Lewis & Clark Resort

Very nice outdoor area with chairs under trees. So comfortable!

We stayed over Halloween weekend so was definitely off season. The resort was quiet at this time I would guess during summer the whole resort and area is busy. Outside pool wasn't open but decent looking. Playground was nice. 2 bedroom cabin had big bedrooms but we felt the living area and kitchen were small. Had parking right outside cabins and more areas around to park in. Good view of the river from all the rooms. Not to far from coffee, restaurants and even town.

The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful. The pool has a lake view, is brand new and very nice. The location is wonderful for walks, fishing and enjoying lake views.

The biggest complaint/concern, was with the check-in. The resort did have my reservation, but the price was $14 a night more than what Hotels.com said it would be. The person that checked me in did not honor the Hotels.com price and chalked the difference up to a service fee for card usage and a State Parks fee. Additionally, it was not disclosed (anywhere I saw) that a state park sticker was also required to park at the resort. Which would have been another $60, if we hadn’t already purchased one. I’m not sure where the disconnect was between the resort and Hotels.com, but it really felt like a bait and switch scenario. It also felt like we didn’t have any options as it was a non-refundable reservation. The Resort itself was actually fine besides that though. The view of Lewis and Clark lake was decent, the beds were fine, it was pretty clean. The room was pretty small and the pool was closed due to remodeling. The price felt a little high for the value.

A mixed experience. Bad points: Photos of lodge in listing are highly deceptive. The rooms appear to be part of a large lodge. In actuality, the rooms are in multi-unit cabins (not mentioned in listing). I have no clue where the photos of the lodge were taken. We saw no sign of that during our stay. The pool was closed and filthy. We were told that the pool would open for Memorial Day, a few days away, which did us no good. (The inside room photos are accurate.) The restaurant mentioned in amenities is only open during certain hours and on certain days. While the office offered snacks and breakfast items for sale, and offered coffee, we had to travel to obtain a real meal. At bedtime, loud motorcycles were racing up and down the road, and someone was setting off fireworks. (Things eventually quieted down.) Good Points: The young office woman was very friendly and very helpful. As a cabin, the stay was nice enough. It is near trees, walking trails, and has a view of the dam-site reservoir. Bikes rentals available. Pic-nick tables, trees, fire rings and outdoor seating near room was very nice. The office sold us wood, but was sold out of fire-starting gel, so cardboard, newspaper, and matches were provided. We enjoyed a nice fire while listening to birds and watching sailboats on the water as the sun went down. The cabin was cozy and nice. Hot water in the morning. Would stay again. But, please, remove (or clarify) photos of lodge. Stay was not what we expected.

Pool was perfect for little kids, although it was slippery going in. Wasn’t the cleanest there were spiders crawling all over. There was also a creepy guy threat came over while my kids and I were playing on a playground and sat there with his phone just watching us

Great resort close to the lake with private area to swim. Brand new swimming pool, clean. Nice. We will be back.

It was nowhere near the expectations provided on the photos of the resort. There was no pool as it was being dug out and being rebuilt.

The location was great. The pool was closed down for repairs so the grandkids were disappointed. One of the nights a family had brought a band. The weather turned out nice.

Nothing fancy- but well kept. Would stay here again- love our stays in Yankton…lots of water-nature-fresh air. Live music at night just across the highway.

Rooms are clean, no frills, place is quiet. Nicely priced. Way better than a hotel.

Clean, full kitchen

The room had a musky weird smell. The bathroom had an odor that smelled like it had been clean in a while. The room was outdated. There were sand on the floor no maid service for three days wouldn’t even refill my coffee packets! I went to the office twice. Nobody around poor experience never come back!!!plus don’t tell you an Expedia or the staff but you have to pay a $15 park pass every day that you’re there so that was another $45 added onto the room rate which the rate it was then it was a poor quality for my money

We had a wonderful time. Plenty of space. Kitchen well equipped. Beds comfortable. Spectacular views from every window. Arms on living room furniture need cleaned or replaced.

Outside of facilities was very dirty, inside was old and average clean. Didn’t feel that was clean because of the outside door and windows

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff greeted us professionally and friendly. We were able to park right outside the room, making it easy to unload the car. The resort is right on the water with walking trails along the shore. The resort is pet friendly.

Nice location, clean, and quiet. Desperately needs a deep cleaning and new towels that, while clean, look dingy.

Office was closed before 7:30 pm and was supposed to be staffed until 10pm. Key was left on a clipboard by the office door! Simple door lock with no deadbolt. Adjoining room door unlocked and neighbors kept jiggling the doorknob all night. Worst of all NO HOT WATER in shower. Of course no one to complain to, since the office was again unstaffed at checkout time! Never going back, never recommending to anyone. Also, nothing mentioned that guests must also pay a park fee of $8.00 in order to park at facility. But, no one ever checked to see if we paid it anyways.

It was so nice to have a cabin with room to relax for a few days before we left for a bus tour. We loved the kitchen also. Great place!

I booked a room with accessibility, but didn't get accessibility for our wheel chair. Couldn't shower

Beautiful location on lewis and clark lake, easy access to walking/biking trail Cottage was spacious and comfortable, well stocked, Liked that the sleeping area could be closed off from the main area.

Cabin was so comfortable and clean. Location was great. We received an upgrade too which was a very pleasant surprise.

I paid for a 2 Queen Room at the Lewis & Clark Resort. They ended up upgrading us to a 3 Bedroom Cabin!! It was beautiful

There was NO staff! I literally pulled my envelope from the wall with my last name on it. Went to turn in my key and the same thing. Just a drop box. Then they wanted me to pay for car parking. Which was just another envelope process outside. It was easy and efficient just wanted to clarify there is no staff! Surprisingly large cabins. Very spacious and nice and clean! Loved the view and hope to stay again soon!

Due to a blizzard, we called a few times prior to our stay to make sure we would be able to check in. No one answered our calls, so we had to pay for a different hotel to stay in as we did not want to risk driving there late at night in the bad conditions since we did not receive correspondence. The next day, the office called and informed us they had left early due to weather conditions, meaning that they wouldn't have been there to check us in even if we had made it to the destination. The person on the phone was very nice and responsive; they said they would ask their boss to see if we could receive a refund. We have yet to hear back; we understand there's typically no refunds but considering there was no one there to check in/answer our calls to rearrange times we hope this could be reconsidered.

every year i take my kids to the torment over yankton i always pick stay in this hotel i'm in charge for the other parents to pick where we stay but i will never came in back to this hotel the policy of cancellation is super bad the communication with the manager is terrible next year we not going to the hotel any more

We needed a last minute room and were pleasantly surprised after choosing the Rhe Lewis and Clark Resort. Our room had a king sized bed and a two person bunk. Beautiful location with great views of the river and walking path along the shore. The grounds are large and there is a nice variety of room selections ranging from individual rooms to cabins and cottages. Would love to return with our family.

Did not know that a park fee was required to enter and our room didn’t have Lakeview. It was right on parking lot and was very noisy with people walking by all night and early morning. The resort is nice though, right on the water with a small pool.

We were grateful to stay at this property that is clearly wrapping up the season. Thankfully, staff left the key tacked to the outside corkboard so we could access our room, as we arrived after 5:00. We left before 9:00 the next day, so we never saw anybody. The setting was beautiful and we enjoyed the disc golf park nearby. The Grill was closed for the season, which was disappointing.

Cool area. Beautiful grounds. Restaurant onsite is spendy.
