The hotel is nicely done and kept incredibly clean. It is quiet and the staff are mostly friendly. The swimming pool is massive and there is good availability of sun beds across the day, although there are very few around the children’s pool. The play area is small and designed for toddlers, but there is a full agenda of activities in the kids club. The disco was a bit of a disappointment, it starts late and while the staff are great and incredibly enthusiastic, there is not much dancing and the music is often specific to the hotel. The hotel bar is also very reasonably priced. There are only two areas that let the hotel down for us. The first was that the room was not what we booked. As we were travelling with a toddler, we specifically booked a room that said it had a separate bedroom. When we got to the hotel, it turned out this type of room doesn’t exist. Furthermore, the sink and shower are in the bedroom, meaning that it is almost impossible to stay up once your child is asleep. The other area was the restaurant. The food is average and either has no label or is incorrectly labelled. Very few items have allergens available and it is difficult to find this information from the staff

We all loved this hotel. The biggest surprise was heated pool (main pool and kids slides), food was absolutely amazing, a lot of choice in breakfast and dinner (didn’t had lunch cos we were on half board). Nice bars for drinks and cocktails. We enjoyed to the max….. will definitely go there again. Highly recommended

Hotel was very clean and staff were excellent very friendly & helpful. Buffet breakfast was good but nothing too special and a wee bit chaotic at times. Pool was excellent as it was heated and towel service great.

Stayed here for work, was pleasent enough buffet dinner was ok breakfast was better. Lovely Gym with views and open air breeze. Room was ok balcony was lovely, shame there wasn’t any robes or slippers provided. Bar staff were lovely. Overall an ok stay very big hotel not sure I’d stay with the family.

Food options not great. Entertainment pretty average. Only one pool bar with snacks for quite a big pool. So a lot of walking is needed. Towel service was great. Rooms too small and having no separate bathroom (just a shower space in the room) wasn’t convenient with kids.

Ottima struttura, consigliata sia per famiglie che per gruppi o coppie. Unica pecca è che essendo talmente grande spesso sembra di essere soli, belli anche gli spettacoli, ma con poca clientela essendoci talmente tante cose da fare. Il menu del buffet a volte è ripetitivo, ma lo consiglio vivamente.

Very beautiful resort, but we arrived just 1 month after opening. Room was nice, but was not clean. Very much dust and my socks got so dirty by walking in the room. We paid for a swimup room, which was lovely, ask for room 1245, it is a corner room and has the biggest pool area! Water not heated, and in winter time it was freezing, but I was prepared for that so no complaints. We also had Royal Level access and it was SO worth it! If you travel without children, do not hesitate! The food in Magical restaurant was GREAT, kudos to the chefs! Breakfast, lunch and dinner service SUPERB! Not all restaurants was open when we were there, unfortunately. I would have loved to try KOI. I think after a couple of months and by summer this will be a great resort. Maybe a little bit cleaner, pool a bit warmer. It was very few guests, so the whole place was very quiet. I think Barcelo Playa Blanca is a good choice if you want and can pay for something more upscale in Lanzarote. But do choose Royal Level!

We had a wonderful 9 days at Barcelo Playa Blanca. It was a wonderful hotel with amazing facilities, incredibly clean and rooms were fantastic. This was pretty much the first time we’ve done a half board basis and the value was amazing, saving us a fortune for a family of 6 where we normally spend upwards of £150 a day on food and eating out. So overall a fantastic trip, a superb hotel with great staff, service and amazing facilities.

So overall a fantastic trip, a superb hotel with great staff, service and amazing facilities.

We are currently staying at the hotel. Please avoid hotel. They do not care about their guests. I have tried to communicate with management and they are not forthcoming avoiding contact. From day one the buffet restaurant was poor under cooked food no regimen. You have to seat yourself and battle your way through to find a vacant table. The plates are disgusting, all of them are covered in a greasy film and check every plate because you will find dirty food either underneath on top. The cups and glasses are exactly the same. We have complained and asked for a refund for our half board. They have refused this. Only offering to pay the remaining days but not the sub standard days. We have felt unwell since we started eating here. my wife is pregnant too . We blame feeling unwell on the very substandard hygiene. God only knows how bad it is in the kitchen. The room is pleasant and fresh but it doesn't get cleaned properly. All of the staff seem miserable. We have stayed at the next door hotel for several years the level of service from staff and cleanliness in this hotel will never be reached by Barceló. Some serious changes need to be made at this hotel. If they are willing to listen to their guests but right now they are not. Good luck Barcelo you are gonna need it with this attitude.

Arrived at 12/30 room not ready. That was fine went back at normal 3pm check in to be told it was still not ready. The head chambermaid has to inspect the room. We got into the room at 3/50. She didn’t do a very good job. There was about a dozen little ants having a party in the bathroom. I managed to squash about 10 of them. More appeared later. I Complained at reception about them nothing was done. Back down to reception after coming in late at night to find them in the bathroom and bedroom I was given a can of ant spray. We had dead ants all over the floor skirting boards and walls for the 4 day stay. They were never cleaned up. The food in the main restaurant wasn’t great. Lukewarm at best. There was plenty to go around but just not warm enough. I managed to lose 3 pounds in weight. So it wasn’t all bad. As for the room and hotel it is lovely. It was my third stay since it opened. Will I be back unlikely.

Nice new hotel but lacking some staple comforts required of a holiday. Positives - location, free parking, ambience and animation team were excellent. Its gorgeous to look at! Negatives - food (nothing labelled and cold), room layout, maid walked in and stared at my husband on the toilet and wouldnt leave. Very strange. Didnt offer us a welcome drink, water takes ages to get hot. Our balcony and windows were directly adjacent to the gym so we couldnt open curtains or yse balcony without seeing people working out right next to us. The heated pool was nice but the cold pool was full of seagulls. Surely this is not hygienic. We would come again for the right price but we over paid which highlighted the negatives.

Beautiful new hotel on the beachfront. Room spacious and lovely decor. Shower and sink unit in main bedroom with toiled separate. Not sure if I liked concept! My main dislike was that two single bed were pushed together to make king size, each with separate bedding and not tied to each other. Beds were on wheels and kept moving if you turned. My main dislike was that two single bed were pushed together to make king size, each with separate bedding and not tied to each other. Beds were on wheels and kept moving if you turned. Food options not great. Entertainment pretty average. Only one pool bar with snacks for quite a big pool. So a lot of walking is needed. Towel service was great. Rooms too small and having no separate bathroom (just a shower space in the room) wasn’t convenient with kids.

I stayed for four nights B&B in a stylish room with a comfortable bed and rainfall shower. Nice grounds and pool, excellent breakfast, several dining options, friendly and helpful staff - but all was not good. First problem - check-in is really slow - only two staff, who were taking almost ten minutes per guest/group - I had to queue for 30 minutes to then be told that my room was not ready yet, and then come back and queue again for another 20 minutes just to get my room number. Second problem - the seating in the room is more style than practical, and it is not comfortable if you have a back problem like I do - there was a lounger with no upper back support, and a very low chair - when I sat, my knees were above my waist. The hotel did provide me with a normal height chair from the restaurant, but this was very basic and not comfortable. I solved the problem by adding a cushion to the base of the low chair to raise the height of the seat, and another on the back for extra support. For these reasons I will not be coming back.

We had a wonderful 9 days at Barcelo Playa Blanca. It was a wonderful hotel with amazing facilities, incredibly clean and rooms were fantastic. This was pretty much the first time we’ve done a half board basis and the value was amazing, saving us a fortune for a family of 6 where we normally spend upwards of £150 a day on food and eating out. So overall a fantastic trip, a superb hotel with great staff, service and amazing facilities.

One of the most gorgeous huge hotels we have ever stayed at!! Modern deco. Loads of space everywhere. Never felt crowded. Stunning views & easy walk (10 mins to the main town) & beach (5 mins). Rooms are beautifully appointed. Buffet area large & tastefully decorated. Might be a little short on staff some days ... But not a complaint. Love that they don't charge for sparkling water!!!

The hotel looks amazing. Check in seemed to take a long time to check in as there was only one person at the check in desk. The room on the royal adults only side was clean and nice. I didn’t like the key bracelet as it kept frying and getting too tight on my wrist.The magical restaurant look great but was unorganised with no one seeming to know what they should be doing as the tables were not clean away and reset up quickly and I was waiting for a coffee cup for over 20 minutes and had asked 3 times for a cup. The food was slow to come out in to the buffet area.we also had a power cut one night around midnight and our room was lite up by a bright emergency light which was on all night until 7 am when they turned the power back on. The manger of the hotel did give us a complementary meal in the Mexican restaurant which was great and very well run by the staff plus the food was great.

Furthermore, the sink and shower are in the bedroom, meaning that it is almost impossible to stay up once your child is asleep. The other area was the restaurant. Nice new hotel but lacking some staple comforts required of a holiday. Positives - location, free parking, ambience and animation team were excellent. Its gorgeous to look at! Negatives - food (nothing labelled and cold), room layout, maid walked in and stared at my husband on the toilet and wouldnt leave. Very strange. Didnt offer us a welcome drink, water takes ages to get hot. Our balcony and windows were directly adjacent to the gym so we couldnt open curtains or yse balcony without seeing people working out right next to us. The heated pool was nice but the cold pool was full of seagulls. Surely this is not hygienic. We would come again for the right price but we over paid which highlighted the negatives.

A great hotel with lots of space and sleek modern design. The breakfast is great with lots to choose from but the evening meal selection is very similar after a while. However would highly recommend to stay at this hotel which is a great location.

We all loved this hotel. The biggest surprise was heated pool (main pool and kids slides), food was absolutely amazing, a lot of choice in breakfast and dinner (didn’t had lunch cos we were on half board). Nice bars for drinks and cocktails. We enjoyed to the max….. will definitely go there again. Highly recommended

Arrived at 12/30 room not ready. That was fine went back at normal 3pm check in to be told it was still not ready. The head chambermaid has to inspect the room. We got into the room at 3/50. She didn’t do a very good job. There was about a dozen little ants having a party in the bathroom. I managed to squash about 10 of them. More appeared later. I Complained at reception about them nothing was done. Back down to reception after coming in late at night to find them in the bathroom and bedroom I was given a can of ant spray. We had dead ants all over the floor skirting boards and walls for the 4 day stay. They were never cleaned up. The food in the main restaurant wasn’t great. Lukewarm at best. There was plenty to go around but just not warm enough. I managed to lose 3 pounds in weight. So it wasn’t all bad. As for the room and hotel it is lovely. It was my third stay since it opened. Will I be back unlikely.
Arrived at 12/30 room not ready. That was fine went back at normal 3pm check in to be told it was still not ready. The head chambermaid has to inspect the room. We got into the room at 3/50. She didn’t do a very good job. There was about a dozen little ants having a party in the bathroom. I managed to squash about 10 of them. More appeared later. I Complained at reception about them nothing was done. Back down to reception after coming in late at night to find them in the bathroom and bedroom I was given a can of ant spray. We had dead ants all over the floor skirting boards and walls for the 4 day stay. They were never cleaned up. The food in the main restaurant wasn’t great. Lukewarm at best. There was plenty to go around but just not warm enough. I managed to lose 3 pounds in weight. So it wasn’t all bad. As for the room and hotel it is lovely. It was my third stay since it opened. Will I be back unlikely.
