There was a lot of dust in high places and all over the hair dryer. The Iron was full of water. As a person who suffers from severe allergies, those little dust bunnies are monsters. The room we wanted was not available, hot tub down. The gentlemen at the front desk made it worth my while and offered me a discount due to the tub being unusable. He was very hospitable!

Hotel under renovation. Items out of order - ice machine, gym, soda machine, and breakfast in lobby. Had 2 rooms. One room had no blankets, broken microwave (door open all the time with light on. Close door microwave runs constantly). Freshly painted bathrooms. Paint drips on title. One hint on door not painted. Other room had blankets. Icing on the cake at check in I was told that my children (unseen) could not run up and down halls and make noise that would disturb the other guests. Very rude assumption. Would not recommend staying here.

The first room I was given was so dirty that I had to request a different one. Unfortunately, the second room was just as bad. I have photos showing hair all over the bathroom, stained bedding and towels, and surfaces that clearly had not been cleaned in some time. Because I was in town for a competition, I didn’t have the ability to leave and find another hotel on short notice. I felt completely trapped into staying. I was told I would receive a refund due to the condition of both rooms, but that refund still has not come through. The night clerk was the only positive part of my stay. He was kind, respectful, and tried his best to make things right. The daytime staff was the opposite. I was forced to walk around the back of the building in six-inch heels in the rain because they had mopped the lobby. Not exactly welcoming or considerate. Additional concerns: • Breakfast items were unusable. All the bananas were brown. • Hallways and public spaces were not clean. • The in-room coffee maker produced yellow water. • The gym had decent equipment but the room was very small. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it. A clean room and basic hospitality are the bare minimum, and this hotel failed to meet even that.

This property has been fully updated. I would like to point out it doesn't have elevators. Only stairs which, could pose an issue for some.

Coffe excellent, food good, parking good, clean, a little crowded in the room for luggage n people. No clock in the room, which would b nice.all n all, good accommodations. Great location, convenient.

Place was nice and clean for the most part, but they were under construction and said they weren’t having breakfast although the breakfast room was finished and had all the appliances and tables and chairs. Part of the reason I booked this hotel was for the breakfast.

The room was dirty, bed uncomfortable, the deadbolt wouldnt lock, the door had a gap so big I could fit a finger through it when closed. Parking was extremely limited. And for $120+ for 1 night, it was horrible.

The room was spacious and clean. I had no complaints. Except the door leading out the side needs more attention. I seemed to be warped or the hinges are. In order for the door to completely close all the way. You have to pull it in to make sure it's secured. Staff was very friendly and talkative

The Red Lion Inn & Suites is a clean, decent property that I would stay in again if I am in the K. C. area again. Although I did not need an elevator/lift, it is worth noting that there is not one available should you need one.

we had a late evening arrival and were assigned a room. Upon entering the room, it appeared OK but on further investigation, it was full of fleas. They were on the bed on the rug and getting on our clothes. We packed up immediately and reported it to the manager and he apologized and assigned a new room. We went to the new room started an investigation there but it was very late and noted there were no obvious fleas but was not clean and noted hair in the sinks and shower drain. We did stay in the room and suffered water, noises banging pipes, and neighbors who were very loud and did not sleep apparently. Upon leaving we noted a cockroach had gotten into our shoe on the floor. Overall, it was a terrible terrible night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The check in took 15 minutes with no one else available. The blow dryer plug was broken with exposed circuits. The iron was filthy. There was hair in the tub and an extreme amount of mildew in the shower. Every soap, shampoo or coffee items had different hotel brands on them. Old apples covered in gnats on the check in bar.

It was just gross. Humid and sticky feeling inside. Likely moldy mildew all over. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to one.

Property was pretty dirty, paint missing on walls and doors. Daylight showing through our door in our room. There was a penny in our bathroom on the floor as well as hair. Smelled stale and old. The bed was on a metal platform that sounds like your laying on a furnace vent every time you move. The only nice thing to say was the bight office guy was very nice.

The room smelled musty, the horrible wall ac was off so the room was hot and took an hr to cool off. Something in the air left a dust like taste in my mouth. Sheets were stained. Bathroom had rust on all the metal pieces, the sink had some kind of black tar on the vanity and it wouldn't drain. The walls are thin. The people that run it run around, are loud, rude and treat it like a drug house. Front desk is horribly rude! Just overall disgusting!! I needed to shower again after I left showered in the room because I felt dirty from the room. Never again!!

It was dirty. There was black mold in the shower and on the bathroom floor which made me think the rest of the unit was probably dirty too. My room had a huge moth in it that was pretty nasty too.

This property is beyond nasty. It is so dirty. Got there. There’s blood on the sheets. Bathroom was dirty. Stayed there three days. Not once did they come and do maintenance on the Room. Let’s talk about their practice. They reheat their food. They’re sausage, egg biscuits and gravy are reheated. Every single day. Coffee is old. I can’t explain how bad it is. If you can’t stay away, this property is way beyond nasty and lacks everything.

Front desk clerk was laying on a couch behind the desk every time I was looking for him. The tv remote didn’t work properly. There was long black hair on the bathroom floor that didn’t belong to me. The room darkening shade didn’t go down. The juice machine was out of order. There was no bread, bagels or English muffins for toasting. All in all was disgusting.

Bed was very uncomfortable, Air conditioner was very loud. The floor was uneven in the room. The room itself was clean and neat but for almost $200 a night I wouldn’t stay there again.

The hotel was run down, tv didn’t work, window was fully open upon check in with no screen and wouldn't lock.

Finding a hotel during Graduation weekend that isn't $300 a night wasn't the easiest task, but I found a hidden gem! I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. When reading reviews, I saw people having trouble checking in, or having no food for breakfast, so I was a bit worried. When I came in I noticed a sign that said to call "0" for immediate assistance. Called it and within a minute a very nice man came out and helped check us in. He was very thorough in letting us know everything we needed to know. He even saw my 80 year old grandmother with us, and let us know it was only 7 steps up to get to our rooms. It was very kind of him to notice her and make sure we didn't have far to go since there didn't seem to be an elevator. The rooms were clean, and mattresses looked to be fairly new which was a nice surprise! The AC unit and the fridge were a bit loud through the night, but that's to be expected with an older building. In the morning we went downstairs to eat breakfast and had waffles, eggs, and biscuits. I will say if you go the last hour breakfast is served, it's likely going to be pretty picked over. We got packed up after breakfast and it was an easy check out with leaving our keys at the desk. My aunt did accidentally take a hanger from the room, and quickly noticed and went back to return it. The lady she handed it to looked rather confused, but it was the right thing to do. All in all, I would definitely stay here again!

From the beginning we had issues, first it smelled in the room, then TV didn't work, telephone to call front desk didn't work, they moved us to another room, the TV would at least turn on but was stuck on their welcome channel, wasn't a battery in remote problem, so first night no tv, get up next morning for breakfast coffee pot is broken, try to use wifi and it was out. I don't think we were being unreasonable by asking to have a TV. These are basic amenities

Then, the room door was faulty; we had to physically push the door into the frame each time we used it. Then, there was zero cleaning for the entire four-day experience: no bed making, no bathroom cleaning, nothing. We only had three pillows on a full-size bed (not the queen they showed in their pictures and description). The pillows were compacted into 1/2 pillow sizes so that they would appear thicker. When we asked for more pillows, they refused us. The bed was like a concrete slab. The air conditioner kept shorting. We had to get up and reset the breaker multiple times per night... Wow. Just Wow. Never going back.

The rooms smelled like mildew, the toilet seat was extremely loose and sliding around you had to be careful or you would fall off. You walked down the hallways and it smelled like weed. The shower head was built for someone 5’ tall definitely not for tall people and the shampoo and conditioner that they have for you was empty.

I had to wait at the desk for quite awhile hitting the help button, before someone came to check me in. There were no batteries in the remote so you could not watch tv. The property smells like dog everywhere. The hallway, your room, check in area. Won’t stay again

The staff was very nice but I had to call them about the people staying there. Running, jumping up and dow above us and slamming doors all night. Too loud to rest

Beds are really hard but the pillows were nice over stuffed and fluffy. There was only about 1/4 roll of toilet paper in the room when we checked in. We called the next morning to ask if they could bring us more and were asked to come get it from the desk. It was after 9 am, so the front desk wasnt alone.

Checked in at 3pm on Friday cleaned up left and went to the wedding rehearsal that i traveled 5 hours to go to, returned to the hotel couldn't get in my room so go to front desk they tell me they checked me into the wrong room and removed my luggage till i returned back, long story short my luggage including my tuxedo for the wedding was put in a mop closet and covered in cleaning soap they refused to help get it dry cleaned and said accidnts happen no refund no comp for dry cleaning they were very racist saying to me that white people always try playing tricks and they are tired of them. Horrible people Horrible experience beware when staying.

It took nearly 15 minutes for anyone to meet us at the front desk,- we arrived 15 minutes after check out Time 3:15 PM, and when they did, they were very unfriendly. Cleaning staff started going up and down the hallway on a Sunday morning at 8:30 AM knocking on doors and playing loud music in the hallway -we replied to them that our check out was it 11 and we would be leaving then they continue to come back to the door every half an hour and finally the last two times didn’t even knock just open the door and walked in. The property is not well kept, the covers are still on the lamp shades which clearly say, removed before using, etc. I would only stay here again if it were the very last hotel room available, and I absolutely positively had to stay in this area.

It was comfortable and clean inside the hotel and it’s in an excellent location! However, the parking lot is a disgrace! People throw their trash out everywhere! It’s definitely not a luxury hotel but definitely worth it as an economic booking.

They have completely remodeled the hotel. The beds are comfortable and it is located within walking distance of restaurants. In my opinion it was a great deal for what they charged.

Loved my stay! Area was nice with a lot of food and shopping options nearby. The hotel had just been recently remodeled and was very nice. The only complaint I had was the shower head was too low and wasn’t designed for a tall person. Other than that really enjoyed my visit and would definitely stay here again.

Upon check-in Staff informed me they are in the process of remodeling the hotel and there might be a possibility of noise early the next morning.. Noise was not a problem..My room was CLEAN with updated interior the bed was SUPER COMFORTABLE! Outside of hotel has painted.. This hotel is in a Good location with many good restaurants and shopping with-in walking distance. While this is a no-frill hotel.. i would stay there again and recommend it to others.

It took ten minutes for someone to come to the check in desk. The breakfast was out of food by 8, we had to get someone to refill stuff. The juice dispenser didn’t work and there were no alternatives offered.

There was limited breakfast. Nothing to drink other than coffee, not water or juices. Had to turn the waffle maker on myself. Had a smell to the entire place. Bed made a noise every time we rolled over. Staff was pleasant.

Unfortunately the property was being rehabbed. There was no beverage or breakfast service as advertised because it was being remodeled. The back entry and hall was filthy. The bathroom was in stages of repair and was a mess. Very disappointed!

After checking in I was informed that there would not be any breakfast as they were doing some remodeling and could not serve food. Got to my room and was going to take a hot bath as I have severe arthritis and there was no plug for the drain. Management said none of the rooms have plugs and I would need to take a shower instead. I go to take a shower and there is no water pressure coming out of the shower head. I had to be moved to another room because they couldn’t get it fixed.

Everything was ok. But not only was I told but 2 other people said they were told breakfast is over at 10a.m. But it ends at 9 a.m.....

I think breakfast was supposed to be from 6am to 8 or 9am. At 7:45am there was no breakfast or coffee. The gentleman at the front desk was asleep on the couch behind the desk. Probably should have woken him, but decided he must be tired. Room was clean and nice.

The establishment should not be renting out rooms at more than $80. Breakfast was over cooked (sausage was burned, and eggs dry), nothing to drink except coffee. I'll never stay there again and won't recommend to anyone.

Advertised free hot breakfast but when we arrived we were told that there was no breakfast service due to remodeling. Since our reservation was non-refundable we were stuck. Ended up paying an additional $35 for breakfast the next morning at IHOP.
