We enjoyed our time here. Our days were spent outside the blistering heat at the Moonshine Festival, Greenwood Saloon, shopping and finally cooling off at Blackie's. The amenities made it easy to come back to cook steaks and play games we brought with the family.

The property and hosts were amazing!! Waking up to gorgeous sunrises on the lanai while sipping your morning coffee in the quite. Horses quietly snickering in the backround. Yep, heaven!!! The hosts were wonderful, they got a new mare and 3 day old foal while we were there. When we got back from our adventures Melissa, the host, asked if the kids would like to meet them. My 2 children 9 & 4 were over the moon. The pups were super sweet too.

If you love all things western then you will love this place! Apartment has a very cozy, comfortable feel. I loved sitting on the porch watching the sun come up and horses graze in the pasture. It was a perfect place to get away for a few days!

This is a nice country quiet location, easy to get to the Dinosaur State Park. The girls turned the monopoly game into a shopping game versus what the original design was made. All the basics to make coffee and wash clothes. Fast internet, I was impressed with the bridge satellite to connect to the main house. Lots of crickets during our stay.

Very quiet and comfortable. I loved sitting outside and hearing the roosters crow, the donkey hee-hawing and the goats baaing. I didn’t need much, but, noticed that all basics are provided.

It is a little bit of aways to Glen Rose on the back roads . That's fine turn up the music roll the windows down and enjoy the ride ! This place was amazing the property was very well maintained clean and nice and quite ! Now Buddy the puppy he is a mess but is definitely the Ranch mascot ! Hide your shoes inside don't kick them off at the door though he likes to run off with them lol the horses loved the attention and we loved them ! So peaceful! Only bad review is beds are very uncomfortable hard as a rock !! The hey still get 5 stars ! Kitchen was fully stocked grill on patio was all so nice !

This place was amazing. Just what our group of ladies needed for a get-away from the hussel & bussel of life. Enjoyed the quite in the country surroundings. Buddy (the dog) was so friendly. Enjoyed all the animals. Close enough to jot into town for eating & shopping & enjoying the festival that was going on in Grandbury & Glen rose. The place was exceptional----clean, cozy, warming, everything you would want. Will most definately be back & suggested to several friends & family already.

My parents stayed here. My mom broke her hip 6 weeks ago and came down for her sons wedding. This place had no stairs and worked perfect for her since she was still in a walker. Unique place with all the great rustic decor, quiet, and clean. They really enjoyed their stay.

While we were not at the property much, the time we did spend there was fantastic! The location is far enough away from the hustle of the bigger cities, but close enough to many things to do. The property is stunning - it was incredible to watch the sunrise out the back door & experience all of the critters starting their day! The owners thought of everything inside & we felt most welcome, during our stay!

Unfortunately, we were sick by the time we checked in, so we didn’t get to do the things we’d hoped to do while in Tolar. But the apartment was the perfect place to power down, sleep, and walk around the farm when we felt up to it. My husband did get outside on 2 nights to do some astrophotography, but that was about it. We both loved the rustic, horsey decor and we hope to visit again.

Took a quick trip w the teens to Dinosaur Valley SP and Glen Rose. This was a nice, clean and quiet place to stay. The girls felt comfortable and safe. They enjoyed the cowboy theme and got to meet the horses, goats, chickens and turkeys. Thank you!

The property is beautiful. It is out in the middle of nowhere but close enough to everything. A nice retreat after a busy day. The stars shine so bright at night. The farm animals were a hit with the kids. My daughter is still talking about the farm dog, Buddy. I think she would have liked to smuggle him home in her suitcase.

We only stayed one Saturday night but it was wonderful. We spent the day in Granbury hanging out with my son and girlfriend who both attend Tarleton in Stephenville. Made it out to the ranch and enjoyed the quiet surroundings which we thoroughly enjoyed along with the animals. Also met Melissa and her husband and enjoyed chatting with them for a few minutes. Seemed like great "salt of the earth" folks and enjoyed the chat! Would have love to have stayed longer and may in the future. Highly recommend staying here if you love the country and peace and quiet and still being close to town. Thanks!

Pros: Farm setting with goats, sheep, horses, chickens, farm dogs, quite delightful and relaxing! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch watching the Great Pyrenees herd the sheep in the neighbors pasture until the sun just got too warm. Comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, separate from the main house allowing for privacy. Well stocked kitchen, even had fresh farm eggs in the frig for us to prepare. Never found matches for bug candle, but brought it to the owners attention when leaving. They allow you to book for 1 night, which was key for us and they don't charge out the wazoo for service fee and cleaning. We never met the owners, but they responded quickly to our text when we had a question. Cons: The floor between the kitchen and living room are uneven, slight step up and you have a step up to the bathroom. There is only a table for 2 and a couple barstools, so 4 people wouldn't be able to sit down to a table to play games or have a meal. None of these were really an issue for us. We just adjusted to the accommodations. Overall, very nice!

This place was the perfectly quaint and peaceful place to land after a day full of adventure. It was tidy, cozy and literally a home-away-from-home. The owners were so kind and indulged my kids in letting them help with the horses and hear stories about ranching. This is definitely the place to stay if you're looking for a nice laidback place to relax.

Perfect place for our stay. Was much more rural than we expected and quite challenging to navigate very late at night. If we hadn’t had Google maps we never would have found it. Thoroughly enjoyed all the animals… donkeys, horses, new baby goat, but most especially the very sweet Aussie, Buddy. Would stay again for sure.

This is a nice country quiet location, easy to get to the Dinosaur State Park. The girls turned the monopoly game into a shopping game versus what the original design was made. All the basics to make coffee and wash clothes. Fast internet, I was impressed with the bridge satellite to connect to the main house. Lots of crickets during our stay.

The property is beautiful. It is out in the middle of nowhere but close enough to everything. A nice retreat after a busy day. The stars shine so bright at night. The farm animals were a hit with the kids. My daughter is still talking about the farm dog, Buddy. I think she would have liked to smuggle him home in her suitcase.

This place was amazing. Just what our group of ladies needed for a get-away from the hussel & bussel of life. Enjoyed the quite in the country surroundings. Buddy (the dog) was so friendly. Enjoyed all the animals. Close enough to jot into town for eating & shopping & enjoying the festival that was going on in Grandbury & Glen rose. The place was exceptional----clean, cozy, warming, everything you would want. Will most definately be back & suggested to several friends & family already.

We enjoyed our time here. Our days were spent outside the blistering heat at the Moonshine Festival, Greenwood Saloon, shopping and finally cooling off at Blackie's. The amenities made it easy to come back to cook steaks and play games we brought with the family.

Pros: Farm setting with goats, sheep, horses, chickens, farm dogs, quite delightful and relaxing! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch watching the Great Pyrenees herd the sheep in the neighbors pasture until the sun just got too warm. Comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, separate from the main house allowing for privacy. Well stocked kitchen, even had fresh farm eggs in the frig for us to prepare. Never found matches for bug candle, but brought it to the owners attention when leaving. They allow you to book for 1 night, which was key for us and they don't charge out the wazoo for service fee and cleaning. We never met the owners, but they responded quickly to our text when we had a question. Cons: The floor between the kitchen and living room are uneven, slight step up and you have a step up to the bathroom. There is only a table for 2 and a couple barstools, so 4 people wouldn't be able to sit down to a table to play games or have a meal. None of these were really an issue for us. We just adjusted to the accommodations. Overall, very nice!

While we were not at the property much, the time we did spend there was fantastic! The location is far enough away from the hustle of the bigger cities, but close enough to many things to do. The property is stunning - it was incredible to watch the sunrise out the back door & experience all of the critters starting their day! The owners thought of everything inside & we felt most welcome, during our stay!

Perfect home away from home! Everything was exactly as stated online. The apartment had everything we needed, was spotless, roomie and cozy with comfortable beds. The location is beautiful with the sweetest animals. We loved getting to pet them all. We will definitely be booking stays here again.

Very quiet and comfortable. I loved sitting outside and hearing the roosters crow, the donkey hee-hawing and the goats baaing. I didn’t need much, but, noticed that all basics are provided.

It is a little bit of aways to Glen Rose on the back roads . That's fine turn up the music roll the windows down and enjoy the ride ! This place was amazing the property was very well maintained clean and nice and quite ! Now Buddy the puppy he is a mess but is definitely the Ranch mascot ! Hide your shoes inside don't kick them off at the door though he likes to run off with them lol the horses loved the attention and we loved them ! So peaceful! Only bad review is beds are very uncomfortable hard as a rock !! The hey still get 5 stars ! Kitchen was fully stocked grill on patio was all so nice !

We absolutely hated to leave this property! The "barn" apartment was decorated so well for the overall theme and was so comfortable. The location was perfect for all of the activities we had planned and was easy to find. The animals were all so friendly (horses, donkey, goats, dogs, barn cat) so we spent a lot of time visiting and petting them. The kitchen had everything you could ask for if you plan on cooking. Our rooms/beds were comfortable with good size closets. Both bedrooms and the family room all had tv's if you're planning on watching a movie. We definitely plan on returning!
