Swarthmore is a cute little town to enjoy in between the trips to Kennett Square and Philadelphia. Really liked having parking right outside our front door. The place was clean and perfect for two people. We did have issues with checking in. We arrived a few minutes before 4:00, but couldn't check in until after 5:00 due to the cleaners being there still. We also never got the wifi working for our 3night stay, thank goodness we were able to get our work done at a local shop. Other than those two things, the place was great to sleep and shower in between sightseeing.

Comfortable enough for two. Major issues with parking gate, but mgr was helpful. Closet doors need repair / replacing. Bedroom (esp. baseboard heating unit) and bathroom floor need a deep clean now.

It was a nice little town with a very comfy stay. Host was very helpful. Having your own parking spot was also great! On a side note the owner of the Ship Bottom Brewery, Robert Zarko tends to hold food trucks in that same parking lot because he has a little area where his costumers can drink in front of the parking lot. Robert Zarko backed into my car the last day of my stay. Not the hosts fault. Just be weary since it is a tight parking lot. Aside from that a perfect stay!

I know the area and this spot was perfect for our needs. I also like the free parking right outside the unit. Walking distance to Swathmore and other local spots.

Our stay was wonderful & I would definitely use WorkStudy Suites again! Russ was helpful and responded timely. Everything is conveniently located in a cute town across from the college. The unit was extremely clean and easy checkin process. Dedicated parking spot right out front is a bonus. Highly recommended!

My husband and I recently stayed for 18 days. We live in NC and were looking for a daily place to unwind and sleep after visiting with PA friends and family. The cottage suited our needs perfectly. It was tidy and comfortable. After an initial problem with the air conditioner, it was a comfortable stay. Russ was very apologetic and sent maintenance very quickly. It turned out that someone forgot to turn it on earlier in the day. It was a very hot day and it took some time to cool the place down. It worked perfectly well from that day forward. I only mention it because Russ went above and beyond to satisfy us. I took off one point only because the furnishings (particularly the sofa and oversized chair) were comfortable but tired looking and took up most of the living space. Perhaps a recliner would be less space invasive? We loved the location and enjoyed the convenience of the Co-Op, coffee shops and restaurants. We also appreciated that our little dog 🐶 was able to stay with us. Having our own parking space in front of the unit was a plus too. We will definitely stay again for short visits while in the area.

Cute and well stocked apartment, close to everything, including train into Philly. Private parking is a plus, friendly and helpful host. Mixup with parking fob was only issue, definitely recommend

Excellent location!!! Especially if visiting Swarthmore for the weekend. Right between Hobbs (great local coffee hang out) and the Coop (great place to grab snacks or lunch - with leftovers in your fridge!). Unit is clean and functional. Russell was great - smoke alarm was beeping when we arrived and he stopped by with a variety of batteries and took care of it quickly - so thankful!

Some things weren't quite working right and it's wasn't spotless (clogging pipes and moldy old coffee grinds in the coffeemaker) but it was comfortable and the area was a sight to see. I just wish the host was more willing to communicate with me. Overall, I recommend the stay. I

Upon arrival there was a loud pickup truck in the very small parking lot, with a running engine and generator for a food trailer supplying the local brewery. Upon entrance to the property it became clear that it was far smaller than depicted by photos, hence “cozy” description. There was mouse feces on the threadbare linens on the bed which was covered by a shaggy coverlet. The bathroom was so small you could barely stand in it. There were absolutely disgusting old condiments in the refrigerator and ancient honey in the cabinets from which a roach scuttled out! The couch had crumbs under the cushions. Dirt under the baseboard heaters, dirt on the walls…Not knowing I had to take pictures to document what I saw, I vacated the premises with my kids and tried to call Russ, who did not answer the phone. Emailed via vrbo, and after some delay was told the food truck would be gone by 8, which was untrue as we were sitting in my vehicle at 820 and food truck still there. Then owner claimed it would be gone at 9pm. Then he told me his cleaner said the place was clean. After extensive emailing he thought that he could send his maintenance guy to check what I found at 10 pm! We did not stay here either night as it was utterly disgusting. I had to find and pay for a hotel for the weekend, and was put on hold by vrbo for 75 minutes in order to attempt to get a refund, which was denied.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay. The unit was spotless and it was located in a great area. It was the perfect place for us to get away for a few days and relax.

Our stay in Swarthmore was nothing short of magical! The house was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. Russell was a fantastic host—quick to respond and super helpful. The town itself is absolutely charming, with adorable shops and tasty restaurants just a short stroll away. We had such a great time, we’re already dreaming about our next visit!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent and perfect for the train to Philadelphia. It was comfortable and quiet accommodation. I would say however that it could do with a bit of a makeover as the decor and furnishings were rather tired.

The photos do not tell you that the only window in the unit looks out on a parking lot adjacent to a bar. The parking lot also serves as a playground for children with balls that bump your unit and your car. Noise from the bar on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, no a/c in main room, so could not even use pull out couch because the room was so hot and stuffy. The whole unit needs upgrading and is not much more than an old cheap motel. Bathroom door has been mangled by an angry dog- scratch marks all over. When I contacted the host about these issues, I was promised compensation for my troubles (after 30 minutes on the phone), but was then ghosted by Russ and have not heard back. The location is perfect for those visiting Swarthmore, the room was clean, but not worth the money spent.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage while passing through on our trip home. Russell was very quick to respond in our messages back and forth. Their small town is so nice to get a quick dinner which is in walking distance. I felt the bed was not very comfortable it was too soft for my liking but my husband was happy with it. We enjoyed our resting time here and I would be happy to return again.

Nice property that stayed cool during the heatwave. The smoke alarm goes off when the kitchen is used, but otherwise quite convenient.

Arrived 1030pm but left next morning. RENTER BEWARE! Upon entering, a dozen large flies encircled us. Spent half hour killing them. The photo shopped pics are deceiving. Place is rundown/dingy. Carpet in bedroom was so disgusting family refused to walk on it barefoot (we have pics). A/C in bedroom is window unit and is noisy as heck. It had hard time cooling down apartment. Living area only had a standing fan. Upon opening pullout couch, dirt & crumbs dropped out. The owner sent pics of what he told us were taken by his cleaners to prove unit was clean. They were clearly professional photos not taken after the crew prepped the space as many items in the pics were not even in unit. Contacted owner next morning to tell him we vacated the unit. He told us if we had contacted him within 4 hours of arrival we could have had refund. “You cannot stay for free then request refund”, he said. “Would have had you depart that night if you were unhappy with listing.". (So, we are to call guy at midnight & try to find another place to stay at that hour)? We offered to pay for night stayed there but requested refund for remaining nights; he refused. To add insult to injury, he told us there were no flies in the unit (so we are lying?) and TV worked despite us following his jerry rigged instructions. We did a little research and noticed owner has at least 5 rental units in area. The reviews were underwhelming. Many folks had issues dealing with this money-grubbing guy.

The cottage itself is small (but as described!), but very comfortable for 1 or 2 people. The bed is very comfortable, shower great, wifi good and really all you need. I would (will) stay again!

I can't rate any of the parking, lodging, area around the property as we were never able to access the property. We should have been able to check in at 4pm. We never got our check in information. So at 5pm, I started messaging the owner. No response to messaging through Expedia or VRBO. A call was answered by the owner who said they had email issues and would both text and email us the information for access the apartment and parking -- this call was at 6 pm after no answer to our messages. We did not get any information. Texted the phone number and after 30 min of no response called. No answer. I got a text at 0419 in the morning asking if I got his message. He knows we could not access the property as he said he lived next door. When I reported this to expedia asking for a refund for this weekend and my upcoming stay that it would not let me cancel -- I was told they would look into it. I am disappointed to say the least. We then had to book last minute lodging that was more than double the cost of our stay. I am not sure who I have less faith in now -- the owner or expedia. Best of luck to anyone considering this property.

I can give nothing but positive feedback on this property. Not only was it essentially a home away from home, during my stay in Pennsylvania, it too met all my needs an accommodations. The host Russell couldn't have been more friendlier an helpful, from when I booked my the location back in August of 2023, all the way to up to my entire time, of being in the area this past week. He not only responded in a timely manner from beginning to end, he too was understanding to my late arrival on the initial day of check-in, an was kind enough to make sure there was proper lighting at the property, so that I was not walking into a dark setting. This location did the job of giving me a safe an secure stay for both my dog an I, in what is a beautiful neighborhood, near the town's various means of transportation i.e. train, bus, etc. . You get your own assigned parking spot on site, an are within a quiet community, that is very welcoming. I very much recommended this property to anyone looking to visit Pennsylvania, especially the bigger cities of Philadelphia. It allows you to be within close proximity of towns such as the latter, whilst avoiding having to be directly within in it all.

The only reason I have 4 stars to communication with the property manager is because the vrbo website had major issues on my check in day and I could not connect to get checkin information - but he made every effort to reach me - not knowing that I could not respond because of the system issues!

Stayed at this rental while in town for a live review course over 4 nights and really enjoyed myself. The rental is cozy and located in a safe neighborhood. Lots of cute shops and food options in walking distance. The host was quick to respond if I had any questions too. Furniture (including the bed) was very comfy. Mood lighting in each room was really cool as well. Only 15 minutes from the airport area which was helpful. I would stay here again.

Cottage with living room and a small kitchen with bedroom and bathroom. The train station is close and there is a village close by too. Good for two people staying over for a quick stop !

Accommodations fit our needs well and the location near (a few steps away) from the Septa stop make it convenient to the entire area. Hard to beat for a quick stay.
