Great resort that is family friendly. I traveled with a group of 8 total, one being a child under the age of 7. There were many swimming pool areas. One of which seemed to be warmed, which was nice. There are also many Jacuzzis spread around the swimming pool area which was also nice. The resort has an inflatable bouncy house on the Ocean in shallow waters, which was a great touch for the children and adults. They offered kayaking and paddle boarding with life jackets at no additional cost. The food in the buffet was just OK. The "cuisine" restaurants were a lot better. Be advised, that if you have the all-inclusive, they give you "receipts" to sign. They are not an actual charge, but rather a paper trail for their internal purposes. My husband didnt know this when he went to grab a few drinks at the bar and ended up paying for the drinks thinking he was being charged. Just an FYI. Everyday, they placed snacks in your room at no cost and stocked it with refreshments and beer. This is a great family resort but lacks much entertainment for adults. It is also a bit of a distance from the airport compared to the Hotel Zone hotels, but you know this when you look at it on the map. They do offer shuttle service options to and from the airport, which we took advantage of for decently priced fee. Overall, a great resort.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel and would absolutely it! Pros: • The heated pool and multiple Jacuzzis made swimming enjoyable at any time of the day. • The hotel has separate pools for adults, families, and young children, which was great for different preferences. • Room upgrade—we were upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment, which was the best thing ever! We had a stunning ocean view, though the living room was a bit noisy due to the generators in the back. Fortunately, this did not bother the kids Helpful Tips: 1. Take the cargo ship to Isla Mujeres —It’s only $30 per adult round-trip and just a four-minute walk from the hotel. The ship is large, super stable, and you won’t feel the waves at all. It’s a much better experience than the smaller, expensive boats we saw sailing by. 2. Book restaurant before your trip—When we arrived, the earliest available dinner reservation was 9 PM for the rest of our stay. I recommend booking at least two weeks in advance. However, we got lucky by asking in person about cancellations and managed to dine at 7:30 PM one night and 8 PM another night. 3. Timeshare presentation—The hotel offers free gifts for attending a presentation, but it takes around three hours. If you’re not interested, just politely decline—they aren’t pushy at all. 4. Pool chairs go fast!—People reserve poolside chairs by 8 AM, so if you want a good spot, wake up early to claim one. There aren’t enough for the hotel’s capacity.

Great food, great staff, lovely property. My only negative was that the gym was in the basement hidden away with no windows, no wifi for my work out apps. lol. Definitely could use an upgrade there.

We have stayed at Villa more than a dozen times and have always been pleased. The only complaint is that they need more lounge chairs around ALL the pool areas as well as the beach. When the resort is anywhere near capacity seating is a real problem at the beach and pool(s) area.

Excellent family resort, older property but very well maintained. We received a room upgrade which was very convenient. Service is consistently excellent throughout. Beach is much better than what we read in reviews.

They rocked it in the rooms! We loved the personal items and snacks and drinks that were replaced daily and included in the resort fees. The pools were quiet even though there were kiddos swimming around. LOVED that the pools were open after dark! YES!!!!

Resort, Staff and Service were all Fantastic!!! They have got to solve the Pool Chair “Saving” issue!!!! You come down to pool at 8:00am and towels and books are everywhere with no people in sight. They need to enforce their own Rules, after an hour REMOVE people belongings so people who are actually at the pool can use the Chairs!!!!!!

The staff made you feel like you’re a rock star we loved that. The only think is the shower tub was not cleaned very well and the sheets had stains before we sleep on the bed. Otherwise everything else was amazing .

We really enjoyed the room. It was very spacious with a king sized bed. Two large bathrooms. Great service. The resort is gorgeous and well maintained. Lots of pools to choose from with lots of palm trees for cover from the heat. Beach was great and despite lots of seaweed washing up on shore, the resort was quick to clean it up multiple times a day! Lots of loungers to choose from including cabanas. Can easily reserve a chair in the morning which was great. Very family friendly. The food was outstanding. The breakfast buffet was incredible. I would come back. Highly recommended.

Water has an awful smell. When you shower to brushing ur teeths. Water had a bad smell thru out all our stay. Overall i had a great experience and staff made it awesome. I will definitely be back.

I cant say enough about the great staff and hospitality at the resort! From the time we arrived, until the time we left, any needs we had, were immediately addressed and resolved. Housekeeping was on par. Very clean rooms and linens always restocked. Grounds crew did a great job with landscaping and keeping the resort looking well groomed. Wait staff was wonderful!!!! A drink was always a step away as well as food orders. Will definitely return. Thank you Villa del Palmar Cancun!!!

This was an amazing resort. I cant say enough good things. The one bedroom ocean view was OUTSTANDING. The food was great (french toast, oarnge juice, baccon, mimosas, mangos were my fav). Seevice was amazing by the pool and beach. Shout out to Edgar! Rooms were always cleaned quickly and turn down service made us feel like royalty. I loved everything about this resort. Kids loved the pools, hot tubs and the beach. Uggg i want to go back asap.

Great family spot. Staff was amazing. Room was a 1-bedroom suite which was great for us and our two girls who shared the pullout bed and had their own bath. View was great from balcony that had a table and hammock. In room laundry was a nice surprise. Food was solid for all-inclusive. But the staff was next level.

Love this property, the staff were wonderful. The room is spacious and cleaned on the daily! The pool area was divided up nicely and the restaurants meals were top tier! Room service was restaurant quality every time (minus the fast food and pizza). The only complaint is the internet was not up to par, but other than that everything was amazing! Going back again soon!

The service was great! The people there very nice! The food was average. The water pressure was very low. The shower would cut off sometimes and the water had an Odor. The elevators in the middle were broken so we did a lot of walking to one side of the hotel to get to our room.

We really enjoyed the room. It was very spacious with a king sized bed. Two large bathrooms. Great service. The resort is gorgeous and well maintained. Lots of pools to choose from with lots of palm trees for cover from the heat. Beach was great and despite lots of seaweed washing up on shore, the resort was quick to clean it up multiple times a day! Lots of loungers to choose from including cabanas. Can easily reserve a chair in the morning which was great. Very family friendly. The food was outstanding. The breakfast buffet was incredible. I would come back. Highly recommended.

The property is beautiful. The pools are pristine, and the restaurants boast delicious gourmet food. We were disappointed that our personal hot tub on our balcony did not work during our entire stay. We paid a premium price for the room we had and were not compensated in anyway for this. (we were told we could perhaps have a free night if we booked there again.) We also had trouble upon arrival paying our balance. We tried to use our American Express card and were told that the machines were having trouble processing it in USD. So, we agreed to allow the card to be processed in pesos, and ended up being charged $250 more than the agreed-upon balance owed. We received varying responses regarding this and never had it resolved during our five nights there. So, we filed a dispute upon returning home. It was unusual since we were able to use our American Express card on the property to book excursions in USD. The hotel charges a higher exchange rate, but this was not told to us at the time we agreed to charge the amount in pesos. Still, you would think the amount of pesos would be adjusted to match the balance owed in USD.

We arrived excited to start our vacation, but the first thing we encountered was a wait of over six hours to get our room. When they finally assigned it to us, it was still being cleaned, so we had to wait outside with our two children. Rooms and cleanliness Once ready, the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and generally very clean. Amenities were fine and the beds were comfortable. Food and drinks The all-inclusive isn’t really all-inclusive: food options are limited and the buffet is only available for breakfast. There’s no buffet for lunch or dinner, and you have to sign a receipt for every item you consume, which slows everything down. At the steakhouse bar, we encountered some staff who were openly rude, which took away from the experience. Beach and activities The beach is beautiful, but there’s a lot of seaweed and rocky areas, so it’s best to bring water shoes. Daytime activities and nighttime entertainment are quite limited—if you’re looking for constant animation, this is not the place. The best part The Legend restaurant was a highlight: delicious food, excellent service, and a genuinely friendly team. Big thanks to Jorge and the manager for their outstanding attention. Conclusion If you prioritize a clean and comfortable room, the hotel delivers. However, be prepared for long waits, limited food options, and a lack of entertainment. The room we had was amazing with ocean front views and resort is very family friendly which I loved. The food options were ok. The buffet could use an upgrade with more options of foods, different pastries and cakes. It was same everyday and it gets boring. I didn’t like the fact that you have to sign a receipt each time you eat something. Waste of time to be signed out after your done eating and constantly tipping on total bill in % which really adds up. We were tipping like $30 -$40 on meals and separate for pool side. I have done all inclusive before and this wasn’t my experience. I hated that part. Don’t mind tipping but it shouldn’t be asked for which was constantly being done. Paid a lot for all inclusive and should be something we do willingly and not asked for every time we eat something. Otherwise it was good experience.

We stayed there for a great week early May but not sure we'd go back. Property, food, staff for the most part were great BUT too many rules!!! that are intrusive and interruptive to my vacation. We pay for AI to be able to come and go as we please and not to be bothered or interrupted by the "business of the resort". The worst one is this "have to sign the bill" rule every time is just plain silly, my signature means nothing to their records or tracking as they ask my room number everywhere (not a problem) so they can get all the info they need and they know we're AI. The only reason I can see is it's just another way to extract more money out of you as there is a TIP line, this was compounded a few times with having to find my server to sign so we could leave the area. I have no problem tipping, so its not that, preferring to tip per round and in cash. Also on checkout I needed the checkout slip before our shuttle could leave, why?? Couldn't get shots in my morning coffee - our waiter admitted he didn't understand English so well - go to the restaurant bar they tell me I have to go through my waiter aargh!!! - the bottle was literally right there can't just give me something I've already paid for without me having to get frustrated about it, it's not a licensing thing as they serve other alcohol.

Villa del Palmar was an awesome family property. LOTS of families, so if you’re planning on coming to this property w a goal to have a an adult or elevated experience, I’d suggest trying their sister property nextdoor, Garza Blanca. We’re a family of 4 with kids ages 7 and 10, VDP was perfect. We only left the resort 2X for excursions but stayed on property for 7 full days. There are no “clubs” or evening experiences for adults aside from local musicians nightly at an open air stage-that’s at Garza. There’s Legends the sports grill that has a bar frequented by Millennials (40-60 yr olds). There is NOTHING around the property entertainment or restaurant wise and taxis are grossly expensive. (A 10 minute 8 mile ride was $65 USD) You can wait for the bus but it’s inconsistent schedule, often crowded & poor bus stand. Staying w/o doing All-Inclusive is a huge fail. We were all inclusive for the duration of our stay, but on our last we paid out of pocket for the ocean grill, Bites; 4 chicken tenders, a personal pizza & cheeseburger w beer = $74 USD. My biggest disappointment in the experience overall was the inability to personalize. It was a milestone bday trip for me & my husband asked for our suite to decorated, similar to what you see in photos (A towel decoration, rose petals, etc) After speaking to Concierge AND a manager he was refused. He asked to purchase a cake & was told to eat in a restaurant. Rappi failed to deliver his order properly so I literally had nothing.

The staff was very helpful. Everytime we needed any additional towels, or bedding they were at our door quick. We enjoyed all the restaurants. Our poolside server Renan, was by far one of the best servers we had the pleasure of assisting us during our 6 night stay. He was still very attentive while assisting others and even greeted us by name. Our family really enjoyed our time at Villa del Palmar.

I want to give this property 5 stars. It's beautiful, it's fun, it feels like its own perfect little escape. But frankly I 3as absolutely outraged by the way we were treated. At least three times I attempted to call to have something minor fixed in the room . Ok, I thought, let it go. However, after spending 90 mins trying every number available on the phone (front desk, bellman, etc.) because three room service number was simply busy no matter what. Is no one working here? I wondered. So at 4 am, I got dressed and walked to the front desk. Yes! People are working. In this case, 3 people were right there at the front desk talking. When I explained that not one line anywhere on the property answers, not only did they not care, they responded with hostility. 'What do you want? We"ll get it from room service". Room svc is not the point. As a person who had a life threatening medical emergency, I thankfully survived, what would have happened if it occur while I was there? The truth is very scary. Not one person on any line anywhere in the hotel was reachable _on several occasions. Knowing how dangerous this, the response I got was rude, hostile, deeply unprofessional. Having traveled around the world, one thing is very consistent. When a classy place makes a mistake, the offer a gesture, and at minimum an apology. Not here.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated exceptionally well. Luis at the front desk was amazing. He was warm, friendly and kind! The rooms big and clean. Food was amazing and tasty. Service top notch. Always polite and with a smile. Raul at the pool was just awesome! I don’t have a negative comment about our stay.

An incredible stay! The staff was exceptionally friendly, making us feel right at home. This was our first long trip after COVID, and choosing this place made it all worthwhile. The beachfront location was stunning, offering breathtaking views and easy access to jet skiing right on-site. Plus, the ferry was just a short two-minute walk away, making transportation a breeze. Truly a home away from home!

You can’t go wrong… My teenage daughter and I went from Christmas’s Day to New Year’s Day. The resort was impeccable. Although we were there 7 nights, we only spent two days at the resort’s pools and beach. The other days, we went to Isla Mejeres (sp?) on the ferry that’s next to the hotel, Xel Ha (amazing!) , Horseback/ATV/Zipline/Cenote, downtown Cancun, and snorkeling. Felt very safe off property even took local bus downtown for $1 instead of $80 cab ride each way. So, unless you want to walk to the clubs, book it.

It is good Property if you want to stay inside the resort and just chill. If you want to explore it is away from Cancun city and you have to take taxi. Or book trips.

LOTS of families, so if you’re planning on coming to this property w a goal to have a an adult or elevated experience, I’d suggest trying their sister property nextdoor, Garza Blanca. We’re a family of 4 with kids ages 7 and 10, VDP was perfect. We only left the resort 2X for excursions but stayed on property for 7 full days. There are no “clubs” or evening experiences for adults aside from local musicians nightly at an open air stage-that’s at Garza. There’s Legends the sports grill that has a bar frequented by Millennials (40-60 yr olds). There is NOTHING around the property entertainment or restaurant wise and taxis are grossly expensive. (A 10 minute 8 mile ride was $65 USD) You can wait for the bus but it’s inconsistent schedule, often crowded & poor bus stand. Staying w/o doing All-Inclusive is a huge fail. We were all inclusive for the duration of our stay, but on our last we paid out of pocket for the ocean grill, Bites; 4 chicken tenders, a personal pizza & cheeseburger w beer = $74 USD. My biggest disappointment in the experience overall was the inability to personalize. It was a milestone bday trip for me & my husband asked for our suite to decorated, similar to what you see in photos (A towel decoration, rose petals, etc) After speaking to Concierge AND a manager he was refused. He asked to purchase a cake & was told to eat in a restaurant. Rappi failed to deliver his order properly so I literally had nothing.

The resort is clean, with excellent facilities and convenient rooms. However, the biggest challenge is getting to the resort as they do not provide shuttle service for guests, which I wish they would consider adding. For example, I tried to book the Italian restaurant a day in advance, but it was already full. Make sure to plan well in advance if you want to secure a spot at your preferred dining venue. We arrived excited to start our vacation, but the first thing we encountered was a wait of over six hours to get our room. When they finally assigned it to us, it was still being cleaned, so we had to wait outside with our two children. Rooms and cleanliness Once ready, the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and generally very clean. Amenities were fine and the beds were comfortable. Food and drinks The all-inclusive isn’t really all-inclusive: food options are limited and the buffet is only available for breakfast. There’s no buffet for lunch or dinner, and you have to sign a receipt for every item you consume, which slows everything down. At the steakhouse bar, we encountered some staff who were openly rude, which took away from the experience. Beach and activities The beach is beautiful, but there’s a lot of seaweed and rocky areas, so it’s best to bring water shoes. Daytime activities and nighttime entertainment are quite limited—if you’re looking for constant animation, this is not the place. The best part The Legend restaurant was a highlight: delicious food, excellent service, and a genuinely friendly team. Big thanks to Jorge and the manager for their outstanding attention. Property was well kept. Staff was friendly. Food was amazing at all of the restaurants. Davino was our favorite. Eduardo was a great server during breakfast and Wilem provided great service at the pool.

It’s a good property with quality food, rooms, great service & property. We weren’t fans of getting a bill with each order even on al all inclusive plan. It’s for the tip options, but unusual for all inclusive resorts

Good:Property was pretty overall. Pool volleyball was fun. Servers were nice. Bad: No swim up bars. Room never got below 76 degrees! Restaurants were small with few tables so reservations were difficult to secure. Best options on every menu cost extra. Time share push right after check in. Lots of seaweed on beach.

The hotel is very clean and pretty. Staff is nice. Family friendly was so so wished they had some water slides. Kids tried the wipeout but that didn’t last much. The wipeout is the inflatable on the water. Kayaking was fine with an adult of course. Paddle boards are from 16 yrs old. Snorkeling was ok. Seaweed and dark water ruined it. Went at end of September and the beach was meh. Had maybe two days at the end with clear water. Seaweed smelled and ruined the beach stay. Pool and property is beautiful. With it being a hybrid resort and us having all inclusive it was kind of enoying with workers Asking to kind of “pay” or close the check with the balance being zero. When ordering food the room number is being asked every time. Compared to other all inclusive where they don’t bother with that. Davino is very nice Italian restaurant. For some reason the evening buffet was closed with a dinner show not available. Just restaurants in the evening. 4 to choose from. One other negative thing was mosquitoes. They just eat you up. Zama which is an open restaurant had a spray available to use. Just as the sun sets the mosquitoes come out. They told us we can buy spray at their market. Overall it was a very nice stay. I highly recommend.

The food and property were great. Our biggest issue was trying to get dinner reservations at the different restaurants. We tried 3 weeks in advance and could only confirm 3 for 7 days. Two of the times were ideal for the family 5:30-6pm. Our other reservation wasn't until 9pm. Only restaurant we weren't too impressed with was La Casona. Food was great everywhere else including the room service 😊

La suite asi como la ofrecieron, espaciosa, muy limpia, amenidades excelentes, camas, sabanas, almohadas de muy buena calidad, la vista expectacular , le balcon muy amplio y el jacuzi excelente. lo mejor fue el personal, siempre atento, amable y muy servicial.

What a dream vacation! Our suite was perfectly sized, giving everyone space for family meals, relaxing, or privacy in their own bedrooms. The staff was amazing, especially Otikio, Victor (by the cabanas), and Daniel (Sommelier). I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation in paradise!

First of all, we enjoyed our stay here. It is a very nice place, extremely clean. I think this is the first time ever we got free upgrade room. It is a one bedroom suite with one bedroom, two bathrooms, laundry, huge balcony with ocean view. The food quality is slightly better than the resort we stayed at hotel zone. But I got tummy trouble on the last day. The meeting with the concierge was a little bit too much after the flights you just want to go to your room and relax. They kept offering all kinds of promotions and discounts to asked you to sign. Now the main issue which we never seen before at other places. Here basically everywhere you go, buffet, restaurants or room service they will show you a bill and ask you to choose the tipping and sign. I don’t understand why you will get different amount of bill when you eat at buffet. And all the bills with unreasonable prices. The first night at the buffet, I accidentally put 10 peso in the system as the tip and the waiter actually chased me down to ask me to redo it. The front desk will show you all the details you “spent” at checked out. I found out there was twice room service I put down 50 peso got changed to 150 peso. Yes, when you checked in they will run your card for 400 dollars as deposit, charge from it in the end and refund the rest of it. This place is definitely not busy, very quiet, no game room. I personally felt pressured about the whole tipping thing, my 8 years old enjoyed the spacious room overall.

Amazing hotel that felt like a second home. All the staff was very friendly , the grounds beautiful and the food delicious. The all inclusive option was the way to go as you can enjoy delicious food throughout the day. My family will be visiting again very soon.

Overall, our stay was good, but it’s worth knowing this is primarily a timeshare resort that also rents rooms through Expedia and other travel sites. Be prepared for a sales pitch and frequent upsells—from excursions to premium drinks and wine. The food was surprisingly very good, but even a decent bottle of wine came with a hefty extra charge. On the positive side, the resort was clean, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Tipping is also a big part of the culture, so it’s something to budget for. I enjoyed my time but not my favorite and won’t be returning.
