Charming older motel being refurbished by a friendly and helpful couple. I felt welcome and cared for and safe. Very nice to have a detached A-frame with no common walls and the bathroom was spotless and refurbished. So overall a very nice place, great price, and a good experience. It's close to the freeway and you can hear the noise of traffic but this is a bit like hearing waves on the ocean- didn't bother me at all. My only problem was that there's a "lounge" close to the south end of property, where my room was, that played very loud country music. Even with the AC fan running I could hear it in the room. They closed down about 10pm- so not too late- but be aware. (Also- the larger rooms on the other side of the motel are pretty well screened from the lounge- just the ones at the farthest end of the building get the noise).

This is an excellently maintained vintage motel. Comfy beds & couch. The mini fridge froze my water bottles (in the freezer) but kept everything else perfectly cool. Nice little pet walk grass area (no foxtails!), and easy on & off the freeway.

The staff was friendly (including the official pup greeter), rooms are vary simple but clean and well maintained. These are A frames so the rooms are small. Beds were comfortable. There is a restaurant, which was closed, but the bar lounge was open. Drinks were good & bar food fair. The place is very reasonably priced and good for an overnight. Also dog friendly.

Nice, somewhat funky (in a good way!) 1960s era motel. Not a chain. Owner/operator is super nice and attentive. Great hot water and water pressure in shower, comfortable bed and HVAC fine. Striving to minimize plastic waste. Dog run outback good for pets. Close to Hwy 5. Cheap gas but not much else at exit.

Safe, quiet, clean, and quaint. We had a bit of a septic tank smell in our bathroom, but it didn’t bother us too much and dissipated when we closed the door. Very comfortable beds and great little place to stop for the night. Fantastic value.

Loved it! This place was full of charm and had everything we needed for a quick stop-over after a long day of driving. The beds were super comfy and the room was exceptionally clean. The aesthetic was cozy and inviting. Close to the freeway and management was extremely accommodating and friendly. We will definitely keep The Ranch on our list of go-to’s for future road trips!

The room was amazing. It was clean did not have any odor. The beds were comfortable. It gave off that homey feeling. We didn't want to leave. The staff and owners are awesome. All in all 100% great

The staff or owner I think Leslie and Tim were very nice and this place had so much character than a Motel 6 so loved and will stay here. On my upstairs bed there was like 1 or 2 ants in the loft bed so I’m glad I booked 2 bedroom loft or the bigger A frame options. Overall, still give 5 and always just be prudent guest and check your bed sheets yourself if you need it for peace of mind. As a frequent traveler I’ve learned my lesson hard way. I hope they bring a breakfast option or open cafe soon! Lots of character and beautiful gem this place. I stayed here while on wilderness fire camp training that wasn’t too far away A

What a little gem of a property. I was so exhausted when I arrived late Wednesday night and was warmly greeted by the owners. They take pride in there property and have renovated the rooms to a super clean and comfortable standard. The bed mattress felt new and the room had no smells whatsoever except for how lovingly it was cleaned and prepared for the tired travellers who come to this spot on the highway reserved mostly for a truck stop down the way, which has a Dennys and a decent convenience store for loading up on roadtrip food. I appreciated the incredible night sleep so much I decided to take a day off from driving and do some work. My second night stay was just as good as the first. Will definitely stay here again!

We weren’t expecting much when we booked this place but it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean, the beds were nice and firm, the loft was fun and the staff was amazing and helpful. A great value. We ate at the K & R drive in and ice cream and burgers were delicious. Don’t hesitate to book your stay as you are driving through.

Personally I very much enjoyed the quirky throwback A-frame architecture, and it made the room quieter -- no connecting wall with neighbors. I only ever heard car doors. I also liked the proprietors a lot, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, bed comfortable, plenty of towels and WiFi had good signal and worked great for streaming.

My partner lives nearby but we love coming to stay here to get some privacy. The A frames are so cute and clean! The owners are super nice and cool. We got them a cute turkey statue with hanging legs at the antique store in Oakland and it’s still part of their front lobby decor. :) I am partial to interstate exits that just have motels and truck stops so the location is great for me. I-5 is right there with traffic noises to lull you to sleep, but it’s not too close to the truck stop where you have to listen to them pulling in and out all night. Speaking of, there’s an adult store very handy if that’s your thing. Highly recommend the ranch!

Fun little hotel, super retro, with cool little A frames, so no shared walls. Very vintage and some things outdated, but for the most part, we really enjoyed our stay. Super convenient off of I-5 and you simply can't beat the price. Front desk clerk was positive and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay, we'll see you again!

The folks running this place are absolutely lovely people. They have made quite the effort to update these cute little A-Frames. Our stay was brief but enjoyable and we have marked it as a favorite to return to. I would add pics but the app won't let me!

I would rather sleep on the sidewalk thank have to book an OYO hotel again, spent almost 4 hours playing phone tag with Expedia, OYO and the front desk trying to get checked into this place when they were fully booked for weeks already. It was a struggle to get my money back, never again!!!

This is an excellently maintained vintage motel. Comfy beds & couch. The mini fridge froze my water bottles (in the freezer) but kept everything else perfectly cool. Nice little pet walk grass area (no foxtails!), and easy on & off the freeway.

My partner lives nearby but we love coming to stay here to get some privacy. The A frames are so cute and clean! The owners are super nice and cool. We got them a cute turkey statue with hanging legs at the antique store in Oakland and it’s still part of their front lobby decor. :) I am partial to interstate exits that just have motels and truck stops so the location is great for me. I-5 is right there with traffic noises to lull you to sleep, but it’s not too close to the truck stop where you have to listen to them pulling in and out all night. Speaking of, there’s an adult store very handy if that’s your thing. Highly recommend the ranch!

Looks like it could be a dive joint, but it reminded us of our stay on Route 66 in the wigwams, just adorable and perfectly set up for us. You would think the freeway would be too loud, but it was tolerable. I would reccomend this place.

What a little gem of a property. I was so exhausted when I arrived late Wednesday night and was warmly greeted by the owners. They take pride in there property and have renovated the rooms to a super clean and comfortable standard. The bed mattress felt new and the room had no smells whatsoever except for how lovingly it was cleaned and prepared for the tired travellers who come to this spot on the highway reserved mostly for a truck stop down the way, which has a Dennys and a decent convenience store for loading up on roadtrip food. I appreciated the incredible night sleep so much I decided to take a day off from driving and do some work. My second night stay was just as good as the first. Will definitely stay here again!

Fun little hotel, super retro, with cool little A frames, so no shared walls. Very vintage and some things outdated, but for the most part, we really enjoyed our stay. Super convenient off of I-5 and you simply can't beat the price. Front desk clerk was positive and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay, we'll see you again!

Charming older motel being refurbished by a friendly and helpful couple. I felt welcome and cared for and safe. Very nice to have a detached A-frame with no common walls and the bathroom was spotless and refurbished. So overall a very nice place, great price, and a good experience. It's close to the freeway and you can hear the noise of traffic but this is a bit like hearing waves on the ocean- didn't bother me at all. My only problem was that there's a "lounge" close to the south end of property, where my room was, that played very loud country music. Even with the AC fan running I could hear it in the room. They closed down about 10pm- so not too late- but be aware. (Also- the larger rooms on the other side of the motel are pretty well screened from the lounge- just the ones at the farthest end of the building get the noise).

The staff or owner I think Leslie and Tim were very nice and this place had so much character than a Motel 6 so loved and will stay here. On my upstairs bed there was like 1 or 2 ants in the loft bed so I’m glad I booked 2 bedroom loft or the bigger A frame options. Overall, still give 5 and always just be prudent guest and check your bed sheets yourself if you need it for peace of mind. As a frequent traveler I’ve learned my lesson hard way. I hope they bring a breakfast option or open cafe soon! Lots of character and beautiful gem this place. I stayed here while on wilderness fire camp training that wasn’t too far away A

The staff was friendly (including the official pup greeter), rooms are vary simple but clean and well maintained. These are A frames so the rooms are small. Beds were comfortable. There is a restaurant, which was closed, but the bar lounge was open. Drinks were good & bar food fair. The place is very reasonably priced and good for an overnight. Also dog friendly.

We weren’t expecting much when we booked this place but it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean, the beds were nice and firm, the loft was fun and the staff was amazing and helpful. A great value. We ate at the K & R drive in and ice cream and burgers were delicious. Don’t hesitate to book your stay as you are driving through.

The front desk people were super friendly. The room was clean, but could use a bit of paint in some places. This definitely wouldn't keep us from staying there again. Our grandkids loved the loft and we felt very safe there.
