From the moment I drove up to the inn I knew this was going to be a special place. Every staff member was EXCEPTIONAL. I’ve never experienced that level of service or luxury before, even at 5 star hotels. The resort buildings and grounds are beautiful and perfectly manicured. There are so many fun activities and places to explore. I even got to participate in star gazing one night and looked through a high-power telescope to see the craters on the moon. The pools are heated to perfection (who knew winter swimming was fun?!) and there are multiple jacuzzis available all day. Relaxation heaven. They have a coffee station in the morning, cookies, tea and lemonade in the afternoon and s’mores in the evenings by the fire. The spa, massage and amenities were great too. Montage has truly perfected the vacation experience. You can lounge and relax or you can have lots of active adventures. It’s not a stuffy atmosphere at all, but rather warm and welcoming and super friendly. I traveled solo and had the best time meeting other travelers. It’s also SUPER dog friendly! My dog enjoyed the trip as much as I did. Miles and miles of trails to walk and explore. They left a bed, bowls, and homemade biscuits for her in the room. She really freaked out over the dog biscuits so they must have been good. All the restaurants and food were exceptional too. Best meals I’ve ever had. Just a perfect 5 star resort!

Auch unser zweiter Besuch war wieder hervorragend. Für einen ganz speziellen Anlass haben wir das Montage kurz vor Weihnachten besucht. Es hätte nicht besser sein können. Der Komfort hier steht ganz klar im Mittelpunkt. Das Personal besticht durch ausgesprochene Höflichkeit und ist immer erreichbar. Gary aus dem Octagon und Guy aus der Hush Bar sind hier besonders zu erwähnen. Zum nächsten speziellen Anlass werden wir hier wieder einchecken.

We had an incredible time at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. The service is unparalleled, and the staff go out of their way to ensure a lovely stay. They have golf carts to shuttle you to and from places on site (dinner, shopping, boating, etc). Additionally, the staff will handle any and all reservations on your behalf. The complimentary bikes allow guests to enjoy a charming way to sight see. There are just so many amenities for a couples weekend or family fun. We loved our weekend away and look forward to returning.

The service was exceptional from the valets to the front desk to the golf cart drivers to the staff at all of the restaurants, everyone was warm, friendly competent and so very helpful. The property is absolutely beautiful, well maintained and has so many activities for all ages. We had 14 people for a family vacation aged 10-86 and everyone loved the trip and can't wait to go back. Lindsey, the photographer on site, did an exceptional job of capturing our family. Would highly recommend the hotel! 10 out of 10 !

The Montage is located in a community called Palmetto Bluff which is tranquil & stunning. That said, one should be well aware of one significant issue; the hotel is "pet friendly." If you appreciate accommodations that do not smell like wet dog, stay away. The carpets are disgusting. I have included some pictures but unfortunately I cannot include the sensation of smell in my review. The stains in the carpet are partially masked by the rug pattern but trust that, in person, the stains are plentiful. Also note, that the pictured carpet had been “deep cleaned.” And finally, the photo of chewed wooden legs are from 2 separate rooms. My sinuses went haywire & ruined all 10 days of our trip in the area & beyond. I STRONGLY suspect there had been cats in the room at some point due to the explosive reaction I suffered. I pleaded to find us a carpet-free room which they finally did on our 3rd day of a 5 night stay. A manager actually asked “have we done anything wrong?” and “the website says we are pet friendly and there are pictures of carpet there as well.” Really? No amount of the hotel\'s "deep cleaning" can nullify the allergens or smell. In fairness I have given the hotel 3 stars for two reasons. The grounds are fabulous & the pet policy may appeal to some. That said, benefit from my VERY unfortunate experience and STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE ANY LEVEL OF ALLERGY OR SIMPLY DON’T WANT TO LIVE WHERE DOG AND PERHAPS OTHER ANIMALS HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS FOR YEARS

Third time we stayed at the Montage and they keep evolving. Beautiful scenery, outstanding service, every employee is so welcoming and helpful. I could not recommend this place more. Rooms have always been nice but the cottage just hits the ball out of the park. WOOOW. Food and drinks were great as usual. Can’t wait to come back.

Montage Palmetto Bluff is a beautiful escape. The entire property is meticulously cared for with wildlife around the area. We saw many deer, fishes, and even some gators in May river. We had a cottage with river views and it was so relaxing. The entire property is dog friendly and I had my two dogs treated like royalty. The River house restaurant is an absolute must. It’s incredibly delicious - so good we ate there twice. My husband and I are already making plans to go back!

This is a very unique and wonderful place. Room, facility, surrounding. But above all we got an exceptional service from in the hotel reception from Jordan. Upon arrival we found out that we forgot our CC in not so near by town. As this was on her way, she volunteered to pick it up for us, with such grace and kindness, and she did. This is far from what you can expect as service. Wow!

My family and I stayed here for the Christmas holiday and I was astonished at the lack of hospitality by a variety of staff members. Valet was rough and short with us. We arrived late after a long day of travel and at check in I asked if we could have a few waters and ice brought to the room. I even mentioned this request to valet when delivering luggage. After an hour called front desk. Next evening placed request for ride to Riverview restaurant. Ride did not show and we walked late to reservation. Riverview restaurant waitress went out of her way to avoid serving our table and she spent most of her time gossiping with staff about patrons. Waitress did not check in on us .No offering of drinks or desserts. Because of the terrible behavior of staff we cut short our Christmas dinner and left. We asked for vegetarian options as mentioned on the Montage website but found restaurants at hotel do not accommodate requests. I also called ahead of our trip and was assured by concierge the chef would accommodate. Didn’t happen. They need to remove that statement.Worst service I have experienced. We have stayed at Montage locations in Mexico and California and the experiences have been fantastic. That prompted us to stay at Palmetto Bluffs. The property is wonderful but staff and management need to step it up to Montage standards.

I stay at this property quite often and am always pleased, but this stay missed the mark. First of all, I checked in at 6:00 pm only to be told they my room was not ready? I have never heard of a room not being ready in the early evening. I had a zoom call I was needing to be dressed and prepared for so this was a great inconvenience. My room service dinner was woefully lacking, as the entree was completely not as described. And my room service breakfast was 30 minutes later than the time promised. Additionally, while I have always found the staff friendly in the last, the receptionist upon my arrival was rude and lost unhelpful about my room not being ready. Extremely disappointed in my very expensive stay.

Our stay was amazing. The entire staff did an excellent job of making us feel welcomed and pampered. The property was flawless and beautiful and there was so much to do and see. Such an emphasis on outdoor living and experiences. Such relaxing surroundings and service everywhere from everyone was truly 5 star! I highly recommend Montage Palmetto Bluff to everyone wanting to experience a vacation of a lifetime!

This was the perfect location to celebrate my 50th birthday with girlfriends. We loved being able to walk or bike to restaurants and activities. The spa was top notch. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Every detail was covered. Truly 5-star, luxury vacation, but nothing felt stuffy or elite. Everyone was extremely friendly and genuine.

The Montage is truly the most breathtaking destination in the Lowcountry. A fall stay here is especially magical—the setting feels whimsical, almost like being transported into a dream. From the stunning atmosphere to the exceptional food and drink, every detail is top-notch. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place and amazing grounds and very friendly staff. The only thing they are missing in some sort of casual restaurant or sports bar on the grounds, as the speakeasy was closed every night we were there. Overall, this place was great.

we ate dinner at the river house and loved it so much, we returned the next night! impeccable service and delicious food...our server Benny was magnificent! highly recommend - a must do for anyone in the area, whether staying at the hotel or not!
