The hotel is not very well marked when driving by on the street. The parking is extremely difficult to find and navigate. The parking garage closest to the hotel has nothing to do with the hotel, the hotel parking is on the 3rd and 4th underground floor below the public parking for the LIDL grocery store. None of this is disclosed when securing the reservation. There isn’t anywhere to park when you’re trying to check in and the staff was not very helpful. Upon check in they said they “upgraded “ us to a room with a castle view but what they gave us was a room on the first floor with a view of the street. Their breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is a little farther away from the old town that tourists generally want to see.

This was a nice, modern hotel very close to old town. It was a block from the river and old town. There was an underground garage. The room was comfortable. The bed mattress was firm. The breakfast was good. This is a great option for a hotel with parking convenient to old town.

Hotel liegt sehr zentral und ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Ljubljana. Es verfügt über ein Parkhaus und wer sich selbst versorgen möchte findet im Untergeschoss einen Lidl. Das Hotel selber ist recht spartanisch eingerichtet, verfügt aber über alles was man für eine Städtereise so braucht.

What a gem! We were upgraded to a very nice room but this hotel was a wonderful place to stay for our visit. I wish the gym had a few more pieces of updated cardio equipment but I’m happy they offered a decent gym.

In so years of travel I have never been in a hotel without facial tissue, so this was a first. And the hospitality staff left the windows open so the HVAC did not work and the windows were VERY hard to close. Otherwise the hotel was clean and Okay. Parking was not provided or available despite what the web and Expedia said.

Great location just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the old town. The Occidental is very nice and clean. The rooms are compact but very cleverly laid out. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of options, and the hotel restaurant’s food was tasty and well-priced.

Need to put AC instructions in the rooms as we went 2 days with out AC. Rang the front desk gave instructions over the phone but still didn’t work. Window needed to be shut we didn’t realise cleaners open them and we didn’t know had to be shut. A technician was called AC filter was clogged up with dust and window wasn’t shutting properly. Our sheets were left dirty the second day and dirty towel left. Other then that lovely

The hotel is new so the room is good but I stayed for 12 nights and they didn’t change the bedsheet once so the cleanness was very good. The reception team don’t communicate between each other so the communication when you need something was very hard. To be a 4start hotel they need to have a better service.

The location of the hotel is very good and walkable to the castle and attractions. The room wasn’t great tho, very small and I’m glad I was only here for a night. Even the window to the room faced internal with no proper light, not great!

Nieuw hotel in het centrum van ljubljana. Kamer is van alle gemakken voorzien. Enige minpunt is dat de wcdeur schuift en het licht met een sensor werkt die nogal fel is en pas uit gaat als de deur weer dicht is (‘s nachts niet ideaal). Ontbijt hier niet genuttigd, ivm vroeg vertrek luchthaven.

The rooms have a strange layout, with doors to toilet and shower but with open sink area. This means that the (movement instigated) toilet light shines into the sleeping area if the toilet is used during darkness which can be disruptive to sleep. The breakfast area is in the foyer area, this means it becomes very loud, especially as the hotel seems popular with groups. When busy the breakfast staff become overwhelmed with dirty crockery piling up on tables and running out of cups, spoons etc, although the food was also replenished. Overall I would be happy to stay for night, but the irritations would put me off staying here again.

Nice property. Great stay — Except for the pillows which are cheap formless garbage. I used the rooms towels to not end up with a neck ache. It’s a shame cause the hotel is great otherwise. But a holiday hotel shouldn’t involve a choice between sleeping on towels or a chiropractor

Et skønt hotel og venligt personale. Det eneste minus er toilet og badeforhold på værelserne. Det kræver at du kender hinanden enormt godt, da det er så åbent og lydt og intet privatliv når man bruger det. Det er flot, men super ærgerligt.

The rooms and hotel are clean and modern and the location was good for walking. Our room was quiet, but too small with inadequate space for toiletries or clothes for a 4 day stay. The breakfast was not worth the cost ($18/person) and twice they did not refill items during the time we were eating, so there were missing key items (e.g. eggs). The abruptness of the person who checked us in made me want to turn and leave, but the people at the bar were helpful and kind.

The hotel itself is visually very appealing. The room was beautiful, well-designed, and comfortable, and the overall property gives the impression of a modern, high-quality hotel in a great location. Unfortunately, the experience with the front office staff was shockingly poor and completely undermined the stay. During check-in, a family ahead of us was being assisted by a receptionist who handled their passports in an openly disrespectful manner - once he finished entering the details, he would literally throw the passports back across the desk to the guests. This level of unprofessionalism is something I have never witnessed in a hotel environment before. At the same time, another receptionist was standing behind the desk counting cash while six guests were waiting in line. When asked for assistance, she stated that she would not help anyone because “her shift only starts in 15 minutes and she is not being paid yet.” This was said openly, in front of waiting guests, without any attempt to find a solution or ask a colleague to step in. For a hotel that presents itself as a premium brand, this type of front-office behavior is simply unacceptable. Hospitality starts at the reception desk, and in this case, the lack of basic courtesy, professionalism, and guest awareness was genuinely disturbing.

Arrived late after midnight. Even though I told them in advance I was called a 'no show". The day after our room keys were switched off. When I went to get help at the reception I wasn't met with any understanding. Rude staff. I have never felt this unwelcomed at a hotel of this price category. Shame.

You can tell some updates were made to the property and while staff were courteous for the most part there need to be some staffing adjustments made to ensure a better stay. For example, we asked for a 7am wake up call because our tour left at 8am. The wakeup call NEVER happened. When I brought it to the front desk person I asked to schedule said call he said he changed shifts and left a note for the colleague. There was no apology. Nor, did a manager reach out. Example #2, the main restaurant with the only bar in the hotel is NEVER fully staff. There is one individual who does the bar, takes orders, buses the tables, serves and customer service. As a result, wait times are extremely long. If you find an empty table it may not be cleaned and it may not get cleaned for at least 1/2hr. The first few days of us being there rained heavily. So, there were times we had to depend on them for meals. Room service is almost non-existent. They leave early. So don't depend on that either. The selling point for the Occidental is it's location. You can tell some updates were made to the property and while staff were courteous for the most part there need to be some staffing adjustments made to ensure a better stay. For example, we asked for a 7am wake up call because our tour left at 8am. The wakeup call NEVER happened. When I brought it to the front desk person I asked to schedule said call he said he changed shifts and left a note for the colleague. There was no apology. Nor, did a manager reach out. Example #2, the main restaurant with the only bar in the hotel is NEVER fully staff. There is one individual who does the bar, takes orders, buses the tables, serves and customer service. As a result, wait times are extremely long. If you find an empty table it may not be cleaned and it may not get cleaned for at least 1/2hr. The first few days of us being there rained heavily. So, there were times we had to depend on them for meals. Room service is almost non-existent. They leave early. So don't depend on that either. The selling point for the Occidental is it's location. They have prime real-estate in Ljubljana. They are perfectly situated walking distance to and from the river, countless restaurants, shopping ... The hotel is situated in the Ljubljana city centre, very close to Kongresni trg and all the local attractions. My room had a king size bed and was very clean. Members of staff were very helpful. Great breakfast and really good evening meal. Great choice of local wines and beers.

Wonderful location & a new building. Breakfast buffet was well worth the extra charge. They have an outside patio to enjoy your breakfast or tapas. The tapas lounge offered just the right amount of good quality food. All staff— front desk & housekeeping were very friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend & would come back to stay Should we be this way again. Thank you for everyone

Great location just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the old town. The Occidental is very nice and clean. The rooms are compact but very cleverly laid out. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of options, and the hotel restaurant’s food was tasty and well-priced.

A great location right in the city. Lovely bar area. Nice room. Reception didn’t feel very welcoming, apart from that it was a good stay. Important to note that the Expedia maps pin is in the wrong location so we spent a time looking for the hotel in the wrong place - Occidental please update this. Not a nice experience when arriving in a new city.

Excellent location, 3min walk from the river with lots of places to eat and drink. The map on here is wrong - it’s only 1.5 blocks from the river. Very clean, nice staff. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was super quiet. We had a castle view with balcony. Couldn’t fault the room at all. Service was good. Breakfast was decent although sometimes the hot food was barely warm. Would happily stay again. Let them organise a transfer to/from the airport (50€) or book a shuttle - absolutely do not get a taxi outside the airport terminal, there is a huge problem with fake taxis in the city. We followed all the advice, took one that was marked from the correct place and which had a meter… and it still cost 72€ as the meter was dodgy and they applied a 12€ “dodanek” extra. Just let the hotel sort out the transfer or pay for one separately, do not get a taxi from the rank

Overall the hotel is a good Otel that I would recommend. Few points could be improved: - We went there partly for work and there was only one chair; a minimum of two would be better. - We were there for a week & I felt there was not enough place to organize our clothes (2 people). The hangers were out in the open & the two cabinets were too high to be used in a convenient way. - While there there was a fire alarm at 5:30 in the morning. Eventhough nothing bad happened to anyone (it was a kitchen/oil fire), we (& other clients) think the "fire alarm protocol" should be improved; i.e. everybody went down the stairs but we ended up in a sort of "cut de sac" ... - breakfast was very good but all the "nuts" tasted stale ... they should be changed more often or put less outside at a time - We would recommend this hotel as it was very close to the centre but we the advantage of being in a quiet environment.

Schönes Hotel, wir waren grundsätzlich zufrieden. Abstriche zu machen gibt es beim Frühstück. Aufgrund vo Zöliakie benötige ich glutenfreies Frühstück, wo das Hotel glutenfreies Brot zur Verfügung stellt. Ansonsten weiss man jedoch eher schlecht Bescheid. Schlimmer war es, dass gewisse Speisen mit Allergenen beschriftet waren, gewisse jedoch auch nicht. So konnte ich nicht wissen, welches Fleisch ich essen durfte. Am schlimmsten war jedoch, das ein Müsli fälschlicherweise als Glutenfrei angegeben war, es jedoch auf Nachfrage nicht war. Zum Glück hatte ich vorher gefragt! Leider hatte man den Fehler nicht sofort behoben, was ich schlecht fand. Ausserhalb des Frühstücks und den teuren Preisen für das Parking ist das Hotel jedoch sauber, super gelegen und die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich.

We didn't get the room we booked..i.e atrium view. Breakfast was only adequate with 'hot' food items being served cold. The best thing about the hotel was the lication which is excellent for restaurants/bars and tivoli park.

The rooms have a strange layout, with doors to toilet and shower but with open sink area. This means that the (movement instigated) toilet light shines into the sleeping area if the toilet is used during darkness which can be disruptive to sleep. The breakfast area is in the foyer area, this means it becomes very loud, especially as the hotel seems popular with groups. When busy the breakfast staff become overwhelmed with dirty crockery piling up on tables and running out of cups, spoons etc, although the food was also replenished. Overall I would be happy to stay for night, but the irritations would put me off staying here again.

Amazing central location, modern clean rooms. I had the Deluxe room w/ terrace, incredible views. Breakfast is fantastic. Restaurant good quality and affordable. Bar service brilliant (extra credits to the young Serbian chap who was very professional and caring) Room service non-invasive and spot on. Parking in Ljubljana is very expensive so I recommend parking at Parkirna hiša Trdinova, which is a 10 minute walk away. Parking here is 110EUR for 7 days with unlimited in/out access. Parking everywhere else is over 35EUR per day... Best hotel I've stayed at in Ljubljana. The park outside gets busy at night with.. vagrants but they are not a problem, police always monitor this area and never felt unsafe.
