Great property and super nice! Staff was incredibly friendly and and amazing experience overall. Only missed 1 start because they don’t have a lot of night life & the pool on the resort ground closes at 6:00pm. It’s nice that the hot springs is open until 10:00pm.

Tabacón is an incredible resort! The springs is much larger than you would expect, with many beautiful parts to find privacy and relaxation. The drinks are incredible and views are even better. We indulged in a couples volcanic mud massage- and it was the best massage ever! The spa is beautiful, peaceful and worth it! One thing to consider is that it is a 20minute ride to town, so you are pretty much committed to eating at the resort- which is not cheap. Each drink is $15 and meals are $20 . The breakfast options are a buffet at $35 a person or room service- which is about $20 . (Summer 2024) The food was amazing, but we were definitely expecting some cheaper options before we arrived.

We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, and the Tabacón Team took it from there. After a long journey in, we arrived at an enthusiastic Bell Staff that quickly had us unloaded and onto a golf cart to whisk us away to our room. The entire welcoming process set a marvelous tone for the next few days. Every interaction with each staff member left us with a memorable impression. The profession of hospitality is not lost here. The restaurants are well-staffed, and the food is excellent. Breakfast each morning was a treat of Costa Rican and other international flavors. Try it all. The Spa team was the best we have experienced on any continent. Their technique, rapport, and amenities are not to be missed. We treated ourselves to the couples massage that was followed by our own personal hot tub. The property is immaculate and well-maintained. You are the very edge of the forest, where you can witness all manner of flora and fauna. We were so impressed that we will be bringing all 12 of us next time. Thank you.

Tabacón is a fantastic spa experience with natural hot spring pool of various temperature and sizes. It is truly one of a kind and we hope to return there soon. It is a “must visit” stop for those visiting Costa Rica.

Staff was very kind, and room was very clean abd comfortable. Only thing uncomfortable is if want to go hot spring, use shuttle to get there but shuttle was operation every 2-3 minutes.

The gold standard for what hotels should be. Our stay at Tabacon was flawless. The staff is very friendly. The facilities are excellent. Our room was nice and spacious with a great view. And last but not least, the thermal pools, absolutely amazing. My wife and I cannot stop telling our friends and family how amazing Tabacon is and we recommend it to everyone.

Amazing amazing amazing! The people and the grounds! Nice smelling rooms . Nice beds, furniture. The best and top class thermal Hot Springs. The way the springs were laid out across the grounds. Having the transportation included to get to the Springs. All the workers were so nice and friendly! If I were rich, I will keep coming back every month. Thanks to hotel.com.I was able to get a good price even though still pricey but also worth it!

Hot springs and Shangri La for hotel guests only was GREAT. Shuttle running from hotel lobby to the hot springs was super convenient. The nice comfy Spa robes were a BIG Hit as well. Being able to wear them the more casual restaurant at the Hot Springs was nice and convenient.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa during our stay from September 30th to October 2nd. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how beautifully the resort blends into its lush natural surroundings. The thermal springs were absolutely stunning, crystal clear, surrounded by vibrant greenery, and perfectly maintained. Relaxing in the warm pools while listening to the sounds of nature was truly unforgettable. The stepped waterfalls and tropical landscaping made it feel like a private paradise. Everything was so serene, and we loved exploring the different pools, each with its own temperature and atmosphere. Our room was elegant, modern, and very comfortable. The wooden furnishings and nature-inspired decor created a warm, relaxing environment that fit perfectly with the resort’s natural beauty. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the attention to detail in both design and cleanliness. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Overall, our experience at Tabacón was beyond our expectations, a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and nature. not friendly at all, we had a really bad experience with not expert staff in Tabacon resort hotel maximum is 3 star hotel You don’t feel welcome and we saw Insects and cockroach in our room and call the room service and front desk they didn’t do anything!!!

From beginning to end the quality of service was exceptional! The staff was attentive, and eager to meet our every request. The room was spacious and clean. The property was emaculantly kept. The menu choices were broad and the food was delicious! The hot springs were amazing! Quiet and manicured. They have an area set aside for hotel guests. The location is perfect, a few minutes from la fortuna and most major attractions in the area. The roads all had fresh pavement so access to and from the hotel was not a problem. Signage on the road system is terrible so GPS is recommended.

The King suite was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was beautiful and a remote location. The thermal spas were very relaxing. Lots of activities to do nearby. Definitely recommend for couples.

Amazing hot spring. Tabacon hot spring is like on an out of this world level. We had renovated rooms and Arenal volcano with its perfect cone is right outside our windows. Uber to closest town La Fortuna is about US$ 3-7 per way. The town has lots of restaurants and souvenir shops. Los Toucanes on premise has excellent food if one prefer to dine in.

from the moment that we arrived at the resort, it was beautiful. Everything was perfect. We did go in high rain season and to be honest the rains didn't even affect us beautiful comfortable room. We traveled with our 11-year-old daughter and had so much fun she wanted to keep the robe that they left in the room. That's how much she loved it. you will not be disappointed in this location or resort.

Very disappointed with the lack of service from the property manager who refused to credit our resort package when we were unable to enter the country due to missing documentation. On April 19th we arrived to Costa Rica only to be sent right back. We never arrived at the resort, and have documentation form the airport proving we weren’t able to enter the country, but the resort manager decided to keep our money anyways. We lost a vacation and $3200. Very shady way of doing business.

The staff here is truly outstanding every single person I encountered was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make me feel at home. What really stood out to me was how they all remembered my name, which added such a personal touch. Special thanks to Keylor and Oscar, who went out of their way to make the stay extra memorable. The resort itself is breathtaking. The natural hot springs are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, with several pools to choose from each offering a different vibe, from peaceful and relaxing to more lively and social. The grounds are lush and beautifully maintained, and the location couldn’t be more perfect, tucked right in the rainforest with incredible views of Arenal Volcano. My room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, with all the details perfectly on point. The little touches made a big difference, and the comfort level was topnotch. I also loved that they offer complimentary valet service, which makes everything effortless. Overall, this place is pure paradise. It combines luxury, nature, and genuine hospitality in a way that very few resorts manage to do. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, and the Tabacón Team took it from there. After a long journey in, we arrived at an enthusiastic Bell Staff that quickly had us unloaded and onto a golf cart to whisk us away to our room. The entire welcoming process set a marvelous tone for the next few days. Every interaction with each staff member left us with a memorable impression. The profession of hospitality is not lost here. The restaurants are well-staffed, and the food is excellent. Breakfast each morning was a treat of Costa Rican and other international flavors. Try it all. The Spa team was the best we have experienced on any continent. Their technique, rapport, and amenities are not to be missed. We treated ourselves to the couples massage that was followed by our own personal hot tub. The property is immaculate and well-maintained. You are the very edge of the forest, where you can witness all manner of flora and fauna. We were so impressed that we will be bringing all 12 of us next time. Thank you.

My wife and I loved our stay here. They surprised us with an upgrade to a beautiful suite which just blew us away! The food at both restaurants was fantastic and all of the staff were friendly and helpful 100% of the time. The gardens and pools were crystal clean and inviting. We have traveled from Maui, Europe, Belize, the Caribbean, Phuket, and this was by far our favorite vacation. We cannot recommend this resort strongly enough. If you are even considering going, do yourself a favor and book it.

The gold standard for what hotels should be. Our stay at Tabacon was flawless. The staff is very friendly. The facilities are excellent. Our room was nice and spacious with a great view. And last but not least, the thermal pools, absolutely amazing. My wife and I cannot stop telling our friends and family how amazing Tabacon is and we recommend it to everyone.

Save your money. I stayed several places in La Fortuna and this one is not worth the money. Room isn't as described, staff was not helpful and actually act as though you're a bother, food just OK, etc. Seriously, this is the worse place I stayed in La Fortuna.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa during our stay from September 30th to October 2nd. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how beautifully the resort blends into its lush natural surroundings. The thermal springs were absolutely stunning, crystal clear, surrounded by vibrant greenery, and perfectly maintained. Relaxing in the warm pools while listening to the sounds of nature was truly unforgettable. The stepped waterfalls and tropical landscaping made it feel like a private paradise. Everything was so serene, and we loved exploring the different pools, each with its own temperature and atmosphere. Our room was elegant, modern, and very comfortable. The wooden furnishings and nature-inspired decor created a warm, relaxing environment that fit perfectly with the resort’s natural beauty. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the attention to detail in both design and cleanliness. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Overall, our experience at Tabacón was beyond our expectations, a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and nature. Very nice hotel , we were welcomed with a welcome drink and taken to our room in a golf cart . Everything was perfect the only thing I wish we knew is that the springs are at a different location and you need to take a quick 3 minutes shuttle ride to them. The restaurant was delicious I would really recommend

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Arenal. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food and drinks were excellent as well. The hot springs were beautiful and amazing. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were sad to leave.

From beginning to end the quality of service was exceptional! The staff was attentive, and eager to meet our every request. The room was spacious and clean. The property was emaculantly kept. The menu choices were broad and the food was delicious! The hot springs were amazing! Quiet and manicured. They have an area set aside for hotel guests. The location is perfect, a few minutes from la fortuna and most major attractions in the area. The roads all had fresh pavement so access to and from the hotel was not a problem. Signage on the road system is terrible so GPS is recommended.

Had an excellent stay here in November for our honeymoon. Check in was friendly and we were greeted with cool towels and a cold drink which was lovely after a long drive. The hotel has incredible value with thermal spa. Our room was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning at the on site restaurant, one thing I will note is that there were not a lot of vegan options for breakfast and the espresso machine did not have a non dairy option. However, the servers were very accommodating and made me a separate coffee and got me avocado so I could make avocado toast which was very nice. We also really enjoyed having dinner at the restaurant at the thermal spa and the cocktails at the thermal spa were incredible as well. Overall, incredible hotel, we can’t wait to return one day!

Hot springs are the highlight. Restaurant is great for breakfast. Not so much for the dinner. They try to create visually appealing dishes and somewhat succeed, but fall short in flavor. Add to that the cost similar to eating out in New York City and it will make no sense. There are plenty of restaurants in the town. It's safe to drive at night. Lots of people out. Very lively.

Tabacón is an incredible resort! The springs is much larger than you would expect, with many beautiful parts to find privacy and relaxation. The drinks are incredible and views are even better. We indulged in a couples volcanic mud massage- and it was the best massage ever! The spa is beautiful, peaceful and worth it! One thing to consider is that it is a 20minute ride to town, so you are pretty much committed to eating at the resort- which is not cheap. Each drink is $15 and meals are $20 . The breakfast options are a buffet at $35 a person or room service- which is about $20 . (Summer 2024) The food was amazing, but we were definitely expecting some cheaper options before we arrived.

We stayed at Tabacón to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for our entire family. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. We were welcomed with delicious drinks at check-in and escorted to our room, where we found bathrobes prepared for the whole family—including our two-year-old daughter. We thought this was such a thoughtful and caring touch. The complimentary shuttle service to and from the hot springs was incredibly convenient, allowing us to enjoy the thermal river at our own pace. The hot springs themselves were absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. The breakfast was outstanding, and every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and attentive. This was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our vacation, and we highly recommend Tabacón to anyone visiting the Arenal area. We would love to return someday!

The thermal was amazing very well maintained. My only complaint was my room had a terrible mold smell . I didn’t complain at first but then I had headaches they sent somebody to fix but then the smell got worse the next day they offered me another room but I was about to leave next morning didn’t make any sense. The price that I paid I did not excepted that to happened
