Comfort Inn & Suites near Route 66

Elevator was out and computer glitched made checking in take 30 min. Decent area near everything. I’ll stay again and have before. This trip wasn’t ideal but it’s best choice in this town. The competition is sub par and alternative is a Hampton that is $80 more. So as a business traveler I pay for my own bookings so price is a factor. Breakfast is adequate. Super 8 is less money but no breakfast which when 2 are traveling buying breakfast makes the costs the same.

Easy access from the interstate & good parking. Fast food close by. Clean rooms & friendly staff. The elevator broke down, the hair dryer didn't work, & the phone in the room didn't call the front desk. They did get the elevator running in one day & brought a replacement hair dryer quickly. The pool is FREEZING cold & the hot tub had no water in it. Over all the room was clean & comfortable.

Wish they would have fixed their hot tub instead of filling it in with concrete 😥

Overall, a decent stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff. The pool was out of service upon check-in, but they had made arrangements with another hotel for the use of their pool.

While our stay was ok, it is time for some updated to the building. The elevator didnt work, old carpet everywhere, and older finishes in the bathroom are just a few examples. Check in process was quick and the staff was very nice and helpful.

Hot tub/spa was not in operation and no water in exercise room.

Our room was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast eas very good for a continental breakfast. Hallways needed cleaning. We were looking foward to soaking in the hot tub only to find put it was cemented in

Skip the breakfast. They were out of eggs and sausage and kept saying both "were in the warmer and will be ready soon" but still nothing. And had dry cereal as "we won't have milk until tomorrow". I can understand running out of some things, but they know how many people are staying so seemed very unprepared. No towels in the pool and definitely needed some things repaired (broken shower at the pool, leaking roof in the foyer, our room's hair dryer ripped off the wall). I'll say though the staff were all nice to us and rooms were clean, there was just a lot of maintenance needed.

Great stay for the money. Good service. Facilities were adequate - rooms and hotel were clean. Only complaint: pool area was hot and not refreshing after a day in the heat at soccer tourney.

The people and property are nice, however, they have a serious ant problem. I stayed there for two nights and when I came back to my room the first morning tiny ants covered the desk. I went to the front desk and was given a bottle of Windex to use. “It kills them on contact” the housekeeper said. She was right and I proceeded to wipe up hundreds of them. They even got into my daily medication box which was a pain to clean. I was offered another room, but the front desk clerk said I may encounter more ants since they have been having this problem for a while. “We’ve been working with Orkin.” Well I’d say get a refund! It would have been nice if they had given me a discount on my room, but that required manager approval.

Staff nice and friendly. Room carpet dirty. Very musty smell in room. Had to purchase air freshener. Bed was comfortable. Needs update.

Very loud guests until 10:30 pm loud music, singing, howling and big stomping noises above my room. Pillow I had smelled like urine Something yellow on the bathroom door handle and the back of the room door.the bathtub was dirty also.

The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, when we brought it up to the staff we were only given a spray. The room itself was filthy, the mirror was all smudged, there was a bow on the floor from the previous guest, the towel in the bathroom had been cut in half and was unraveling, the couch had stains on it, and to top it off THERE WERE BED BUGS!! We addressed this with the front desk worker, who honestly could not have been more unqualified for a job in hospitality! She even told me that she normally she doesn't help people but since we had so many issues that she wanted to help, but all she did was call her manager, after we requested her to do so. We learned through overhearing the conversation with her manager that the hotel was recently under new management, so the positive reviews for this hotel must have been prior to this change. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Room smelled of smoke, had punch holes in the wall, missing wallpaper in the window and the kicker there were about 15-20 flies half dead in the window. If I can add video I would.

Toilet under rim was filthy. A you know what kind of hair was in the bathtub. Bed was clean though

Mold in the shower. I shudder to think what else isn't being cleaned here. Thankfully just passing through and don't need to worry about coming again.

Shower curtains had moldy stains, the one queen size bed sheets like like urine stains on them. Smelled like mold and nasty food

Room had ants all over the floor bathroom and beds not good

The walls are very thin so we heard everything and the bedding was not the best.

So first impressions were ruined immediately when we walked into our room and stared at 2inch high frayed carpet. A few miniature ants crawling around the room. Poor sound isolation between the rooms. Could clearly hear a normal conversation next door. Elevator inspection expired in 2024. It's now August 2025. If they paid attention to the details, it would be a nice place.

Lavatory in the room rather than in the bathroom is inconvenient if someone is still trying to sleep.

First time I stay there it was great. This trip I stayed 2 different times and not the best. Rooms run down, floors dirty, no towel rack to hand towel in the bathroom, toilet seat about to fall off. Staff is friendly and attentive but conditions of the hotel are not what they were,.

The overall size of the room was spacious. The bathroom was a little small. The bathtub had a loud creeking noise when stepping in and moving around to shower. The room was clean upon checkin. Housekeeping swrvice is availsbkr upon request, but not on a daily basis. Front desk staff was very friendlly. Breakfast was adequate.

The room was spacious, but the bathroom was uncomfortably small and the bathroom floor tiles need a complete re-grouting as they were loose and wobbly. Apparently staff aware of issue.

Quiet and clean but looking worn out and needs a refresh.

Greeted by very kind staff. The key system was down and the staff had to let us in to our rooms whenever we left our rooms for any reason. The tub/shower was not very clean. There was mold/mildew around the tiles and drain. The breakfast was very inadequate. Would not stay again.

The room was clean, the carpet soiled and torn. We had reservations and arrived at 4:00 by a very unfriendly staff woman who did not smile and did not say hello. We said we had a reservation and she said "your room is not ready", why? answer was we were very busy. When will it be ready. Answer was about 1/2 hour to one hour. No I am sorry. We went to eat and came back at 5:00. We went in, asked is our room ready? Answer No. we asked when? she said not sure. Will you call us when it is ready, She had our number and said she would. We came back at 6:00. She was sitting outside and we asked her when driving by where she was , is our room ready. She said Yes. I said why did you not call us? She said I tried and did not get an answer. I asked, Why did you not leave a message? She said "Ah, ah, ah, it would not let me. I said not true, my phone never had a call. We went in with our luggage and she just handed us our key. No further conversation except when I asked her about breakfast and further question about what time, where was the elevator and what kind of room. She says you have your key. I said what kind of room. I said, You know like the beds. The guy behind me even commented. Further, there were probably 8 plus people waiting in the lobby area for there rooms and she had been outside while they were inside. Got the feeling she did not want to be there. Breakfast had no milk for cereal. Would not stay here again. Very disappointed.

Check in time was 4pm and several rooms were not cleaned and ready making our check in time take about 30 mins. since we had to wait in line behind 4 others customers and only one staff working. We did not get into our room until after 5pm. There was no bedding for the pull out couch was in the room. We did not get breakfast. It would have been nice to have breakfast available past 9am.

The front desk was super nice and fixed it right away so check in was a breeze. The room was clean and had the most comfortable bed and pillows. I slept very comfortably. Breakfast was great! It was a pretty standard continental breakfast but delicious with plenty of food. The shower was really good and had enough pressure for us. The pool was clean and we enjoyed ourselves. Overall, the next time we're in Lincoln we will be staying there.

The register staff took forever to show up at the desk. When I went to pay for a soda, she couldn’t be found.

The hotel was fine. We stayed on a Sunday night because we went to a concert at the State Fair in Springfield. It was very slow checking in about 4:30 - check-in started at 4. There was quite a few people in front of me and rooms weren’t ready. I eventually got a room, about 45 min wait. I think it was busier than normal b/c of the fair and concert. Although it was frustrating, I would probably stay there again. The price was good and the room was clean.

Our first room's door didn't latch but they got us in a new room quickly. We then had very noisy neighbors but they took care of that quickly as well. The staff was all amazing, the breakfast was good, the rooms were clean. My only complaints were that the water pressure was awful and that the elevator was pretty outdated and seemed kind of unsafe.

Some improvements are needed to this property. The ceiling of our room is in terrible condition. We had to wait tocheck in.

Excellent location right off the interstate. Gas and food options right by the hotel. Breakfast a bonus in the morning. Well kept hotel. Clean, updated. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice place to spend a night when doing Route 66 in Lincoln, Illinoise

Highway noise was noticeable.

We can always count on a clean room with a good bed and great pillows. Sleep like a baby!!! Good breakfast selection and friendly staff. This stop works for us over and over again. Quick on and off the highway, gas stations, Cracker Barrel. Easy peasy as they say!

Easy access and food options.

It is easy to find off the freeway. YOU could see everything around the property as you approached it. There were not people milling around. The tv had a nice selection of stations to pick from and a convenient card to instantly kno the choices. Food choices for breakfas where ckean and good. It was what I needed.

Traveling can be stressful but staying at the Comfort Inn in Lincoln, IL was perfect for our group. Stores were conveniently located nearby and the accommodations were perfect.

Breakfast is Meh. The whole room was filled and waiting for the only decent thing to eat, eggs and sausage. Waited awhile but never got filled. The woman kept saying that they were in the warmer. Coffee tasted like hot water.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was warm and friendly. Breakfast service was great.

Good motel for ghe price. Love the breakfast.

The breakfast gal did an amazing job this morning with a bus load of mentally challenged adults!

Observed ants in the bathroom. Bathtub drained really slow. Shower head looked rusty. Channel guide on TV remote didn't work. Our room was on the second floor and didn't like to have to go to the first floor to get ice. Breakfast buffet left alot to be desired and only open until 9 am.

The breakfast was amazing. Hot breakfast with many options. Waffles in three flavors, eggs, sausage, bagels, sweet rolls, yogurt, toast. Very easy check in. Quiet place. Disappointed that the hot tub was not working.. Pool water was warm but the room was cold. No additional charge for our dog.

The staff were very friendly. I booked based on the excellent rating on this site. I would not give this hotel an excellent rating. A good rating but not excellent. I was disappointed that the jets in the hot tub could not be turned on. The pool was good. Breakfast was a large disappointment. The breakfast was not kept restocked. I took the last milk and no one rrstocked. The coffee was empty, therefore, I had to go to the libby for coffee. The variety was lacking. My room was good. The toilet and tub was a tight squeeze. The bed was comfortable. The size of the room was great.

Both coffee pots were empty during breakfast. Coffee pot in room was dirty and didn’t work. Probably the worst lodging experience ever
