The house had a welcoming feel, breakfast was delicious (small bowl of fruit was very generous - no idea what size the large one would be!). And in the lounge there's a beautiful Blüthner grand piano, which for me was the icing on the cake. Or even the cake itself...

Volodymyr and his wife made us feel very welcome, like old friends. Breakfast was wonderful. The entire place was spotless. The ambience is almost 'Dowtonesque' without any of the pretentiousness or snobbery. They even have a beautiful Blüthner grand piano in the sitting room. This was our first time staying here but it won't be our last.

Great proximity between Lyme Park and Chatsworth for all you Pride and Prejudice fans! Beautiful house, breakfast was lovely. Lots of nice amenities in the room as well- slippers, robes, pillow spray! Convenient parking as well.

Stayed for 3 nights for a very enjoyable stay. The breakfast menu gave a very considerable choice (2 sides A4) of vegetarian breakfasts and excelled in variety, quantity and quality (am not personally a veggie!). Kingscroft has ample car parking and is around a 10/15 min walk to Buxton town centre. If you go do take your breakfast appetite with you.

Beautifully simple and excellent service. We arrived very early and left the car whilst exploring Buxton. Quick check in later on and lovely room with four poster bed and everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing (vegetarian) and plentiful portions. Perfect spot. We did a foodie mystery tour of Buxton and Kingscroft was within east reach of everything we visited. Excellent all round.

Our stay was lovely in this beautiful Victorian house which has been furnished and decorated to suit the property. It was spotlessly clean and the dinning room had fresh flowers on the tables which we liked. The breakfast was amazing with very generous potions from a wide variety for vegetarian options. The owners are extremely pleasant and will definitely return

Really enjoyed our stay at Buxton staying at Kingscroft hotel , only complaint was the fact that they didn’t refresh our room during our three nights there , in which time we ran out of tea , biscuits , and toilet roll , have always been used to that being done , other than that it was lovely , we did get fresh stocks when we asked for them !

The Kingscroft is a lovely, quaint restored Victorian home that is very warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious and very clean with little extras such as fresh fruit, free mini fridge with water and other drinks and biscuits and the bed was very comfortable. Should you happen to forget your toothbrush or other essentials, they’ll happily supply you with one. Be aware..breakfast is delicious with large portions so make sure you’re hungry.

It is very rare to stay somewhere where you can't think of anything that could have been better. This B & B is one of those rare places. It is perfect from the decor, the cleanliness, the truly amazing breakfast to the small touches. Will definitely stay again.

really good B and B, friendly attentive service by the owner. Breakfast is a highlight, the only downside is having to choose the day before, but I understand why, and it is so good. it is a 10 to 15 minute walk into the town centre which is lower down so the walk back is uphill. the room we had was big and had everything you need. its Victorian in style and very well maintained.

We enjoyed or stay here. The host, Volodimir, was very welcoming (as were the family members I met). The room was spotless, and the furnishings and decor in keeping with the period of the house, with some quirky little twists. Very reminiscent of New England B&Bs. Breakfast (despite being meatless) was amazing with generous helpings. My only slightly negative observation is that the en suite was very compact. It being squeezed into a traditional room. This is always a problem with older properties and is perfectly adequate except to those of very generous proportions. This shouldn't deter anyone from staying at this excellent property, hence my 5 stars

What a great find this guesthouse was! Wal welcomed us and explained everything about our room and the breakfast choices (which were amazing). Everything about Kingscroft was quality - bed linens, the mattress, cutlery, crockery etc. The breakfasts were incredible - so much choice and such big portions. I really can’t think of anything to suggest which could be improved on.

the hosts go the extra mile . fruit , water biscuits , toiletries ear plugs,sewing kit, shoe shine ,cosmetic pads/ear buds in the room. room stunning and spacious. food very large portions and excellent quality and service . note this is a meat free venue but did not detract from us enjoying the food immensely

Beautiful room in a really lovely Victorian house. The attention to detail was absolutely spot on. The breakfast was amazing. We had the birdcage, which was filled with fresh pastries. We couldn’t finish it, we had to bring some home!! The bed was really comfortable. The host was really efficient and friendly.

A lovely Victorian guest house walking distance from Buxton’s sights and amenities. We were given a warm welcome, a lovely room with very comfortable bed & everything we needed. Breakfast was extensive; freshly prepared and delicious. Would highly recommend.

Nice comfortable rooms, great breakfast, wonderful hosts. It was unusually hot weather and an optional fan (at extra cost per day) would have been welcome. One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay there again on our next trip

A lovely Victorian guest house walking distance from Buxton’s sights and amenities. We were given a warm welcome, a lovely room with very comfortable bed & everything we needed. Breakfast was extensive; freshly prepared and delicious. Would highly recommend.

really good B and B, friendly attentive service by the owner. Breakfast is a highlight, the only downside is having to choose the day before, but I understand why, and it is so good. it is a 10 to 15 minute walk into the town centre which is lower down so the walk back is uphill. the room we had was big and had everything you need. its Victorian in style and very well maintained.

Stayed for 3 nights for a very enjoyable stay. The breakfast menu gave a very considerable choice (2 sides A4) of vegetarian breakfasts and excelled in variety, quantity and quality (am not personally a veggie!). Kingscroft has ample car parking and is around a 10/15 min walk to Buxton town centre. If you go do take your breakfast appetite with you.

Beautifully simple and excellent service. We arrived very early and left the car whilst exploring Buxton. Quick check in later on and lovely room with four poster bed and everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing (vegetarian) and plentiful portions. Perfect spot. We did a foodie mystery tour of Buxton and Kingscroft was within east reach of everything we visited. Excellent all round.

The room was nicely decorated and the landlord was friendly. Breakfast was excellent and served in large portions. Access to town amenities was good too. The only downside was the lack of a lift which means we had to carry to large briefcases up three floors

Our stay was lovely in this beautiful Victorian house which has been furnished and decorated to suit the property. It was spotlessly clean and the dinning room had fresh flowers on the tables which we liked. The breakfast was amazing with very generous potions from a wide variety for vegetarian options. The owners are extremely pleasant and will definitely return

Definitely the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Vegetarian menu (which I’m not used to) but the choice was immense and the food quality was second to none.

What a great find this guesthouse was! Wal welcomed us and explained everything about our room and the breakfast choices (which were amazing). Everything about Kingscroft was quality - bed linens, the mattress, cutlery, crockery etc. The breakfasts were incredible - so much choice and such big portions. I really can’t think of anything to suggest which could be improved on.

the hosts go the extra mile . fruit , water biscuits , toiletries ear plugs,sewing kit, shoe shine ,cosmetic pads/ear buds in the room. room stunning and spacious. food very large portions and excellent quality and service . note this is a meat free venue but did not detract from us enjoying the food immensely

Beautiful room in a really lovely Victorian house. The attention to detail was absolutely spot on. The breakfast was amazing. We had the birdcage, which was filled with fresh pastries. We couldn’t finish it, we had to bring some home!! The bed was really comfortable. The host was really efficient and friendly.

We're used to staying in more corporate hotels, so found the personal service a little overwhelming. Our room was very nicely decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. We stayed though during a very hot spell and the room was stiflingly hot with the windows unable to be opened more than a few inches. We weren't offered a fan, so maybe we should have asked as we didn't sleep very well due to the heat. We found breakfast interesting- we had to pre order the night before, which we don't like to do and were surprised to find the menu was totally vegetarian. Despite pre ordering, we still had to wait 30mins for our hot breakfast to arrive but all in all it was good quality, although we're not sure what happened to the wholemeal sourdough that we ordered as it was just white toast that arrived. There were lots of breakfast choices, with many different teas and the fresh fruit was exceptional. Nothing really wrong with our stay except the room as mentioned above. A different experience to what we're used to and unsure if it suited us.

A beautiful stay in a beautiful house. All the staff were most helpful & couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast is out of this world plus Large portions. A short walk in to Buxton. Will definitely back. Thank you again for making it such a wonderful weekend stay.

We stayed 3 nights at the Kingscroft Guest House. Vol was very welcoming from the moment we walked in their front door. He was very detailed in explaining how everything worked in our room, as well as other features of the house. He often gave us tips for exploring and eating in the area. There were many options for breakfast and Victoria was spending time during the day to test new recipes to please people from different countries and cultures. We enjoyed her efforts to cook both traditional, but also unique offerings.
