Very average place, definately inappropriate rating that hotels.com shows.Person above 5.5 would not be able to use shower. Overall very old place and could use better customer service and a lot of renovation. There is no place for grilling, they supply tiny grill that is attached to parking, so you either park or grill and burn your car.

Great find. Love the small cottages. They have a fire pit, a pool outside games the grill. Staff was pleasant and the room was very clean.

it is a typical motel with a small pool. conveniently located near national forest area and cog railway station. priced well for a night stay before hiking up mount Washington via Ammonoosuduc trail. Room smells moldy and bed sheets were not changed!!

Staff was excellent, attentive and always helpful. Hard working family owned business. The shower was a bit small, other than that our cottage was nice, screened in front porch, air conditioning, excellent WiFi, tv, microwave, and the pool is amazing. There’s also a nice playground for kids, as well as a campfire area. My wife and I will book here for future visits.

Let me start by saying that yes, the property and cabins are dated. Yes, they are little musty. Let’s call them “rustic”. That being said, the bed and pillows were comfy, plenty of hot water and the property itself was perfect for what we needed. My husband and I took our adult kids and our 2 year old grandson to Santa’s Village for the weekend. The baby loved all the room to run, played to his hearts content at the little playground and my adult kids had a great time in the pool and playing basketball and badminton. Lots of room to run around for kids that you can’t get at an in town hotel. There is a charcoal grill at each cabin so we made hot dogs and hamburgers, cooked s’mores around the fire pit and the property is very quiet. Overall, we’d go back.

I'm not sure how the cottage I stayed in got such a high rating on Travelocity. It smelled like mothballs and was so dated. The coffee pot had a very old filter left in it. The place needs a lot of work. I guess you get what you pay for, but again the rating. One good thing, there as hot water and the shower felt good after a day of hiking.

Absolutely disgusting. If you like sleeping in moth balls, this is your place! Booked a room w 2 beds through Travelocity -instead they put us in a gross cottage w 1 bed and futon that belongs in dumpster- too nasty to even sit on. You’re better off sleeping in your car. They haven’t put a dime into this place since it was built in the 50’s. All luggage had to be washed when we got home and had to throw away our travel pillows because it all reeked of mothballs! Never Again!

The motel needs work. The room was smaller than most, but comfortable enough for our needs. The lighting was dark. The bathroom door couldn't close. The screen door into the room could not be closed either. Dead insects were all over the window screens and in the casings. They needed cleaning badly.

Place was a real Dump. My accommodations was for a cottage and ended up with a motel room. Half the lights worked in the room. The shower was so small I could not use it. The bathroom is tiny. The toilet is the size used in elementary school. The whole establishment is way outdated.

I felt like I was in the 1970's, but actually enjoyed the trip down memory lane while staying here. The rooms are small, the bathroom tiny so it's something to consider. Very clean, although dated. Sufficient kitchenette and warm heat. Enjoyed coffee on the screened in porch. Nothing much open around the motel after dark, so be prepared with food/snacks. Great little gas station right across the street stocked well. Would stay again.

Loved this place. The room had everything we needed, comfortable beds, coffee maker/mini fridge/microwave, great A/C, easy check in and key drop for check out. We were hiking Galehead and Hale so these trailheads were very convenient to access from North Twin. Celli’s pizza which was just around the corner has great sandwiches and cookies.

Terrific place just outside downtown Carroll, short drive there or Bretton Woods. Kind and conscientious staff. Old-style motel, but well kept, and everything in good order. (Corpulent Americans be warned of small, modular shower.)

It was a very nice little cabin, perfect for my husband and me. I loved the little closed in porch with the table and chairs. I was quiet and peaceful now in September. It was clean and convenient to hiking and the Cog railroad
It was a very nice little cabin, perfect for my husband and me. I loved the little closed in porch with the table and chairs. I was quiet and peaceful now in September. It was clean and convenient to hiking and the Cog railroad

Loved this place. The room had everything we needed, comfortable beds, coffee maker/mini fridge/microwave, great A/C, easy check in and key drop for check out. We were hiking Galehead and Hale so these trailheads were very convenient to access from North Twin. Celli’s pizza which was just around the corner has great sandwiches and cookies.

I felt like I was in the 1970's, but actually enjoyed the trip down memory lane while staying here. The rooms are small, the bathroom tiny so it's something to consider. Very clean, although dated. Sufficient kitchenette and warm heat. Enjoyed coffee on the screened in porch. Nothing much open around the motel after dark, so be prepared with food/snacks. Great little gas station right across the street stocked well. Would stay again.

Very average place, definately inappropriate rating that hotels.com shows.Person above 5.5 would not be able to use shower. Overall very old place and could use better customer service and a lot of renovation. There is no place for grilling, they supply tiny grill that is attached to parking, so you either park or grill and burn your car.

Great find. Love the small cottages. They have a fire pit, a pool outside games the grill. Staff was pleasant and the room was very clean.

Water pressure was a issue, cottage felt run down. Not many restaurants in area, had to drive over a 45mins to a decent one. Bring your own food.

Cute and comfortable. If you're looking for a high-end hotel with all the accouterments this is not it, but you should not expect that for the price. It was clean and cozy. Very small bathrooms in the cottages but it's a very small cottage and it is well laid out. We had no complaints at all. There are a lot of great breakfast places nearby and we also found excellent a fabulous Italian restaurant in a town 5 miles away.

Let me start by saying that yes, the property and cabins are dated. Yes, they are little musty. Let’s call them “rustic”. That being said, the bed and pillows were comfy, plenty of hot water and the property itself was perfect for what we needed. My husband and I took our adult kids and our 2 year old grandson to Santa’s Village for the weekend. The baby loved all the room to run, played to his hearts content at the little playground and my adult kids had a great time in the pool and playing basketball and badminton. Lots of room to run around for kids that you can’t get at an in town hotel. There is a charcoal grill at each cabin so we made hot dogs and hamburgers, cooked s’mores around the fire pit and the property is very quiet. Overall, we’d go back.

Timberland cottage was perfect for me an my dad. We stayed two nights. Its a small little cabin with a bathroom, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The only issue was the water for the shower did not get very hot. It was warm at best.

We got 2 rooms and both of them were not clean. The floors were not vacuumed. The bed spread had stains. The showers were dirty. The side tables were gritty. The refrigerator ran very hot and when we turned it up, it quit all together.
