stay

The location to Sunset Beach is amazing. Max, 5 minute drive. The hotel was very nice, modern and the breakfast was amazing! Probably one of the best hotel free breakfasts we’ve had. Hot, amazing delicious selections and very well displayed.
