Courtyard by Marriott St Paul Downtown

Wonderful stay! The staff were just incredibly kind and accomodating. The hotel was very clean and the location couldn't be beat. We attended a concert at the Xcel Energy Ceter - this hotel was in the perfect spot to walk to restaurants and the venue. There is not a continental breakfast, but they did have a Starbucks on property which was a nice touch, and the bar restaurant attached was great for a quick drink and some apps after the show. Valet parking will cost you extra, but the convenience of that in downtown St. Paul was worth it. The valet drivers were so kind and quick to help out whenever we were ready to grab our vehicle. Overall, a fantastic spot to stay if you have anything going on downtown! We would choose this spot again next time we're in town.

We were disappointed the pool was freezing cold, but other than that our stay was amazing! Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, valet parking was also courteous and fast. It was overall a nice night away.

It’s really disappointing that the hotel charges you so much money for parking when you can park in the same place for half the price if you just drove your car across the street to the parking ramp. I was so disappointed in the gouge rate. We have enough people stealing money from us.

The facility was super nice...staff was friendly. My only beef was that you are forced to use valet parking and you have to pay an extra $35 a night for it. They do not offer self park ot have a parking lot. Also...thry actually charged me $40 for parking and considerably more than what the Hotels.com receipt said...but otherwise it was nice and convenient for a concert at thr Xcel.

Love this property! This is our second time staying here! Super clean and trendy rooms. Lots of restaurants/bars within walking distance. Right across the street from Xcel! Nice pool but no hot tub.

Hotel was nice. Wasn’t a fan of Valet being the only parking option and then being charged $35 extra a night for it. Great place if you’re at the Xcel for an event. St Paul however is not what it once was so don’t leave the block to the North, gets sketchy fast.

I reserved a room with two queen beds and got a room with one bed and a pull out couch. My back is aching today. Valet lost my car fob and brought me the wrong car. We waited an hour for our car.

Hotel was clean, nice and staff was awesome. You have to Valet park because there is no place close that allows over night parking. But Valet service was courteous and speedy.

I've stayed here a few times. Its very convenient across from the Xcel! The staff are all very nice.the rooms are very clean and modern. I love this place!

Our room had a dirty wine glass, only decaf coffee, and a washcloth with a hole in it. Room was good otherwise. I shared this with the front desk and she waved one night parking fee. She was very helpful.

We found rodent droppings on the dresser upon awakening. They denied having a problem and when I asked for a refund or a discount they gave us a $10 gift card toward breakfast.

Rooms were very clean and spacious. This was such a great location for us. We were going to a concert at the palace theatre. We had 3 kids with and it was with in walking distance of the theatre as well as the children’s museum and the science museum. Restaurants are mostly up scale in this area so finding something for lunch with kids was a little tough. Most places were expensive. Cosettas was our FAVORITE place to visit and also within walking distance.

Terrific stay. Room was comfortable and quiet (once the crowds left the stadium!) Great location to attend game at the stadium. Easy to use valet parking.

Most comfortable pull out bed ever in history of pullout beds. Main king bed was like a cloud. Very helpful and kind staff. One of best hotels we have stayed in. Two thumbs up.

One desk clerk out of 5 was pretty rude and snarky... The other staff was fine. The room was decent, only one desk and one nightstand for 2 beds, no other tables. Inconvenient in that way, but still decent. Broken light shade for bedside lamp/sconce. Incredibly loud doors to close, unavoidable. Only free coffee is in room, and breakfast is pricey.

Hotel staff was great! Very friendly and helpful. Room was big, bathroom was big. Only thing we didnt like was the beds were uncomfortable. Didn't hear people in the halls or above us. Also didnt hear people outside after the concert.

Super clean and nice! Unfortunately I can hear literally every car noise at all hours of the day and night from my room. I was on the 4th floor. They changed me to the 5th floor, facing a different direction, but no luck. No sleep for 2 nights, tossed and turned all night due to loud cars racing, ambulances and police sirens. Bummer as it’s a nice hotel :/

Very clean, very comfortable beds. Only complaint we had was not a working bathroom fan and we needed the front desk help with streaming service stopped working out of nowhere. Beautiful stay and it was the absolute perfect stay for the show we went to at Xcel Energy Center.

Zero stars would be my honest review. My flight was cancelled from Chicago to Minneapolis. I drove 5.5 hours just to learn my room was given away and they had no other open rooms. The woman at the front desk was unapologetic and generally just rude . Based off my impressions of her I will never attempt to stay at a Marriott hotel ever again because clearly this chick lacks training and isn’t compensated well enough to bring a positive attitude to work. Isn’t the concierge supposed to be welcoming? No, worries I drove to the Hampton Inn by Hilton and had a lovely stay !! Maybe the Marriott Staff could take some pointers from Hilton .

Staff was amazing & friendly. Valet guys were so helpful and friendly-would 100% recommend to others and when we go to next xcel event we will stay again!

The hotel itself is nice. However it’s a new hotel directly across the street from the xcel energy center. They should be aware of events taking place. We showed up on a Thursday at 5:30 and there were a bunch of people waiting for rooms in the lobby. They didn’t know there was an event that night. I feel like they should be aware of events being across the street? And also maybe wonder why they have so many reservations on a Thursday. Valet parking was a hot mess. And it was $37!!!! After tax. Ridiculous. They put someone’s else’s key in my tag and then I had to say no that’s mine… and they had to tape it to my key. Very unorganized. Also my room was 80° when I got in there so that wasn’t a nice welcoming.

We went to a concert and this worked out perfect, we just walked across the street to go home. Would be nice to park the car ourselves but we understand space is an issue.

I booked the Courtyard of its location to the Xcel Center. It was perfect(across the street). The only thing I don’t care for is that the Marriotts do not include breakfast and they only have valet parking which adds on 35$ to the price.

The property itself was beautiful. Hotel was exceptionally clean and modern. Hotel staff at front desk was friendly and helpful. That being said, the property was not in a good location. They have a beautiful outdoor lounge area. One of the main reasons we booked here. We were traveling in a group and wanted to gather outside. Sadly, the homeless people from across the street kept coming onto the property and were bothering us. The staff tried their best to direct them off the property but without any sort of fencing they were able to harass and bother guests. The area surrounding the property was not safe. We stayed there because it was close to the train for us to take to Allianz Stadium. The walk to and from the train was actually pretty terrifying. We were with our children and we were being harassed by the homeless people, and they were following us talking very vulgar. Now let’s talk about parking. They have no overnight parking unless you pay $35 per vehicle to have them valet park. While I thought this was excellent convenient, it proved to be concerning. My son left an item in the vehicle with an AirTag. Suddenly, we got notification that my vehicle was moving and traveling around the area. We were at the stadium at a soccer game and could see the vehicle moving. After returning to the hotel after several hours, I expressed my concern and they brought my vehicle to me to check over. They could not answer why they were driving my vehicle around. Overall not safe.

Valet parking was quick and easy. It's a new hotel so everything was very clean. The location was key. Literally across the street from the Xcel Energy Center. There was road construction so it was a little noisy, but that won't be the all the time. Check in was super efficient. You are in downtown St Paul so there are some interesting characters wandering around. The hotel keeps them off their property though.

We did not feel safe outside of the hotel. This was our first time in this city, and it definitely left a bad impression for us.

It is a wonderful new hotel. Super close to the Xcel. I wish that they would keep the little restaurant/bar open all day not just a few hours in the morning and a few at night. Parking is a problem.

A continental breakfast would be nice. Free coffee and danishes is all I’m asking for.

When you decide to order in and are told they have no food due to concerts, poor planning. I then had to purchase through door dash which I do not use due to extra expense. Front line staff were arguing openly. The one bright staff member checked us in and out. That portion of our stay was the only reason I gave 2 stars for staff!!! Find out from our records who he is.

Homeless encampment (tent city) across the street. Adjacent to the Dorothy Day Residence. We observed several ambulance/medical calls to that location during our one night stay. The entrance to the hotel property is difficult to find as it is located in an alley half way in the block and one must pay $35 ( tax) for valet parking as there are very limited options for overnight parking. The property itself still had the new smell to it. Nice and clean. Employees were excellent but appeared to be short staffed. Breakfast was tasty. I would go with the french toast again. The pool was a little chilly at first but recovered quickly. No hot tub.
