Stayed 7 nights

This modern and cute vacation rental has a fantastic location near a public beach with amazing water and the Sofitel Hotel, ideal for snorkeling. Access is via a dirt road, which might be tricky for small cars after heavy rain. The house is clean and comfortable, offering a washing machine and clothesline. We enjoyed the porch swings, though the table chair cushions were dirty with stuck zippers so couldn't wash them. Lizards were present in house (on walls) but harmless.Connected to the owner's home (they occupy one half), the walls are thin. We were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves, which was a huge plus. If all rooms are rented separately, common areas would be shared, which would impact the experience. We'd only rebook if we had the whole house or were with friends.Minor issues included friendly stray dogs in the yard (causing flea concerns) and mosquitos, which we managed with repellent. A single instance of no hot water was quickly resolved by the responsive property manager, Stephanie, who was excellent. We also had pleasant interactions with an owner.Overall, it was a comfortable and safe stay. We’d happily return, but only if we could ensure private access to the entire house.

Stayed 3 nights

The home was beautiful, the views were incredible, but the mosquitos made me never want to stay there again. We were eaten alive by mosquitos…… IN the home. It was an absolutely horrible experience. We woke up in the middle of the night to swiping mosquitos away from our face left and right. Thinking we would eventually kill the few that had snuck in. Nope. They kept coming and we weren’t able to sleep at all that night. I was so concerned that I left a window open but nope - the roof is not connected to the top of the walls so anything can fly right in. My son has easily 150+ mosquito bites on him - it looks like he has chicken pox. We did not sleep from about 12:30-4:30 am. We slept through some of our plans the next morning so I asked for a late check out which they gave us. During the night we sealed off a door we thought they were getting in through and sat with the lights on so we could kill whatever mosquitos were still in the room. We finally got to a spot where we felt they weren’t bugging us anymore at fell back asleep at 4:30 am. We were fighting those mosquitos for 4 hours. We tried sleeping on the small couch thinking the window left open was in our room but they were out there as well so we went back into the bedroom. We tried sealing the sheet around us so only our mouth and nose was uncovered so we could breath but they would fly at our mouths and up our nose. Ugh - I wish I could leave a good review but that completely ruined it for us.

Stayed 5 nights
