We had the unfortunate honor of being 6th floor guests of the hotel when the elevator lost service. We only stayed overnight (in town for Bonnie Raitt) so our trek up and down the stairs six or seven times was inconvenient but not a deal breaker. The staff was apologetic and very helpful in trying to make the best of an inconvenient situation. We would stay there again - really like the accommodations, convenience, walk ability of the area, and downtown in general.

The staff was all wonderful, the property was historically amazing, the room was spotless and trendy, the offerings on the floor (coffees, sparkling and still waters, pre-packed bags of ice) were appreciated, the rooftop coffee and breakfast delicious - all this + great location in downtown Asheville! Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing restored hotel that transports you back to the time of Art Deco! It’s centrally located making it easy to walk for dining, shopping and entertainment. Check-in was easy and the staff are so friendly! The beds are comfortable and I give the pillows a solid B! The rooms are nicely appointed with plenty of bedside outlets and USBs. There’s even a small ledge built-in on each bedside table to place your items that are charging. There are robes, slippers, a safe, a garment steamer, small closet (with the cutes wallpapered accent wall), cushioned bench, small chair, luggage rack, and writing desk. The bathroom was big with a street view window for loads of natural light. I love a window in the bathroom! The toiletries are nice and there were plenty of towels. There are drink stations in the middle of each floor with coffee, tea, water and ice. This was such a nice feature! The on-site restaurant looks incredible. We didn’t try it this time, but will for sure on our next visit. The street below is a bit noisy as in any downtown area, so be sure to take a sound machine or an app on your phone to muffle sounds while sleeping. Overall, we loved this place and will absolutely stay again!

Coffee and tea service were in a nook in the hall. There were bags of ice there also. No room service. Restaurant reservations fill up fast. Walkable streets to many places to shop and eat. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

It was so so. Nothing spectacular. No workout room, no coffee in the room, staff was unknowledgeable about shops around the downtown area. It was clean and quiet. Probably would find another place if we go back to Asheville. Thank you!

8 story Hotel with one elevator, which was broken when we went to dinner at 6:00pm. Still broken at 9:45. Was offered a few chocolates. Staying on the 6th Floor which required a 6 flight walk. Otherwise hotel was very nice with great staff.

What a great hotel! They did an incredible job of rehabbing this wonderful flat iron building. It's like stepping back in time when you enter. The valet and front desk clerk were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Due to the shape of the building, our room was a bit on the smaller side but was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We were only here for 1 night, but we got to enjoy the rooftop bar, the restaurant and the Speakeasy downstairs. We had the lemon pizza and it was delicious. The location is fantastic. It's walkable to all the downtown attractions, stores and restaurants. Would 100% recommend. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Asheville.

We stayed at the Flat Iron to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and our experience was impeccable. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel itself was spotless and beautifully decorated, with much of its history still reserved, but with some modern touches. We loved the Luminosa restaurant, Red Ribbon Society speakeasy, and the rooftop. The location of the hotel is in the heart of downtown, and convenient to shopping areas. 10/10 recommend staying here if you’re visiting downtown Asheville and looking to stay somewhere special.

First time at this property + definitely not our last. The staff are superb. They go above + beyond and are so pleasant. Great location & so many restaurants nearby. The room is regular size - perfect for 1 or 2 people. The water pressure is amazing. We enjoyed the rooftop bar - fantastic drinks & views. Only comments…the bed is somewhat firm but not uncomfortable. There isn’t a refrigerator but there is a beverage room on each floor that has bags of ice. There’s only one elevator which can take a few minutes.

I love staying here. This time was a little noisier than last time and we had trouble sleeping. I would like to know if they have a bigger room if I go back. Our adult kids went and we couldn’t socialize in our room due to it being so small. Overall I would go back.

Everything was wonderful. Everyone who worked at the hotel were very friendly. They welcomed us with a glass of champagne. They were able to answer all of our questions such as the closest pharmacist and recommended a hike. The rooms were nice, but the pillows were slightly uncomfortable and we had trouble sleeping.

The Flat Iron Hotel is absolutely lovely! The problem both my husband and I had was the bed. The bed is EXTRA FIRM. If you like that, it is golden. But if you don't, your night will be miserable, as ours was. We thought with such a nice hotel, sleeping would be fabulous, too. I haven't ever slept on a bed in any hotel that was like sleeping on a board. The best looks great, but in reality is too HARD. Just FYI.

The Staff was amazing. Every interaction felt like the Ritz. Front desk accommodated an early check in (called to confirm). Used the valet service and the gents brought luggage up and down with a smile and courteous conversation. Nice feature, you text when you want you car brought up and ready - luggage too. Nice shared beverage bar on each floor with sparkling, cold and hot water and a nice selection of items to make your favorite. Such a well placed hotel walking to many notable restaurants. High marks for dinner at "The Market Place, love "Chestnut" (always good). Don't have time for the get out in the mountains for a proper hike, I highly suggest a Nature Bathing stroll at the Ashville Botanical Gardens a few minutes from town. Either before or after get a beverage or snack at Liberty House Coffee and Café - so good and a nice garden to boot. First time at the Flat Iron and will be back from it through back charm and decoration. Rooftop views, speakeasy in the basement and did I mention the amazing and friendly staff. Spoil yourself and enjoy the Flat Iron.

This may be my favorite hotel experience. The property itself is beautiful! It is in the heart of everything we wanted to do. The location can’t be beat. What made it our favorite though, was the people. Every single staff member was so pleasant. They all seemed happy to be there, and genuinely friendly. Checking in with Eilish and Bella - I swear I would want these ladies as my friends if I lived there!! Then, we opted for valet parking with Sam and Malachi, who were both so personable. We felt at home and cared for. We will absolutely be back!!!!

Checking in with Eilish and Bella - I swear I would want these ladies as my friends if I lived there!! Then, we opted for valet parking with Sam and Malachi, who were both so personable. The room was clean. The location is great as well near small shops and plenty of cafés and restaurants. The gentleman at the front desk perhaps could use help. It was often without anyone, and frankly he got my stay messed up. He understood at check in that I had reserved 2 nights even though they were made separately. He was able to leave us in the same room however the room was not made and when asked he suggested it was my fault for making 2 reservations. The ladies at the front desk were very amiable. Not having someone present at the front desk is not good. Also, checking on the guests that go to the rooftop might be wise. I overheard some expressing the desire to jump up and down while I was in it. Clearly there were some very young intoxicated guests.

We wanted a hotel in downtown Asheville and we knew the Flat Iron had been recently opened, so we chose it. A great decision because the property was very nice. The old office building vibe was unique and the location was perfect for walking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And Luminosa, the onsite restaurant was amazing. If you like a quaint and unique take on boutique hotels, the Flat Iron is a hit.

This hotel has an excellent location in the middle of downtown Asheville, NC. There are excellent restaurants in all directions to choose from. We liked the top floor with several outdoor seating areas and a 360 view of the city. There is a small breakfast venue and evening bar up there also. We had breakfast each of the four nights we stayed at this hotel. Hotel was converted from a former business block and was well done with everything a visitor to the city would require (except an indoor pool). We were here for a family wedding and would stay here again. Many thanks!

What a great hotel! They did an incredible job of rehabbing this wonderful flat iron building. It's like stepping back in time when you enter. The valet and front desk clerk were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Due to the shape of the building, our room was a bit on the smaller side but was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We were only here for 1 night, but we got to enjoy the rooftop bar, the restaurant and the Speakeasy downstairs. We had the lemon pizza and it was delicious. The location is fantastic. It's walkable to all the downtown attractions, stores and restaurants. Would 100% recommend. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Asheville.

We stayed on New Year’s Day. The restaurant was closed both in Eve and next morning. There were options close bye. My only complaint is they charge $150 for having a pet. For “cleaning fee”.

The hotel was cool. The rooftop was really nice too. I was disappointed that I had to leave the hotel premises in the morning to get a decent cup of coffee and a bite to eat. There was zero food available for breakfast and it was cold and rainy outside. Big bummer.

Beautiful property! Excellent customer service! Only drawback was the food in Luminosa. We were sat on time, ordered a bottle of champagne, no apps, then martinis. Then we ordered dinner, pork chops. An hour and a half later they arrived, cold. I had left the table earlier. Food was taken to go and we threw it out. The manager Sarah did comp us, but still dissatisfied.

Gorgeous sexy hotel - 1920’s vibe, super clean, convenient to shopping & dining in Ashvillebut above all staff is super nice. Andrew is super nice - helped us with all our luggage & parking on a rainy day & Nate is spectacular- super nice - helped us with dining reservation s at Luminoso (beautiful restaurant- excellent gourmet food) and is very informative about the perks of the hotel - I can’t wait to come back!

Check in was quick and easy and there were several great parking options. The hotel lobby gives off an old school, luxury vibe. The Room was incredibly comfortable including Air Conditioning which worked perfectly, a very comfy bed, solid black out blinds, nice drinkware, robes, nice towels, botanical toiletries and excellent water pressure. I had an over the top experience at the hotel restaurant on an unsuspecting Monday night. The Service was impeccable, with my server providing some of the most wonderful descriptions of the menu items that I have ever heard in my life. Ace was an amazing server. I was blown away by the Quality of the overall dining experience. The Chefs even sent out a few special little treats. The experience was made special by the exquisitely thoughtful and creative rotating menu items—the food speaks for itself and is a perfect match for the absolutely wonderful ambiance and atmosphere that the serving team creates for their diners. Of course, the cocktails are great as well. There was a wonderful coffee and tea station with ice on each floor in addition to fresh coffee in the Lobby. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the area for a night or for a longer vacation. Easy access and truly wonderful and welcoming people who work here.

Great hotel lots of history. Homeless and street musicians hang out near the hotel. Loud racing cars rev up and run up and down the streets are annoying. Most restaurants and shops close at 8:00 or 9:00. Gotta have a reservation if you want to eat nearby. Rooftop restaurant not worth it. Poor, no service and a very limited menu. We ordered pizza and they delivered it in a to go box. Disappointing.

A lovely experience in downtown Asheville. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. The only thing I would say is there’s not really a good lobby area -. It’s on the second floor and kind of ordinary. But it overall was a lovely time.

While the property itself is beautifully done--with thoughtful fixtures and an artful appearance--along with an ideal location within steps of restaurants and shops--the service and staff are in need of improvement. After driving 7.5 hours and arriving right at check in time (4pm), I was told my room wasn't yet ready. The staff suggested I walk around and come back in awhile. I asked if the hotel could text when my room was ready. They agreed and took my details. An hour later--now 5pm--I returned the hotel even though I hadn't received a text. My room had "just become ready." Had all of this been delivered with explanation or apology, I would be totally fine--these things happen--but instead the front desk seemed confused why I was less than thrilled. It wasn't a good first impression--especially for a bespoke boutique hotel.
