If you're looking for a comfy bed and a/c in a good location then you can't go wrong with The Howard. Beds are comfy, a/c works brilliantly, shower has a good pressure, and there's a fridge int he room. Its a perfect base for getting out and exploring, with bus-stops nearby. Its also a 15min walk from Sliema Ferries for trips to Gozo/Comino/Valetta/Three Cities. Its a 5min walk from the nearest beach, and there's literally dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are a wealth of local knowledge - make sure you quiz them on local hotspots. Breakfast is simple but hot and tasty, and general room cleanliness is good.

Room itself was let down slightly by poorly fitted gaps around door / minimal soundproofing (could be fixed with a door seal), but overall greatly appreciated the quality of hotel and daily towel housekeeping.

The room resembled a prison cell, with small windows overlooking the back of the building, where the air conditioning and other equipment are located, and covered in immense amounts of dust. The room didn't seem clean; the bathroom had slimy, mouldy areas, and the towels and bed linens had probably been whitened a few years ago. And this is what they call a "standard" room.

A hotel személyzete rendkívül kedves és segítőkész. A szoba egyszerűen berendezett, a célnak megfelelő. A takarítás rendben volt, tisztaság volt mindenhol. A hotel elhelyezkedése kiváló. Három percre a tenger, fürdési és úszási lehetőséggel. A buszmegállók szintén nagyon közel vannak, könnyen eljuthatunk velük a sziget további részeire. A hotel környéke részben lakóházas övezet, ezért csendes. Ott sétálgatatni hangulatos.
A hotel személyzete rendkívül kedves és segítőkész. A szoba egyszerűen berendezett, a célnak megfelelő. A takarítás rendben volt, tisztaság volt mindenhol. A hotel elhelyezkedése kiváló. Három percre a tenger, fürdési és úszási lehetőséggel. A buszmegállók szintén nagyon közel vannak, könnyen eljuthatunk velük a sziget további részeire. A hotel környéke részben lakóházas övezet, ezért csendes. Ott sétálgatatni hangulatos.

Come Italiani devo dire che forse abbiamo degli standard un po' più altini. Si presenta come un "hotel" ma di hotel non ha nulla, non c'è un frigobar in camera, abbiamo alloggiato per 5 giorni e 4 notti e la camera non è stata rifatta una sola volta, pulizia molto basica. Finestra inulite perché affacciava letteralmente in un buco, siamo stati H24 con l'aria condizionata a palla. Il penultimo giorno, come gli altri, non ci era stato fatto nemmeno il letto e mancavano delle asciugamani, l'abbiamo riferito in reception che prontamente ci ha fornito le asciugamani ma per la mancanza di pulizia e servizio alla camera non ha fatto nemmeno un cenno. Purtroppo devo dire, ottima zona,sliema e stupenda e l'hotel è a 2 passi dal lungomare, ma se dovessi ritornare non andrei più in questa struttura. Una nota positiva I receptionist. Tutti carini, super disponibili e cordiali.

A lovely place to stay. Arrived late but the instructions about out-of-hours access to the room were both accurate and easy to follow. The newly refurbished room was extremely clean and comfortable, although generally the sound-proofing was inadequate - no problem for me but potentially troublesome for sober guests or those sensitive to church bells, chirpy European visitors and even chirpier construction workers. Breakfast was pleasant but a smidgeon over-priced; meanwhile the location was handy as well as conveniently serviced by local Bolt and Uber drivers. All the staff were super friendly - which seems to be a genetic trait of most if not all Maltese people. Overall, terrific value for money and highly recommended by this reviewer!

Single use rooms need to be improved. The walls are to thin and having not having a bathroom inside the room is really not convenient. Also, the bed frame, matteras and pillow were probably the worst I had in my whole life.

Overall a nice hotel but was noisy as could hear doors slamming alot and cleaners talking in the hallway early in the mornings. Be aware of using the wi fi as my email was hacked and the only wifi i used was at the hotel. Could be a coincidence but be careful.

Despite checking three times that the hotel was aware of my request for vegan options, I only had cucumber, sweetcorn, tomatoes, lettuce and whole fruit available to me. They seemed reluctant to provide any vegan bread and took persuading to provide vegan milk. This aside, staff were extremely friendly from the outset, the room was very pleasant but sandwiched two single beds to form an awkward double the was pressed against the full length mirror, preventing its full use. We appreciated the bottles of free water restocked each time the room was cleaned. Overall, we would really recommend this hotel - it's on walking distance to shops, shopping malls, transport links in abundance, short walk to St Julian's and plenty of amazing restaurants in Sliema and surrounding areas. All of these amenities are within 5-30 min walks and so close to the harbour that you can see it from the hotel entrance just a very short 5 mins walk away. A great location off the main road and, therefore, very quiet. We felt extremely safe walking about at night in the area. Lidl only a 10min walk away. The hotel is very modern and pleasant inside.

Si presenta come un "hotel" ma di hotel non ha nulla, non c'è un frigobar in camera, abbiamo alloggiato per 5 giorni e 4 notti e la camera non è stata rifatta una sola volta, pulizia molto basica. Finestra inulite perché affacciava letteralmente in un buco, siamo stati H24 con l'aria condizionata a palla. Il penultimo giorno, come gli altri, non ci era stato fatto nemmeno il letto e mancavano delle asciugamani, l'abbiamo riferito in reception che prontamente ci ha fornito le asciugamani ma per la mancanza di pulizia e servizio alla camera non ha fatto nemmeno un cenno. Purtroppo devo dire, ottima zona,sliema e stupenda e l'hotel è a 2 passi dal lungomare, ma se dovessi ritornare non andrei più in questa struttura. Una nota positiva I receptionist. Tutti carini, super disponibili e cordiali.

If you're looking for a comfy bed and a/c in a good location then you can't go wrong with The Howard. Beds are comfy, a/c works brilliantly, shower has a good pressure, and there's a fridge int he room. Its a perfect base for getting out and exploring, with bus-stops nearby. Its also a 15min walk from Sliema Ferries for trips to Gozo/Comino/Valetta/Three Cities. Its a 5min walk from the nearest beach, and there's literally dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are a wealth of local knowledge - make sure you quiz them on local hotspots. Breakfast is simple but hot and tasty, and general room cleanliness is good.

Despite checking three times that the hotel was aware of my request for vegan options, I only had cucumber, sweetcorn, tomatoes, lettuce and whole fruit available to me. They seemed reluctant to provide any vegan bread and took persuading to provide vegan milk. This aside, staff were extremely friendly from the outset, the room was very pleasant but sandwiched two single beds to form an awkward double the was pressed against the full length mirror, preventing its full use. We appreciated the bottles of free water restocked each time the room was cleaned. Overall, we would really recommend this hotel - it's on walking distance to shops, shopping malls, transport links in abundance, short walk to St Julian's and plenty of amazing restaurants in Sliema and surrounding areas. A lovely place to stay. Arrived late but the instructions about out-of-hours access to the room were both accurate and easy to follow. The newly refurbished room was extremely clean and comfortable, although generally the sound-proofing was inadequate - no problem for me but potentially troublesome for sober guests or those sensitive to church bells, chirpy European visitors and even chirpier construction workers. Breakfast was pleasant but a smidgeon over-priced; meanwhile the location was handy as well as conveniently serviced by local Bolt and Uber drivers. All the staff were super friendly - which seems to be a genetic trait of most if not all Maltese people. Overall, terrific value for money and highly recommended by this reviewer!

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The receptionist, Benjamin, did not welcome us on arrival and was immediately rude. After a long flight and being awake for 24 hours, we arrived at 11am and were already checked in, yet he refused to let us wait in the reception area. When we asked where we could stay until 3pm, he dismissed us, rudely told us there was “nothing to do in Sliema,” and showed us the way out. This behaviour was unprofessional and his attitude was disgusting. When we asked for our room number, he claimed he didn’t know. We left the hotel without keys or any information about the room. The manager, Kate, was defensive and dismissive when we raised concerns on same day. Things became worse when we returned. The room did not have a private bathroom as advertised. Instead, the bathroom was outside in a communal corridor, dirty, with worn-out towels and used dirty pillowcases that were not replaced despite complaints. We were told there were no clean replacements available. The bathroom and room had insects, and hygiene was extremely poor. The hotel refused to change or upgrade our room, claiming nothing was available, even though rooms were shown as available online. Breakfast was also unhygienic, with flies around uncovered food and often no coffee. This hotel provides misleading information during reservations about amenities, it was misrepresented, extremely unhygienic, and staffed by rude, dismissive employees. I strongly advise avoiding it.

The staff were so lovely and friendly. Daily change of towels which was very useful. The breakfast was really good and filling as well. It was so close to St. Julian's. Overall loved it and if I go Malta again I will definitely consider staying here again! Also no sound from the busy streets which is a major bonus in Malta in such a busy area!
