Garden Street Retreat at Lake Pepin

Loved this house! Booked this property for our annual girls trip, Lake City was a great choice for us. We decided less cooking and more eating out this trip, and Lake City had several options. The house was very clean and had almost every amenity, we left a cheese grater for the next cheese lovin crew, but if you want a Pina colada, bring your own blender. Literally everything else to cook with was top notch (I brought my own knife from home, just in case, and I didn't take it out once). Amenities such as towels, sheets, and pillows were all soft and fresh. Things not pictured are a wine fridge and a coffee/tea bar (for my caffeine fiends out there, there is a cone drip and a Keurig machine w/ pods and grounds (and also tea options)). For the true out of towners, stop at Hanisch bakery for the essentials- donuts, Torke coffee, and seventh St. Pizzas. Back to the house, 2 large indoor tables for crafting (1 by the TV and one on the heated 4 season porch). In the fireplace living room, do yourself a favor, grab the light from the TV room for some softer lighting (did not like it at first, but the softer lighting makes it a much better hang out room). Backyard area was very nice and peaceful and being able to walk to river after dinner was delightful! One of my favorite things about getting VRBO are trying out new things I have been thinking about purchasing, so *spoiler alert* if you like to be surprised......this house has moon pods and Love sac couches (2 different cushions and depths). Lastly, VRBO houses are made and broken by the person in which you are in contact (IYKYK), Brett was a really good one.

Great property. Very clean, up to date decor, great use of space. Good space for 8 people, very comfortable. Outdoor space very nice. Loved the gas fire pit area. Multiple sitting areas. All great. Liked the multiple coffee pot options, single and multiple cup option.

The place was great set up with everything we needed. We really enjoyed hanging out by the fire. We did run out of fuel, and were thrilled that a back up was in the garage ready to use. Our only complaint was that the 2 basement bedrooms have no doors, are really one large rec room. As we were there with multi family group we were counting on having a little more privacy.

Great house for just hanging out with your friend's. Beautifully decorated and updated with great appliances and entertainment system. Has everything you need to thoroughly enjoy your stay. Owner is very responsive and great to deal with. Would highly recommend to anyone who is going to stay in the Lake City area. Lots of great restaurants and things to do there as well.

Plenty of room for a group of women-very clean and well furnished with toiletries and basic supplies. Beautiful back yard patio to relax on and host was attentive and responded quickly. Everything was perfect, would love to come back again!

House provided ample space for 12 ladies to spend a weekend together catching up. Plenty of beds for everyone. With the crazy weather, we ended up using BOTH the air conditioner and the furnace over the weekend. Both systems worked well and kept us comfortable upstairs. The temperature in the basement sleeping area was chilly but it was just what several of the ladies needed to get a comfortable night's sleep. The whole house was very organized and well-appointed, especially the kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio under the pergola. We also enjoyed walks along the shore and making our way to downtown to enjoy the restaurants and shops. There was ample parking for 8 cars, with room to spare. All 11 of my guests were very pleased with the house -- it was the best we've ever stayed in. A+

This house is amazing! After over 10 years of renting VRBO homes for our annual Sibling Weekend, this house was #1. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. We are a group of 6 so we had plenty of room at the table which was a problem with past rentals. We enjoyed the sunroom and outside space. Brett was very prompt when questions were asked and checked in with us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed. He has thought of so many details to make our stay enjoyable. There was even an EV charger for our vehicle!!!One suggestion to make the house even more handicapped accessible would be to add railings to at least one entry point to the house. We had a great stay.

Fantastic home on the edge of Lake city. Extremely well stocked with everything you need. Outside spaces are comfortable and spacious for a group. Tons of space inside, comfortable beds and multiple places to relax.

Highly recommend! It exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully remodeled with attention to the details that ensure a comfortable environment for a wonderful vacation experience. Nice open floor plan with tastefully decorated common spaces, an very well stocked kitchen designed for cooking and entertaining! Really nice outdoor entertaining space as well. It was a short walk to the marina for a sail on beautiful lake Pepin and watch the sun go down.

Felt like we were at a resort. The house was completely stocked and beautifully furnished. The beds were very comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if needed. There was a formal and informal dining area for 8 or more. We used both. The outdoor patio and landscaping was so beautiful! We admired all the plants, groomed yard and how clean everything was. It is a must stay!!!!! Thank you from all 8 of us!!

We loved this place! The house was great! Clean , neat and all the amenities you want. Lots of rooms to gather and relax, including outdoor spaces. Lake City is a beautiful area on lake Pepin. The host was very gracious and answered me right away when I had a question. We definitely plan to return, as it was one of the nicest places we’ve stayed at!

This was a wonderful home for our family to get together. The open floor plan nicely accommodated our group of six adults and four children- we had plenty of space to gather together as well as enough bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. The kitchen was great and the house was immaculately clean. We will definitely plan to come back for another visit!

We had a great time at the Garden St. Retreat! It was the perfect location to explore Red Wing, Wabasha and the Wisco side of the river. The house is darling, very clean, modern and so well appointed. It's so welcoming and there is plenty of space! We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend!

I highly recommend this home for your stay in Lake City! The house was perfect for our siblings weekend to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The beds were cozy and comfortable. The house is nicely appointed and very clean. The host was very easy to work with. I look forward to our next visit to this beautiful city on the water.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. Great house for us. Plenty of room and the different gathering places are really nice to have. We definitely will stay again!

Nothing in this home has not been well thought out and finished to perfection. Cannot say enough about this property. You will not be disappointed. 2 huge outdoor spaces to enjoy and plenty of room to sprawl out and enjoy one another indoors as well. Walking distance to so many restaurants, bars, boutiques, art shops, cafes etc. We absolutely loved it.

We were on our annual cousin trip & LOVED our stay in Lake City. The house was perfect. Very roomy & comfortable. There was absolutely nothing negative we could say about it. They thought of absolutely everything! We would highly recommend this house and would love to stay in another VRBO that Brett hosted!

10 years old to 89 years old and we all fit with room to spare. VERY comfortable and larger than the pics indicate. Best beds I’ve ever had at a VRBO. Strong and quiet HVAC. I own 2 VRBO and this was better than I can do myself! I actually learned some tricks to make our places more comfortable.

My family and I immensely enjoyed our stay at Brett's place this past weekend! The location is fabulous and just steps away from the water and boat launch on Lake Pepin. It has LOTS of room and a great backyard... and is VERY clean! Brett was on the ball with communication and was an easy text message away. We'll definitely come again to this charming, mid-century modern home next time we are in the area!

This is one of our favorite properties! We go on a friend vacation every year with 7 adults and 5 kiddos and this house is perfect. It has plenty of space to spread out if needed or kids are napping. There is tons of table space for meals and games. We love the big fenced in yard. Brett is such a wonderful host! Attentive and really cares that the property has everything you need! The house is so well stocked- we have been here twice and will rebook for next year again as well! Thanks for a lovely weekend!!!

We very much enjoyed our stay! Brett was extremely helpful, and the check-in/check-out process was seamless. The house itself had modern finishes and was large enough to accommodate our family comfortably. The quality of the beds, bedding, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. was top-notch. This house is a gem to stay in. It has a great layout with plenty of room to spread out in and sleep. There are great gathering places outside, also. The house is just about anything you need. Brett does a great job communicating and making sure all is well. The walk to the lake is a nice morning walk and close to the house.

There were 14 of us friends and family who all got to celebrate our friends who are getting married. This space and house was AMAZING and perfect for all of us. We loved sitting out back on the patio in the evenings and all of us girls having a special brunch out in the sunroom. Brett is outstanding to work with! He is so accommodating and checked in with me periodically to make sure we were having a great stay. The location is so close to the public boat launch and we enjoyed many days out on the lake. Highly recommend this property.
