Vi bodde på dette hotellet 2 netter og har et helhetlig bra inntrykk. Hotellet ligger litt vanskelig til hvis du ankommer med bil. Det er først en veldig bratt bakke ned og så en veldig bratt bakke opp. Da vi ankom hotellet var de ansatte veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Vi spiste på hotellet den første kvelden og maten var bra. God service fra restauranten som tilpasset maten etter våre ønsker. Utsikten fra terassen utenfor rommene er utrolig fin. Kort vei fra hotellet til Ella sentrum. Ønsker å gi en ekstra takk til meget hyggelige Thusara fra hotellet som passet på at vi hadde alt vi trengte.

Séjour fantastique dans cet hôtel avec une vue à couper le souffle. L'hôtel est incroyablement situé, juste au dessus de la voie de chemin de fer, et à 5 minutes à pied de la rue principale d'Ella (ça grimpe pour revenir par contre). Superbe piscine, au calme et profitant de la vue. Le petit déjeuner est excellent. Les plats sont délicieux (parfois épicés, on est au Sri Lanka), ils servent aussi des cocktails, des lassi etc, et on a eu la chance d'inaugurer le stand de glaces ! Et le top du top : le personnel d'une gentillesse incroyable, un merci tout spécial à Tushara pour son accueil.

The hotel has an amazing view. Staff was extremely serviceminded and helped anyway they could. Walking distance (5min) to Ella town. Downside is the road to the hotel is extremely narrow, so best to go with tuk tuk and not a car.

The views were amazing, room was big and clean, there is a steep walk to the hotel but staff helped with bags, the breakfast was average, overall a nice place to stay with friendly staff and views were unreal

hotel is up the hill and transport is needed to get here from the train station. Electrical outlets in the room are not all working. Bathroom should be upgraded but a good value for the money. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Beautiful views of Adams peak and Ella Rock. The room was large with 4-poster beds. Staff were friendly and breakfast buffet was good. Lots of steps to the room. Highly recommend.

Mysigt hotell med fantastisk vy. Trevlig personal, fin pool och god mat. Läget va toppen med ca 5 minuters promenad till in till stan. Rekommenderar verkligen att stanna här några nätter för att utforska Ella! Det låg uppe i bergen och hade ingen hiss, vilket kan vara bra att veta.

Pros - beautiful view, nice pool, staff were nice Cons - if you choose this hotel, asked to not be in 104. Noise from all angles; above and on both sides plus an outside light that shines in to the room. And you're on the pool and people swim outside of pool time and late in to the evening and again early. Floor in the room feels like it's rotting (strategically covered with carpet squares) and room stinks like mildew and clothes started to smell as well. You can see the water damage in the ceiling. The road from the street is very narrow and feels a bit like you're going to fall down the cliff. Our driver actually called to see if it was safe for him to bring us in by car. Wifi is terrible and we had to use data for two days Dinner in the restaurant isn't suggested. Expensive and we got a liquid yellow curry with a few small pieces of chicken that they tried to tell us was a masala (it very much wasn't). Breakfast was also mediocre. They did rice hoppers our second breakfast which was nice but they tasted like smoke which was odd. The road down in to Kandy is a bit of a hike and a bit dangerous as the tuk tuks use the shoulder and there are lots of blind spots. Tuks don't answer to PickMe and are expensive. It's also a long wait for them to come to the hotel so plan accordingly.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The view from the property is amazing. The staff here made our stay. Thusara and thushan were so accommodating and friendly it was sad to leave them. Also the walk into town isn’t far you can cut through over the train tracks. We had breakfast included and they have a decent variety of food. There were a couple improvements needed on the room our mattress was really average. It’s really light and you can hear everything going on down in the restaurant area. The shower works really well but the bathroom looks very tired.

We were very pleased with our 2-day stay. Despite the older facilities, the service level was excellent. We had the pleasure of Thushanthan helping us with both directions, tips and service — and he spoke our language as well! Overall, a great place to stay for a weekend in Ella. Could use a little touch up here and there, and perhaps a broader range in the breakfast buffet, but truly a great offer for the price.

Der er et rigtig sødt personale. Der var en ganske god morgenmads buffet. Der var lidt til en hver smag både koldt og varm mad. Vores værelse var rent, og der blev sørget for vi havde sæbe, håndklæder og toiletpapir. Vi var der 7 nætter. Poolen var koldt, hvilket nogle synes er dejligt at blive kølet ned af. Udsigten var fantastisk. Dog havde vi valgt det det billigste værelse, der gjorde vi lå lige op til restauranten, der var en del lyd fra om morgen. Dørene var meget tynde hvilket gjorde man kunne høre, hvis der var nogle, der snakkede sammen. Vi fik også en madpakke med til vores tur videre.

Das Zimmer hatte keine Klimaanlage und es gab vor allem im Bad extrem viel Schimmel. Aufgrund der hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit konnte man im Zimmer keine Kleidung oder Handtücher trocknen. Zwischen Wand und Dach war das Zimmer einen Spalt offen, so dass Geckos im Zimmer herumgelaufen sind und ihre Exkremente hinterlassen haben. Da das Zimmer auch direkt neben dem Restaurant lag, war es abends lange und morgens früh laut.

The view is very scenic and beautiful, but the hotel itself is old. Expect old-school room and bathroom. Sadly what it lacks in comfort and modernity, it doesn't make up with charm. The restaurant was bad (we didn't finish our plates) and while they boast about rich breakfast selection, the quality is lacking (we had so many nice breakfast in Sri Lanka, it's a shame!). Also the wifi wasn't functioning (even after staff intervention, we would connect but it was off and we resorted to using data).

The road from the street is very narrow and feels a bit like you're going to fall down the cliff. Our driver actually called to see if it was safe for him to bring us in by car. Wifi is terrible and we had to use data for two days Dinner in the restaurant isn't suggested. Expensive and we got a liquid yellow curry with a few small pieces of chicken that they tried to tell us was a masala (it very much wasn't). Breakfast was also mediocre. They did rice hoppers our second breakfast which was nice but they tasted like smoke which was odd. The road down in to Kandy is a bit of a hike and a bit dangerous as the tuk tuks use the shoulder and there are lots of blind spots. Tuks don't answer to PickMe and are expensive. It's also a long wait for them to come to the hotel so plan accordingly.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The view from the property is amazing. The staff here made our stay. Thusara and thushan were so accommodating and friendly it was sad to leave them. Also the walk into town isn’t far you can cut through over the train tracks. We had breakfast included and they have a decent variety of food. There were a couple improvements needed on the room our mattress was really average. It’s really light and you can hear everything going on down in the restaurant area. The shower works really well but the bathroom looks very tired.

Very nice hotel. The view from the pool and the balcony is the best Ive ever seen with waterfalls, mountains, valleys. The food is very delicious. The staff is very good (they even gave us and iur driver chicken sandwiches on departure day as we were leaving early before breakfast) Would recommend!

Der er et rigtig sødt personale. Der var en ganske god morgenmads buffet. Der var lidt til en hver smag både koldt og varm mad. Vores værelse var rent, og der blev sørget for vi havde sæbe, håndklæder og toiletpapir. Vi var der 7 nætter. Poolen var koldt, hvilket nogle synes er dejligt at blive kølet ned af. Udsigten var fantastisk. Dog havde vi valgt det det billigste værelse, der gjorde vi lå lige op til restauranten, der var en del lyd fra om morgen. Beautiful views of Adams peak and Ella Rock. The room was large with 4-poster beds. Staff were friendly and breakfast buffet was good. Lots of steps to the room. Highly recommend.

Wow—best view on town! When I got to the property, I felt like “I don’t even need to go hiking, this view beats anything I could hike to.” You can literally see and hear a waterfall from the balcony! Super nice staff, good food, including a particularly nice breakfast spread. A little bit of a pain to hike up there from town, but doable in 10 minutes or a very short tuktuk. Room was perfectly good. Only quibble was that the walls (even though it was clear they had been padded) were very thin.

The view is very scenic and beautiful, but the hotel itself is old. Expect old-school room and bathroom. Sadly what it lacks in comfort and modernity, it doesn't make up with charm. The restaurant was bad (we didn't finish our plates) and while they boast about rich breakfast selection, the quality is lacking (we had so many nice breakfast in Sri Lanka, it's a shame!). Also the wifi wasn't functioning (even after staff intervention, we would connect but it was off and we resorted to using data).

Vi bodde på dette hotellet 2 netter og har et helhetlig bra inntrykk. Hotellet ligger litt vanskelig til hvis du ankommer med bil. We were very pleased with our 2-day stay. Despite the older facilities, the service level was excellent. We had the pleasure of Thushanthan helping us with both directions, tips and service — and he spoke our language as well! Overall, a great place to stay for a weekend in Ella. Could use a little touch up here and there, and perhaps a broader range in the breakfast buffet, but truly a great offer for the price.

L'hôtel est incroyablement situé, juste au dessus de la voie de chemin de fer, et à 5 minutes à pied de la rue principale d'Ella (ça grimpe pour revenir par contre). The hotel has an amazing view. Staff was extremely serviceminded and helped anyway they could. Walking distance (5min) to Ella town. Downside is the road to the hotel is extremely narrow, so best to go with tuk tuk and not a car.

hotel is up the hill and transport is needed to get here from the train station. Electrical outlets in the room are not all working. Bathroom should be upgraded but a good value for the money. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Mysigt hotell med fantastisk vy. Trevlig personal, fin pool och god mat. Läget va toppen med ca 5 minuters promenad till in till stan. Rekommenderar verkligen att stanna här några nätter för att utforska Ella! Det låg uppe i bergen och hade ingen hiss, vilket kan vara bra att veta.

Pros - beautiful view, nice pool, staff were nice Cons - if you choose this hotel, asked to not be in 104. Noise from all angles; above and on both sides plus an outside light that shines in to the room. And you're on the pool and people swim outside of pool time and late in to the evening and again early. Séjour fantastique dans cet hôtel avec une vue à couper le souffle. L'hôtel est incroyablement situé, juste au dessus de la voie de chemin de fer, et à 5 minutes à pied de la rue principale d'Ella (ça grimpe pour revenir par contre). Superbe piscine, au calme et profitant de la vue. Le petit déjeuner est excellent. Les plats sont délicieux (parfois épicés, on est au Sri Lanka), ils servent aussi des cocktails, des lassi etc, et on a eu la chance d'inaugurer le stand de glaces ! Et le top du top : le personnel d'une gentillesse incroyable, un merci tout spécial à Tushara pour son accueil.

Very nice hotel. The view from the pool and the balcony is the best Ive ever seen with waterfalls, mountains, valleys. The food is very delicious. The staff is very good (they even gave us and iur driver chicken sandwiches on departure day as we were leaving early before breakfast) Would recommend!

The views were amazing, room was big and clean, there is a steep walk to the hotel but staff helped with bags, the breakfast was average, overall a nice place to stay with friendly staff and views were unreal

Mysigt hotell med fantastisk vy. Trevlig personal, fin pool och god mat. Läget va toppen med ca 5 minuters promenad till in till stan. Rekommenderar verkligen att stanna här några nätter för att utforska Ella! Det låg uppe i bergen och hade ingen hiss, vilket kan vara bra att veta.

Wow—best view on town! When I got to the property, I felt like “I don’t even need to go hiking, this view beats anything I could hike to.” You can literally see and hear a waterfall from the balcony! Super nice staff, good food, including a particularly nice breakfast spread. A little bit of a pain to hike up there from town, but doable in 10 minutes or a very short tuktuk. Room was perfectly good. Only quibble was that the walls (even though it was clear they had been padded) were very thin.

The view is very scenic and beautiful, but the hotel itself is old. Expect old-school room and bathroom. Sadly what it lacks in comfort and modernity, it doesn't make up with charm. The restaurant was bad (we didn't finish our plates) and while they boast about rich breakfast selection, the quality is lacking (we had so many nice breakfast in Sri Lanka, it's a shame!). Also the wifi wasn't functioning (even after staff intervention, we would connect but it was off and we resorted to using data).

Inaccessible property (have to pay extra to a tuk tuk to get in and out) and dated, unclean condition overall. Great views but poor service, lacklustre food and menu, and rooms are old, dirty, with poor beds and mattresses. We had to check out 1 night early to stay somewhere else, it was a poor hotel that is in desperate need updating. Definitely not the experience that we paid for, and it felt like the food menu was over priced too. Finally, a horrific smell of trash from an open rubbish dump nearby, which could be felt in most parts of the hotel.

The view from the hotel is good and there ends the positives. I am sure some of the reviews here are made up. This hotel is located on an extremely steep and dangerous road. At night, it is completely dark and feels unsafe to walk—one wrong step and you could easily fall off. It is honestly shocking that a hotel would put guests at such risk. Further road that leads to the market passes thru a smelly garbage dump. So you are breathing heavy due to the slope and taking in that smell at the same time. The staff were completely unhelpful and reluctant to assist with luggage, despite the difficult access. To make matters worse, I gave clothes for laundry and some items went missing. This shows a serious lack of professionalism and accountability. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and the coffee was outright awful. Staff behavior throughout the stay was poor and indifferent, making guests feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed. Overall, this place fails on safety, service, and basic hospitality. It feels like staying in a hostel. I will never stay here again and strongly advise others to stay away especially if you have families.
