Ocean views from every room!!

We had an amazing 4 days in this lovely house in Muir Beach. The views are so stunning, we were tempted not to leave the house and deck at all ... but we were lured by the walk down garden-lined staircases to the beach, and by hiking in Muir Woods just minutes away. The owner left us very helpful information about the area, and the house was cozy and spotless. We can't wait to come back!

We had an excellent time staying at Muir Beach. Used the cottage as home base while visiting with our son in San Francisco. Easy drive to/from the city. Walked the beach nearly every day and even had a campfire on the beach one evening. The Pelican Inn has great food and we enjoyed hiking Mt. Tam. Yes, the outdoor shower is a must. Recommend!

We loved this home and will be back! The location of this home gave us quick access, on foot, to the beach and the gorgeous trails of the Marin Headlands. The deck gives breathtaking views of Muir Beach and beyond. From that same deck we saw baby deer, a fox and raccoons visited. The outdoor shower is a dream, with hummingbirds flying nearby. A question to the owner was responded to immediately and her property manager followed up right after. Thank you for a beautiful space for us to come and celebrate a birthday! We can’t wait to return!

Stunning! This was my wife's first trip to California and seeing the Pacific Ocean. Hence, this was the perfect place to make that lifetime impression. It was simply spectacular! The pictures online were helpful, but being there in real life was amazing! The views were fantastic, the wildlife was exciting to see and interact with, and the proximity to various things we wanted to see and do was wonderful. It was so cool to see the moon rise over Muir Beach as we sat in bed. And then to have the beautiful sun rises too! I genuinely feel I couldn't have picked a better place. It was so relaxing we were hesitant to leave and do other things. We could have simply sat on the deck chairs and watched the days go by. As someone who cleans homes for a living, I'm probably one of the worse people to have as a guest. Having said that, the property was spotless! Things were so well taken care of and clean. I was very impressed! An added benefit of our stay was being able to use the laundry. After five days of hiking in Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Parks, a washer and dryer were a welcome relief! If you do choose to stay here, do venture out and visit the Muir Beach Overlook that's up over the hill behind the property; spectacular views! Good place to watch the sun set too! Muir Woods is nearby, within 3 miles - take the back road to get there. And the Pelican Inn has good food and a wonderful old English pub vibe to it. Our visit was worth every penny spent!

From the outdoor shower to the indoor stargazing, this home is truly special. Very clean, cozy and comfortable. Wonderful hosts.

This home is exactly as advertised. The view is gorgeous, the house was super clean, and the area is terrific for hiking and enjoying the great outdoors. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are lots of thoughtful touches throughout that make you feel right at home. Bev could not have been a more accommodating host. We hope to return to this beautiful spot.

We stayed in this amazing home for 3 nights - it was bliss. The views are stunning, the kitchen is second to none we have ever stayed in and the location couldn’t be better. We would love to come back!

This place was the most beautiful place we have stayed yet. The view was spectacular, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and the beds were very comfortable! The host/hosts were very attentive to our needs and questions. We would highly recommend this place and hope to come back again in the future!!

We were wowed by the location of the property. Sitting above the coastline with a south facing view. Walking in you are greeted with the breathtaking views. Wrap around deck was nice to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine. The home is beautiful and the kitchen is well appointed with all the appliances you need. The bedrooms have great beds and the bedding is luxurious. Taking a shower with the view of the coastline or take a hot shower outside with nature. The host and manger were welcoming and provided detailed instructions on directions to the home. This was a great find. Don’t hesitate to book. You will be happy. Also lots of hiking.

Our stay at Beverly’s house was simply magical. Photos do not fully capture the magnificent views from the house. We spent 3 nights at Bev’s house and wished for more. Muir Woods was so easy to access from the house - barely 10 minutes away. We spent a wonderful day there including an epic hike in Mt. Tamalpais State Park. The next day we went on another fantastic hike - this time along the Muir Beach Coastal Trail, which was breathtaking. Everything about Bev’s home was perfect for us - super comfortable, convenient, bright and tasteful. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking - the kitchen is great - and after hiking all we wanted to do was drink wine on the balcony. I really hope we can come back someday.

We stayed here a week.I was wishing we had stayed two. The views were incredible and it has a nice kitchen to work in.They could update the dishes, but not really a huge deal. Because the drive up Hwy 1 is on windy and steep roads you may not want to go into town much. The bedrooms are down many steps,so you must be able bodied. Numerous hiking opportunities close by.

The view is absolutely worth ten-plus stars and is even better than the pictures! You can hear the ocean from the deck and feel your stress slip away when you arrive! Communication with Beverly was easy and we had all the information we needed on arrival and were delighted to find a bottle of wine as well. The home is very comfortable and the property was spotless. It worked nicely for a couple of days with my college roommate. Other reviews have mentioned the concerns about the winding roads(easily driveable in my opinion but worth noting if you're not from the area and this makes you uncomfortable) and the lack of blinds in the windows on the property. It was a minor annoyance when the sun got quite warm in the afternoons (though we opened the doors to the deck and were fine shortly), and is a strange feeling in the bedrooms and bathroom. I don't think anyone can see you, but would prefer to pull down blinds or a curtain anyway. But in my opinion, the view and the overall peace of the property more than compensated for that minor inconvenience. We appreciate Beverly sharing this beautiful spot and we would definitely return.

Beautiful, awe-inspiring views. Cute house. Though it took awhile to drive there, it was well worth it.

Stayed 3 nights at this property and it’s exactly as the photos offer. The picture windows throughout the house offer fantastic views of the ocean and beach. On clear days you can even get a glimpse of San Francisco. Excellent experience!

This home is absolutely beautiful and the view is breathtaking. The only thing we did not like was that there are no curtains/blinds anywhere. Not in the bedroom, living room, bathroom…nowhere! We felt like we had no privacy. During the day, it’s no big deal but at night it was (in my opinion) very creepy. It made us very uncomfortable knowing that anyone could possibly be looking in at you while you sleep, when you step out the shower…etc. We rented the house for two nights but after the first night we checked out early because we were so uncomfortable with the no curtains/blinds situation. If this is ok with you, you will absolutely love this home.

Must confess, I realized more that driving up and down mountains makes me nervous, but that’s a me thing.The house and its amenities were excellent, the property manager, Scout, very helpful. It’s a 20-30 min drive down for food, gas or stores, so something to consider. But that’s the sacrifice for such an amazing view. The walk down to the beach is a good stair workout.

Stayed a couple nights in November to visit my daughter. The house was adorable and the location is stunning. The host is very responsive and has put a lot of details into her house.

Only negative I can say comes with a huge positive. Long windy road to get to the house - which also makes its remote location perfect. So if you are up for a beautiful drive and a beautiful reward at the end of it this is a great place to spend time! Didn’t want to go home or leave this place. Skipped driving to wine country for the day to sit and listen to college football on The tv and soak in the sounds and view!
