Lake Martin Retreat – Stunning Views, Heated Pool & Private Beach

The location in Stillwater is great. As a novice boater, the private dock was very helpful.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this location. Loved the balcony overlooking the lake and having our own boat dock was convenient.

We were headed to Auburn, and this was a great location. It was so easy to rent a boat right at the private dock. The pier and pool were beautiful. The unit was as pictured, and the property manager was responsive and helpful. We hope to be back.

Overall, this was an excellent choice for us. It is a great location, the house is cute, and it fit our needs nicely. We loved the lake and the fact that it is in a gated community. Just a few things that could have been better: the TV's in the bedrooms did not work properly. One didn't work at all, and the one in the master we could not change the channels. There were a couple broken chairs on the deck, and it listed 2 kayaks with the property that were not there. There were not many bath towels and very little hand soap. Also only one kitchen towel. Being a little less stingy on these things would make the experience better. However, all in all, our experience was great and if we come back to the area, would rent again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The seasonally heated pool evidently did not mean December. I was a little disappointed, but my husband told me so. lol There are no steps to climb, which is great! 2 Recliners which were awesome. Spacious. I would suggest some lamps for the living area. We loved our stay there!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! Everything about it was great. The little beach was perfect for laying out, the pool was great and warm (trip in early April) the lake was great and also not too cold to enjoy! I loved the two balconies. Having the paddle boards and kayaks available right next to the water was perfect, There was so much to do and enjoy! We would definitely go back!!

Condo not ready for guest. Toilets ran constantly, tub had dirt, trash come out of jets when in use. That was awful and scared us. 2 tv’s did not work. Fireplace did not work. Outside grills did not work. Disappointed, never had so many I as this beautiful place before.

We love staying at this property. It's our favorite Spring Break spot, and we end up coming back at least once or twice more each year. The pool and beach are amazing. We love cooking on the blackstone and enjoying the amazing sunsets. Can't wait for next time!

Great location, beautiful dock, was very peaceful during the week

We spent 5 nights here. The best part about our stay was having a waterfront property with great access to the lake and a boat slip. The back deck is in excellent condition. The neighbors are extremely friendly and helpful - they helped us secure a restaurant reservation at a place they highly recommended in Opelika. The living room/dining room is comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The oven needs cleaning, and the whisk and can opener are broken however. The property itself needs some work. The main bedroom has a queen size bed with a very old pillowtop mattress that sags. It is very uncomfortable. The front entrance needs to have the debris and moss scrubbed off, and I suggest ant treatment on the outside of the property near the kitchen. Although we were very good about keeping the countertops clean and free of food, we had a daily visit from the ants. It's the south, so I get that they are difficult to control from time to time. The small trash bin outside might be some of the cause of that...it needs emptying more often to keep the trash bags in the bin rather than piled outside of it, especially if you spend more than a weekend at this property. The Stillwaters community is very nice. We did rent a boat and very much enjoyed The Landing restaurant nearby. We highly recommend going there. Overall, I wish we could say that we would return, but it did not meet our expectations based on previous reviews.

We just concluded an incredible week staying at this beautiful home, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the cozy atmosphere and stunning views of the lake. The wildlife and birds around the area added to the charm, making it a truly magical setting for our small family getaway. Having had the opportunity to experience many VRBO homes—ranging from the most luxurious to those that shouldn’t even be listed as rentals—we can confidently say this one is a gem. It strikes a perfect balance between comfort and charm, making it an ideal choice for a small families looking to create lasting memories. While we rated our stay highly across the board, we did give a 4 out of 5 for cleanliness. Although the home was generally well-maintained, we noticed a few areas that could have used a little more attention, which is why we held back on a perfect score. Overall, this is a beautiful and cozy home that we will definitely consider returning to in the future Thank you for sharing your lovely retreat with us!

Frank and Nick are fantastic to work with, very responsive and even had a boat available for us while we were there checking out the lake. We had a wonderful time and would stay with them again. With that said, condo is showing its age. It could use some new paint and a thorough cleaning. We like to cook and had to wash some dishes before using. However, this particular condo would not keep us from coming back - Enjoyable stay.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and it was nice to have access to the water. One review we read said the paddle board and kayak weren’t there, but we found them in the drainage area under the porch and although they aren’t brand new condition, we were able to use them so that was nice. Overall, we were pleased and I would recommend it for a nice relaxing weekend at the lake.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Poplar Point. The unit was clean and comfortable and located close to the spots we like to hit when we’re at the lake. The pontoon boat rental was convenient as well. Overall, great stay!

The setting is gorgeous and the porch on the water is unparalleled! I don't usually give bad reviews and generally try to keep an open mind. However the unit, especially the bathrooms are outdated and in need of some TLC. In addition the unit smelled musty. These are all things that can be corrected easily and without spending too much (shower curtains were grimy and gross). The lock on the front door does not work properly, which made getting in and out of the unit a hassle. In addition the property manager was completely unresponsive. I emailed before our arrival, I texted and I send messages via the app and got no response. This is very unprofessional. I have been renting and staying in VRBO rentals for a long time and I had never had this issue. The beautiful location and the amazing porch definitely saved the day!!

Property manager was helpful to our questions, we will definitely come back. Only negative was leaves were all over deck & stairs leading down to lake which was dangerous, needed to be blown off.

Great location with beautiful view of lake and great looking area (outside). The actual condo needs some updating. Sliding screens on patio are off the tracks and bathrooms need updated (cracked tile, chipped/old paint, old jacuzzi tub/shower combo). Would suggest new, more comfy patio furniture.

However the unit, especially the bathrooms are outdated and in need of some TLC. In addition the unit smelled musty. These are all things that can be corrected easily and without spending too much (shower curtains were grimy and gross). The lock on the front door does not work properly, which made getting in and out of the unit a hassle. In addition the property manager was completely unresponsive. I emailed before our arrival, I texted and I send messages via the app and got no response. This is very unprofessional. I have been renting and staying in VRBO rentals for a long time and I had never had this issue. The beautiful location and the amazing porch definitely saved the day!!

We came to Lake Martin to visit the lake and to attend the Auburn football game. The game did not go our way but our stay was wonderful. The condo is decorated nice and the porch overlooking the lake made for an amazing place for morning coffee.

The outside was lovely and restful. The inside was pretty outdated, especially the showers. In addition, the front door keypad did not work.

Very quiet and peaceful location. Host was responsive to issue with air condition. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful Neighborhood. Great Property. Clean. Short girls trip. Perfect for a small group. Back deck was probably our favorite place besides the lake itself. Lots of dust from carpenter bees above, on the deck we swept but it continued, but did not hinder our relaxation. Woke up to the refrigerator being out and our food spoiled, (no fault of anyone's) however the property manager was easy to contact, and they sent someone out before the end of the day. Super nice repairman extremely apologetic. Bless our hearts we had to eat at NIFFERS (Highly recommend as well) Beds slept great and bathrooms were stocked with ample wash cloths and towels. Needless to say, they, (owners and manager) also made the issue with the refrigerator (losing our food) right. I would definitely recommend any property Nick manages. and I would definitely recommend this property for a family or small group. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR TIME HERE and we are already planning the trip back in the fall.

We loved our stay at Poplar Point. It’s located in a gated community with a golf course and restaurant, Copper’s that we went to one night. The villa/townhouse has a wonderful view of the lake that we took full advantage of for morning coffee and later cocktails So peaceful! I didn’t want to leave! We stayed here the weekend we moved our daughter out of her dorm at AU. It’s about a 40 minute drive to Auburn. The beds are comfy and the kitchen has what you need for a weekend stay. The neighbors are friendly too. Wish we could have stayed longer to use the lake. Staying here makes me want a house/condo on a lake!
