Booked a king room. Got there and walked into a room with 2 twin beds that smelled cery drrongly if cigar smoke. My husband is a tall guy, so that bed situation just wasnt going to work. Went back out to the desk and they offerred us a "king suite" for no aditional charge. Catch was it was on the 2nd floor and theres no elevator. We didnt pack light because we specifically booked a 1st floor room. So that was extremely inconvienient. No microwave or extra sleeping space in "suite". There were remotes in the drawer that didnt go to anything? Pool was really cold and disapointed there was no hottub. Bed was very firm. Only stayed because it is the only hotel in town. Will probably not book here again. Its definitely not like any Grandstay weve stayed at before.

The hotel advertises a heated pool. No it is not. I checked in with my luggage and was told that my room was # 202. I asked ok, where is the elevator. No elevator. They expected me to drag my luggage up 2 flights of stairs. I was given a handicap room. Luckly I was not in a wheelchair. No handicap access to shower. No ice machines in building, but yet an ice bucket in room and vending machines were broken too.Stay away!

The property was old. It was in a remote area, with no dining options near by except for a Calder’s that was about 100 yards away but doesn’t open until 10am. Breakfast was served with only coffee option no juice, or water. It smelled dirty from the moment we walked in as if they did not clean with disinfectants. No vending machine or in hotel store to make purchases. What a missing. Staff was very nice.

Kind and helpful staff. Quiet room. Found that window had been left open by someone before we got to room. Building should be wheelchair accessible at entrance, with doors with automatic opening. We were pleasantly surprised there was small fridge in room because it was not listed as an amenity. Will be back again.

The front desk was not usually manned, so had to ring a bell for serivice. The front desk was dimly lit and not welcoming. The room was fine and comfortable; however, the shower was awful with little water for descent shower or washing hair. Skimpy breakfast bar, only waffles, cold cereal and some pastries. We ate out. Luckily we had a first floor room. No elevator or automatic front doors to facilitate moving luggage. We had no housekeeping service for our two night stay. At the price we paid we should have gotten more. This could be an excellent hotel if the deficiencies I noted were corrected. They have no competition now but a competitor would give them a run for the money.

Could use more breakfast options but what they had was sufficient. Other than that I'll definitely be back. Very quiet, clean, nice pool that's warmer than most, I liked that the housekeepers respected my do not disturb sign and didn't bother us unless we asked. I read reviews prior to staying and I'm glad I chose to check it out for myself. The only negative review I agree with, would be the breakfast needs some work (not much variety). Also would be nice to have an iron to go with the ironing board, and a microwave to heat up refrigerated things in our room (they do have a public microwave in the breakfast area that can be used after hours.) New management is doing a great job and the upgrades/renovations at this hotel are great.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a variety of times, atleast once weekly due to work and its proximity. While I’ve had decent stays there’s always something I need to address. The first time was a chirping smoke alarm that’s fix was to remove the battery not replace. No toiletries. Clumps of hair all over the shower surround, dirty toilet and mirror, bathroom was not cleaned. No toilet paper. Very loud paper thin ceilings and walls. I wish I had a better experience as the options are limited at best.

Great location, quiet and close to downtown. Very easy to get to the dells and Madison. A lot of good restaurants close by. Very friendly and helpful staff! Breakfast options were limited but all fresh and delicious. Quality over quantity was appreciated. The pool looked very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

The swing bar lock was missing from the door which I did not enjoy as I was traveling alone. There was a dirty Kleenex in the bathroom trash. My keys weren't ready and the second day they were deactivated. The floors did not seem clean. I killed at least four little ants on the bathroom floor. And it looked like it had gone through sloppy renovation.

This hotel has been updated though our room was filthy, dark, and I believe moldy. Our floor was spongy as if it was wet and rotten underneath the vinyl flooring and I was sick within a few hours of being there with respiratory symptoms. The breakfast had very limited options with a waffle maker as the only option for warm food. This definitely doesn’t meet the standard cleanliness or hospitality as most Grand Stay’s have. I would not recommend staying here.

Staff was friendly, but the rest of our stay was not great. One member of our party got locked in the bathroom and the straw had to come assist, they did not fix the handle, so we had to leave the bathroom door slightly ajar for the remainder of the stay. The shower/tub did not drain. The laminate flooring was very cold to walk on The walls had been painted at some point but there was overspray on light fixtures Lampshades had stains and tears Sink drain and counter was stained, toilet bowl had stains as well. Would choose a different place if in the area again.

Mid-August, flew into Madison airport and drove 15 minutes to hotel. Older hotel that’s been remodeled a few years ago. Late check-in was no problem. Quiet room with comfy king bed on 2nd floor. Note - there is no elevator so you haul your bags upstairs. The desk person offered to help. Room was clean. Air conditioner worked well. Breakfast needs improvement - it’s a basic continental breakfast with waffle machine. I’d stay again for the travel convenience, price and comfort.

Just a one night stay getaway. Very nice hotel. Rooms nice, bed was comfy but the pillows were not that comfy. You could hear the upstairs guests walking and their tv. I like the fact that the floors are not carpeted!! Did not go to the continental breakfast as we had other plans. Just know there is no hot tub. Would definitely stay again!

Hardy any of the outlets worked in the room. No rugs - which in winter and snow doesn’t work. Floor was wet for awhile. Shower was pleasantly nice. Ok - not sure we would stay here again.

Justin, the night staff person, was awesome, great customer service and made our stay enjoyable. There are a few repairs that are needed, but I believe it's a work in progress under new management. Breakfast could use a little expansion, eggs, biscuits and gravy - that would be nice. We will be back

We’re choose this hotel because we wanted to walk to a brewery. This hotel was excellent. It was very quiet, clean, and the staff was very nice. It was an easy walk to Octopi Brewery, which has great food and drinks.

The property was old. It was in a remote area, with no dining options near by except for a Calder’s that was about 100 yards away but doesn’t open until 10am. Breakfast was served with only coffee option no juice, or water. It smelled dirty from the moment we walked in as if they did not clean with disinfectants. No vending machine or in hotel store to make purchases. What a missing. Staff was very nice.

Great location, quiet and close to downtown. Very easy to get to the dells and Madison. A lot of good restaurants close by. Very friendly and helpful staff! Breakfast options were limited but all fresh and delicious. Quality over quantity was appreciated. The pool looked very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

This is newly remodeled hotel so everything is pretty new. The breakfast was rather lacking but it was fine. The rooms and beds are nice and clean. It's a very inexpensive decent place to stay in waunakee. I've stayed her 2x this year while visiting my mom and I'm pretty sure I'll be back.

Mid-August, flew into Madison airport and drove 15 minutes to hotel. Older hotel that’s been remodeled a few years ago. Late check-in was no problem. Quiet room with comfy king bed on 2nd floor. Note - there is no elevator so you haul your bags upstairs. The desk person offered to help. Room was clean. Air conditioner worked well. Breakfast needs improvement - it’s a basic continental breakfast with waffle machine. I’d stay again for the travel convenience, price and comfort.

Overall the hotel is good for the price. There was no elevator on property and our room was on the second floor. The breakfast was rather disappointing; options provided were cereal, bagels/donuts, waffles and yogurt. The juice dispensing machine was off (or broken...not sure) so there were bottles of juice that we could pour from. Breakfast really did lack an overall protein and so we were hungry within just a mere couple of hours.

This hotel has been updated though our room was filthy, dark, and I believe moldy. Our floor was spongy as if it was wet and rotten underneath the vinyl flooring and I was sick within a few hours of being there with respiratory symptoms. The breakfast had very limited options with a waffle maker as the only option for warm food. This definitely doesn’t meet the standard cleanliness or hospitality as most Grand Stay’s have. I would not recommend staying here.

The front desk was not usually manned, so had to ring a bell for serivice. The front desk was dimly lit and not welcoming. The room was fine and comfortable; however, the shower was awful with little water for descent shower or washing hair. Skimpy breakfast bar, only waffles, cold cereal and some pastries. We ate out. Luckily we had a first floor room. No elevator or automatic front doors to facilitate moving luggage. We had no housekeeping service for our two night stay. At the price we paid we should have gotten more. This could be an excellent hotel if the deficiencies I noted were corrected. They have no competition now but a competitor would give them a run for the money.

Very quiet, clean, nice pool that's warmer than most, I liked that the housekeepers respected my do not disturb sign and didn't bother us unless we asked. I read reviews prior to staying and I'm glad I chose to check it out for myself. The only negative review I agree with, would be the breakfast needs some work (not much variety). Also would be nice to have an iron to go with the ironing board, and a microwave to heat up refrigerated things in our room (they do have a public microwave in the breakfast area that can be used after hours.) New management is doing a great job and the upgrades/renovations at this hotel are great.
