This is a nice small quiet resort, the location is odd and the enterance is very easy to miss. it is set back far enough from the main road, so they rooms are very quite and secluded. The staff are all extremley helpful. Rooms are well kept and very clean. Signiture SPa treatment was fairly good.

The staff were awesome, I was unfortunately ill for half of my trip and staff were really helpful. I got the spa suite and to have the spa treatments everyday was a nice treat! Really spacious room with a lovely balcony view. I will miss it so much. Thank you Samata team

The Samata Lifestyle Retreat was an amazing experience, excellent value, professional friendly attentive staff, great ocean view room, quiet, clean, felt like a private romantic retreat. Great to relax and enjoying a getaway.

The Samata ist ein wirklich schönes Hotel. Wir waren drei Nächte um uns direkt nach der Ankunft vom Jetlag zu erholen. Wir bekamen bei der Ankunft ein Upgrade auf eine der Villen. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön. Die Bäder sind für Bali üblich gehobener Standard. Das Frühstück ist der Hammer. Sehr lecker und ein guter Start in den Tag. Die Pools werden jeden Tag gereinigt und gechlort. Das Wasser ist traumhaft. Die Umgebung ist nicht auf Touristen ausgelegt. Man braucht für alles ein Taxi. Das war uns aber für die ersten Tage nicht wichtig. Im Hotel selbst merkt man nichts von der Hektik außen rum. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, höflich und nett. Großes Lob! Wir würden das samata wieder buchen. Einziges Manko ist der stolze Preis. Auch die zubuchbaren Optionen im Hotel entsprechen eher europäischen Preisen als balinesischen Standards.

This hotel is located far from the noisy part of Denpasar. It’s kind of hidden, very quiet, clean, and very beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. And the staff was very friendly. I almost forgot to mention that the food was great. This hotel is perfect for people who really want a very relaxing and quite getaway place.

This is a five star review with one negative which had little to do with the facility. The villas were amazing, quiet and clean. The pools were great with hardly anyone else using them. Staff are a stand out, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The food is superb. The only down side is the distance from Sanur and lack of eating places nearby. Taxi was up to forty minutes due mainly to the new port access. That is our bad not the resort. Overall I can’t fault the resort, facilities or staff. We had an amazing time.

We had a great experience at The Samata, from the moment we checked in until we checked out. Communication was clear and the staff accommodated our schedules. We had tours every day so they had our breakfast (included with our package) packed and ready to go prior to us leaving for the day. The rooms were clean, although there were occasional small bugs/lizards. Didn’t really bother us though. Our private 2br villa was spacious and we appreciated the privacy. Location wise, it was about 30-40 mins away from the airport. A little farther to Ubud, so it depends what your itinerary is. Overall, a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend. Thank you The Samata for making our first time in Bali a great experience!

They did not come to pick me up from the airport even though it said on the Expedia website. There were mosquitos and I saw a lizard in my room the next day which was scary. There’s nothing to explore around the hotel. The transport is actually 1.5 hours instead of 30 mins from the airport!!!

First and foremost, adored the staff! They were extremely attentive and personable. The villa was open air concept and comfortable. Clean to perfection. The fitness center was out of this world, had everything. The tennis court was private so no onlooker’s could stop and stare, and decent. Not in the greatest shape but got the job done, and, we fixed the net that was gapping at the top. Food from the restaurant was fresh and fabulous, we’ve basically had everything on the menu and was completely satisfied with it.

I stood here for one night and absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and polite, and helped me carry my bags upstairs. They also asked me the night before what I would like for breakfast, and if I wanted it taken up to my room, as well as what time. (And the breakfast was delicious). The bathroom amenities were a nice touch, as I got an all natural bar of soup which smelled wonderful, as well as herbs for a bath soak, and other things available upon request (comb, toothbrush..etc). The room was very beautiful and clean, with great air conditioning. The only negatives are that the location is off of a main busy highway street (can’t grab a cab easily) and although I had a good nights rest, the bed is a little hard for my liking. Other than these things, my stay was amazing.

The Samata is a brilliant choice for those looking for a little quiet time out with its charming and laid back vibe. It was at full capacity on some days and yet quiet and peaceful! I love that you can be as social or as private as you like here. The ocean and rice fields make for a charming view- ask for the Ocean View Suite on the top floor to get the most of it. But best, it is located in Sanur so central to all the different tourist sites and places. You will need to drive/ cab it from here rather than be able to walk to these. But apps like Grab keep thungs convenient and well within your budget. The restaurant serves a decent selection at great prices (I saw restaurants across Bali charging way more than room service here!). Food is delicious and healthy. Great place and wonderful staff. Gentle and kind, and always with an answer to your next question about Bali. Perfect place to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.

This is absolutely the best family holiday we have ever had and The Samata was far beyond our expectations. Our family stayed in the 2-bedroom villa with the private pool which was modern as well as tastefully decorated. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and always went out of their way to make sure our family was relaxed and enjoying our stay. Highly recommended if you are visiting Bali with a family.

We absolutely loved our stay at Samata. The villas are exceptional with the largest bathrooms we have ever seen in our travels. The food is restaurant quality and beautifully presented. The Samata ist ein wirklich schönes Hotel. Wir waren drei Nächte um uns direkt nach der Ankunft vom Jetlag zu erholen. Wir bekamen bei der Ankunft ein Upgrade auf eine der Villen. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön. Die Bäder sind für Bali üblich gehobener Standard. Das Frühstück ist der Hammer. Sehr lecker und ein guter Start in den Tag. Die Pools werden jeden Tag gereinigt und gechlort. Das Wasser ist traumhaft. Die Umgebung ist nicht auf Touristen ausgelegt. Man braucht für alles ein Taxi. Das war uns aber für die ersten Tage nicht wichtig. Im Hotel selbst merkt man nichts von der Hektik außen rum. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, höflich und nett. Großes Lob! Wir würden das samata wieder buchen. Einziges Manko ist der stolze Preis. Auch die zubuchbaren Optionen im Hotel entsprechen eher europäischen Preisen als balinesischen Standards.

This hotel is located far from the noisy part of Denpasar. It’s kind of hidden, very quiet, clean, and very beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. And the staff was very friendly. I almost forgot to mention that the food was great. This hotel is perfect for people who really want a very relaxing and quite getaway place.

I stood here for one night and absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and polite, and helped me carry my bags upstairs. They also asked me the night before what I would like for breakfast, and if I wanted it taken up to my room, as well as what time. (And the breakfast was delicious). The bathroom amenities were a nice touch, as I got an all natural bar of soup which smelled wonderful, as well as herbs for a bath soak, and other things available upon request (comb, toothbrush..etc). The room was very beautiful and clean, with great air conditioning. The only negatives are that the location is off of a main busy highway street (can’t grab a cab easily) and although I had a good nights rest, the bed is a little hard for my liking. Other than these things, my stay was amazing.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, it has been luxurious treatment. I've been notified before our arrival of the arrangement and despite booking it wrong on the website to have 2 single beds instead of a king bed, they managed to accommodate it to our preferences last minute. The whole staff has been so friendly and very attentive to our needs throughout the trip, from messaging us the night prior to get our breakfast order to noticing our discomfort following a rough trip to Nusa Penida, they've even went above and beyond into providing us teas to calm our nerves which weren't on the menu or expected. All in all, I would definitely recommend staying at the Samata, it made our Bali stay unforgettable.

We had tours every day so they had our breakfast (included with our package) packed and ready to go prior to us leaving for the day. The rooms were clean, although there were occasional small bugs/lizards. Didn’t really bother us though. Our private 2br villa was spacious and we appreciated the privacy. Location wise, it was about 30-40 mins away from the airport. A little farther to Ubud, so it depends what your itinerary is. Overall, a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend. I’ve stayed at over 30 world-renowned hotel brands through Hotels.com, but this one was by far the best. When I told them I had to leave at dawn and would miss breakfast, they actually prepared a packed meal for me to take. This kind of kindness is something you’d expect only from family—yet they extended it to a random foreigner like me! The facilities, food quality, and overall standard were simply exceptional. As a Korean, I can confidently say that to experience this level of quality back home, you’d easily have to pay at least ten times more. And if you look at the other reviews, they’re all full of praise—because this place truly deserves it.

Wir waren in einer Villa mit zwei Schlafzimmer und eigenem Pool untergebracht. Die Villa war auch durch den großzügigen Außenbereich sehr groß. Alles toll eingerichtet und sauber. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Duschen ist im großzügigem Badbereich innen und außen möglich. Auch der allgemeine Pool und Liegebereich ist sehr schön. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich , zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Besonders Angaa war sehr bemüht und hat uns bei der Planung diverser Ausflüge und der Transferbuchung nach Lombok geholfen. Zwe ganzei Tage hatten wir über das Samata einen Driver. Zero hat uns überal sicherl hingeführt, eigene Vorschläge gemacht, geduldig auf uns gewartet wenn wir Strände besuchten und uns verlässlich wieder aufgeladen..Auch das Frühstück im Samata hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und war mehr als ausreichend. Man konnte jeweils zwischen einem Hauptgang und Dessert sowie einem heißen Getränk und Juice wählen. Alles frisch und appetitlich zubereitet. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und sollten wir wieder nach Bali kommen dann wird das Samata unsere Unterkunft sein!

we stayed for 5 nights and the place is so quiet, not so many guests; in fact we were the only one in breakfast and using the pool. the service was good, however, some server did not speak English, so we had some trouble getting what we wanted at breakfast. overall, it's a good place to stay.

This is a nice small quiet resort, the location is odd and the enterance is very easy to miss. it is set back far enough from the main road, so they rooms are very quite and secluded. The staff are all extremley helpful. Rooms are well kept and very clean. Signiture SPa treatment was fairly good.

The Samata is a brilliant choice for those looking for a little quiet time out with its charming and laid back vibe. It was at full capacity on some days and yet quiet and peaceful! I love that you can be as social or as private as you like here. The ocean and rice fields make for a charming view- ask for the Ocean View Suite on the top floor to get the most of it. But best, it is located in Sanur so central to all the different tourist sites and places. You will need to drive/ cab it from here rather than be able to walk to these. But apps like Grab keep thungs convenient and well within your budget. The restaurant serves a decent selection at great prices (I saw restaurants across Bali charging way more than room service here!). Food is delicious and healthy. Great place and wonderful staff. Gentle and kind, and always with an answer to your next question about Bali. Perfect place to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.

They did not come to pick me up from the airport even though it said on the Expedia website. There were mosquitos and I saw a lizard in my room the next day which was scary. There’s nothing to explore around the hotel. The transport is actually 1.5 hours instead of 30 mins from the airport!!!

Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt. Mann wacht morgens mit Blick auf die Reisfelder und Meer auf. Ein großer eigener Pool. Blick über die Reisfelder. Toller Service. Nach Sanur braucht man ein Taxi 10-30 Minuten, je nach Verkehr. 4-6 Euro. Nur das Europäische Frühstück könnte besser sein. Eier zum Toast und etwas Wurst oder Käse wären schön. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

This is a five star review with one negative which had little to do with the facility. The villas were amazing, quiet and clean. The pools were great with hardly anyone else using them. Staff are a stand out, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The food is superb. The only down side is the distance from Sanur and lack of eating places nearby. Taxi was up to forty minutes due mainly to the new port access. That is our bad not the resort. Overall I can’t fault the resort, facilities or staff. We had an amazing time.

I love that you can be as social or as private as you like here. The ocean and rice fields make for a charming view- ask for the Ocean View Suite on the top floor to get the most of it. But best, it is located in Sanur so central to all the different tourist sites and places. You will need to drive/ cab it from here rather than be able to walk to these. But apps like Grab keep thungs convenient and well within your budget. The restaurant serves a decent selection at great prices (I saw restaurants across Bali charging way more than room service here!). Food is delicious and healthy. Great place and wonderful staff. Gentle and kind, and always with an answer to your next question about Bali. Perfect place to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.

First and foremost, adored the staff! They were extremely attentive and personable. The villa was open air concept and comfortable. Clean to perfection. The fitness center was out of this world, had everything. The tennis court was private so no onlooker’s could stop and stare, and decent. Not in the greatest shape but got the job done, and, we fixed the net that was gapping at the top. Food from the restaurant was fresh and fabulous, we’ve basically had everything on the menu and was completely satisfied with it.

Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt. Mann wacht morgens mit Blick auf die Reisfelder und Meer auf. Ein großer eigener Pool. Blick über die Reisfelder. Toller Service. Nach Sanur braucht man ein Taxi 10-30 Minuten, je nach Verkehr. 4-6 Euro. Nur das Europäische Frühstück könnte besser sein. Eier zum Toast und etwas Wurst oder Käse wären schön. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We absolutely loved our stay at Samata. The villas are exceptional with the largest bathrooms we have ever seen in our travels. The food is restaurant quality and beautifully presented. Samata is tucked away down a quiet Jalan with an immediate outlook over tranquil rice fields to the ocean beyond. All the staff were exceptional with their service and genuine kindness. We will absolutely be back to stay, next time for longer. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

This hotel is located far from the noisy part of Denpasar. It’s kind of hidden, very quiet, clean, and very beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. And the staff was very friendly. I almost forgot to mention that the food was great. This hotel is perfect for people who really want a very relaxing and quite getaway place.

I stood here for one night and absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and polite, and helped me carry my bags upstairs. They also asked me the night before what I would like for breakfast, and if I wanted it taken up to my room, as well as what time. (And the breakfast was delicious). The bathroom amenities were a nice touch, as I got an all natural bar of soup which smelled wonderful, as well as herbs for a bath soak, and other things available upon request (comb, toothbrush..etc). The room was very beautiful and clean, with great air conditioning. The only negatives are that the location is off of a main busy highway street (can’t grab a cab easily) and although I had a good nights rest, the bed is a little hard for my liking. Other than these things, my stay was amazing.

we stayed for 5 nights and the place is so quiet, not so many guests; in fact we were the only one in breakfast and using the pool. the service was good, however, some server did not speak English, so we had some trouble getting what we wanted at breakfast. overall, it's a good place to stay.

If looking for a nice and quiet place - With the nicest staff, this is where to go. The villas are big - with large bedrooms and large outdoor spaces. Every villa with private pool - but also 3 large common pools. Excellent breakfast …just choose from the ala carte. But …..most importantly…a huge shoutout for the staff. So nice and helpful

Our overall experience was a 10/10!! The staff was incredible. They were welcoming, helpful, and extremely hospitable. The food was delicious. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The open air dining was romantic and quiet. Perfect for my wife and I. The gym is one of the best ones that I have had the pleasure of working out in. Most hotels have a cardio section and dumbells. Samata has that, PLUS a squat rack, a smith machine, leg press machine, cable machines, and... a boxing/kickboxing area!!! Awesome! We chose to have a spa day that included a 60 minute massage and a coffee body scrub. This was MY first experience doing anything like this, and I have to tell you that they set the bar super high! It such a relaxing experience and the coffee scrub left our skin feeling so smooth. My wife and I are already planning to come back to Bali with our kids and when we do, we will definitely be booking our stay here again.
