, Beautiful property, quiet, clean with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was in a sack which had to be taken to another room to heat, no microwave. Pool was broken (had been for over a year). We checked out after the night and received a full refund.

Killed over 10 bugs found in the bathroom throughout the night. Was kept up all night by neighboring room with TV and loud noises. Told staff they said they would take care of it and yet the next evening same thing no apologies and no adjustment on bill. Not able to use the pool. Had to walk to nearby building for breakfast and food was horrible

The property is under considerable repair / remodeling due to frozen pipes. Don't understand why beautiful pool is closed. Wouldn't recommend seniors stay in available rooms. Our recently remodeled room already has paint peeling in the bathroom. Disappointing stay to celebrate 59th anniversary!

The room was clean. There was no shampoo. The lounge and pool are closed. The pool is the main reason I booked here. Very disappointed.

The pool was closed which is very disappointing as we specifically choose our lodging based on having a pool. The hot breakfast was delicious and all of the staff was very friendly. The cottage and the property are not well maintained. The roads have a lot of potholes. Our cottage key reader didn't work the majority of the time. We even had the keys kept far away from anything else and took them to be reprogrammed once they still barely worked. Most of the time it didn't even recognize you inserted a key. The cottage itself was pretty snug and the shower could be cleaned better. I understand you are "glamping" but they should spray the porch for spiders - at night there is an army of them trying to attack you while you are fighting with the key to get in. I don't think they ever mop the floors in the cabins they were very very dirty.

When I opened the door to the house, there was a musty smell, and the shampoo and conditioner were in a container, but the container was overflowing and the dishes and knives were stained with food. The breakfast menu was good and the waiters were friendly. There was a swimming pool, but it was unfortunate that it was under construction and could not be used.

Great diamond in the rough. Kasie was super friendly at the front desk. Can see renovations are happening. Pool was completed and very nice area. Great views and plenty of space in the cottage. Could use a few more kitchen ammenities like a frying pan bigger than 8 inches. The sheets, bathrooms, kitchen were clean. Floors were not. Left our feet black. Did enjoy exploring the grounds on the paths.

Overall, I had a very nice day and I enjoyed being in the cabin, the kitchen had all needed utensils and was very nice and clean as was the bathroom. The Main complaint that I have is that The keys stopped working and I had to go at least twice back up to the main lodge to get them re-done. I was warned to keep them away from cell phone And I kept them in separate pockets in my purse . It was not really apparent but the floor was dirty. I noticed it when I took a shower and observed dirt washing off the bottom of my feet - I had been walking, barefoot inside the cabin. Lastly, the televisions were not hooked up correctly and so I could not watch TV on them, but that wasn’t such a big deal for me as I did have my iPad with me and could watch TV on it

The provided shampoo products in bathroom have a foil cap under lid that you have to use teeth to remove them it gets in your mouth. Maybe switch to another brand. The balconies are filthy including screen door, window sill and floor. The insides of the room are great and clean and plenty of provided towels etc I will stay again if necessary

The Room #202 was absolutely horrible. It was right next to the lobby and elevator. And the adjacent room’s door slammed constantly and the sound of the elevator was annoying. After over an hour of having my sleep constantly disturbed, I asked to move to another room. Though the 2nd room was mostly quieter, the room above me, I could easily hear the footsteps at midnight. Fortunately, once they stopped walking around, it was quiet enough to fall asleep. Their facility definitely needs to somehow update their soundproofing.

Great place to stay and get away. Close to Madison and was a central meeting place for me and my friends for a weekend away. Service was wonderful and friendly and helped us with a key card that didnt work. Note to those who stay, the faucet to get the shower to run is under the tub spiget. Took me a minute to figure out you have to pull the actual mouth of the spiget for it to run.

The facility is in less than top condition. While we were there the staff were able to satisfy some needs, but no housekeeping attention was given to our room at the lodge during our stay in mid -April. Much attention to detail needed to ready the facility for prime time. It is a lovely location.

We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin.It was very spacious. Our cabin was a duplex,attached to another cabin, but each cabin has its own fire-ring area so its nice & private. Saw lots of deer at dusk! Lots of birds to enjoy! Beautiful place

We had a fabulous time, went to the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. We stayed at the General Butler Resort Hotel in a cabin. It is beautiful, too bad the pool was under construction, but had things to do. Our cabin had a sunken bedroom which was weird that you had to step down into the room and felt like you were going to fall. Hopefully all the cabins are not like that. Breakfasts are included and where fabulous!!! Would love to go back!!

General Butler State Park is a beautiful place to stay. It has lots of hiking trails and a multitude of facilities for camping and outdoor activities. We stayed in the lodge which is a wonderfully attractive building, with an gorgeous lounge with high glass windows looking out over woodland to the Ohio river in the distance. This room has a huge open fireplace that would be incredible in the winter. Our room was very clean and nicely situated for loading bags from the car and had everything we needed. Thanks GBSP, excellent service and facilities! 🙂

Great value. Excellent venue, the rooms need a little love but they were clean and comfortable. Highly recomend the restaurant. Savannah was my friendly server. The Hostess, Annie was fabulous, took time to converse with me. The food was absolutely amazing! Breakfast comes with the stay..the best real breakfast at any hotel!. I loved it.
