Everything ok except 2 issues: only 1 available lift from ground floor to the lobby and its always crowded. The other lifts out of irder. The other issue : the arrival swamp of wasps at the swimming pool that make it unsafe.

Big room and spaciuos. Love the toilet wit big mirror and inside the room too. Swimming pool also great at highest floor. Breakfast is good too. Walkable to our fav mall. Komtar jbcc and citysquare. Parking too. Great experience for 1st time staying in this hotel. Will recomended to family and friends and love to come back again. Thankyou.

The breakfast selection is very limited. Not much protein, mainly carbs. Chicken noodle has no chicken meat. The gym is very basic & the equipments are rusty. Need to upgrade the breakfast selection & the gym. The location is convenient, right beside City Square Mall JB

Stay is fine . However since I drive to the venue , the car park is a challenge for car to manoeuvre especially go down from level 7 . There are so many damaged car marked and scratches on the wall . The turning is a little too sharp for big cars

The lift broke down. My family and I were stuck in the lift for almost 30 minutes. Inside the lift shaft, there was no phone signal, pressed the bell but no response. When finally got signal, it was weak and the emergency number was to the lift company and not the hotel. After 30 minutes, we finally heard voices. Took another 15 minutes before they brought us to safety and opened the door. When queried, staff said they have visual of us in the lift but the intercom was down. This was very traumatic. The other lifts functioned intermittently when we used it. There were long pause before the lift started moving. It was very stressful after that experience. There was no service recovery offered until asked. Free breakfast was offered to my family. Strongly urge the hotel to check the lift especially during and after a thunderstorm.

I have to rate an average for property condition & facilities is because, of the small pool that can be super crowded in the morning & evening. Limited space to put ur belongings like towel while swimming. And another unpleasant part is rooms are not soundproof. Unfortunately, the guests staying next door to you, you can hear their conversation very clearly. That’s the minus point during my stay. And that time the guests next to mine can be noisy till super late night & early morning. Late till 1am early morning like 6am. So when is a peaceful time to sleep? Overall still excellent cause of other things all is very good.

The hotel location is within 5mins walking distance to City Sq but there is no direct access. The check-in reception is at level 8 whereby the carpark is at level 7, pls note that a lot of transferring are required if you are with stroller and/or luggages. The cleanliness of the room is disappointed as there was an used cotton stick (from previous guest) was left on the bedside table without cleaning and my son took it up to play….

The good: Hotel is modern. Well-renovated. Good location with Komtar and City Square. We registered our car and among the staff we met, the security guard was the most helpful and service-oriented staff. During breakfast, one staff saw that I was carrying my plate in one hand and a baby in the other so she helped me carry the plate to my table which I really appreciate. The bad: Room 2902. Room smelled musty. Non-carpeted area of the floor was sticky to walk on. Bathroom was disgusting. First glance, it looked nice. Then I saw the stains and mould and dust and dirt. I felt really “ick” to use it. We stayed in a twin room and one bed smelled of body odour. Bed too firm for my liking. Breakfast was a chaotic mess. We had to find a table ourselves. There were no cutleries on the table and when I went to a counter where I saw cutleries in the drawers, it was only then the staff stopped me from taking cutleries myself, and set our table. To order eggs, you have to write on a paper how you want your eggs done. It states the order will be sent to our table but I might be mistaken. Orders were not sent. We had to collect it from the egg station. Where there was a “pyramid stack” of cooked uncollected egg orders. There was a play area for kids which is such a great idea but it was filthy and I was reluctant to let my daughter play there. Even though breakfast was already paid for, I skipped breakfast the next day and we left at 9am as we couldn’t wait to check out.

I used to stay at Holiday Inn at various locations. All my previous stay were always satisfactory. I have also booked Holiday Inn Times Square, NYC in Sep 2024. The Holiday Inn City Center JB conditions looks new to me. Check-in and check-out was smooth. However, this time round we were disappointed on the bed fitting and the shower robe towel. At 11:30pm, we noticed that the shower robe towel was not cleaned and it looked like someone has used it before and not washed. When we were about to get into the bed, We noticed that all the pillows, bedsheet have a oily smell. It is obvious that the pillow case and the bedsheet were not changed. We called front desk and they sent the staff to get them changed within reasonable time. I should say the service and response time to rectify the issue is acceptable. However, this incidents should not have happened in the first place. We are disappointed as we trusted the name Holiday Inn that we have great experience in the past. That is also the reason that I always book my hotels with Holiday Inn. I hope this is a one time incident as I will be staying at Holiday Inn in Phoenix, US and also in NYC in Sep 2024.

The service staff were excellent and I enjoyed my stay there. However I think the hotel needs to improve on sound proofing and air ventilation within the hotel. 1) We booked 2 rooms but they could not give us adjoined rooms, which was fine. However we had to share a connecting room with a stranger and they disturbed our peace by turning on the TV very loudly until 1.40am and switched it on again at 6am. In conclusion I think it is not ideal to let hotel guests who don't know each other share adjoined rooms. 2) When we entered the other room, it was filled with stale cigarette smell. Throughout the stay, we continued to smell the cigarette smoke, which likely came from the air con vents.

Excellent large room and bathroom - all spotless, which made for a pleasant stay and the staff are helpful. Can recommend specially if you want to be downtown. Only wish for a sofa with more back support otherwise everything was great.

Breakfast menu variety could be better as the same food variety is served consecutively over 2 days. Otherwise staff service is prompt even during busy hours. High tea food hygiene should be observed. Room is comfortable though the shower room door does not close properly.

Internet was terrible throughout our stay. Could barely use as it doesn't really load simple websites even on our mobile phones. We would also hear audible water sounds (whenever someone upstairs is bathing or flushing the toilet). The worst was the lifts, unfortunately we were staying there during a company event (by Raffles) and we had to share an entire lift load of people and we had to rescan our card more than 30 times due to a glitch in the lift because our room was on a higher floor than any one else in the lift, and the lift buttons kept resetting. Wouldn't have expected such a poor experience with the price that we had paid and such a new hotel. Quite disappointing and wouldn't recommend as there are better hotels in JB

The stay at the Holiday Inn was great. Firstly the customer service and check-in/out process was excellent. We arrived early and they managed to check us in immediately. Front desk was able to send a technician to resolve a small issue we had with the air conditioner promptly as well. We made a mistake and accidentally left our "Do Not Disturb" light on, however, when we requested housekeeping, the staff immediately sent staff to clean up the room. The hotel also accommodated us when we requested for a late check-out. The hotel room itself and the facilities were clean and spacious. The hotel also has the added benefit on being positioned right on top of 2 large malls and right next to the checkpoint to Singapore. This makes it extremely convenient for travel as you do not need to look far for cheap food options, or daily necessities. Additionally, you won't need to rush or take transport to reach the checkpoint if you're heading into Singapore after your stay. Overall, great experience!

Strategic location. Walking distance to JB Sentral and easy to find food as it is surrounded by malls. Hope that the staff is more atrentive to guest's request made during booking. I requested an extra bed during booking and even paid for it during check-in. But the extra bed was not even prepared when we went into the room. Had to wait awhile for the additional bed to be sent to the room. Just shows poor communication among the staff.

During this stay, the front office staff by the name of Vijay was too quick to point out that the room I booked did not come with breakfast when it was clearly stated in my reservation that it came with breakfast. Needless to say this caused unnecessary stress on my part as I had to offer to pay for it. He later went on to say something quite unclear about the front office people who will call me to confirm. However, eventually nobody called to confirm anything and we went for breakfast the next day without any issue. I was honestly upset.

The hotel is located near CIQ and near malls, which is very convenient. The pastry corners in breakfast is great variety of danish pastry, doughnuts , wafers. There are gluten free bread. It would be great if the breakfast has more proteins. There are lot of carbs such as prata, rice, dried bee hoon and noodle soup. Overall experience of room and staff service are excellent.

Location is excellent. Driving up to the parking for holiday inn lobby is not for the faint-hearted. Narrow turns. 😂 Room is great. Very spacious though sofa bed is not for the not-so-young. Probably doable for kids. Not exactly sea view though our room is supposed to have sea view as it’s not on a higher floor. More immigration centre view and sky view. Amenities were provided. Breakfast variety was excellent. Family had lots of items to choose from. However, understaffed. A guest carried his child to juice carrots and celery. The child was stepping on the alcove where the juice glasses are placed for all of us. Wish a staff had told off the parent.

Lovely one-night stay. Comfortable bed. Delicious food @in-room dining. Reception staff efficient & courteous. Breakfast not too bad although my omelette order did not arrive (despite having what I thought is a great system of order which reduces queue & time) - gave up after 30 minutes.

My family like the breakfast, front desk staff serve us during check in and out very good and same as restaurant (breakfast time) very friendly. But the swimming pool on website not expect what we look on that time. haha But, we try to ask extra bed but the staff say cannot because our room too small. and they didn't help us any upgrade room because i with 3 small kids fit at king bed ( the bed size is like queen size bed) we are 5 of us have to squeeze . Friday, i check-in ask for extra towel 2 ( called phone 2 times at front desk) answer but didn't receive. next day going breakfast 5 of us have to share 2 towel and my kids use face towel/ small towel. come back from breakfast i saw housekeeping at corridor and ask towel the staff didn't give but told later they will send. i waited about maybe 15min or more then they send. Thank You!
