Lift didn’t work properly all else was great

Nice convenient hotel. Abit pricy on the parking charges and limited amount of parking spaces. Room ok. Booked to stay with a dog. Said on website you would get dog bowls in the room. Nothing supplied. Breakfast is ok, food is hot. Nice choices.

Short of staff. Poorly trained staff. No restaurant.

This is a brand new hotel - which is a great addition to Paignton. Check in went without a hitch so they seem to have fixed the previous issues ive encountered. Rooms are very modern, well appointed but as this is an ibis hotel you only get two pillows, with one extra in the wardrobe. The aircon/bathroom fan makes noise most of the night even when turned off and the bathroom light is off. It actually woke us at 6am. Restaurant was undergoing some work during our stay so we didnt use the bar like we normally would, it was still open though. There was a used toilet roll behind the toilet in the room, but can see how this would be easily missed. The automatic front door is still broken - although im told they are awaiting a fix on this! Lifts are tempremental and often dont register your card. This hotel absolutely gives value for money, but isnt somewhere id stay for a relaxing break.

In its price bracket there’s little to fault, but parking is limited and tight even off season.i paid for parking (£15/night) on checkin but wasn’t guaranteed parking. On checkout zi was chased for parking despite having paid. I have no other negative comments to make.

Weekend stay for a birthday. Hotel is lovely. Staff are very good. No problem staying here again. Only negative I have is the price of parking here.

Had a very nice stay here, staff friendly & helpful, hotel very clean & rooms with iron & board included as well as the hairdrdryer & kettle. The only BIG downfall is the parking, or lack of it! They say parking is available but fail to inform you that you have to pay an extra £15 per night for the car & there is only 19 spaces for a hotel that has 428 rooms, you are not guaranteed a space even if you pay!! If you don’t travel by car then great place to stay

Last time i stayed at this hotel they could not find my prepaid booking. I had to pay again for a room and hotels.com got me a refund. On my stay last night, which again is prepaid and prebooked i encountered issues. My booking was found but the receptionist advised i needed to still pay. I didnt. I showed clearly how i had booked and the payment being made. I was then advised on the ibis system it showed the bookjng had come via Expedia (i do not use them) it is very very frustrating that this site does not seem to have worked through its opening teething troubles. The automatic front doors are still a problem, they open half way then stop and move very slowly - this is dangerous. When we finally checked in to the room we found it to be dirty, as detailed in the picture. It looked like someone had spilled a drink on the bed side table. However, on to the positives - as a new hotel the lobby areas are immaculate. The staff are all clearly new so busy learning but have all been pleasant. The bathroom design leads to a very wet bathroom floor - but the shower was hot and had great water pressure. The bed is comfy and id stay again, this place will easily achieve 5 stars if it can fix the basics.

We often stay at this Ibis as it provides value for money when booking in advance, so this is at least the 5th stay. The bed is huge, but felt like it had a wooden plank securing the two beds together impossible to rest/lay on - so not ideal for a couple. Aircon was a blessing as this visit was during a heatwave. The hotel seems to struggle with staffing at times, bar can be painfully slow. Front door still opens at a snails pace. Staff have always been pleasant and friendly. Noise from the lift is very annoying, I'm sure the volume could be turned down. I'll always recommend this Ibis for a short break and for those unfamiliar with the area you couldnt get closer to the action - the beach is a few moments walk, plenty of bars and restaurants, 5 minutes to the train and bus stations.

Our room wasn’t cleaned from previous guest, to be honest it was a right state, and there wasn’t another room available. They kindly arranged for us to stay at a nearby hotel but the experience was time consuming and very amateur. No compensation was offered. I have never stayed at a hotel that allows its customers to go to a room that hasn’t been cleaned from the previous guest and had beer glasses etc everywhere bed was a state still. I was embarrassed for them and sad they never suggested compensation. Such a missed opportunity to wow us instead of leaving me with the impression I need to warn others to consider if this hotel will treat them in a similar way. If you are keen on having a Fawlty Towers style stay then this hotel could be for you.

My partner and I stayed last night and noticed the bathroom was dirty and clearly showed that it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. As for the breakfast there was no hash brown, tomatoes or even fried eggs with the continental, not much cereal or fruit to choose from either. In the room it was cold due to the air conditioning which we turned off a few times but it kept turning itself back on.

Lovely friendly staff, very well kept public areas. Decent breakfast with lots of choicds. Really lovely view across the bay. Let down by a very very dirty shower head with mildew/mould that fell on me during the shower and vents so full of dust they do not work. Mattress felt like it needed changing.

Probably the worst hotel stay I've had since 2020! I've stayed at this Ibis many many times, mainly it has been positive (and i have left plenty of positive reviews) but this stay was terrible. Tried to check in, they advised room not ready, be about 20-25 minutes. I could see a lot of other people waiting. I am patient, i sat and had a drink and allowed an hour to pass before going back to up to the desk. Room still not ready, they can offer me another one. I'll take it, I've used annual leave and have plans! I get into the room and it was clear IMMEDIATELY it had been poorly cleaned. It apppeared that there was dried sick on the carpet, stains, spills, muck, wrappers and a general smell. I go back to reception, i explain my plans are already in tatters, can my room be cleaned if i go out. I get back later and the surfaces had been done, the room freshened and a towel placed over the staining. I appreciate it was probably the best they could do. The hallways were so full of takeaway boxes and bottles, the guests the night before had obviously been party animals. All staff i interacted with were friendly but this Ibis now seems beset with problems, it is either being understaffed on purpose, or cannot retain staff. It will be my last stay at this hotel unless i see the reviews jump up. Noone expects funfair and fanfair from a budget hotel, but being able to check in and having a clean room really is a minimum

When we checked in to room we found 2 pairs of ladies dirty underwear in the bed side cabinet The room was very basic no fridge for my medicine! One chair in the room! No no sauna as advertised which hasn’t been working for months. The only reason we went in hotel because of all the extra facilities. I complained to the front desk on three different occasions they all promised me they would make notes and let the management know. Hope nobody did surprise. One of the staff said to method hotel is the basic of the basic but the price was very expensive. Would never stay in an Ibis hotel again. We’ve stayed in the Mercure hotel next door, which was excellent ! Breakfast in the hotel was very basic not much on display. Staff looks very scruffy. This was a very poor decision to stay in Ibis Hotel Expedia website said the hotel was excellent, but they need to read what they put on there because it doesn’t work

The hotel is nice but rooms are really dusty. I have a few photos I can send over if you provide me with an email address? It's not ideal for someone like myself who suffers with asthma as it made my breathing much worse. There was so much dust in the carpets, on some surfaces, in the vents for the air con units. Really not acceptable. I suggest that the cleaners are provided with hoovers with full filtration system so that dust is not projected back out.

Lovely new hotel, staff lovely. Room wasn’t amazingly clean do check the linen when you stay. Room was also quite small but for the price I paid I was satisfied. Very close to the beach and town

Nice room, modern facilities. Nice sea view if you can get one. Breakfast in the restaurant adequate rather than outstanding. Overall a decent place to stay.

Room was too warm could reduce aircon

An enjoyable stay at the Ibis Styles. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed (got a good sleep.) Good facilities & a descent size walk in shower. Great location, on the front opposite the pier. Breakfast was very good for self service, I enjoyed my Full English. The only downsides: Expensive parking, no fridge in the room, AC lacked power to initially cool the room. Would I return? ~ Yes! ~

Stayed in room 415. Pros, lovely uninterrupted views of Paignton Harbour, Brixham, Torquay and Thatchers rock. No matter the weather it is a glorious view, especially at sunrise and sunset. Negatives, had to ask for the water that is meant to be included in premier rooms, this particular room is showing damage to the ceiling, with a frankly awful luminous green light that is on 24/7 and actaully casts shadows at night. If i had realised before bedtime i would have asked for a different room Also, if you happen to be sat up in bed resting against the headboard and the room next door dont hold the door as they go in and out you will get an almighty THUMP through the wall. Overall, unless the view is important the paid upgrade is not worth it.

Overall a nice hotel. Although this was a new hotel the TV didn’t work and the WIFI. Very poor when not in communal area. Watch out at the bar tried as they tried to charge us doubles when only given single measures.

Stayed in room 327, which had a partial sea view. Very clean, comfortable and the staff were excellent - incredibly friendly and offering proactive service.

Modern hotel with air con in rooms- Poor bathroom design, use the shower and the entire floor gets wet. Curtains let lot of light in at the sides, tv remote was complex. Decent breakfast thou and the location directly on the sea front can’t be beaten!

Great stay very close to the beach,town and all the excitement venues. Great friendly staff with a smile.

Excellent staff, should be appluaded for how quickly they work at the peak times! Comfy rooms, value for money compared to other places in Paignton, we stay regularly and always recommend it.

I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the service and conditions experienced during my stay at your hotel. Despite raising concerns during our visit, no action was taken to address the following unacceptable issues: • Air Conditioning and Room Comfort: The air conditioning and fan in our room were completely non-functional. The room had no windows that could be opened, resulting in unbearable heat—over 25°C—even in the evening. It was impossible to rest or sleep in such conditions. • Room Cleanliness: Our room had clearly not been cleaned, which added further to our discomfort and dissatisfaction. • Lack of Staff and Communication: Upon trying to get service at the bar, we waited 25 minutes before being told that staff should be starting soon. When we returned another 30 minutes later, there was still no one available. This was not a one-off occurrence—staff were notably absent throughout our stay. • No In-Room Phone: Our room lacked even a basic telephone. This is not only highly inconvenient but also a safety concern in the case of an emergency. I attempted to call reception multiple times from my mobile with no response, despite having call logs to prove my efforts. • Lack of Support: I was forced to come down to reception in person—while trying to get ready for bed—just to get any form of help. This is simply unacceptable and demonstrates a serious failure in customer service and hotel operations. Given these numerous issues, I am demanding

On arrival was told the computer had allowed for double booking and there were no rooms available. Was directed to their sister hotel Mercure (which was lovely!). The problem was that the payment was not transferred and payment had to be made to the Mercure, so paid twice. It took days to resolve

A great stay The hotel is right on the sea front and 2 minutes walk to the town center and train station. All the stuff were very friendly and helpful. The reception and dining area is set out well and is very clean and spacious. The room was very clean and cleaned every day. The staff were not knocking your door at 9am to clean your room like in some places I've stayed. The shower room was a good size with a good amount of towels and clean. If you are going to Paignton and want to stay somewhere close to all the entertainment venues and beach this is the place for you.

We have stayed here before and breakfast was acceptable but not the best presentation and not cooked well. There was a choice of poached or fried eggs to order and scrambled on buffet. There is only scrambled egg available now and no tomatoes, which doesn't please everyone...certainly not us or other guests we spoke to. Think twice before staying again.

The location and service for this hotel were amazing. The room condition, bathroom etc, were clean and tidy. The only thing that was not appealing was the Breakfast. The choices were limited and not worth the value. The price paid for this breakfast was £15, but not satisfied.

Good location, short walk from town centre and opposite the pier. On the negative, no fried or poached eggs available at breakfast, just scrambled and also no tomatoes. Also, no hot food available after five pm.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Very comfortable. Staff wonderful and made Christmas a really special treat. 1 gripe. Eggs stone cold!!. Only spoiler on a great stay
