The following summarizes our stay, but we have attached as a "photo" a more complete review detailing our concerns. The cottage has great potential—spacious layout, comfortable beds, lovely views, and a convenient location near Merrickville—but our stay was disappointing due to poor communication and several maintenance issues. Before posting this review, we reached out to the host with our concerns and requested a partial refund, noting we would share their response if they acknowledged the issues. Unfortunately, we received no reply, which reflects the communication challenges we experienced from the start.Check-in was delayed; we arrived two hours after the scheduled time, but the cottage was still being cleaned and the lawn mowed. Key amenities were either missing or non-functional: no working oven, fridge/freezer issues, patio doors without screens, and a back toilet that required manual adjustments after each flush. Basic supplies like toilet paper weren’t stocked, and the outdoor furniture lacked cushions, making it unusable until we improvised. While Dorothy and Syd did a great job with cleaning and property care, we expected a higher level of maintenance and service for the price paid. With better communication and attention to detail, this could be a wonderful rental, but as it stands, we cannot recommend it.

Poorly maintained. Had trouble u nlocking & opening front door upon arrival. Neighbour helped. Doors do not fit properly. Decking, sidings peeling & holes. Ants in kitchen. Cover on BBQ does not fit properly. Could not do any fishing due to weeds but told i could. Picture in listing disheaving. Pool table shown but no cues or balls. Chairs very uncomfortable. Linens old & smelled. Wife had to wash them all. The humidifier was on & started to leak so i had to fix by hand as no tools. No instructions on TV, etc. Merrickville & area is very nice so we visited/ site seeing. lot. We were glad to get home.

Very cold, no heat. Everything was beautiful but should not be listed for any type of cold weather. The space heaters provided were insufficient and the lack of heat detracted from the overall property experience.
