I had a solo one-night stay to help a family member. The facility was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. It is an older facility, so understnad that going in, but dont let that be a deterent. My only suggestions would be better lighting in the parking areas.

I enjoyed my stay with the exception ,we went to the pool one evening and were leaving and were met by some man I assume he was staff who kept telling us that we couldn't be in the pool because it wasn't certified for us to be in there at that time.Not sure what that was all about. We were getting out of the pool anyway. We had asked at check in for a pool closing time and weren't given a time. It was about 830pm.Oh and there weren't any pool towels.

Overall a great value. Clean room, great location close to historic Manteo. Wonderful and responsive staff. Well equipped gym. Only complaint was there was no mattress cover which I find to be substandard for a Wyndham.

Very noisy due to room beside us had an unattended dog that barked consistently for hours and randomly throughout the night. Property is dated. The air conditioning unit had a very loud vibration and rattled when on. The bathroom vent was extremely loud and was connected to the overhead light so you could not operate them independently. There was a lot of light that shown into the room around the door that opened into the hotel and made it difficult to sleep. The pros are the location and ease of parking.

Clean spacious room. They are currently doing a major remodel and both pools were not in service but they offered free use of the local Y. We knew in advance the pool was not available. Not a deal breaker for us. Bed was was very comfortable.

Hotel Manteo has been a great experience. VERY clean and comfortable room, close to fishing, parks and scenic Old Town. Firetender restaurant on site has a wonderful breakfast and full bar.

It was horrible. The hallways had a strong odor that was very unpleasant. Our room had dusty baseboards. The sink soap dispenser did not have a lid/cover and the liquid soap was old. The hair and body products in the shower dispenser were old and grumpy. Black mold along the shower door corners and door slide. There was an inch gap on the door. Furnishing were old and outdated, nothing as described. Floor was dirty and towels were not fresh. I will never stay at this hotel or recommend to anyone!

The first room we checked in to was not cleaned from previous guests. Very disgusting. The parking lot was difficult to navigate at night too. The second room we were given was better (at least maybe clean sheets). But the rest of room looked as though it hadn't been cleaned either. Toilet paper left in the toilet. Seat was wet. No toilet paper holder. Shower walls were nasty. Towels didn't seem clean. Some were damp. Humidity in the room was horrible. One of the lights didn't work. There were flies and dead bugs on the ground. No one had swept. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired and organization clearly was not there at this hotel

The front staff at check-in was great. Very friendly. The room appeared clean until we took off our shoes. The floor was sticky and we had black stuff all over our feet. The toilet clogged and we had to get a plunger. One issue that really bothered me was the details of the hotel said breakfast was available. It was not. And it being a Sunday morning, most places on the island were closed. I added pictures of what the rag looked like when we wiped our feet off. Very yucky.

False advertising. We paid for a standard king room & our room was nothing like what is pictured/described on the website. They state that the room is “spacious” which is the furthest thing from the truth. Our room was an actual shoebox. So small. You can literally barely fit through the door to get in the bathroom (we are not big people either). A large person would truthfully not be able to fit. They also state that the room would have a chair…not only was there no chair…there wouldn’t even be room for a chair. We were super disappointed & it’s a shame they trick people like that. Also, there were no blackout curtains which was unfortunate because our room was bright until the sun was completely down (toddler had trouble).

Our stay overall was nice. The rooms were clean which is appreciated however, the rooms do need TLC. Cheap upgrades and some bad repairs. The one thing I will talk about is the bathroom's.....they are entirely to TIGHT! My 8 year old could not use the toilet without hugging the wall.

Staff was not very hospitable and we asked when our room would be cleaned we were told they did not have maid service then another front desk employee told us rooms are cleaned every 3 days . We were they 4 nights and our room was never cleaned. We had to bring our dirty towels to the desk and get fresh ones. It was not worth the money we paid.

Hotel Manteo will be our go too place to stay when in town. Very clean and updated and love the easy check in and check out via text. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend that if you are bringing a dog, let them know right away. They list pet friendly on the web site but when making the reservation, there is not a place to choose a pet fee. I highly recommend Hotel Manteo.

I don't want this to actually be a complaint because the staff was great but, at check in, the key programmer wasn't working so we had to prop open the door for a while so we could load in. After I did get a key card, we only received one and there were actually two of us so a little inconvenient. Also, the key card would only work on the outside door and would not work on the inside door. Other than that, everything was okay. Loved the new restaurant.

Lindsey at the front desk was wonderful! I had a very nice room with a pool view - lights were strung across the pool area so it was really lovely in the evenings. Nicely equipped room with great bed and pillows. I came in at night and the parking lots were a bit dark and confusing to navigate - the hotel is spread out with 3 buildings. I think where your room is can make all the difference in the feel of your stay. I was very happy.

The check-in lady at the front desk was attempting to be accommodating, however, was running into multiple difficulties with several clients Consequently taking a long time to check patients in. Noted multiple issues with others reservations. No issues on our end. However, the whole check-in took approximately 45 minutes.

Signed up for king and got 2 full bed room. No desk, no chair to sit in. Door was damaged did not lock properly. Space around door and underneath. They offered me another room. Same door not latch. Next door dog barking. Advertised breakfast not available. Store empty. Run down room with peeling paint. Requested early check out. Told I had to pay since after 11 am. Terrible place. Description not accurate.

The property has recently been updated and is absolutely beautiful although the cleanliness could be of a higher standard and laundry facilities would be nice. The staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and super helpful. The restaurant was beautiful, the breakfast was Delicious. The breakfast menu could use a few more options and a coffee upgrade as it was almost not drinkable, but that's obviously personal taste. The pool was lovely. We had a room up front and had to deal with the noise of the traffic which at times sounded like a race track. All in all it was definitely worth the money.

My husband and I came for the weekend. I know that the hotel has gone thru some renovations and changes. Beds very comfortable, room nice and clean, friendly staff. Need to work on a few things such as having ice and a container to put ice in. Better coffee and more choices for breakfast besides a pop tart.
