Just one night here, I arrived early off the ferry at 10am and asked to store luggage, which was no problem and they were happy for me to use the pool and would do what they could to get me in my room asap. 10 mins later they said I could have the room! Very impressive. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff are super attentive. Pool area was sublime, spotlessly clean. They had thought of everything with water dispensers, suntan lotion etc st the pool areas. My bedroom was a delight and the bed sumptuous with super quality bedding. The view was lovely and everything was perfect. I know people say it’s expensive to eat, but Tahiti is expensive all over. At least here the surroundings are lovely and my meal (proissans cru) was delicious. It was not a cheap night but the place I’d been staying in when in Moorea was terrible so this really cheered me up on my last night and was worth the splurge. Well done Intercontinental.

The Hotel looked lovely until we saw main pool was out of action, and we didn't know before we booked it was closed for 3 months, we got an email closer to out stay to let us know but i had non refundable booking i would have stayed elsewhere had i known, pools are a huge part of staying on an island and paying so much.. there was a another pool with a swim up bar which was understaffed given everyone was at this smaller pool only 1 lady working her Butt off. Apart from that a nice Hotel for a quick night befote we flew out early morn. And very close to airport..

Great property with quality food options at the hotel. Note that there's no direct "sandy beach" access but the swimming pool and "seawater lagoon" are nice. The power went out a few times during our stay, but the main areas of the hotel had continuous power (generators I'm assuming). I would recommend staying here, but rent a car and explore the island during your stay.

Overall Experience: The leisure facilities here are excellent. I especially loved the sand-bottom pool and the spacious pool area with two pools and very comfortable sunbeds. Complimentary hot and cold water, towels, and even sunscreen are available by the pools, which is very convenient. The lagoonarium is a real highlight, with easy access for snorkeling (definitely bring bathing shoes due to stonefish). It’s lovely to watch the turtles swimming by. Some evenings feature Polynesian dance shows. I appreciated the inclusivity of performers of different sizes, shapes, and ages. The vegetarian dish I ordered was outstanding-easily the best and most thoughtfully composed vegetarian meal I had during an entire month in French Polynesia. There’s also a nice gift shop with reasonable prices. They offer a shuttle to central Papeete a few times a day at a lower cost than a taxi, which is a nice service. Room: This is a large resort, so you may need to walk a bit to get to your room. It’s worth requesting a room close to the area of the resort where you plan to spend most of your time. While there was nothing wrong with the room I got, it didn’t feel particularly special given the price. I had a room facing the side of one of the buildings, which likely impacted the experience. If I were to stay again, I would definitely pay extra for an ocean-facing room, as it seems much more worth it at this price point. Room: 3 stars, Amenities: 5 stars.

Our room smelled like mold and the staff had to take my wife to other rooms to find one that didn’t smell like mold. They finally took her to a renovated room that she could sleep. Time to change air filters and give the place a thorough cleaning in the ductwork!

The staff there are helpful and nice. However the hotel itself is out of date. The rooms are very old. The bathroom tile has holes in it and it was discolored so it was hard to tell if it was really clean. The spa had one shower and the shower head did not work. I told the staff and they did nothing. It’s literally just a two stall bathroom with a shower. No real changing area and they leave the door open and it’s right next to the men’s room. I very much did not like that. The food was also not very good. The staff and views are what make this place. I would not stay here again.

Hospitaly room for refreshing before room was available was dark. Shower tiles needed a good scrubbing and the floor needed to be swept. Very bad introduction to the hotel. Getting wifi to work was difficult. Food was expensive. The staff, though, was excellent: very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is old & tired, and it shows. It's being renovated, but right now it's not a good value for the money.

The bathroom sink, floor, toilet and wall next to toilet all had ants. I showed the assistant manager just so he could see for himself. Also the shower drain backed up. I was not given any refund on the room, only a free breakfast box.

The hotel needs renovations badly. Very dated and not in a good way. Don’t believe the pictures on Expedia showed our room facing the water but it looked right at the wall. Very disappointed . Asked when we checked in if the room faced the water and was told yes- liar. Have stayed several times before but things are not what they used to be. We will not be back.👎

Valentine's Day buffet and polynesian dance show: made a reservation 1 month in advance for the dance show and was given an obstructed view table behind a column. The wait staff took 15 minutes once seated to bring us water. I finally had to go to the bar to receive water. The staff tried to take away my plate while I was still eating. Terrible dinner experience! Do not recommend buffet dinners at Intercontinental Resort Tahiti.

This place is a dream come true ! The water bungalow was amazing! It’s pricey but it’s worth it! You can walk down you private patio and snorkel! The staff is super friendly and helpful!! I highly recommend this hotel and so close to the airport. It is less than 10 minutes away.

Standard room ok, but closet very small and no plug in bathroom for hair appliances. Food is good but pricey. Paid $48 for 2 daiquiris. Only 5 minutes from airport and hotel can arrange taxi for you. If you arrive early and room not ready, they can hold luggage and have a room you can use for 30 minutes to wash up and change clothes. Added a casual restaurant and updated grounds since our last visit 2 years ago. Beach sand area is very small, but plenty of room at pools and on grassy areas to lay out.

The Intercontinental was a nice stay. One pool was under construction, so that was a bit unexpected; however, the other pool was nice. The snorkeling was fun. The food was fabulous, and so too was the staff. We had a nice room, but the noise from the upper floor carried to our room at night and early morning. Overall, it was an above-average stay under slightly less than ideal circumstances due to pool construction.

I preferred the Hilton but truly I recommend getting out of Tahiti and heading to Moorea or Bora Bora. We arrived early morning, too early to get in our room, but the staff did everything to make us comfortable. We were given cards to use the pool or take a shower. The very helpful concierge, Day, helped us plan the next five days. We had rented a car and she gave us very helpful directions and maps with highlights. After a lovely lunch we did get into our ocean view room which unexpectedly had a lovely view of Moo’rea.

The resort was very nice, although a little run down. however I wasn’t happy that we were not able to control the thermostat, as we were able to at every other resort we stayed in Tahiti. The lowest temp we could set was 23 C, which is between 73 and 74 degrees. The best they could offer was a fan. Pool and restaurants were very nice and it’s 5 minutes from the airport. We were only there one night.

They don’t send a shuttle or offer a shuttle to airport- airport is full of people greeting incoming travelers with keys and Tahiti’ la oranas’ and you have to walk past it all with no greeting and figure out how to get a cab. I even called the hotel and ask and the told me to buzz off. And it’s the closest hotel to the airport- it would be nothing for them to get you. Not great. Opposite when you get to bora bora - that’s why everyone bails on Tahiti. Especially for what we paid. What? $400 a night? Derp

This property is a stunner! If you can stay in a bungalow, even for a night, do it! A few things to note: The service at the main restaurant takes a very long time, whether they are busy or not. So don't expect to show up to eat when you're under a time crunch to get back to the airport (like we did). Our food was burned but luckily the manager did take it off our bill, so we appreciated the customer service on that. Of the 4 meals we had there, each time something from our order was wrong, either between our food or the kids. So that was frustrating. Regarding the bungalow, there were bugs in it, which wasn't a surprise considering the location. However, I woke up covered in bug bites and informed the front desk. They basically shrugged it off and said that they'll "make a note on my account for a future stay". That was laughable as I do not find myself in Tahiti on the regular. There was really no other help offered than that. Other than these two things, it was a great stay. The Sea Turtle habitat was incredible. Breathtaking location!

My experience at this hotel was not that great. Every morning at 3:30-6:30 AM there were many roosters around the property that were so loud it was not possible to sleep. I booked this trip for a relaxing time, this hotel was not relaxing. The staff were generally hospitable but many of them were unpleasant and not happy to be there. The food was so-so and we ended up having to go find food outside of the resort. At the very end of my stay the Hotel Porter did not grab all of our luggage bags and put it in our taxi for the final ride to the airport. After a week, I finally received a response that my hang up bag was located and now I am be charged fees, tariffs, and a large freight bill to get my luggage shipped back to me. I would not recommend that anyone stay here. The stay was an unpleasant experience due to the roosters waking everyone up at early hours in the morning, the food not being good, the service was not good and final issue with my luggage.

Pretty large, very beautiful ambiance, multiple restaurants but pricey. Close to downtown and very close to the airport. Also, the hotel is within walking distance of a supermarket and restaurants. In addition, there is an artificial beach which is really nice.

The location is not very convenient if you want to leave the property, but we were content to stay. We stayed in the overwater bungalow, awesome! The only improvement needed is the food selection. All the dining options had the same food, so the choices were limited however we liked what we had all nights. Staff was very nice😊

The staff and service at the property were incredible. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately we were notified a week out that they would be ripping up one of their swimming pools to refurbish it. This pool was part of our "view" and also part of the experience we'd hope to have at the resort. In addition, the construction noise was horrible. They brought in a back hoe to chop up the concrete which was happening right in front of the only restaurant that was open! We were extremely unhappy as the construction notification came too late for us to change our plans, yet they had no trouble charging full price for an expensive room. One more comment, the hotel is not close to anything so a rental car is recommended.

Great attitudes but the service is lacking. They don’t have simple bottled water available for meals. You need to ask multiple times and still don’t get it. The food was average at best. Every medium rare steak order was well done. Really nothing great about the food. Go to Hilton. Much better. Spa was the highlight. One of the best massages ever. Pool renovation so that blight didn’t help.

Super convenient property near the airport in Tahiti. The have a few food options but a total hidden gem of a restaurant called Le Lotus. It was absolutely amazing food and I own restaurants. Staff was also incredible. Highly recommend this property when coming in and out of Tahiti to see the other islands.

Overall a great place to stay for our honeymoon. Overwater bungalow with Moorea view was stunning. Would have liked a bit more privacy on the bungalow deck. But overall a great time and the snorkeling off the deck was awesome. JetSki adventure was well worth the money. Food was only OK. Need more variety and the cost was outrageous for no reason at all… $3 for a slice of bread, $25 for a cocktail. Included breakfast is a must or the cost is absurd.

Main pool closed for repairs. That led to restaurants closing at times and the jackhammering did not set the mood. The other sand bottom pool was very nice though. For the cost of a nightly stay, the nickle and dimimg that went on was rediculous. A alacarte meal for 2 was over $150.00 us, coffee and a cookie for breakfast over $25us. Asking for water at the restaurants was like a bother to the inattentive wait staff. No minibar or room coffee, all needed to be purchased at a steep price. Stay at the Hilton was much better and the staff much better. I guess if you don’t mind any expenses and want to say you stayed at the intercontinental, by all means!
