We were quite disappointed with our stay. The bed in our bedroom was broken. Each day we were unable to get pool towels as they seemed to have 'run out' all day long. We were unable to eat at one restaurant as they were hosting a private event, we couldn't eat at another as it seemed it had to be reserved before even arriving to be able to get a booking.

Très mauvais rapport qualité prix. Chambre à rénover. 2 des 3 fenêtres de notre chambre avaient leur mécanisme de fermeture cassée. Le lavabo de la salle de bain était bouché et à garder jusqu’à la fin de notre séjour les mêmes traces de dentifrice. Les prises électriques étaient cassées et très peu nombreuses. Les rideaux ne se fermaient pas complètement, dommage quand la chambre donne sur l’entrée de l’hôtel d’à côté. Le lit n’était pas fait correctement, seul le drap du dessus était remis. La restauration est plutôt de bonne qualité, par contre le personnel n’est pas très souriant et pas très professionnel. Le dernier soir nous étions dans un restaurant à thème et sur mon gâteau glacé j’avais une magnifique en train de digital. Les extérieurs sont magnifiques et très bien entretenu dommage que les chambres ne le soient pas. Sur la plage il n’y avait pas assez de parasol (ils ont tous été emmenés suite à un ouragan, je ne remets pas en cause leur nombre), par contre il n’y avait aucune surveillance : moralité les gens se levaient à l’aube pour aller mettre des serviettes sur les transat afin de les réserver, et ne venaient que dans l’après-midi !!! Cela est inacceptable… La météo était au rendez-vous, les couchers de soleil aussi. Le cadre est magnifique. Je ne recommande pas cet hôtel, en tous les cas pas à près de 200 euros la nuit, cela ne les vaut pas !!!

Eravamo gia’ stati 3 anni fa al Bayahibe Catalonia e ci eravamo trovati benissimo con uno standard alto nella ristorazione per essere un all inclusive.La proprieta’ non ci ha avvertito al momento della prenotazione che il ristorante principale EL TAHINO era andato a fuoco e che quindi nn sarebbe stato disponibile.Hanno quindi distribuito i buffet in altei rristoranti piccoli e con buffet ridotti sia come scelta e offerta che come qualita’.Il cibo ora e’ mediocre.Lo staff dei bar e dei ristoranti e’ sempre ottimo,cordiale e sorridente(quasi tutti).Mi dispiace davvero ma qualcosa in questi 3 anni deve essere cambiato soprattutto nella gestione dei ristoranti.Prima erano presenti tante food stations in cui preparavano al momento la vera pasta italiana ora ti devi accontentare della pasta che trovi nelle vaschette del buffet molto spesso vuote!!Anche a colazione al buffet potevi avere omelettes espresse o uova strapazzate al momento.Ora le devi chiedere alla carte al ristorante dove il servizio purtroppo e’ lentissimo e la qualita’ mediocre.Mi dispiace perche’ era un posto davvero piacevole

El entorno fuera del hotel es sucio con pocos comercios y poco transporte. Dentro del hotel el mobiliario de los cuartos luce viejo, había en las habitaciones hormigas y cucarachas. En los restaurantes el servicio de los capitanes y meseros es muy cordial en lo general pero hubo 2 meseros nefastos.
El entorno fuera del hotel es sucio con pocos comercios y poco transporte. Dentro del hotel el mobiliario de los cuartos luce viejo, había en las habitaciones hormigas y cucarachas. En los restaurantes el servicio de los capitanes y meseros es muy cordial en lo general pero hubo 2 meseros nefastos.

Food was great, beach was beautiful. Resort is very clean and well maintained. The cleaning ladies were exceptional and cleaned our room every day. People that work at the restaurants, bar area and reception are very nice, but some of the security people are very, very rude. Man that works as a security at the gym was so mean to my son and husband and he was even swearing at them. Just a few people that work here speak english, and that can sometimes be a problem. Iven the guests spoke spanish, french, italian, but no english language. Adonis, the guy that works as a part of entertainment crew was incredible, so kind and with a smile on his face all the time.

This place has a beautiful beach; clear water, white sand and lots of palm trees. The property landscape is also very nice making the walk from the room to the beach area enjoyable. Food is good with dining options. Entertainment not bad either. Our only complaints would be: 1) cockroaches, we were greeted by one the moment we entered the room, it came out of the shower drain, and we would see frequently during our short stay, a huge one was wondering the hallway, the moment we walked by, it went under the door and got in one of the rooms. My wife was terrified we would bring them home so she was shaking each piece of cloth before folding them in the luggage. 2) clogged sinks and shower drain. One of the sinks was clogged when we got in so we were using only one sink and that one was also draining slowly not to mention the shower drain-your feet would soak in dirty water as you shower.

it was our first time going to an all inclusive. we loved it, it was paradise. only thing when we got to our room the first day, it wasn't ready, bathroom was dirty,but we called reception and they sent the cleaning lady right away. food is not the best, but it's ok. at least a lot of variety. most of the staff is amazing, very nice and friendly. and the place itself is really beautifull. i recomend it
it was our first time going to an all inclusive. we loved it, it was paradise. only thing when we got to our room the first day, it wasn't ready, bathroom was dirty,but we called reception and they sent the cleaning lady right away. food is not the best, but it's ok. at least a lot of variety. most of the staff is amazing, very nice and friendly. and the place itself is really beautifull. i recomend it

This is a nice property, they could use some better customer service specifically in the buffet area, also the restaurants are always empty but you need a reservation for them and it’s super hard to get one. The beach is beautiful and the pool pretty nice, best customer service attention that we had was Yerry at the pool bar he was awesome!!!! The bedroom are small but ok.

We were quite disappointed with our stay. The bed in our bedroom was broken. Each day we were unable to get pool towels as they seemed to have 'run out' all day long. We were unable to eat at one restaurant as they were hosting a private event, we couldn't eat at another as it seemed it had to be reserved before even arriving to be able to get a booking.

Hemos estado varias veces tanto en la parte de adultos como la familiar y, en esta ocasión, las habitaciones dejaban mucho que desear, Eran antiguas, no cerraba la puerta del baño, en otra habitación de la reserva grupal, no tenía ni el expendedor de champú y gel ... y no ponían nada para solucionarlo. Imposible reservar para los restaurantes a la carta en los 4 días.

Resort was okay,I suggest that if you really want to enjoy your stay at this resort, do not book the garden view or comfort rooms because the AC wont work at all, because those rooms needs to be upgraded and repaired. please avoid those rooms. Overall it was a decent resort,good food and service.

La playa sin dudas es lo mejor de Catalonia. Yo venia de 2 noches en Viva Beach y note cosas superiores en Viva que en Catalonia. Por ejemplo la modalidad para el regimen all inclusive y la variedad de comida para mi sorpresa fue superior en viva que en Catalonia. La arquitectura de Catalonia es insuperable muy hermoso. Es pequeño pero bien atendido por el personal. La habitación que nos toco (no tuvimos q cambiar 1 vez xq el baño en la ducha no tenia puerta y era vidriado) en familia no nos servia eso. Pero las habitaciones podrian mejorarlas mucho mas son poco modernas. En gral Catalonia muy bien, quiza si no hubiera tenido las noxhes antes en Viva y no pudiese comparar mi calificación a Catalonia seria 10 pero creo q 8 esta bien

Great beach with clear water. Front desk service was good and responsive. Dinning staff was awful, they did not come by to check on you if you need more water or anything else, had to hunt for them yourself. Alcohol options are terrible, the worst I have seen and we travel often. Waiters do not exist at the pool/ beach areas, if you want anything you had to get it your self. I would rate this hotel as solid 3 stars.

We have both our appreciation and our disappointment following our recent stay at Catalonia La Romana Bayahibe. This was our third visit to this resort, and we stayed for 8 nights. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our time there. We would especially like to thank Juan, the Dining Room Manager at the Taino Buffet/Restaurant, for his kindness and helpful attitude throughout our stay. His professionalism truly enhanced our experience. However, we were extremely disappointed with the behavior of one staff member, Ms. Itziar Ramirez from the Customer Service team. During an interaction involving our paperwork, she was rude, unprofessional, and unnecessarily confrontational. Rather than assisting us in resolving a simple issue related to our passport information, she escalated the situation by using intimidating language and even threatened to call security and the police. At no point did she attempt to de-escalate the situation or offer constructive support. Her attitude made us feel frustrated, uncomfortable, and ultimately unwelcome. Fortunately, after we requested to speak with her manager, Yana, the issue was resolved promptly and professionally. We are grateful for Yana’s assistance and calm handling of the m

Food was great, beach was beautiful. Resort is very clean and well maintained. The cleaning ladies were exceptional and cleaned our room every day. People that work at the restaurants, bar area and reception are very nice, but some of the security people are very, very rude. Man that works as a security at the gym was so mean to my son and husband and he was even swearing at them. Just a few people that work here speak english, and that can sometimes be a problem. Iven the guests spoke spanish, french, italian, but no english language. Adonis, the guy that works as a part of entertainment crew was incredible, so kind and with a smile on his face all the time.

We had only one but big problem and disappointment, related to daily service/cleaning person visiting: We were spending time on beach till 6 pm, then 1 hour and 30 minutes in the our room: 6:30 - 8 PM, then evening program, out of room: Restaurant, Show, Dancing till 12 AM. But the cleaning/service woman came for that to our room always at 7 PM, and therefore have completely destroyed our vacation evening time: The period 6:30 PM - 8 PM (1 hour and 30 minutes) was the very busy for us- being in room, after the beach naked (without dressing) we p[planned for Shower, restroom, change to evening dressing for restaurant and start to go to a restaurant at 8 PM. So, any service person visit during this time was very unlikely for us (I was naked man in shower, we really needed to use restroom and so on). Attempt to explain that to Service/cleaning p[person the several time was unsuccessful - we speaks English, she speaks Spanish only. 3 calls to reception desk and talk to English speaking person also was unsuccessful - she promised to move these visits after 8 PM, but it still continue to be 7 PM and continue to destroy our vacation. As we see the service persons have not been trained at all: 1. We must not see them at all - they must come when we are out the room. 2. They never must come to room during 1 hour and 30 minutes period 6:30 PM - 8 PM. 3. We must be able to spend time with me and my wife only in the room, without any 3rd person, like service cleaning.

El entorno fuera del hotel es sucio con pocos comercios y poco transporte. Dentro del hotel el mobiliario de los cuartos luce viejo, había en las habitaciones hormigas y cucarachas. En los restaurantes el servicio de los capitanes y meseros es muy cordial en lo general pero hubo 2 meseros nefastos.

This place has a beautiful beach; clear water, white sand and lots of palm trees. The property landscape is also very nice making the walk from the room to the beach area enjoyable. Food is good with dining options. Entertainment not bad either. Our only complaints would be: 1) cockroaches, we were greeted by one the moment we entered the room, it came out of the shower drain, and we would see frequently during our short stay, a huge one was wondering the hallway, the moment we walked by, it went under the door and got in one of the rooms. My wife was terrified we would bring them home so she was shaking each piece of cloth before folding them in the luggage. 2) clogged sinks and shower drain. One of the sinks was clogged when we got in so we were using only one sink and that one was also draining slowly not to mention the shower drain-your feet would soak in dirty water as you shower.

Très bel hôtel, très bonne situation , très belle plage . Personnel charmant, compétant, souriant ,attentionné. Service impeccable. Très bon séjour. Tableau assombri par le centre de plongée et d’excursion indépendant de l ‘hôtel situé sur la plage. Du matériel en mauvais état, des excursions hors de prix à Saôna , un bateau bondé, on vous amène faire du snorkling sur les sites les plus fréquentés , …pas un poisson !! Un ancien ponton en béton en train de tomber en ruine , avec des tiges en acier rouillées sur lesquels les vagues vous ramènent , aucune visibilité des algues partout. Bref le site certainement le moins beau et le plus dangereux de toute l’ile de Saona. Quant au repas sur la plage c’est l’endroit le plus fréquenté de l’ile où tous les bateaux accostent, un repas infect, une plage bondée….. Plusieurs dizaines de bateaux autour de vous qui déversent leurs clients… Alors qu’a qq minutes de bateau supplémentaire vous pouvez être sur des plages quasi déserte et faire du snorkling dans des sites magnifiques ,mais le centre hébergé par l’hôtel choisi la facilité au mépris de ses clients… Bref pour 99 $ on vous amène aux endroits les plus fréquentés , les moins poissonneux et surtout les plus rentable pour eux … Si toutefois vous aviez la mauvaise idée d’acheter une excursion chez eux ,ne payez surtout rien à l’avance car ils ne pratiquent aucun remboursement si vous décidez le jour J de ne pas faire votre excursion ou votre plongée.

Overall property is nice. Beautiful gardens, pool, nice food. Big plase of this hotel its how close it is to Saona island. If you are a beach person you gonna be disappointed, although beach doesn't have seewead, has clear water its small and very crowded. I traveled all over caribbean and that was the most crowded beach I've seen, way too many people, doesn't have island feel.
Overall property is nice. Beautiful gardens, pool, nice food. Big plase of this hotel its how close it is to Saona island. If you are a beach person you gonna be disappointed, although beach doesn't have seewead, has clear water its small and very crowded. Food was great, beach was beautiful. Resort is very clean and well maintained. The cleaning ladies were exceptional and cleaned our room every day. People that work at the restaurants, bar area and reception are very nice, but some of the security people are very, very rude. Man that works as a security at the gym was so mean to my son and husband and he was even swearing at them. Just a few people that work here speak english, and that can sometimes be a problem. This is a nice property, they could use some better customer service specifically in the buffet area, also the restaurants are always empty but you need a reservation for them and it’s super hard to get one. The beach is beautiful and the pool pretty nice, best customer service attention that we had was Yerry at the pool bar he was awesome!!!! The bedroom are small but ok.

Good hotel, amazing beach ,food was ok ,buffet had good variation but the a la carte restaurants werent great. Personal was lovely and worked really hard. Drinks cheap, but they were ok . Would have like the chance to pay maybe a little extra to have nice drinks. Kids loved the pool. We were "privileged " but the bunk beds weren't very safe so we shared the big double beds with the kids, no biggie. Room service didn't work at all, tried 3 times ,3 times failed. Entertainers work hard, although twerking competition by the pool in the afternoon didn't think it was child friendly, still my kids found hilarious and love the night shows too. In general I think it was good value for money, but the beach and the staff which works so hard is what they make the hotel.

The property needed some work, the food and drinks weren’t good enough for the money spent. The upgrade we paid extra for wasn’t valuable. The room was comparable to a standard hotel room and many things needed fixing. None of the staff spoke English which made it difficult for us. Our son got food poisoning and we couldn’t drink the water. The positive thing was the beach/water were beautiful and the staff were very nice.

Resort was okay,I suggest that if you really want to enjoy your stay at this resort, do not book the garden view or comfort rooms because the AC wont work at all, because those rooms needs to be upgraded and repaired. please avoid those rooms. Overall it was a decent resort,good food and service.

Eravamo gia’ stati 3 anni fa al Bayahibe Catalonia e ci eravamo trovati benissimo con uno standard alto nella ristorazione per essere un all inclusive.La proprieta’ non ci ha avvertito al momento della prenotazione che il ristorante principale EL TAHINO era andato a fuoco e che quindi nn sarebbe stato disponibile.Hanno quindi distribuito i buffet in altei rristoranti piccoli e con buffet ridotti sia come scelta e offerta che come qualita’.Il cibo ora e’ mediocre.Lo staff dei bar e dei ristoranti e’ sempre ottimo,cordiale e sorridente(quasi tutti).Mi dispiace davvero ma qualcosa in questi 3 anni deve essere cambiato soprattutto nella gestione dei ristoranti.Prima erano presenti tante food stations in cui preparavano al momento la vera pasta italiana ora ti devi accontentare della pasta che trovi nelle vaschette del buffet molto spesso vuote!!Anche a colazione al buffet potevi avere omelettes espresse o uova strapazzate al momento.Ora le devi chiedere alla carte al ristorante dove il servizio purtroppo e’ lentissimo e la qualita’ mediocre.Mi dispiace perche’ era un posto davvero piacevole

I had a great time with family and friends. I have something to share that I saw with my own eyes. The buffet cook, who was responsable for grilling the meats and chicken, was using the same tong to grab the raw meat and serve cooked meat to customers. He was about to that to me and, because I told him not to use the same utensil, he grabbed a spatula and served the cooked chicken. If that situation is happening in front of people, who knows what procedures they implement inside the kitchen. We’re back home and I have food poisoning. I shouldn’t have trusted the food I consumed. I suggest you have better training and food safety protocols & procedures for anyone handling or serving food. It’s a family hotel and lots of children and elderly (most vulnerable population) visit each year.

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding my recent experience with Arajet due to excessive flight delays, misleading communication, poor customer service, and unreasonable additional charges during our travel from Santo Domingo to Miami (MIA). Our flight was delayed for more than 6 hours with very little communication provided to passengers. The delay was not properly announced at the airport, and the airline website failed to clearly show the actual flight status, creating confusion and uncertainty for passengers and family members monitoring the flight. Arajet emailed only some passengers stating the flight would depart at 8 PM; however, the plane actually left after 9 PM, and we finally arrived in Miami after 11 PM. During the delay, even airline staff appeared frustrated and unable to explain the real reason for the delay. Many passengers became upset and uncomfortable due to the lack of transparency and communication. No food vouchers, accommodations, compensation, or meaningful assistance were offered despite the long delay. Additionally, Arajet charged $95 per passenger for personal items for all 6 passengers in my reservation, resulting in hundreds of dollars in unexpected fees. These charges were not clearly disclosed during booking. I was informed these fees could have been paid online at a discounted rate; however, despite the long delay, I was never given the opportunity to do so. I would go back to this hotel many times over. Above and beyond customer service in every capacity. The staff were so friendly! The hotel was laid out very well with many photo opts . The beaches were pristine and very safe. The entertainment was fantastic. This place was quiet and not too busy good for a quieter individual. Lovely. Lovely!!!
