A hidden gem next to bustly Kandy! The staff is great, always looking to please guest. They had recommended to rent a tuk-tuk for the day with a local and we enjoyed all the visits. We were also very pleased to swim in the pool after the visits. Thanks!

We celebrated New Year’s Eve here and had a wonderful 24h at this hotel. The staff is super friendly, the restaurant offers a wide variety of good food, and the whole atmosphere at the hotel is calm, inviting and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and we got an outdoor “living room” outside our room, right by the pool. We will be back if we/when we come back to Kandy

Wow this is a truly stunning boutique hotel. Our room was beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The hotel was so tranquil and steeped in history and the food we had each day was fantastic. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more.

Excellent hôtel, personnel très accueillant et très gentil, chambre très spacieuse, confortable et très jolie chambre 8. Le restaurant est excellent digne d'un semi gastronomique français et le cadre est très reposant après l'effervescence du centre ville. Je recommande les yeux fermés. Grand merci à toute l'équipe du Tarou Villas Hôtel.

Taru Villas backs onto the railway, which is absolutely charming, watching the odd train come by while eating dinner on the terrace. The joy of the place is that it's an oasis in the middle of town - don't let reviews put you off that say it's noisy as when it comes to bedtime we did not hear a thing from our room with the ceiling fan on. It's location means it's just a £3 tuktuk from all the main sights. The service is second to none, nothing is too much trouble and when arriving/returning, the GM ensured we were properly hosted throughout and we were made teas and little snacks on the house. The dinner, which was included, was delicious, but for me it was the breakfast that was standout - don't miss it! Also the rooms would work well for families with a child as each room has a day bed which converts.

Only spent one night, family of four. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the lovely staff, served tea and asked about our dinner preferences. The place is marvelous - a tranquil oasis - the weather wasn't great, but it must be even more magical when the sun is out. We relaxed in the pool and enjoyed some wine in the courtyard, which is absolutely beautiful. Dinner was amazing, and the staff very attentive to our needs and questions. Breakfast another 5-star experience, they even packed up some extra croissants for our day trip. This was a hotel to remember!

The hotel is a 200 yr old house about 5 min ride from Temple of the Tooth Relic. It’s a small gate and not very walkable around. Staff are lovely but don’t speak much English so sometimes things get confused. I did find a candy wrapper under my bed (I don’t eat candy) so not sure how great housekeeping is but our sheets, towels and robes were lovely and clean. They have an assortment of great tea in the room and the house is very comfortable.

Meget velholdt og dejligt lille hotel med kun 9 værelser. Lækker aftensmad inkluderet (det anede vi ikke før vi var der 😂), hvor man selv vælger fra et menukort. Super søde og imødekommende personale. Hotellet kan varmt anbefales.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful room, super staff and service. The food concept was amazing🙏 Only issue was a to much humidity and that room 1 was not cleared for this. Amazingly quiet staying at the hotel, with the very high trafic by the road in front of the hotel. And that the train passed the just behind the hotel. We didn’t hear a thing👏We stayed in other Taru Villa - a great hotel chain of special small hotels. Can highly recommend!!

The hotel is a 200 yr old house about 5 min ride from Temple of the Tooth Relic. It’s a small gate and not very walkable around. Staff are lovely but don’t speak much English so sometimes things get confused. I did find a candy wrapper under my bed (I don’t eat candy) so not sure how great housekeeping is but our sheets, towels and robes were lovely and clean. They have an assortment of great tea in the room and the house is very comfortable.

A hidden gem next to bustly Kandy! The staff is great, always looking to please guest. They had recommended to rent a tuk-tuk for the day with a local and we enjoyed all the visits. We were also very pleased to swim in the pool after the visits. Thanks!

This is a very nice small hotel. Room was spacious for the three of us (my husband, me and my son), comfortable bed and clean. however, this is situated on a very noisy road and also the train passes next to the hotel. nevertheless i was so tired that it was not a problem sleeping.

Excellent hôtel, personnel très accueillant et très gentil, chambre très spacieuse, confortable et très jolie chambre 8. Le restaurant est excellent digne d'un semi gastronomique français et le cadre est très reposant après l'effervescence du centre ville. Je recommande les yeux fermés. Taru Villas backs onto the railway, which is absolutely charming, watching the odd train come by while eating dinner on the terrace. The joy of the place is that it's an oasis in the middle of town - don't let reviews put you off that say it's noisy as when it comes to bedtime we did not hear a thing from our room with the ceiling fan on. It's location means it's just a £3 tuktuk from all the main sights. The service is second to none, nothing is too much trouble and when arriving/returning, the GM ensured we were properly hosted throughout and we were made teas and little snacks on the house. The dinner, which was included, was delicious, but for me it was the breakfast that was standout - don't miss it! Also the rooms would work well for families with a child as each room has a day bed which converts.

Il servizio, l’accoglienza eccellente! Prodotti per la doccia molto buoni. Il cenone di capodanno che ci hanno offerto è stato impeccabile! Rimasto senza parole non appena messo piede in questo posto. La colazione eccellente! Lo chef è davvero in gamba, i pancake erano buonissimi, ne avrei mangiati ancora di più se non fossi stato così sazio! Sono davvero dispiaciuto di non aver passato altre notti in questa struttura, merita davvero tanto!

Only spent one night, family of four. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the lovely staff, served tea and asked about our dinner preferences. The place is marvelous - a tranquil oasis - the weather wasn't great, but it must be even more magical when the sun is out. We relaxed in the pool and enjoyed some wine in the courtyard, which is absolutely beautiful. Dinner was amazing, and the staff very attentive to our needs and questions. Breakfast another 5-star experience, they even packed up some extra croissants for our day trip. This was a hotel to remember!

Meget velholdt og dejligt lille hotel med kun 9 værelser. Lækker aftensmad inkluderet (det anede vi ikke før vi var der 😂), hvor man selv vælger fra et menukort. Super søde og imødekommende personale. Hotellet kan varmt anbefales.

A wonderful and intimate stay in Kandy We had an excellent stay at Taru Villas Kandy. With only nine rooms, the property feels very intimate, peaceful, and personal, which made the experience feel especially relaxing and exclusive. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional, and they made us feel genuinely well looked after throughout our stay. Everything felt personal and well organized, and the level of service was outstanding. It was the perfect place to relax during our time in Kandy, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended.

Just an excellent, excellent stay from start to finish in this historic Colonial building. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the team really just was top notch and really cared about quality of food. The loft was a hit with the kids and the fine correction of loose tea was very much appreciated. We only stayed one night due to our itinerary, but would have loved to have stayed longer. The kids dipped their legs in the pool, but also didn't have the chance to swim due to time constraints. Will definitely be back in the future!
