Liberty Mountain Lodging by Vail Resorts

Not-so-good of a stay at Liberty Mtn Resort. The outdoor pool was closed our first day there and was very cold and dirty on the second day. The jacuzzi wasn't working at the indoor pool area. We were really looking forward to watching the fireworks on the mountain, but that ended up not happening.

Good solid stay. Missed having an elevator in the Alpine Lodge and caught them in a parking lot sealing which forced us to park in another lot, but the parking lot was open by the time we left. Good breakfast! Wish we had had more time to try what looked to be a very nice golf course.

This is a hidden gem for a quiet summer stay. Everyone was very friendly, our room was clean and spacious, the bed and linens extremely comfortable and the shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. Although no microwave in the room, there is one available. The mini fridge, coffee maker and little basket of snacks in both the room and lobby were nice. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked delicious and the cocktails and mocktails we had in the bar area were perfect! The golf course and grounds are beautiful! Our disappointments were minor and only related to the pools. We picked this location for the pools and hot tub. Upon arrival we learned the indoor pool and hot tub are closed for an extended period of time. It would be nice if that were noted on the website but we were given a discount as this was one of our main reasons for staying. The outdoor pool is very large with lots of seating. Both days we were there the pool had to be closed due to storms in the area. That is understandable our disappointment came when it wasn't reopened once the lightning threat had passed as there were a couple hours left to enjoy it. The website also said our room would have a patio or balcony which it didn't. It was an ADA room so this might be why. We look forward to going back with a group of friends in the fall for a weekend of golf, relaxation and leaf peeping.

People were great. Hot tub too cold and lots of kids. Pool too cold. Showers not hot enough. Sauna not hot enough. Towels were like sand paper. Probably won’t be back

Received a notification that the pool was closed 10 days before our reservation and did not get any compensation. Kids had nothing to do

The hotels don’t have elevators, They upgraded the rooms but need elevators for older guests like me with health issuse

Everything you need for a family getaway for skiing/ snowboarding and tubing. The rooms were outdated and the pool was overcrowded with rambunctious kids. The paint was chipping in the pool area.

Nice and clean! Didn’t realize our beds were full size, upgraded to queen with no problems. Inside pool needs resurfacing and jacuzzi. Food and service was very good!

We had a wonderful week at the Liberty Mountain Resort. Staff were all so friendly and accommodating from the get-go. Room was clean and had a nice balcony to sit with our morning coffee facing the mountain. We enjoyed walking the property in the evenings and strolling around the pond and courtyard area. Parking was available right in front of our building for ease going in and out as we left for day activities. The food at Eagle and Owl on the property was excellent. We hit one small snag during our stay where the TV connection wasn’t working for a couple nights, but the staff went above and beyond to come out immediately and take a look- when they realized it was an issue with Comcast and not just our room, they called right away to get someone out, and gave us free breakfast vouchers just for the inconvenience- Honestly could not have handled it better. We were also very happy with the pool- it was quiet, relaxing, and had a great seating area for just lounging or laying out which was also right next to the mountain for nice views.

We were there off season (chilly summer days) in the old Alpine building. We chose Liberty for the indoor pool, which was too cold and in poor shape with a musty smell, peeling wall finishings, and rusty hardware. The hot tub was too hot for preschoolers and we did not see any controls to turn it off (safety?). Towels were nice. Room showers were roll-in and water ran out of the shower space. In my daughter’s room, the floor sloped so the water flowed out of the bathroom. The purchased breakfast was a buffet and good. The desk staff was professional, but provided conflicting info in the evening. The morning front desk attendant was pleasant, knowledgeable, and took it upon herself to weeding out the incorrect, outdated paperwork we received at check-in regarding reservations needed for the restaurant. There is very limited choice of delivery food in the area, and the Arby’s order was missing several items and lacking in quality.

The pool had a peculiar sulphur smell. The gym and hotel smelled like cigarettes and cigars. Seems as though the air system pulled air from smoking areas. Hotel was clean but dated with weird smells.

The hotel is very clean and quiet, personal is very kind. In my next trip I will stay here again. Thank you for your good service.

Very clean friendly staff

Staff was very awesome! Everything was super clean, They even offered to carry our luggage upstairs.

When we first arrived, we found a lot of food crumbs and a long hair in the sheets. Went to front desk who saw it himself and brought us clean sheets. We had to change the sheets ourselves. The guy was friendly. Then told us we could get a 10% discount which we were ok with. However they charged an additional $62.07 TWICE on the same day they gave a $65 refund. Ive called over 8 days and every time the manager is in a meeting or not there. Was told they would call back but never did. Also the ski resort has a few safety issues. I fell off a step that wobbles. And then noticed other steps with wood add-ons. I prefer if they just replaced it. The other thing was that their instructors have a ton of small kids and adults that crowd the path of the skiers that come down. SOme litlle kid could be killed one day. Its the training ski route. I dont understand why they cant move those people to the other side where no one comes down the moutain. There are sooo many people blocking the path and people have fallen trying to avoid each other. I spoke to two instructors and they just didnt care about moving to the other side which is only 50 feet away and out of the way of the skiers that come down the mountain. & the conveyor belt seems to stop abruptly from time to time causing some people to lose their balance and even fall. the operator told me that there is a loose piece at the end that sometimes bends and causes the belt to stop abruptly & he just restarts

The room was very clean and well kept. The staff was so kind and efficient. Everyone seemed to genuinely care.

Hotel room was clean and updated. The kids enjoyed the pool. The views were beautiful throughout the grounds. Enjoyed the breakfast which had lots of hot and cold options.

Kathy checked me in, she was AMAZING!! It is so refreshing to meet someone that actually cares about people. I have stayed here a couple times before. My son goes to school at Mount St Marys. I was willing to pay a little extra, because of the view, it's quiet, clean and comes with a lovely breakfast and i love the pool. This year i showed up. No more breakfast, they don't clean your room unless you request and for extended stays they charge you an extra $25 a day, the pool was closed and my bathroom was full of mold in the shower and between the glass tiles. Light bulbs were out and it just felt a little run down. It was really disappointing. But Kathy for sure was the ray of sunshine in my stay. Hopefully they can get away from the corporate penny pinching, and back to what made them a destination you look forward to ..

Beautiful location, easy drive to Gettysburg, clean rooms, housekeeping upon request instead of daily, complimentary breakfast.

This is a perfect getaway. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We had a large well appointed room that had a spectacular view of the mountains. Very enjoyable and will be back again.

Our stay was good. The staff was great. The grounds are pretty. Parking was easy and lots of space. We didn't have chairs on our balcony so that was weird. The room was pretty average. Could use some updates.

Extremely convenient. Nice bathroom. Only downside was music outside at ski area starting a little early in the am.

The place was very dated. From the outside it looked fabulous but on the inside it was in bad need of update. The shower was so tiny one could hardly fit in it without touching the sides of it. The shower head was in a fixed position of shooting water up my nose. And then the door to the shared balcony had no bolt lock or door knob lock. It had something at the top that kind of worked but if someone wanted to Get in they could. The balcony wash shared with all of the other ones.

Went here for just a quick weekend retreat from the city. The staff was all very nice and helpful to answer any questions I had. The wifi wasn't working, but it was because of the recent Microsoft thing, so I know there wasn't anything they could do about that. Also, our key card was VERY finicky. We had to go back to the front desk 3 times to remagnetize it and we were being so careful. But they are available 24/7 and it really was not a big deal. The included buffet breakfast was great. Just be prepared to have some cash for a tip because they do bring drinks to the tables for you and clear up your used plates. Overall, it was a great place for a weekend trip and central to a lot of historic sites.

Love staying here, the staff was very friendly, Arooms are clean and the Mt view is spectacular. Will definitely stay here in April when I return to this area.

Employees were not aware of the resort schedules around the facility or resort. In addition of "zero" introduction of the facility. Meaning that you need to ask about where is breakfast, where is this place, etc. Other hotel I stayed on the past provide an complete upfront information about the hotel. Needed to go over different building and I received different information. It is an Ski/Snowboard Resort so people are expected to enjoy the mountain, but the Resort network was not working. Therefore, it is hard to communicate with people around the facility because mobile reception was not the best. The network issue was broad-up but they stated that they cannot do anything about it.

Very nice resort, great and kind staff! Place beautifully in the mountains On negatives, a bit worn down: our AC died so we had to move rooms and the hot tub in the pool is not hot at all

My niece became sick during our stay and Kathy at the front desk was one of the sweetest humans I have ever met. She was so helpful and accommodating.

Took 20 minutes to check in with 1 person in line. Room was semi clean, and its obvious this location needs a better food and beverage manager. Great views though.

Iv ecome here for years but the lack of interest when issues occur is inreasonable for coet. Electricity went out just aftrr we arrived for the entire evening and night. Not efen emergency lighting where needed or comminication. No mention of any credit no concern via text call or even note.

The resort is really beautiful and tucked into a valley surrounded by mountains. Our family stayed here, and we were especially impressed with the service. From the reception area to the restaurant, everyone was extremely friendly.

Came for New Year’s Eve, last minute family trip. Kathy was so very accommodating, friendly and helpful with our reservations.

I would highly recommend this property in the future. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Kathy at the front desk recommended a delicious restaurant for us to try and Linda in housekeeping was very helpful and prompt when we asked for new towels and cups. This is a wonderful hidden resort near Gettysburg.

This was a resort property located in a rural area. The facility was amazing, however there not alot of general stores or gas stations close.

Great location and beautiful property!

The property was clean, quiet, out of the way. But it was still close to Gettysburg, being only a few minutes drive away. The staff was excellent. Everyone was very kind and went above and beyond to see our needs were met.

Liberty Mountain Resort provided an excellent get-away within a reasonable (1.5hr) driving distance from Washington, DC.

Great stay. Quiet and good spot for Gettysburg bike week.

We had a nice stay. It was the off season, so pretty quiet. The Alpine Lodge room was decent. The staff were all very nice. Close to Gettysburg!

Wonderful resort on a quiet hillside. Can’t wait to go back!

We absolutely love this place! We have stayed here several times, always outside of skiing season. We love sitting out at the fire pit at night enjoying the weather and other guests that come out to unwind. The golf course is absolutely beautiful as well. The staff is very accomodating and responsive, and the resataurant is very nice, whether it is for the breakfast buffet, or for drinks and sports on tv at night.

Overall stay was pleasant. I was disappointed that the jacuzzi’s hot water was emptied out and i was told it wasn’t working when we were in it just the night before until 11 pm. To arrive the next morning just several hours later was frustrating. The spa needs to reopen as well ! The restaurant food was great but the kitchen closes too early. Room signs are misleading. Room 247 is not down the back hallway.

Everything was very accessible and clean. The dining was excellent and tasty.

Hands down, the best place I've stayed in. The friendliest staff and a beautiful environment. The complementary breakfast was the best. This was a sit down order from a menu full breakfast from the resort restaurant, not like any other place that just offers limited stuff that you serve yourself. Truly a resort that I would highly recommend.

Beautiful setting, clean and well-maintained property and room, helpful staff. Two small criticisms: We were on the 2nd floor of the Alpine Lodge which seems to have no elevator. That fact should be clearly stated up front. My wife has some knee issues which make navigating stairs challenging. Second, we had breakfast late in the morning and some of the food items obviously had been sitting out for awhile (e.g., eggs were dry).

We had a fantastic stay here. The property was beautiful and well taken care of. The 1br room we booked was just what we needed. Extra room to relax. The staff was very good especially the staff for breakfast. Friendly and efficient. The pool are was one of the best we ever experienced.

Very peaceful location with an awesome and well maintained golf course. Out of some food and beverage items, but overall, a great stay. Id go back.
