Hyatt Regency Houston West

Very spacious and warm atmosphere in lobby/dining area.

Exemplary everything except two things. First, the parking lot is very far away from the front entrance. At night, it is unsafe. Second, I arrived late at night and there were no machines available for drinks or snacks. I flew for several hours and expected that amenity. I visited the on-site restaurants and bar during the day. They were top notch!:You need to have a shuttle at night because of the distance.

Ok hotel.but definitely older. Elevators were incredibly slow. Lots of highway noise. Towels were threadbare. Could be a great property once renovated. The staff great for the most part excluding the valet when we were leaving who was sitting down and on his phone. Having worked in hospitality that's a huge no-no.

The common areas like lobby is fantastic. Room and Fitness center are okay

Lovely hotel with a wonderful scent throughout. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and free parking. More of a business hotel, but it was perfect for our stopover in Houston

Swimming pool was closed. We had booked the property for swimming pool. We had to leave it and book another place - did not finish our stay

Beautiful hotel. Ice machine was broken and fridge wasn't working right either. Otherwise it was a great place!

The Hyatt Regency Houston West was a great hotel to stay in. It was clean, looked great and had a nice pool and fitness center.

I was excited about my stay, from reading some reviews prior. I was only staying for a night, I found body hair in the bed. The air conditioner made a loud knock before coming on , each time. There was no ventilation switch in the bathroom and finally, there was mold on the shower curtain. It could use some upgrades.

My room sheets and cleaning overall was so filthy,I was disgusted to sleep on those sheets, it was a ordeal to open the shower which was broken,I’m glad it was for only one night, never again. Only good thing about this place is the waitresses at the restaurant on the lake or something like that.

We gaslit ourselves into thinking we brought the ants in the room because we were by the pool before we went into the room. However the last night we got in late and picked up a late night snack and woke up to a pile of ants on the night stand. Maybe ask if they fumigated before booking

The room was extremely dirty, old bed and the sheets has a weird smell. They put a lot of effort and money into the lobby but the rooms are outdated. Probably have bed bugs! Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The staff were very friendly. The property inside and outside was gorgeous and very clean. My room was great, clean with a very comfortable bed. I had some food at the restaurant and it was very good.

The hotel is beautiful, everything around it. Very clean, organized and fragrant! The people who work at the hotel are very kind, from the valet to the restaurant waiters! I travel a lot and whenever I arrive at any hotel, I have to clean something, especially the toilet, but this time it wasn't necessary. Everything was clean. I loved my stay, I will be back and I highly recommend it! ❤️

Nice quiet clean property.

Checked into my room and after about a hour or so there were roaches all on and around my coffee cup and on the tables.

Great location decent staff the rooms are below average they look very tired.

The bed was great, bathroom clean. However the appointments in the room were dowdy, tired. Lamps were bad, switches especially. The furniture looked old, and not cleaned.

Overall my experience was fine but they placed me on the second floor over the fitness center and as soon as the gym opened, someone in the weight room decided to work out and kept dropping the weights which made the entire floor vibrate. I had to ask to be moved to another room. Also, the lobby area is way too cold. Be sure to bring a sweater, even in the heat of the summer. Other than that, the hotel is nice.

The biggest issue was the a/c. It did not cool the room and this is a must in humid hot Houston. By the time I realized it wasn't cooling it was 10PM and I was exhausted from a full day of travel. Wallpaper was peeling from the wall in the bathroom. There was only one garbage can and it did not have a liner.

We loved just about everything about this hotel, the layout the amenities and the rooms. Our only complaint was our JR suite was next to the freeway and there is little to no sound dampening from the street! The highway noise is crazy! Just get room away from the freeway.

Nice comfortable room with large bed and good shower. Air con was a little noisy but never got too hot when switched off.

Typical hotel room. The room was clean room and the bed was comfortable. My only gripe is that there was no real hot water. You had to wait a long time to get warm water. It didn’t have a microwave and you had to set the AC to 62 to cool the room. I think the floor and wing I stayed may need a refresher. I just expected more from a Hyatt Regency.

I was put in a room right on the hwy 10 side was up all night with trucks and sirens.

Staff was hard to work with! Worked for over an hour to finally get into our booked room. Morning before eating breakfast I specifically asked if breakfast was included and was told that yes it was but then later it was charged from my credit card.

Check in was fine. But we have problems in the room The blow dry was broke. I called the front desk twice and let it ring about 20 times. So I had to get dressed and go down to the desk he said housekeeping would bring one right up. It’s been 20 minutes and no hair dry. I sure would like to go to bed😕

The lady at the front desk, KAMEYAH spirit was very professional and helpful. She’s first class.

Staff members from the person in valet parking to the registration desk to the wait staff in the food areas were very friendly and efficient and very responsive to questions and requests. Without question, I would stay at this facility again.

Hyatt regency used to be the icon of excellence and class. this particular hotel had no hot water or the uot water would come in and go and sometimes work. front desk NEVER answered the phone.

Iwas disappointed that I didn't have a refrigerator for 2 days, I asked for one and they said yes they had one never brought, i brought food expecting one, People checked in the next day and got refrigerator, and they clean the room or bring fresh towels.

The check-in process was easy, however, they did not offer any VIP upgrades. When we went to our room, there was stuff on the toilet seat. There was also hair in the bathroom sink. I went back to the front desk and told them of the issues with the room. The man at the front desk did not say anything and gave me a different room. I am okay with the room not being perfect, however, the demeanor of the front desk staff when I voiced a concern was what prompted me to write a review. Having an on-site restaurant was nice, but the food was nothing special.

I arrived after a full day of travel eager to get to my room. This is a cool, but large and older hotel. I was given my single room key after a brief wait and made journey to the room to find the key not working. I travel a lot and this happens every now and then with scan cards. I went back and the desk attendant re-scanned the key, went back, still not working, went back again, now she moves me to a new floor with a new key, that's not working, up and down up and down. The fourth time I went down very frustrated. No apology, just a smirk and an attempt to scan the key a FIFTH time. Zero awareness and more importantly zero care for what a hassle that was. No "oh my gosh I cannot believe this still isn't working, let me get someone to immediately let you in and refund a portion of your room cost" just an indifferent attitude. Finally a manager of some sort silently led me to my room and scanned me in....left me with no room keys so unable to leave my room. Some time in the night someone slid a key under my door. Hyatt dropped the ball on this stay. Could have all been solved with a smile, a sincere apology and some effort to make up for what happened. Stay somewhere else.

Beautiful and clean, with excellent service. Conveniently located, about 30 minute drive to downtown Houston. Lots of places to eat around the property. Meal options inside the hotel were a bit pricy.

Overall an average stay. The construction around the hotel was bothersome.

Good and affordable business hotel for walking to nearby energy corridor businesses. Bed and bedding were excellent. Heating and AC were effective, easy to control but noisy. Desk, power and WiFi were good. Room lighting was effective. Except for parts of the lobby during the day, much of the hotel is a bit dark and gloomy. Lobby is very nice, bar was good, restaurant OK (might be much better on patio in warmer weather). Although many reviews note that the rooms have an outdated design relative to most international Hyatt Regency hotels, the rooms are well maintained. We did not use the convention facilities. However, there were 3 distinct negatives. 1. In at least two rooms on the 5th floor, there was no hot water from midnight to 6 am for a week (water was 72F which feels cold to most people in a shower). Reception said they would leave a note for maintenance. Given the frequency of complaints about this in other reviews, I suspect that this is a choice of management, not a maintenance issue. 2. The outside entry is dark, poorly signed and confusing - looks like a dingy loading area, not the front entry area of a Hyatt Hotel - our Uber driver thought he'd made a wrong turn and asked what turned out to be the bell desk for directions to the entry. 3. Rooms on the south side near the Katy Freeway were very noisy - rooms facing NW were much quieter. Reception was very accommodating about a move. All in all, better than average for an aging business hotel.

One of my favorite hotels to stay at in the energy corridor, it is quiet, clean, and easy access to the freeway.

I definitely loved the ambience and decor of the place. Was very clean and spacious and in a great location for getting and and from places around the city.

Room was excellent and clean. Huge ~75” tv with a couple of hbo movie channels. The bathroom revealed its age (I remember when it was the Omni) and an update is in order. The koi pond was really nice. The hotel common areas are really nice & modern. The cafe was spacious and nice but the buffet “ hot” foods were way under acceptable service temperatures. I did have the fresh omelette, which was excellent and hot. The buffet was expensive at $26 a pop & the coffee was weak. They should offer expresso/cappuccino in the cafe. There is a Starbucks elsewhere in the hotel.

Hotel is undergoing some renovations. Water took over 20 minutes to get hot. Service was great. Food was good. Parking was ok.

The main restaurant was closed during hours that were posted they should be open. They told us to go to the bar to order food, but the seating was limited there. They only offered the breakfast buffet on Sunday instead of letting people order off the menu as well. It was a shame that with such a nice open seating area that was bright and comfortable you really couldn't eat there. We ended up just leaving the property and spending the money else where. The floors in the rooms looked like they hadn't been swept or vacuumed before we got there. There was hair everywhere. Looks like the carpet needs to replaced or get deep cleaned. We wore our shoes inside the room at all times.

Everyone was really nice and the restaurant and bar was right there in the hotel which was great and the breakfast was amazing!

My overall day was very nice. The hotel was beautiful however we went down for breakfast and breakfast was an additional cost. I wish they would have included breakfast with our stay.

At the bar I was charged over $24 for a beer and a shot. Outrageous. A lot of little old ladies at a conference were getting ripped off too. I've been using this hotel for more than 10 years. No more. Bye bye.
