The hotel is nice, well kept, surrounded by plant life. The hotel, unfortunate for them, had very few guests. They have a nice dining room, but at this time do not serve dinner. The room I chose had a little patio attached to the room. There was very little traffic noise while sitting on the patio. The room was spotless, nice, and comfortable. The only issue was that because they are a small hotel the entrance is locked and the staff has to be handy to open the door. The same with parking, the small lot is gated and the staff needed to open it. This was kind of an issue, as my girlfriend got an emergency call and had to leave around midnight, and it took awhile for the attendant to wake up and come out to open the parking gate. There are several restaurant/bars within walking distance, and the San Pedro mall is about 3/4 mile away. We liked the hotel and will stay there again.

this hotel can be an inspired scene for a ghost movie, with amenities in the 1930s, shaking internet, and a wind blowing dark garden. the staffs were trying hard but overall lack of money to make things to work.

Staff was not pleasant. Not very intelligent, but that's everyone in Costa Rica. The property grounds are in terrible shape. Needs lots of clean up work. Trash everywhere. Overgrown plants or dead plants. Kitchen staff very rude. Typical Costa Rica. Attitude and disrespectful people. 😒

Rooms were only cleaned very superficially, if at all. Surfaces in the bathroom were obviously not wiped down from previous guest. The second room I had was overall nicer and acceptable from a cleanliness perspective. Ancient towels that urgently need replacing. The place itself is beautiful, too bad that there isn't more effort put into it. The staff are generally nice and I appreciated them feeding some local cats. Breakfast is extremely limited and was just about enough for me as a woman, all my male co-travellers left hungry.

The Hotel is in a nice location. The free parking is secure and the grounds of the hotel are very nice. The staff was friendly the first night and next morning the made to order breakfast was very nice. The second night the front desk person was not very helpful. We went out for a drink that night and got back at 11 PM. He was clearly annoyed that he had to let us back onto the property. He was also cold the next morning at breakfast. Although we had new sheets and towels, the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned.

The room was very dirty upon arrival. There foot marks all over the bathroom floors. There are also dirty marks on the wall as well. The sink doesn’t drain properly, you have to keep lifting up the plug to drain the water. What I like about the place is the garden.

It was bad! It used to be a beautiful place years ago. Not anymore. Landscape is not taking care of. I got mosquito bites. There were spider webs in my room and I saw one🕸️on the shower towels. Service was poor. I tried to get another room and was told the hotel was full which I didn’t believe. It looked empty instead. Their policy won’t accept cancellations so you will loose your money. Staff was ok. Not so welcoming and accommodating. The bathroom smelled bad. Water didn’t drain well in the shower. The toilet had a brown stain. It looked gross and dirty. The wood floors made a creaking noise when you walk around the room. I stayed there for two nights and couldn’t wait to get out of there! Do not stayed at this place and save yourself a terrible experience!

La verdad pagué un adicional de $20 por una mejor habitación, tv no funcionaba, fundas y almohadas deterioradas lavatorio sucio y taqueado, despues de hablar con el encargado nos cambiaron a otra habitación pero la limpieza parece que no es el fuerte de la propiedad

Had a great experience. The room and bathroom were great, and I had a private enclave out the back door. Which was really great. I was able to walk to the museums and downtown stores easily from here. My only negative was that there was accumulated dust on one of the bedside tables, I didn’t mind it, but it would have bugged some people.

A little way out of downtown San Jose but walkable. Big room and large bathroom although there was a bit of mould on the very high ceiling it was otherwise clean. Traditional breakfast was included. Was very quiet and right next door to a large Starbucks and close to large supermarket

Die Zimmer im Hotel Le Bergerac sind sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Ein paar Dinge sind jedoch nicht mehr in Ordnung : kaputte Nachttischlampe, alter, verrosteter Kühlschrank. Zimmer und Bad waren nicht richtig sauber. Ein auf dem Bett drapiertes Handtuch war an beiden Seiten ausgefranst. Es wurde auf Nachfrage anstandslos ausgetauscht. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

I stayed here for four nights & would sum up my stay as ‘barely adequate’. It is extremely loud, due to nearby bars, traffic, and flocks of noisy birds, making sleeping difficult. The mattress felt like sleeping on a sack of cement & the breakfast was basic. Finally, the staff was not friendly or particularly helpful. When I asked for an iron, the receptionist gave me one that was obviously broken. Stay elsewhere.

Everyone on the staff was super nice and friendly. The hotel is outdated and on a scale of 1 to 10 cleanliness is about a 5. They did have a good breakfast that was included. However is you get a room in the front of the hotel, you can expect it to be loud.

I like the layout- it’s unique in that the doors to the rooms are not facing each other. There’s some sort of nightclub nearby that was playing loud music until 2 in the morning.

Dejé un cargador y pasé a recogerlo 11-05, 7 am. Recepcionista me trató de lo peor, agresivo, burlón y malcriado. Sin el menor conocimiento de servicio al cliente. Había estado varias veces en el hotel. Nunca más.

Staff was not pleasant. Not very intelligent, but that's everyone in Costa Rica. The property grounds are in terrible shape. Needs lots of clean up work. Trash everywhere. Overgrown plants or dead plants. Kitchen staff very rude. Typical Costa Rica. Attitude and disrespectful people. 😒

Esta estancia fue tan terrible que tomamos la decisión de no quedarnos en la segunda noche que habíamos reservado. 1. No se respetó el acuerdo tomado con hoteles.com con la opción "paga después" que había seleccionado para los tres cuartos reservados. Cuando llegamos al hotel, el cobro se había realizado en mi tarjeta para los tres cuartos, sin pedirnos la autorización previa o avisarnos. El hotel nos respondió de manera muy abrupta y desagradable que no era de su responsabilidad honrar los términos de hoteles.com. Hice un reclamo a la plataforma el jueves 2 de marzo, no he recibido respuesta hasta la fecha. 2. Los cuartos estaban en condiciones deplorables de suciedad y mal estado (ver fotos adjuntas). Mi colega reportó una plaga de hormigas en su cuarto. El recepcionista le respondió en un primer momento que no se podía hacer nada al respecto ya que "el cuarto había sido asignado en el sistema". The Hotel is in a nice location. The free parking is secure and the grounds of the hotel are very nice. The staff was friendly the first night and next morning the made to order breakfast was very nice. The second night the front desk person was not very helpful. We went out for a drink that night and got back at 11 PM. He was clearly annoyed that he had to let us back onto the property. He was also cold the next morning at breakfast. Although we had new sheets and towels, the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned.

Stayed at the hotel at the beginning and end of time in CR. Paid for breakfast twice and didn't get breakfast either time. First time it was because there was only two of us in the hotel so they decided to do breakfast 7-8 but didn't tell anyone. Second time I was told they couldn't cater for an early check out, not even a bread roll. The photos on the internet are much nicer than the place which is quite run down and bathrooms really need some work. Area is great to walk in to town for the day time though and has plenty of restaurants around it for the evening. WiFi is ok. Noise from closing gate and local train was annoying.

The hotel is nice, well kept, surrounded by plant life. The hotel, unfortunate for them, had very few guests. They have a nice dining room, but at this time do not serve dinner. The room I chose had a little patio attached to the room. There was very little traffic noise while sitting on the patio. The room was spotless, nice, and comfortable. The only issue was that because they are a small hotel the entrance is locked and the staff has to be handy to open the door. The same with parking, the small lot is gated and the staff needed to open it. This was kind of an issue, as my girlfriend got an emergency call and had to leave around midnight, and it took awhile for the attendant to wake up and come out to open the parking gate. There are several restaurant/bars within walking distance, and the San Pedro mall is about 3/4 mile away. We liked the hotel and will stay there again.

I stayed here for four nights & would sum up my stay as ‘barely adequate’. It is extremely loud, due to nearby bars, traffic, and flocks of noisy birds, making sleeping difficult. The mattress felt like sleeping on a sack of cement & the breakfast was basic. Finally, the staff was not friendly or particularly helpful. When I asked for an iron, the receptionist gave me one that was obviously broken. Stay elsewhere.

Everyone on the staff was super nice and friendly. The hotel is outdated and on a scale of 1 to 10 cleanliness is about a 5. They did have a good breakfast that was included. However is you get a room in the front of the hotel, you can expect it to be loud.

Rooms were only cleaned very superficially, if at all. Surfaces in the bathroom were obviously not wiped down from previous guest. The second room I had was overall nicer and acceptable from a cleanliness perspective. Ancient towels that urgently need replacing. The place itself is beautiful, too bad that there isn't more effort put into it. The staff are generally nice and I appreciated them feeding some local cats. Breakfast is extremely limited and was just about enough for me as a woman, all my male co-travellers left hungry.

Poco personal. Desayuno deficiente: el pinto duro, el huevo salado, hay pocas opciones, mi hijo màs pequeño no desayunó porque no había cereal. El personal muy servicial, el gerente preocupado por nuestra estadìa para mejorar en el futuro, lo cual se le agradece.

This hotel is really charming with a nice arquitectural style and cozy rooms. In comparison to other hotels I stayed at in San José this place takes the cake mainly because of the owners. A husband a wife who are incredibly caring kind warm and gave me great advice on food for dinner and breakfast while I stayed. Not only that but they were incredibly understanding about my flight being later the day of my check out and said it wasn't a problem at all. Unfortunately on Expedia some of the information is incorrect due to the new ownership but honestly it didn't bother me at all because of how kind and friendly the owners are. It is a husband and wife that work really hard to take care of the place and meet the needs of their guests. Truly it felt like a home away from home and was a really incredible place to stay while I transitioned into going back to the U.S. I definitely want to stay here again when I come back to San José in the future. Quiet clean amazing service beautiful architecture nice rooms bathrooms etc. I could not recommend it enough!
