We can't recommend this enough! View was amazing! Perfect for two people! Everything was as described. We felt like we were the only two people on earth with all of the peace and quiet. Didn't leave the entire stay! Only recommendation would be to add steps to the hot tub. Big girl here had herself a time getting in and out of it. lol. Can't wait to come back! Thank you and God Bless!

The Hideaway was extremely cozy and comfortable. We loved the fireplace that was operable by just pressing a button, two smart TVs so we could relax watching a movie or catch up on our shows, and the hot tub with beautiful views was icing on the cake.

We wanted to take a short trip with our kids and dog to the mountains while it was still cold. We were so excited about getting to roast hotdogs and make s’mores by the fire so we loaded up the supplies and lots of firewood…ugh, there was NO outdoor fire pit! The only fireplace was a gas fireplace inside, which we couldn’t turn on much because it made the upstairs loft unbearably hot! The only bathtub is in the kitchen/living room corner, which is sooo not private. There is a wooden partition beside it, which fell on my husband’s head and gave him a concussion the first night. We will go back to Mentone, but we will NOT be staying at the Hideaway again.

We had a great time and enjoyed the cabin and wonderful view. The cabin was very convenient to the little town of Mentone ( just down the road). The hot tub and back porch were an added delight! We would definitely stay here again!

The Hideaway at Mentone was the perfect location for our honeymoon. We loved all the features and amenities of the cabin. The bed is firm and incredibly comfortable. The gas fireplace gives off substantial heat, rendering a cozy vibe befitting of such a wonderful cabin. My husband absolutely fell in love with the whirlpool tub in the living room. Of course, the show stopper is taking in the sunset from the hot tub on the balcony. The surrounding countryside is beyond spectacular. There are nature trails and waterfalls close by at DeSoto Park and Little River Canyon Preserve. If you've had your fill of hiking, Sand Mountain is only ~30-45 minutes south of Mentone and an ideal place for a slow, tranquil drive through the farmlands of Northeast Alabama. We highly recommend Delightful Retreats and Mentone, AL for any reason you're vacationing. We will be back.

The quiet is another bonus. The cabin was clean and inviting. Just remember to bring everything you think you might need, because it is a ways back to town. We tripped down to DeSoto State Park and Desoto Falls one day, then to Cloudland Canyon the next. The cabin is conveniently located to both. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I plus our labradoodle had a lovely stay at The Escape at Mentone. Sunsets were spectacular from the private deck and the hot tub was a bonus. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Enjoyed visiting Mentone, Desoto Falls, Desoto State Park and playing golf at McLemore(just a 20 min drive). Perfect space for a long weekend for two.

My husband and I were looking to getaway for a relaxing weekend and “The Hideaway” did not disappoint. This is our second time time to Mentone and it is soon becoming one of our new favorite places to visit. The views off the deck are gorgeous. The house is very cute and the amenities are good. The only thing that was a downside for me was the bed was too stiff for my taste but my husband was fine with it. The hot tub was a plus.

I liked it so well that I am going back again this year. The cabin is perfect for a small group of 4 or 5. The kitchen is a very simple mix of modern appliances and rustic build. But the balcony and that view! Mesmerizing. Living room is more than adequate and the fireplace is cozy and warm! Internet was alright for what we needed. Of course you have a w/d and a nice bath. 👍 I can't wait to get there!

Good place to stay for a couple looking to get away. You will enjoy the view with peace and quiet. Sunsets are gorgeous along with watching rain and fog roll through the valley from the hot tub or just chilling on the porch. Communication was great as well. No issues at all.

The cabin was cute and quiet! Even though there were people staying at the cabin next door, it felt like no one was around. The views are breathtaking. The town of Mentone is quite adorable and everyone was so incredibly nice! We got a little lost on the way there ( we weren’t able to get into town until around 8pm) and I had to call Holly for help. She picked up the phone and walked us through how to get there! The instructions sent beforehand were helpful and she was very responsive before, during, and after the reservation. Would definitely stay at another Delightful Retreat cabin again.

Very remote but not so far away from civilization (lol). Peace and quiet 24 hrs a day. Whether sitting on the back porch in the morning, daytime, or evening the view is one of a kind. Very safe for our Yorkie. The cabin was just the right size with all the amenities you could possibly need. Do pay attention to notes given on tips of things to bring (food items) unless you plan on taking a little ride. Hostess was so quick to respond it was unbelievable and refreshing.

This cabin was perfect for our needs. It has a well-stocked kitchen from a pot, pans and plates perspective, and a wonderful view from the deck and hot tub. We loved the sunsets! It's only about 10 minutes from great restaurants in town.

My husband and I plus our labradoodle had a lovely stay at The Escape at Mentone. Sunsets were spectacular from the private deck and the hot tub was a bonus. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Enjoyed visiting Mentone, Desoto Falls, Desoto State Park and playing golf at McLemore(just a 20 min drive). Perfect space for a long weekend for two.

We had a great time and enjoyed the cabin and wonderful view. The cabin was very convenient to the little town of Mentone ( just down the road). The hot tub and back porch were an added delight! We would definitely stay here again!

The Escape at Mentone is truly named! The cabin had an amazing view off of the ridge and felt like it was worlds away. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!!

Very remote but not so far away from civilization (lol). Peace and quiet 24 hrs a day. Whether sitting on the back porch in the morning, daytime, or evening the view is one of a kind. Very safe for our Yorkie. The cabin was just the right size with all the amenities you could possibly need. Do pay attention to notes given on tips of things to bring (food items) unless you plan on taking a little ride. Hostess was so quick to respond it was unbelievable and refreshing.

The property is everything you can ask for when it comes to a romantic get away. Depending on your travel it’s just a skip and a hop and from the location of the cabin you can cross the state line in less than an hour and enjoy time with your family. I would recommend this place to anyone.
